1681  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can You See Or Tell If A Fight Or Event Is Fix ? on: June 28, 2022, 04:42:30 PM
It could be on basketball, boxing or horse racing, or any kind of sport, after being in a particular sport for many years can you see or tell if a fight or event is fixed, there are upsets but in the back of our mind, there's a possibility that the match or game is fixed.

No I can't tell it unless it is too obvious. I've seen goalkeepers (football) acting super stupid before and there was no other explanation for those games. They were fixed. Since I don't watch the other sports like basketball, boxing etc... I don't know anything about those games so It is extremely hard for me to tell anything about them. If you are a regular watcher and a fan of those sports, you could probably tell though. If the favorite side/player acting stupid for no reason > the game is fixed
Ofcourse, we can tell if there's something fishy because we've been watching our preferred sports for a long time so we will really know if the game/fight is rigged. Anyhow, we will just feel discouraged about that fact but we will always find ourselves watching the same sport Grin

I believe that rigging of games or fight are still common in low league sports and not in big events, they quite know that it is too risky if they will rigged a big event.

There's a lot of rumors on Kevin Durant lately. I think the guy wants no part on Ben Simmons and Kyrie Irving. If Brooklyn Nets cannot satisfy his demands then he might be the one leaving. There's also rumors on a Boston Celtics trade for Jalen Brown, Marcus Smart and Grant Williams. Though this is a very big gamble if this really happens but who knows. Maybe Boston had seen enough on their Tatum-Brown build.

Well why would the Celtics break their chemistry when they went to the Finals last year with this roster? Doesn't make sense for the management to just trade them just to get Durant to Boston wherein Tatum is their superstar already? And I think the rebuild was effective already, they are just short of experience that's why they are beaten by the Warriors last year.

Exactly, it was the experience that made the Warriors win because they have the better experience, and in terms of chemistry, we can see that Boston have already built good chemistry. The management should not rush things, they have to take it one step at a time as getting into the NBA Finals is already a big achievement for the Boston Celtics.

just imagine the teams they beat to get into the finals.

1st round beat Nets
2nd round beat Bucks (defending champion)
ECF beat Miami Heat.
1684  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: June 26, 2022, 11:11:38 AM

Then he has to make sure that he can knockout Canelo so there be no more unfair scoring from the judges. The fight is going to be exciting, this is the last chance of GGG to prove that he really is the better fighter like he believe because if he still lose by the judges scorecards, then I think there's no bias in the last 2 fights.

Nothing to argue. If GGG still loses this fight or if somehow another draw happened, he will be retiring his belt with a loss from Canelo. It's good to see him more aggressive in terms of knocking Canelo down for a better score card. The two past fight gives Canelo edge, though the very first one was a draw and the second one was scored in favor of Alvarez.

We don't know how these fights will end, but fans are waiting for these two heavyweights to exchange solid punches.

Both are good in terms of accepting a solid combo and remain standing. Better luck takers..

That's the best thing to do, retire if he fails again because people will still remember him as a great fighter. Nothing to prove anymore, he already did everything but it's just that Canelo has youth over him and that is his advantage.
1685  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: June 26, 2022, 10:44:00 AM
What a game by the TNT.

Mikey Williams contributed hugely in this game, Phoenix did win the 1st half but it was the TNT who dominated the 2nd half.
Williams scored 27 points on his first game this season if I'm not mistaken, he still hasn't change, he really is still a superstar.
1686  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: June 25, 2022, 11:59:25 AM
Yeah, GGG is always cool in this face off but you can see that he is not intimidated by Canelo. There is mutual respect but you can feel that there is really some hostility between the two. I'm just lost though, the 2 fights where contested in 160 right? GGG best weight, and then this time it will be 168 lbs? so it means this is Canelo's comfortable weight. So we might see the best version of Canelo here against GGG moving up in this weight class.

No personal enmity between the two. But that said, Golovkin has spoken to the media on multiple occasions about his displeasure regarding the scoring. He believe that the first fight was stolen from him, and the scoring for second one was also not fair. And he is further aggrieved by the fact that Canelo refused to fight him immediately after the second fight. GGG wanted a fight in 2019. Anyway, less than three months remain, and I am sure that this fight is going to be the most exciting one we have for the last 1-2 years.

