Two teams from the last chance qualifiers are still in for the last batch of games for Dota 2, The International. We're now down to the top 4 teams and the two teams that I'm saying are Team Liquid and Team Secret. While for Team Secret, they're now guaranteed for the top 3. And Team Liquid is guaranteed for the top 4 and they're about to face Team Aster in the lower bracket. The top 4 teams remaining are the following:
  • Team Secret
  • Tundra
  • Team Liquid
  • Team Aster
Aside from these, PSG.LGD is already out and we've likely seen the very last games of faith_bian which he said that he's going into retirement. One of the best offlaners for me and a former TI champ too, Wings gaming will always be remembered.
2502  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will ethereum be profitable anytime in the future? on: October 23, 2022, 05:38:15 PM
With change in algorithm and rising electricity bills can mining ethereum be profitable again in the future?
You can't mine it anymore. But asking if it's profitable, I would like to say yes. It's still the 2nd top altcoin in the market and that's why it's highly profitable in the future.
Don't forget about the upgrade that has been made to it has certainly improved a lot through the Ethereum London upgrade. And one of its features was a burning mechanism for each of the transactions that we make, a fee or portion of Ethereum from there is burned currently.

Ja Morant dropped 49 points in their game against the Rockets! Jalen Green also did great and there's no other front-runner on this team despite being one year with the team, his contribution is enormous, and not surprised that he's got the second pick for round 1 last year.
Those that haven't watched some games of Ja should start watching him. Although he's got some bitter statements last time against MJ, this boy got really has something to show aside just from being athletic.
He already proved himself last season, he will be a hall of famer, I'm hoping that he will stay healthy so injury will not kill his career. That game we've seen how athletic he is, it's fun to watch the Memphis with him due to lots of highlights. Also, great job by Jalen Green, there's no superstar in the team but he is playing hard, so soon we might see him leading this team.
That's the deterrent for most of these stars including him, having an injury. We saw it happen in many of them and how they're able to get back hard after their recovery. These two got no superstars but doing great jobs on their respective teams.

I think there's no question about Ja's athleticism, it was in full display as well last year with highlite dunks and block shots. But he got injured against the Warriors so we didn't see the full potential of the series.

Jalen Green as well, I think Houston should build around him, this young lad is very promising as well with a huge 33 points. They just fell short as I thought that they are going to upset the Memphis here. But Ja won't let that happen in a big scoring game.
They're on the lead and that's disappointing when they were not able to maintain their lead. Well, both teams have two great prospects and these could be the future. While others are talking about a new prospects like Wembanyama, let's take a look first on who are in the league and that's another story to talk to.

https://www.coindesk.com/policy/2022/10/18/eu-countries-must-be-ready-to-block-crypto-mining-commission-says/
EU Countries Must Be Ready to Block Crypto Mining, Commission Says
"The European Union's executive arm also wants blockchains to show energy-efficiency labels and to end crypto tax breaks.
Europe represents 10% of global proof-of-work mining"

Can this affect the price of bitcoin or is this another anti-mining statement?
I don't think that there will be any effect on the price of bitcoin just because another continent has said something against mining and bitcoin. Just like the typical statements from countries that have said something about banning bitcoin et. al., the price doesn't react so much anymore with that. I think this has something to do about centralization and that's what they want to implement so they want to ban PoW and wanted to be favorable with PoS.
2507  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you win so big on: October 21, 2022, 10:33:41 PM
Winning $50k won't be enough to change your lifestyle. That's not enough. It would make sense to me if that's more than a hundred thousand dollars in profit then somehow that will change some of my habits but not entirely my lifestyle.
Maybe like a million dollars, there will be a shift quickly in how I live since I've got a lot of money but I'm not there yet. Inflation is high these days and that amount could be spent somewhere else in a fast manner.
2508  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency and Gambling on: October 21, 2022, 09:32:29 PM
Many people still think of cryptocurrency as gambling. While gambling relies on chance, cryptocurrencies rely on arithmetic and cryptography.

Given the parallels between cryptocurrency and gambling, this makes sense. Both are fast-paced, the value of crypto is unpredictable.

Cryptocurrency is chance-based, rooted in exceptional circumstances like influencer opinions, values might drastically change.

And both crypto and gambling (online gambling) are accessible all day and night.
Crypto is speculative while gambling depends on the games that you play and there goes the luck-based and analysis based. People do quickly realize chances and risks as a gamble.
And investing or owning crypto has that if your sole purpose is to make them as investments which all of us are treating like that. While for gambling, if you're just playing there, you can't consider it as an investment unless you invest in a bankroll of a casino.

