Thanks for the update @freedomgo, that's a great news.

So it's not gonna be the 1st week of February but on the 2nd week, regardless, at least it doesn't take too long before the PBA will resume and we can see some live actions soon. There's no crowd, it's understandable, what matters is PBA will be back soon.
2182  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: January 29, 2022, 01:24:27 PM

I doubt he'll ruin his name and career by not showing up for this fight. I know there are rumors regarding him faking the illness but if the WBO confirmed the evidence he showed, I believe that he was not faking his Illness.

It's not fake, it's real, otherwise, he will go to jail or will lose his license. Casimero has proven not feeling well that time so he was not stripped with this belt, for the 2nd time, he is given another chance to defend his title and I'm sure he will do just find and beat his challenger.

Casimero is on his way making his name to be more famous in the industry and I don't actually believe that he will do that because surely Casimero himself know what would be the outcome if he suddenly decides not to show up and it's just a rumor that he's just faking his illness that's why he was hospitalized but there's some videos in the youtube that can vouch his actions.
2183  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: January 29, 2022, 12:29:22 PM

But isn't it final already that they will resume next month on the 1st week?

No import, I think it's not exciting, however, I would just accept it as it's better to have that than no PBA at all.
I hope there's no more changes and we will finally see the return of the PBA conference, I think it's almost a month already since it was stopped.

I will echo you from here, whatever the decision will take place as long as the league will go back, it's better than nothing at all, i also don't have any idea with what would be the case for the imports but for sure we will see that once the PBA resume, only a few more days and we will see our favorite team and players to be back in actions.

Though still depends on how the PBA will announce it but so far there are no changes after they inform the public that first week of
Feb they will start the game and resume.

Also, until there's no assurance that they will resume 1st week next month, let us not expect a lot as we might only be discouraged. of course we want to see some action again, but the PBA has been pause for now and all we have to hope is that there will be no more problem that will come in the next few days.

Quote
PBA commissioner Willie Marcial on Monday, January 24, said the board of governors agreed to restart the stalled Governors’ Cup in February with the number of coronavirus cases, particularly in Metro Manila, starting to drop.
Marcial said the league was just waiting for the approval of local government units (LGUs) for the return of scrimmages as the board of governors acknowledged that teams should be given 10 days to practice.
Source: https://www.rappler.com/sports/pba/pba-eyes-february-restart-for-stalled-governors-cup/

As stated from the source, they're still waiting for the LGU's approval to have a green light and to start the 10-day allocated practice before they announce the exact date of when does the games will resume, so I guess 1st week of February isn't final yet. But atleast we know that there's something we can look forward to especially that this games is likely to happen as the covid cases is also slowing down.

That's great, but they seemed to be confident to say that they will resume next week, so most likely we will see the PBA soon. I'm happy with the news, it seems so positive and I really want to start betting on PBA games again as I'm in a good run thus far, hope my momentum will not be ruined though.

There's no concrete announcement of the dates yet that they're going to resume the said games next week but as said by PBA Commissioner Marcial that they are just waiting for the signal, so it's quite positive that we will be seeing some games soon and that makes me excited because I'm not that contented about the games last year.
2184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 29, 2022, 11:49:55 AM
Hornets had another impressive game last night against Lakers. It was a really competitive and close game and Hornets managed to win by a result like 117-114. Lebron and Davis both were absent for this game and Lakers were going to have a hard time. Actually, this time Westbrook took the responsibility of carrying the team and he played really nice by scoring 35 points. However, his field goal success percentage was below 50. And you can't win every game while you are depending on a specific player also. Hornets still won by a nice team play.

I think it's already expected that Hornets will be favored in todays game because Lakers have announced earlier that LeBron and AD won't be available in the game due to their existing injury. And while WB led the team temporarily and made 30+ points doesn't make them more secure because you're correct mate, the other players are just heavily depending to their key players and doesn't help contribute points.
While the Hornets are consisted of young and new players but their performance and talents are just undeniably great as they're continue to show the league what they got. And note, almost all of them made 20+ points.
2185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Thurman vs Barrios - Feb 5 on: January 29, 2022, 09:01:49 AM
Both of these fighters are coming from the only loss of their exciting boxing careers but I think Keith Thurman is already losing his old boxing prowess. Even during his match against Manny Pacquiao, Thurman is noticeably not his old self anymore. He is also not anymore as busy as a fighter for the past years. This will have an effect to his boxing skills. He must already be rusty as a boxer. So I will give my prediction to Barrios winning this match.

Yes, because that is the second fight of Thurman coming from an injury. He fought Josesito Lopez for him comeback and it's a hard fought match. And many observers says that Thurman is not his former self and that's why Manny wanted him. And we all know that Manny knock his ass out and then was weaken in the body shots. So maybe that is what Barrios camp is also seeing, that Thurman is no longer in his old self anymore and who knows, maybe they are right again.