1687  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The market is confusing on: June 25, 2022, 11:34:57 AM
The market is still confusing. The market is yet to figure out which way to go. Sometimes it seems like it will start to recover. Never again does it seem like it will go dip. I am afraid to invest in this market. So now I am waiting for the market to become stable. Let's see how long it takes to become stable.
If talking about waiting for the market to stabilize it doesn't look like it will happen in the near future,
but actually we don't know for sure what it's like because it's really hard to predict,
even though the condition is like this we can take advantage of it by buying it and holding it for a certain time until the market recovers again
Better think that the bear market is here to stay for a while. If we follow the trend, mostly the bear market will stay for years while the bull market will stay less than a year only, however, there's always an opportunity in bear market as this is the time where we can make ourselves ready for the next bull run.
1688  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 23, 2022, 07:04:52 PM

But sometimes fate is never on our side and same as them, surely they haven't dreamt of being a boxing superstar but poverty makes the biggest push to make this kids fight to put food on the table. The same as Pacquiao, he grew up in extreme poverty and his mother wanted him to become a priest and not as a boxer but couldn't afford to place him in a seminary. The biggest push that led Pacquiao into a boxer was when his mother had a hard attack, he was left no choice but to have a fight locally and won $2 which he used to buy a medicine. Anyway, Pacquiao was named as Kid-Kulafu and was changed into Pac-Man when he had his 1st professional debut in the world of boxing.

If you guys are wondering how did I know these things, it's because Pacquiao had a movie depicting his early life before he became a star.

I haven't watched the movie yet, but I have known that movie as Kid Kulafu, maybe I will watch it later, and it is pretty much known here in the Phillippines,

Well, many Filipino kids here are pretty much exposed to poverty which is why they think that Boxing will be the only solution to their problem, but I think it is not the case, there are many different aspects of why people become boxers and you can not be rich just because you are a boxer some boxer's failed to deliver or attain what Manny Pacquiao has brought to our country there are boxer here that become poorer when they stop their career as a boxer I think the drives that Manny have will surely differ in many boxers here in the Phillippines, you can be a boxer but do they think they have the mind set and the fuel to become a Manny Pacquiao,

Well, you got some points there. Some are also dreamt of getting famous being a boxing star and some have been successful enough but nowhere near Donaire and Pacquiao's legacy and some are also not that lucky to achieve their dream because it's easy to dream of it but it's hard to be one of those real boxers which we know today because only few really born to be a boxer in the industry.

Manny Pacquiao had a brother named Bobby Pacquiao who is also a professional boxer but the latter had to retire much earlier way back 2008 because his losses are almost coming close to his winnings and he's not getting some main event fight just like Manny had. That's probably one of the good examples that boxing is not for everyone even if boxing is one of those ways to escape poverty.
1689  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 23, 2022, 05:57:40 PM

That is right! Well, we can slightly say that they have some kind of advantage and that is because their head coach which is Steve Kerr is really an experienced basketball player during his time playing ball. Kerr made 5 rings during his time, 3 in Chicago Bulls and 2 in San Antonio Spurs and now 4 rings being a head coach in Golden State Warriors. He surely knows how to invest in some proper players and know how to utilize their each skills to make it a strength. Look at his roster now, it's hard to deny that they will be still dangerous in the upcoming 3 or 4 seasons minimum.

