1581  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Unquestioned goal and habit on: August 10, 2022, 09:27:12 PM
As a human being, you are expected to have a target in life every given year. As time proceeds, it just seems our efforts are not going anywhere (stagnant at a place).
I have read, followed and listen to so many people's advice on how to invest in bitcoin, and diversify your investment strategy but my portfolio is not giving me as joy as I anticipated at the beginning of this year. I know many people in this forum anticipated the same to make much money from crypto at the beginning of this year. My plead for you are:
1. Remove all the deadlines you gave yourself to avoid depression.
2. If you didn't meet up your target before the end of this year, just pray and work hard.

In all you do, endeavour to set a standard goal, and if you fail to achieve all, readjust and bounce back.

Life is short and full of exploitation.
Live yours like there's no tomorrow.

Breathe in and out we all still have a long way to go.
If bitcoin does not works today, it does not mean that it won’t work the rest of the days. Bitcoin has its own flaws, so we have to deal with it accordingly. And the fact that bitcoin is good for long term investment, so don’t expect for quick profits as bitcoin is not a get-rich-quick scheme. You have to endure the bear season as much as its needed, that way you will always be profitable when bull season comes as everything you work hard for will finally reap off.
1582  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is trading really worth it? on: August 09, 2022, 09:42:10 PM
Trading is at maximum a side hustle. It cannot be a job because of the speculative nature and the uncertainties associated with it. This applies to all types of trading.

So if a family member is willing to get into it, explain the same to them and tell them that it cannot be their main job. The main job should be one with a fixed income every month or so.

The technical analysis is pseudoscience and only correct at times. It is better used to predict rather than take decisions. Otherwise everyone doing TA would have been a millionaire already.
It cannot be a stable job but sometimes, the profits you get from it exceeds from your job’s income. But only professional traders can make it possible to happen, as newbies will only ruin and mess up in trading. However, seeing trading alone as your only source of income brings a lot of risks and uncertainties, so it’s better if you can have a good and stable job, and only makes trading as your second source of income.
1583  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have started teaching Bitcoin to my Neighbors on: August 08, 2022, 09:59:01 PM
I also done something like that before but only few of them are really interested in crypto.
Some of them just like to listen or hang out some of them did invest and earn from it, and I am happy that somehow I manage to help them.
I used to do it before with my co-workers but it didn't worked out because its clear that they only want fast investment profits, and i know bitcoin can't provide it for them. But i also explained to them that bitcoin is a long term investment and it takes a year or two before they make a decent income as long as they'll never be tempted to sell at an earlier price. I don't know if they have made real investments as i bet their only excuse is that bitcoin is very expensive. One thing i realized, they always have their own excuses just to make their reasons more valid.
1584  Economy / Speculation / Re: Industry experts believes BTC is primed to hit $106,000 on: August 08, 2022, 09:33:02 PM
I have personally seen different predictions from financial experts, from those who predict the complete collapse of bitcoin or a fall below $10,000 to those who predict btc to grow to a million dollars by 2028.
There is no point in discussing these predictions because we are not talking about facts here but only guesses or assumptions that are very unlikely to come true.
What exactly will happen in the end with bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, I don't think anyone can say 100% and it's much better to think about your plans and strategies in the crypto market, and the exit strategy, because that's the only thing that depends on us.
Entering the crypto market without any plan and reading all these predictions and believing them is a path to disaster and not to success.

Everything are considered wild but educated guesses, and not yet proven unless its happening already. However, reading all these positive predictions will also bring more positivity on part of us in spite of the market not showing high progress these past few days. But let's also not forget that these could also be misleading if we totally rely on it, as we tend to invest more than we can afford to lose. So its still best to follow your own predictions and stick to your own plans as everyone has its own target goal in the crypto market.
1585  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Fernando Martinez vs Jerwin Ancajas rematch - Oct.8 on: August 07, 2022, 10:57:13 AM
Though this is not a big fight for everyone but I think this is big for Filipino boxing fans out there because this is the chance that the Philippines can capture a belt in boxing once again.
Its good to know that there's a rematch because this is the chance for Ancajas to regain the world title again. In their last fight, Ancajas is lacking of defense and power punches, it seems like he's not in good condition or should I say not prepared at that time. Well, I hope he will redeem himself because he is just starting to establish his name and not yet had a strong opponent aside from Martinez.