Thurman's boxing career is near its end. It is very obvious. It is even possible this is his last fight depending on how it turns out. If he is badly beaten by Barrios and even knocked out, it is perhaps his last.

But you are wrong in saying Manny knocked him out. Manny knocked him down just once, but in terms of the overall fight Thurman was not schooled. In fact, Thurman won in one of the judges' scorecards. Manny only won by split decision. Some think that Thurman won. That knock down was a big deal.

It was just a slipped though, what I really meant is that he was knock down with the Manny Pacquiao fight.

So we will see in this fight if Thurman's boxing career is near it's end. He is what like 33 years old and should by know at the peak of his career. But he was injured and then a long layoff that might have taken a lot from him.  Again, this is a comeback for him and it could be his greatest fight or it could spell disaster for him if he lost.

Yes, Keith Thurman is 33 years old but I doubt that he can still dance well in the ring considering that he was inactive for almost 3 years but we'll see if he still got what it takes to redeem his name or is it time to hang up his gloves as he's nowhere to go. Barrios on the other hand, had professional fights every year so I guess it's quite safe to say that Thurman will just be a stepping stone to a 26 years old Barrios.
2186  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 29, 2022, 08:35:42 AM

Bucks vs Knicks, The Bucks needed a win to snap their losing skid right now and the Knicks might be a perfect victim. And it will be in their homecourt so I guess -9.5 for the Bucks in this game.

The line is really too high considering that the Knicks is a decent team. But I like the line, it tells us to bet on the Knicks but what would happen in this game is that the Bucks will dominate them and win by more than 10 points, I hope my expectation will come into reality.

I'm with you mate, though the spread was pretty high, I'm still confident that the Bucks could defeat the NY Knicks for more than 10 points tomorrow and I have faith that they will bounce back in their own homecourt after their huge loss against the Cavaliers with 16 points.

Bucks will try to bounce back after that loss from the Cavs,

Taking the risk for the handicap might be challenging, but we know that Bucks can really cover this if they have
a good run during the game.

If still the combination of Giannis, Middleton and Holiday jive a good blend, it's worth the risk sparing some
coins in this game, Best of Luck!

Congratulations mate, and to all who put their bets on the Bucks. Surely it wasn't an easy handicap but luckily they've defeated the NY Knicks and managed to score 123 points with a 15 points difference.
As expected, Giannis led the game and made 38 points alone with ofcourse the help of Middleton and Holiday who also managed to contribute a total of 44 points.
2187  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: January 28, 2022, 09:57:13 PM
I guess it was previously announced, but of course, we have to see them make a further announcement about the status of the current NBA season. I am optimistic that they will resume soon and it's not gonna be a long wait for us since, in just over a week, we will know if they'll really resume or not.

In online, there's no much news but only an speculation so far.
They can’t afford any further delay or else they have to cancel this conference and waste everything after all.
PBA is already working on this and they told us that in February they will resume the conference, let’s hope for this to happen and no further delay, it looks like the protocols by February will slightly ok for them,

Next month is very crucial, we have to hear their decision and I also expect the same, it's either a resumption or cancellation of the season next month, but let's hope for the positive announcement as this season has been very entertaining since imports are back after years of not being allowed to play.

Quote
bubble is thing a good option.
They have no choice but to do this last option.
Hoping that the conference will continue next month, hoping that they have a better plan now.
PBA will lose much money if they cancel the conference, so this should not be the option for them better to go for a bubble situation which they have the experience already though of course this will be an additional expense for them.

That's all I want as well, let's just continue to be hopeful of their return because they have invested on this season already as they paid money for the imports and they won't allow to lose their money because of the pandemic, there's always a last option and that is the bubble.
2188  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Thurman vs Barrios - Feb 5 on: January 28, 2022, 09:25:58 PM

So in this fight, if Barrios has the power and speed then he can do the say. Score a knock down and shoot for Thurman's body because that is a weak spot.

Sorry but I don't see that happening, he cannot even beat Gervonta Davis who is smaller than Thurman, how can he knock out a big guy like Thurman. Barrios still has a lot to learn in boxing, Thurman is already on the top level, if he can beat Thurman, then I would believe that one day he will be a champion in the Welterweight division.

It's not about the size, have you forgotten that Manny Pacquiao was smaller than Thurman and yet he won against him? Man, this is boxing, every boxer has an advantage and weakness and being a smaller fighter could also be use as an advantage.
^ Size does not matter in boxing as long as grip strength is there, it's very important when grappling and delivering punches.
When it comes to strength, weight, and height are different things, it has always an advantage when you have this strength even though you are not taller and that is right size does not matter.
However, in this match, I will go to Thurman's side, I know he has the capability to defeat Barrios with his strong punches very quickly.