That is why the Warriors team is in good hands Steve Kerr not only showing potential in coaching but a good heart aswell, when shows respect and grieving for the mass shooting in Texas, and back on the game with the Dallas Mavericks,

Well Steve Kerr really is the sole coach for the Golden State Warriors but I think Joe Lacob's trust in his staff and coach was really important aswell it is not an easy task in giving financial support for the team as the owner of the Golden State Warriors, and on the night the Warriors won the Championship Coach Kerr give recognition to Bob Myers  in putting a great team I think every person that involves in developing the teams surely needs great salute, and respect,

Yes, that's how blessed the Warriors are as they have a kind and a good-hearted coach and a strict coach as well to make his team straighten up. I mean, anyone who helps the team surely deserves the credit and respect as they are also a vital reason on why the Warriors got the position they had now like the team's doctor which is the 1st person that Klay run into the moment they won the championship.
1690  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is it so hard to win at gambling? on: June 21, 2022, 07:07:08 PM
Yes, that's indeed the exact reason for that and quite frankly not because of the reason like that specific gambler will lose in the 4th day. Resting on the 4th day to breath after that win for 3 days straight is a must and spend time with our friends and family, we must not let our emotions drive us because that's where greed comes in and eventually we will regret it.
Maybe it would be better if the gambler played the day after that, rested for 1 or 2 days, then could continue playing again.
But it would be even better if we could manage our gambling schedule maybe in a week, we could play gambling 2 or 3 times and use the other days for other activities.
Thus, we can regulate our emotions so that we don't think too much about gambling but only think of gambling as a means to have fun.
In addition, we can avoid the greed that will arise later.
You mean that specific gambler would still play on the 4th day and see if that gambler is still lucky? We can't exactly say if that's a good idea as for sure that gambler is really pushing his or her luck. Having a rest day in-between days is really a must to ease or mind from thinking about gambling stuffs, having some quality time or developing some habit or hobbies would somehow suffice.

^ Today’s rumor seems to be that the Nets aren’t happy with Kyrie and might not extend another contract offer to him. That’s already having people calling for him to join the Lakers. There just isn’t enough money to pay for Kyrie, Bradley Beal, Demar Derozan, along with LeBron, Anthony Davis, & Westbrook. I’m not sure if they’ll be able to make any moves at all. Lots of smoke, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they run it back with the same squad next year just because they can’t make any moves. We’ll see. Lots of rumors…

I'd go with Stephen on this one even though Kyrie is one of my top NBA players on my list. Man, he doesn’t play as much as he should. He lacks consistency. The team he leaves always ends up doing better. Kyrie doesn't put the team first. He was doing that for himself. I'd say, if you are looking to make a great team you should avoid Kyrie like the plague. I think Lakers, hiring Kyrie would be a huge mistake.

Correct, I think Durant's know that, he needed Kyrie's help last year but he is absent. Rumors as well that Kyrie and Westbrook traded, but again this is not confirmed.

But if Kyrie started to play good early and zone-in, the Nets will be a different team next season. They are still the second favorite as far as betting odds goes to win the championship next year, behind the Warriors and tied with Celtics.

Rumors of the lakers trading Westbrook to the Nets for Kyrie? Lol why on earth would the Nets make such a terrible move? Westbrook isn’t on anyone want list anymore.

I agree, if Kyrie were to have played for the entirety of last year, things would like have been different. Especially once they get Ben Simmons up and running, the Nets could be very legitimate next year.

That's a different rumor Grin the Brooklyn Nets certainly doesn't want to add Westbrook in their team, they already have some problems in their present roster and I doubt they will add another one with the likes of Westbrook. The Lakers made a terrible mistake during that trade and now there's no team in the league who's interested of Westbrook after his performance in the recently ended season.
1692  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: June 21, 2022, 05:42:06 PM
^^ He is young and very ambitious, tall and has the advantage on Canelo (reach and height). And he has a good power too, so it's a perfect match for Canelo. But so far he is not on the radar of his team, after GGG maybe they will have to think if they will go for rematch with Bivol. Beterviev is out of the equation for him. There could still be some boxers in 168 lbs that could be safe fight for Canelo. Maybe one try at light heavy weight with Bivol and that's it, regardless of the outcome.

And that certainly gives him edge against Canelo Alvarez who recently suffered loss from the LHW champion Dmitrii Bivol, Benavidez has a pretty rap sheet and bigger KO rate than Canelo. But, wee don't know for sure as we're still giving some early speculation about Canelo's 3rd fight this year, that said, they're still on the 2nd phase now which is fighting GGG for the 3rd time.
1693  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 21, 2022, 04:56:12 PM
And I'm thinking that Bivol might have a good chance to defeat him.