That is not an excuse, he was the champion, and he should be ready every time he fights, so now, he is given a chance to redeem what he lost, he should never waste this opportunity. @Op, how about some poll here although obviously, Ancajas will get most of the votes.
1586  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: August 07, 2022, 10:16:53 AM
Of course TNT is coming back, this league is rigged as fuck. From -10 to +6 in some minutes, classic pba, happens every game.
Some of the games maybe, not every game. Yes, it could be rigged, but it's only up to you how to use this on your favor, the odds are available, just choose at the right side and you will win money.
1587  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Haney vs Kambosos II (Undisputed) on: August 07, 2022, 07:20:28 AM
While it is true that there does not seem to be any doubt about who will win the rematch, this is about contractual obligations, Kambosos had a right to call a rematch and as such Haney had no other choice but to accept, for the fans that want to see a competitive fight this is not the best outcome but if Haney wants to retain his titles he needs to accept, besides now he is probably going to get a larger share of the money so it is not like it is a complete loss to him.
The UK and Aussie fans are different . They love boxing. They will fight this second fight in Sydney and do another 50K crowd about like they did in Melbourne. Meanwhile, assuming kambosos didn't agree to the rematch, he would have been exiled back to Australia. And, I think those other big names like Ryan Garcia and Tank would never fight kambosos unless he had the belts.

It was Kambosos who asked for a rematch because he has the right, no way he would not try to get back his belts, it's his only chance to be a champion again. One last try, if he will lose then that's it, he has to move to his next plan which we have no idea yet.
1588  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 07, 2022, 06:49:41 AM
An interesting article about how no other teams want to help the Brooklyn Nets get a deal done for Durant.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nba/nba-rumors-rival-teams-are-blocking-a-kevin-durant-trade/ar-AA10nxcZ?ocid=msedgntp&cvid=e987a0c3796540f3e04dcd0db624c9ee

I don't blame them I guess.  Owners seem to be pushing back against players trying to call the shots and other franchises have to love the way the KD/Kyrie experiment blew up in the Nets' face.  Still, I'd like to see Durant in Phoenix and Kyrie in Los Angeles if for nothing else than I think that is the most entertaining outcome of this offseason.  I do think Durant will get traded at some point, but it may take a Black Swan Event during the season.

Kyrie going to the Lakers is likely but Durant going to Phoenix, I think that is unlikely, what would be the deal in order for that to realize? I have no read of the rumors regarding that trade, so I'm a little blank with regards to that information.
1589  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin bull run 'getting interesting' as BTC price hits 6-week high on: August 05, 2022, 07:14:01 PM
I like the price to recover but to call this recent rise a bull run is to have no idea what you are talking about or to want to mislead people.
OP can be misleading if one follows intentionally without making a good research first. But for those who are smart enough to have advanced ideas that this current sudden price increase could only end up as a bull trap in the end. Well, bull run will definitely happen but I’m not seeing this time or this current year. It will only come when the whole global economic condition show signs of progress.
1590  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Don't sit on your hands on: August 05, 2022, 06:50:09 PM
Many people are expecting Bitcoin to go down to 10k before they start investing, well not a bad idea but sometimes your expectations might not come true, just because bitcoin was 3700$ in match 2020 doesn't mean we might see 10k per Bitcoin, remember it was because of CoViD that's why BTC plummeted to 3700$, the best strategy is DCAing, 17500$ per BTC weeks ago was a good opportunity honestly, for the short time some said but might be the last for the long term too, instead of guessing and making predictions avoid sitting on your hands and do nothing.
They say always wait for the right timing to buy and sell, but we often perceive it wrongly and still resort into wrong decisions. Bitcoin price is already a good time to buy, so always make a move while there is still opportunity to seize. Some would prefer waiting for another bitcoin price drop, but seeing how the price of bitcoin changes rapidly, there’s no such better idea than to do DCA than miss the train again. That is way safer than just purely waiting and do nothing.
1591  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: August 05, 2022, 12:07:30 PM
Looks like Meralco really made the right adjustment, they were up by double digits early but now they are only up 3 points after the first half. What's important is they started strong, now, let's see if they will be able to carry that intensity in the 2nd half to even the series.
Yes, they won the game and has even the series, it's now tied 1-1. Great game by Black, he was the player of the game and happy to see coach Norman is back. It's a team's effort, I hope they can still play that well in game 3 as SMB will certainly make an adjustment to lead the series. Good luck,

By the way, TN vs Magnolia, Magnolia is up 10 points after the first half.