Barrios is quick as well but Thurman has been in many fights with different great fighters. It's his division, so it's just right that people will lean on him in this fight. In terms of experience, Thurman is way more mature and though both came from a loss Thurman's loss was a very close one, and it was a big fight.

Curry - Thompson duo was great last night and it was promising for the coming games too. I really missed to watch these two players playing at the same time. Thompson is getting better by every game and it is nice to see. He is one of the greatest shooting guards in NBA now and he is a very important player for Warriors. In the absence of him, Curry had to carry the team but thankfully he did a great job. Because he is just an insane player. But this wouldn't have gone like this all the time in the playoffs too.
Looks like the splash brothers are back, this is their 2nd game where they dominate their opponent, their 3 point shooting is just flawless and Thompson seems to be very confident now and his shots are really falling. I like this team, they look like the old warriors, a team that is almost unbeatable.

Klay Thompson is in fact showing some really nice improvement since he returned this season, there maybe some setbacks and adjustments but that didn't last long and now they're slowly coming back dominating almost every team they've faced and will face. They are on their 4th win streak now and crawling to have the #1 spot on the Western Conference again. We'll see on Sunday in their face off against the Nets if they'll will be that consistent.

There's a little changes on the spread, and indeed a -9.5 for the Bucks was a bit too high against the Knicks, so I'll let it slide for now as I can't really predict the game but they've adjusted the spread into a -/+8.5 now.

Chicago Bulls will play tomorrow too against the San Antonio Spurs, I'm taking the Bulls -1 and I'm confident that they could eventually defeat the Spurs just like what they did to the Raptors and also the spread isn't quite risky Grin goodluck!
2191  Economy / Economics / Re: Dont just borrow money but for the right reason on: January 27, 2022, 01:29:09 PM
Well, lands in Metaverse projects are expensive and knowing to buy property from projects that won't fail will be good when they are just starting. I won't advise anyone to borrow money and invest in cryptocurrency, although the odds always favour those who dare with the right project and with a huge patient.
Actually it goes back to each person if they are smart in managing it I think it will be profitable,
but indeed borrowing money and investing in crypto is a big risk so many people are also advised not to do that

The principle of investing is to invest what you can afford only, the fact that you borrow money, says you likely can't afford to invest at the moment. However, you can take the risk if you want, but you should be ready of the negative outcome as investing is not only one side, but one could lose or profit from investing.
2192  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: January 27, 2022, 01:05:58 PM
NLEX and Gin kings are hot, but we know both TNT and SMB are both capable of chasing the title.

We just have to hope that everything will go back smoothly now.

Just last week although I can't find the link, I have read that there's also a consideration wherein the Governors Cup will be pushed but without the imports as these guys also have a business to take care and these delays are making their schedule in jeopardy.

It's been a while that we see a not usual team on the top of the standing that's why I like to see where's the dominance of NLEX this Governor's Cup will end up.

Have not read that but i think imports can play as the resumption of games would be on the first Sunday of February and no word yet from the PBA that imports are not allowed to play for the time being.

With the "unrestricted free agent" rule in effect, SMC and MVP teams will become stronger as free agents main priority is to sign with those teams, last option for them is to sign with low tier teams if no offer from strong teams.

But isn't it final already that they will resume next month on the 1st week?

No import, I think it's not exciting, however, I would just accept it as it's better to have that than no PBA at all.
I hope there's no more changes and we will finally see the return of the PBA conference, I think it's almost a month already since it was stopped.
2193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: January 26, 2022, 08:40:06 PM
^^ I think it boils down as to what Bob Arum will advise Inoue here.

If Uncle Bob says "fight Donaire first, the chances are very high since you already beat him. Let Casimero fight other boxers, and be damage before you fight him."

So this could be the likely scenario even if Casimero wins his bout against Butler.
Arum always cares about money. He will not dare to deal with his assets if the chance of losing valuables is high.

Common, Inoue is the one who's really hot right now and if Arum will tell him to face Donaire, Arum will do his best to promote and attract

Viewers and gamblers to watch and bet on this fight. He will entertain fight that he knows he has the upper hand. You pointed it out

Inoue already beats Donaire and with that age gap, the chance of beating him again is really high.. Wink

Most likely they will fight Donaire first as that would be an easier journey for them, when Inoue beats Donaire, he can also be a unified champion, no difference with fighting and beating Casimero, so maybe the last step would be being a undisputed and that's a fight with Casimero.
2194  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is $34k the bottom?? on: January 26, 2022, 08:16:55 PM
Most likely $33,000 - $34,000 is not the bottom. We will probably dump into the $20,000’s in the next 12 months. I don’t think we will go to lower than $20,000 though. The bull run is definitely over though, no ATH until after the next halving in 2024. That’s how it should work any way theoretically.
I cannot disagree with this although in long term I'm bullish. I've been here for years and I saw the trend in the past, so I wouldn't be surprised if we will see another panic like bitcoin going down $30k because it's always been a normal scenario.