I truly believe that, Bivol is still young, 31 years old now and he has the skills that could also beat a champion as he did to Canelo whom he beat via unanimous decision. Beterbiev has the power, he wins by KO in all of his previous fights, but Bivol is also cannot be underestimated, so it's good to see them fight and see the best of the best.
I know that this questions I want to ask supposed to research of it but since this place is an easier place for me to get valuable answer to my question. So my question goes to this way what is this the strategist all the age someone is supposed to join a boxin group or boxing competition because I can see that this people that is playing boxing some of them that defeat the senior colleagues always be upgrade ones or our upbringing that they are vessels or blood are active for fight.

As early as 10, kids already have vissions of what they wanted to be. But in a poor country down South many are trying to be trained to become a boxer for money. The WILL to survive will make boys fight with all they got to earn pesos.

Manny Pacquaio the holder  8th world title from Philippines started very early. This is one of a kind boxer. If you read his wiki, you'll learn his family is very poor that he has to fight to put food on the table. For beginners, theyre just 4round fights until they become pro to 12 round fight.

1694  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 21, 2022, 04:26:50 PM
Warriors have had a huge dominance in the recent ten years in NBA. They were able to get to the finals most of the time even if they didn't win at the end sometimes. They won another championship this season and I really wonder if there will be another team or teams to stop them for some years. I started to think that Warriors can't be stopped that easy as long as they have especially Curry. Besides Curry, the rest of the team are performing really nicely too. We have started to watch them playing better as a team too.

That is right! Well, we can slightly say that they have some kind of advantage and that is because their head coach which is Steve Kerr is really an experienced basketball player during his time playing ball. 1695  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: June 20, 2022, 07:29:48 PM
After all, if he managed to successfully beat Spence, he will become the undisputed Welterweight champion and can demand a much higher cut in his future fight. And knowing Spence, he can bring more PPV to the fight and is known to always have a sold-out ticket in his every fight. That alone is a reason why 40% is still good money in return for Crawford.

Crawford can like it that way, if he beat Spence he will have all the belts. And as we call it, become the A-side in negotiations. If they will have the rematch, then it will be the opposite, he can demand a 60 or higher split and Spence will have to say yes as he doesn't have the bargaining power in the table.

For now, Crawford should just be patient on his current situation as he's not the one who puts the most food on the table. His only contribution is his WBO belt which Spence also needed to become the undisputed boxer in welterweight. But I think they are already done with that kind of discussion as Spence was already vocal that he's taking the bigger slice and the fact that they're having a discussion now means that they way past about that, the question is, what's their remaining agenda?
1696  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is it so hard to win at gambling? on: June 20, 2022, 07:09:04 PM
That's just a belief that after a 3 days straight big win, the bettor will rest in the 4th day as the bettor believe his luck will not be on his side on that specific day. We cannot possibly know when is our lucky day and that same bettor could've win 1 straight week if he tried but he/she choses to rest so he/she can neither identify if it's true that he will be unlucky in the 4th day.

There's no right and wrong way about that, we hold our own fate and it's our decision if we will proceed down the road whether we won or lost in the past days.
Every gambler's fate will be different, and that's why I suggest taking a break after getting a winning streak.
It would be good for him to relieve tension or be happy to win some money from gambling.
In addition, he can have time to enjoy his winnings with his loved ones.
But it will return to the gamblers because only they know how their body and mind are.

1697  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season - Finals on: June 20, 2022, 06:21:55 PM
So many rumors lurking around after the championship win by the Warriors. One of them is cutting the luxury tax.
This will not be easy for the team to let go some of their players as they really did great in their run to achieve the best ending. And, they have rookies who are proving worthy to be kept. Kuminga especially who might be their next key if they want a back to back championship. We know their weak point is the paint but with Kuminga gaining more experience they may patch that big hole that had been missing in the team. A backup player for Draymond and Looney.