39-29 is the core.

Very low scoring game between TNT and Mags, still hanging with 8 points leads in the last 3 more minutes of the third and Magnolia is really doing well in preventing Williams to explode, if they can keep him away from the basket the chance of winning the game is really possible for them, though there's still a lot of time for TNT to rally back and push some turnovers and snatch this game away from Mags.

Everybody's game is still for both competing teams, let's see who will stand up and win this game, good luck and hold your breath bettors!

TNT not giving up, they are still coming back despite the effort of the Magnolia.  4th quarter will be the deciding quarter, hopefully Magnolia will still take the lead going to the 4th quarter and they will not collapse as TNT has slowly gaining the momentum.

Magnolia is up again by double-digit, 79-65, I think game 2 is for Magnolia.

If this series will be over, then maybe those who are interested in betting locally can continue now.
Barroca played well tonight with 19 points, good bounce back after struggle in game 1.

I was in the impression that Magnolia will pull away but look what is happening now, it's the last 2 minutes and the lead is only 4 points, William again doing the damage and after tha bad 1st half start he already got 28 points what the heck this star really bring to TNT, he's unbelievable, he's doing everything if they win this game it's a snatch that being let go by the Mags, anything can happen so better to watch till the last buzzer.

I didn't expect that Magnolia will almost loss this game, they allow TNT to have a good run, Williams with back to back 3 point shots and that made the game very close. Good thing Barroca was clutch, though he missed 1 of the 2 FT but they are already ahead and TNT can only bring the game to OT.

Great overall performance by Magnolia, Sanggalang and Barroca were the best contributers of this game.

From up to 19 points lead, the lead were down to only 2 points, it was really an entertaining game.

1593  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Educational: Breaking misconceptions about market crashs on: August 04, 2022, 09:58:51 PM
But it is not enough to crash Bitcoin almost about 10k down.
<snip>
The point is that an altcoin having fundamental issues is not going to affect Bitcoin much, the sell off could have caused panic as it's somewhat Bitcoin related and can cause panic and fud. There are also other factors that goes into price movements besides what hits the news as headlines.
If bitcoin has an issue and its price drops, expect that all coins will be affected too. But when it comes to altcoins, even if they end up losing their value, that won't create huge effect on bitcoin. Although bitcoin is still prone to such price decline, but always know that bitcoin will eventually recover and target to reach new all time high after that. Maybe the recent price drop for bitcoin is actually more on the reasonable effects due to global economic condition, and crypto market is not the only one affected but as well as with the other market.
1594  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will be running in your mind if Bitcoin reaches $1000 again on: August 04, 2022, 09:33:08 PM
If Bitcoin drops that low, I would at least be happy that I sold some at $50,000 and overall made a very decent profit with Bitcoin. If I only hodled and never sold and the price dropped catastrophically low, I would be full of regret over missed opportunities like selling at $69,000. It's never a bad idea to take profit with a portion of your investment, even if you think that it will get much higher eventually.
There are no losses actually if you sell your bitcoin at a higher price from the time you bought it, or even if you sell it a lower value as long as you also sell it for a cause. You benefit from it so it’s still profitable on your part. However, with regards to seeing bitcoin at $1k, well it’s certainly something to celebrate as its another opportunity to build more profits in the future through buying a lot of bitcoin at its current price. So never miss another train, just buy as much as you can.
1595  Economy / Economics / Re: Social media, now looking more for business than for socializing. on: August 03, 2022, 09:51:08 PM
Do you think social media is now becoming more a place for business than socializing, Could it be as a result of digitalization and things moving online or more people now starting business online because of need to somehow generate income or another source of income for self to survive the economic situations which is becoming tougher?