What I do and we should do is just to "HODL".
2195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I Predict $20,000 for dogecoin in 5years time on: January 23, 2022, 09:42:10 PM
I will recommend to put only small parts in Doge. Don’t put your eggs in one basket. Diversify and research. Remember low market caps are still viable for a lot more speed. got a guaranteed way to share with y’all on how your portfolio grow with about 30% weekly. such a profitable opportunity without stress.
Actually there is no guaranteed way to grow by 30% at this time especially if the money is in Dogecoin, even though the way you say it can be very good for everyone to do, but guarantees it will never exist in market conditions like now.
Correction for DOGE will continue as the market remains bearish. I'm surprised it's still sitting at the top 10, but eventually, as the bearish market prolong, it will go down, and when investors panic, it will not be in the top 100 again. I'd rather buy a coin with some decent potential so if ever they'll dump, investors will still stay and they have a good chance of rising again. Taking note, Shib is going down as well in the ranking, these meme coins would never survive without hype.
2196  Economy / Speculation / Re: are we going to have "fear" months? on: January 23, 2022, 09:00:02 PM
Why stop at months, I think we can speculate this whole year might be a fear year.  I'd call it consolidation, natural process and revision and its not as bad as it appears but people get to fear readily so yep good call by OP.
I'm not a great fan of hype either, if somehow I could trade both engage and sell I would be alot richer doing so.    It often OTT overdone silly fear imo, BTC behind the scenes matters more.
It's better to speculate based on year than months because we can see a bigger picture using a year as our basis. Well, the market maybe bearish now but that would never end the crypto market, like in the past, this is the trend that we are seeing again, and if we didn't make the right decision in the past, this is the time to correct that and it should start from buying the dip so we can stock some crypto assets for the coming bull market.
2197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Thurman vs Barrios - Feb 5 on: January 23, 2022, 08:40:44 PM
^^ No doubt that Barrios believes in himself that he can beat Thurman, that's why he chooses Keith to be his next fight in his first attempt at 147 lbs. And he should be really preparing hard because he knows that this is a very difficult fight for him. And upsets can happen in boxing, as we can see recently, Magsayo beat the reigning champion in 126 lbs in Russell via a decision. So we will see if he has what it takes to pull another upset for this year.
That was a good win by Magsayo, and yes I believe in upset as I bet on Magsayo on that fight with Rusell. well, in this fight, I'm with the favorite here as I'm a fan of Thurman and I believe he can teach Barrios a lesson on how to be clever in boxing. This is going to be his come back fight, I'm sure Thurman would also not gonna take this fight lightly.
2198  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who saw the Bear market coming? on: January 23, 2022, 01:34:06 PM
Tried to tell my friends back in the summer that $60k+ was a good time to sell because bear market was incoming.

No one listened. They all were hypnotized by the YouTubers shilling alt coins and thought another 10x was around the corner.

Now, 6 months later they are all talking about the crash incoming.

N00bs....

They surely are regretting now if they are not holding it for the long term, for short term trade, selling at $60k would already give a decent profit, sometimes our greediness makes us not to make the right decision. Now that the market is bullish, if we panic, then we will lose.
2199  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is $34k the bottom?? on: January 23, 2022, 12:41:15 PM
It's hard to tell now, the recovery is very slow, so I think let's not make a conclusion for now. IMO, if the market is bearish, then most likely the dip that we saw is not really the lowest price, more dump means more panic, that would possibly happen if we are already in a bearish market.
2200  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Gary Russell vs Mark Magsayo WBC Featherweight Title on: January 23, 2022, 12:04:34 PM
Congrats to the winners, I see that most of the posters here were betting on Magsayo, you enjoy the day.  Smiley

That was so lucky for Magsayo, Rusell got injured so he took advantage of it.
If Rusell wasn't injured, I think Magsayo might lose in this fight because the scorecards result were very close, one judge even score a draw.

The judge that scores the draw is questionable given the compu box results but this is boxing a lot of controversies when it comes to going to the judges' score, Magsayo is being very careful because he knows he is fighting a strong fighter with a very good experience but like all the opinions here he is indeed lucky, Gary Russell can call a rematch if there is a clause in their contract, the argument is he is not 100% although it's not Magsayo's fault.

As always, they would favor the champion but not enough cheating for this fight. Scoring a draw is insane, they see that the champion is only fighting with one hand and there's no way he could win as Magsayo is also fast and fierce in the fight, maybe next time the favor would go to Magsayo as he is the current champion.