That is surely a challenge for the management whom to keep and the Golden State Warriors really need to sacrifice some of their players and that's inevitable, it won't be easy for sure but they don't have a choice either. IIRC, the LA Lakers have let Alex Caruso because of the same problem. IMO, if they would let of their players go, I think that would be Porter Jr. or Looney. They don't want to let some of their new assets in the court for sure.

As for Kuminga, I'm sure they will keep them and give him more exposure as he's indeed needed at the center. The same goes for James Wiseman, the kid needs to be utilized more as his size could make a difference at the paint.
1698  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: June 20, 2022, 05:54:07 PM
We love this two fighters, but after the second fight, it seems that Canelo head and ego grow big as he doesn't want to give GGG his trilogy. But finally, it was set already so again, emotions are going to run high between the two fighters as GGG said that he won both fights and then chase Canelo for many years.

Who will resist expected big money in return just to accept the call of everybody to do a trilogy with GGG? Smiley

Before the fight with Bivol, it was reported that Canelo reached an agreement to fight Bivol plus two more fights in 2022 in exchange for $160 million.

That was just for 1-year fighting and that was an insane amount already that Canelo will surely bag this year, I think regardless of the result. We just don't how much specifically he will earn with the trilogy. That money figure that Canelo expectedly to receive this year alone, contributes to his status as one of having the highest net worth in sports.

That amount is already huge, more than enough for his retirement.
But he has a long way to go to his retirement phase.
Canelo is favored on this match, so the pressure is real.
He should show us a different Canelo here and have a very worthwhile match.

Yes, that amount is already huge enough to cover his expenses for his along with his beloved family but that money is still not enough and he will still get more because we know that Canelo can still dance will in the ring and he is still at the peak of his prime, that said, $160 Million is just a small amount compared to what he could bag in the coming years.

I'm just curious though, @goinmerry said, that said figure was paid to him in-exchange to fight Bivol and other 2 fights. Who's the 3rd boxer? As we all know, Bivol and GGG were the ones who established the fight this year, so there could be a 3rd fight for Canelo this year after September? I'm curious about that.
Names like David Benavidez, one of the Charlo twins or even Arthur Beterviev's name has been popping up as potential fight for Canelo in the future.
David Benavidez is good for Canelo because he's at supper middle weight and I bet that will be a nice match, but Artur Beterviev? I don't think so. Artur is such a heavy hitter one Canelo would struggle for sure, I'm not seeing Canelo making Artur struggle and surely Canelo wouldn't survive full 12 rounds, IMO. Canelo should give up facing boxers in light-heavyweight as Bivol surely taught him some lessons that Canelo is way beyond his line.

1700  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: June 19, 2022, 10:23:40 AM
OK, so the 2021-2022 season (this thread really needs a subject update, it's 2 years behind now) is in the books.  My question is, where are people going now to get their fix of basketball?  Are we all just waiting for summer league or the latest trade news?  I was thinking maybe I need to get more involved into international basketball, as I prefer that to college.  Anyone have any tips for me to help point me in the right direction?  Would love to get a year round basketball routine going so I'm not forced to watch baseball or football to get my athletic fix.

We have our local league and fortunately it is being covered by a sport bookies that I know of.

And then we have the WNBA, not followed it though like NBA, but I just started to bet on games and try to familiarized myself with the team. There are a lot of international basketball that it is really hard to give you tips as to which league.

Right! either our local league or WNBA or even those World cup that being hosted by bookies,

For now, let the teams and players rest and enjoy their vacations, especially the Warriors who won the world title, give them
time to spare with their families. They deserve the best vacation, with lots of perks coming from the team owners and sponsors..

We have no choice, we cannot make a bet because there's no game available, we just have to wait until the new season will officially start or the starte of the preseason because bookies already have a betting odds for the games available.

I think we have to wait for a while, they will rest but we will never rest in betting. I think the next season will start in December this year, so that means we have to wait for more months for us to start betting on the NBA games again. I am now betting in our local basketball, and I'm seeing here that most of the local basketball fans are also betting NBA games, at least for us we have alternatives while NBA is still off.
