However, in comparison, Arwind Santos has helped a lot the SMB team to be successful because he won championships many times with this team. Maybe let's just say that his time has come, accept his fate and probably also prepare for retirement soon as that's life in basketball.
Right now, SMB is still figuring out how to be more competitive to be a dominant team again.
Arwin knew that and he can't do anything it's the franchise decision, better to accept this fate and continue receiving paychecks, and it's true he can start thinking about retiring, he already contribute enough to this league, with those rings it's a good achievement that every players desire to have when stepping to this league. I'm curious though to what contribution both Manuel and Enciso will add to SMB. Not sure but both players came from alaska right? they are familiar with each other, the adjustment with SMB system is very crucial if both of them are fits to what SMB runs a play.
I understand that the SMB management already have a plan prior to the trade, so there's nothing to worry about, they can test them and if they don't work they can find a way to trade them too. |

They are only trading old players, these two players you mentioned are still young. Marcio Lassiter - 34 years old Chris Ross - 36 years while JMF is still 31 years old. Without Cabagnot, the younger players will now have a chance to play more minutes. I agree with what you said, Spence is a pretty good opponent for the next fight because indeed they are very comparable now and could even be a decent match when this can happen.
We probably need to hear from Spence camp first if he can already fight, he underwent an operation on his eye so most likely it requires a certain time to get healed, or worst if he can't fight anymore because of his delicate operation. on the other hand Keith Thurman is good but you could say Crawford is now having the upper hand after winning over Porter some time ago. and this will only have a slightly different effect when he is faced with spence.

I'm not sure if the Celtics had already max their salary cap, but if they want to increase Schröder, maybe trading Brown would be a good option. Celtics are not thinking of trading Jalen Brown yet, but if he is not playing based on the expectation and Dennis Schröder will continue to be consistent, then that could potentially happen. I'm also surprised at first knowing there's another trade from the SMB roster, and Cabagnot being a clutch guy is traded for Enciso, I guess the SMB are looking for youth that's why they traded their older players. Cabagnot is 38 years old and Arwind Santos is 40, they are already veterans, so we can understand the decision of the management. Cabagnot is already an accomplished player, he already won a championship several times with the SMB so for sure he will accept the decision of the management to trade him. AFAIK, Cabagnot has a passion for coaching too, so maybe after his time in the PBA as a player, he will retire and be a coach, probably just like Jimmy Alapag. His arrival with the Terraferma is good, they have some young talents, they just need veteran to help them more confident and I'm sure Cabagnot would do that for them. |

He led the Boston Celtics in an overtime win by contributing 38 points, I guess this is his best game so far this season.

I think TNT does not need to touch their roster, they have all the players they needed to win another championship.
Wiliams their rookie always play like an import, so they look like they have 2 imports playing which makes their team better compared to the others. I know that Ginebra will be the favorites to win this coming conference due to Brownlee but I have a feeling that TNT will not easily give that to them as they are more confident now, especially for players like Pogoy, Rosario, and others who won their first championship.
Both Rosario and Poguy are playing tough when the team needed them, they just allow Williams to care of the business but when the time that Williams needs help from his big Bro these two are ready to fire up and back Williams to continue dominating, we have seen them playing as a team and not just a Castro centered team. The improvement of having coach Chot back, his mentorships provide inspiration to the team. We question back then why Williams is getting minutes during the early season of the Bubble. We saw why he trusts his rookie and deserves that minute. He brings the title for this franchise and he will continue with the help of his teammates. I hope to see the same explosive Williams that could easily provide points for the team, with the imports added it could affect his production but he will continue to be a threat because they can't double him when as that would open up the shooters of the TNT plus they have imports that are also good. One of the imports that we must look at is the import of Meralco Bolts, Shabazz Muhammad. He is a former NBA player and he played in CBA where he averaged more or less 30 PPG in one season. I think that Meralco is one team that other teams might want to watch this conference (IMO). They have legit import that is a shooter/scorer and they also have a good roster and we've seen it in the Filipino Cup where they are 2nd in elimination round. Which team do you think will dominate this Governor's Cup?
Too early to tell yet but if we based our speculations on history, my choice will be Ginebra as Justine Brownlee is a tested import and he is already acquainted with the style of play in the PBA. Shabazz Muhammad might have impressive numbers in the CBA but bringing it in the PBA is a tough challenge as we all know that most of the imports complained about the physicality of the PBA, and that might affect his numbers. Those imports who complained about the physicality of the PBA are not accustomed yet to our style, PBA is probably building that culture so we will be tougher during the international competition, we lack height but at least we play with more physicality. We are going to see if Shabazz Muhammad could still drop huge numbers once the conference will start, but I doubt he will because we have a lot of great imports playing too and ready to compete in a more physical type of game, flopping is not the game of the PBA. |