Making business with other people contributes more to create socialization, and maybe that’s why social media is made because this can be a good outlet for business and all sorts of socializing. And as we are living in digitalization, social media has become more effective. However, not just only profitable for us but as well as for those people who live with greed. Scams are also everywhere, and social media is never an exception.
1596  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ATH for ETH on: August 03, 2022, 09:32:29 PM
As all are speculating the merge for ETH, are we gonna see ATH for ETH in the crypto market? Thoughts?
Merging are mostly manifesting a positive outcome after that, so yes it’s possible to see ETH new ATH after that. However, expect that bitcoin will be the one to reach another all time high first, afterwards we will witness more altcoins are also influenced by the positive price of bitcoin. Ethereum is the next best asset next to bitcoin, so probably with or without merging, ethereum will always reach its new ATH.
1597  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How diversified are you with your investment, crypto aside? on: August 02, 2022, 09:37:18 PM
I'm a young professional, starting working a year ago, and so far I've been placing 20% of my monthly salary into crypto (only crypto).

I understand that it's risky, and would like to save in other ways too. But then whenever I start deciding ...

- savings account offers 0.65% APR, meaning I'd be saving liquidity but also Losing due to inflation.

- traditional markets have less fluctuation but are risky anyway, so may as well stick to BTC and ETH no?

- can't think of any other investment type that yields more than 10% py. Enough to cover inflation.

Any suggestions that could help change my mind?
Or are all you deep into crypto only, like myself ?

Thanks!
Bitcoin is a very good investment, yet a very risky too. But I definitely agree on you that there is no other investment that is profitable as bitcoin. However, you could also invest into real estate, buying them at a low price, and selling them at a higher price after making some good developments. You can diversify your investments as much as you want, but always allocate higher portion of capital for bitcoin.
1598  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Early Adopters rich? on: August 02, 2022, 08:22:43 PM
I just wonder: are Early Adopters rich?
We know AA, author of "Mastering Bitcoin" was once attacked because he did not made any fortune having BTC from early years, then people donated some BTC and he collected around 100BTC.
Hal F's wife sued "I am Satoshi guy" and they were talking about $ 3-digit mln, so they are not kind of people who wait every month for their wage.
What about others? Bitcoin Core developers? Forum admins or well-known old users? Are they crazy rich living in their own castles or did they lost their coins, sold for $10 because of mortgage loan or student's debt and today they must work 7-15 every day?
Everyone has its own way of managing their investments. If the early adopters show strong faith in bitcoin and were not tempted to sell at a low price, for sure they are reaping their fortune right now. However, for those who never see the real value of bitcoin and just easily sell them off when the price starts to surge, then they must be regretting by now, wishing they have not sold bitcoin at a very early time.
1599  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: You have not lost a dime if your Bitcoin is in your wallet on: August 01, 2022, 10:18:21 PM
...All this people sold at different prices but their all sold only 1 Bitcoin.

If you look at it the way Elon Musk assessed the situation, who decided to sell BTC owned by Tesla for 29 thousand dollars, then it looks like a loss for his campaign. But if he decides to buy bitcoin for the same amount now, then his quantities will increase and exceed the initial purchase. So is it better to sell and then buy at a lower price or hold, in the hope that the price will recover?
Selling is only done when you see the coin has already increased its value, that way you will sell for profits and then buy back again when bitcoin is already in a low price. However, if you sell at a loss, that’s another story. Just focus on hodling the coin, you might never know in the future that the 1 bitcoin you used to hold, can already buy a lot of bitcoin if you decide it to sell.
1600  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you look down on Bushy or undeveloped areas? on: August 01, 2022, 09:56:12 PM
Have you ever or come across friends/ family members feel regretting of not buying land property in an undeveloped area that later turned  a city after some years, houses/land property becomes very expensive.  Time without numbers of have always heard many people how they gave histories about some areas when it was coming up land was sold for a very little amount of money,  then they had opportunity to get land for a penny but not interested of it because it was bushy and not developed.

After some years the place gets developed  by people who endured and quickly moved in no matter how it was bushy and undevelope. Most of the people I meet making complain like this never had opportunity again to afford a piece of small land again because of much responsibility of life.

It seems very painful because of the amount of money spent for renting a house annually.  Do you think buying your first landed property in a bushy area is a good investment for the future.
What we see today will be never be the same again the next day, or in the future. Just like a property, if it’s not developed yet, we always think it’s useless, but when developers see its potentials, it’s value instantly grows. So if we always focus on the future, that this land will become more developed, then it’s always a good investment to buy properties even in a bushy area.