Who's feeling sad about the lost of RNG?
Losing a very long game feels bad for sure and it sucks that covid made their situation worse since they're cruising at the start of the groups.
True, only xNova was present on the stage and his teammates were represented by teddy bears with masks and headsets. The feeling when the game has ended and xNova has to meet and shake hands with Entity feels really sad. Somnus has already made a post that he's quitting or much better to say retiring after all of those failures in TI, he didn't get one to be a champ. I can see that the Dota 2 community feels bad for the team and they're all admiring not just xNova but the whole roster for RNG. Also, the roster of RNG-LOL has also contracted covid, the 5 of them.

Go back to the roots and reasons why you bought that in the first place. Look at it if you still have the same reason why you think you have to hold it.
The situation that it has got right now, proves that no matter how high a project goes, the dump and bear market can also pull it down as much as it can.
And when the bull run comes, nobody knows if this token will also be part of the tokens that will surge just like the bull run that we've got, it's unknown and hard to predict if we're looking at current situation.
2511  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESports betting -CS:GO, DOTA 2, LOL, Valorant - Sportsbet.io discussion thread on: October 20, 2022, 05:07:32 PM
Well it ended even tougher than expected with them loosing with clean 2:0 against Thunder Awaken, nobody has seen this one coming except strongest TA supporters maybe.
It's also been said that they've got the advantage by picking who they want to face on the upper bracket and they ended up losing with that choice they've made, too sad for EG. If they don't learn the lesson of being beaten by TA then they should also not be confident against beastcoast tomorrow, another SA team. Last TI, it was a continuous pick of Storm for Abed. During their two matches with TA, they still have picked SF for our boy Arturo and I think if that match got into 3rd game, they'll probably still pick for SF for him.  Grin
2512  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Metaverse still a thing on: October 20, 2022, 03:46:26 PM
I've heard of news not so long ago about Decentraland, one of the biggest and most funded metaverse projects out there having a measly daily active users of less than 40. On the other hand, Meta, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg's answer to Metaverse has been receiving flak in multiple aspects of his still in-progress creation. I also noticed that less and less projects include implementation of their project or a fundamental of it in the Metaverse as a form of future-proof answer. So this begs the question, is Metaverse still the future? is it just a fever dream we once had that we are now waking up on?
I would say that they still have a portion in the future and that's making a lot of doubts these days because we're in a bear market. That factor really has decreased the belief in it and its full potential because it's not the same as last year when almost most people have been telling that Metaverse is the future. The bigger part of it was built during the ATHs and through hype but since we're in the reality now, it's being tested and we'll see if it will stand on the test of time and if it will survive.
2513  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: October 20, 2022, 12:46:36 PM
I felt bad for EG for choosing Thunder Awaken only to be trashed by the SA team.
They've become too confident with them, they should have reviewed the matches of TA before picking them as their match-up. Well, their advantage of picking who they will be up to went worse and they were the one that has been sent to the lower bracket, good riddance though.
Who's feeling sad about the lost of RNG? It's only xnova on the stage while his teammates were isolated while playing. They've put up a good match against Entity and the game is likely the longest on this whole TI run, GGs to them.
2514  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Too risky to leave BTC right now on: October 20, 2022, 11:16:14 AM
I came from the grocery a while ago and my former colleague was also there we chitchatted for a while and talked about bitcoin. She told me about how she has missed the train and didn't listen to me when I told her that I'm into bitcoin a few years ago. Well, I didn't encourage her because I've got a bad experience encouraging people to invest in bitcoin. So, there's now the other side of that story when I was very encouraging to my friends about investing in bitcoin. But after someone blamed me for their losses because of the situation of the market, I'm not voluntarily giving them suggestions if they should invest or not but, I'm giving them the idea about it. We're lucky that we're still here and still holding on despite the market situation but soon, it will be good again and it's not the best time to think about leaving.
2515  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 19, 2022, 11:03:39 PM
Well, it seems that they are back on the drawing board again because coach Ham is still having some hard time drawing the right plan for the team. Although it's too early too say because the season have just started but Lakers won't reach far if they will continue with that kind of play.
I missed the opening and I've already seen a lot of disappointment from many fans on what the Lakers did. Yeah, it's still the start and they didn't go well against the GSW but it's better for them to do better for their next match as these little losses add up until they're close to the playoffs. But amazingly, I've taken a look at Russ' numbers and they're impressive.
Tomorrow, they're up to match again to the other Los Angeles, the Clippers. Maybe, they'll do better against them and will retrieve and redeem themselves back.

I don’t think the Lakers looked that bad. Their shots just weren’t falling and they were playing against the champs. I am excited to watch the battle of Los Angeles tomorrow. John Wall & Kawhi Leonard playing together with Paul George is like the most injured players ever finally all seeing the court at once. It’s a must watch on TNT as who know how many games those 3 will play together healthy.

I am disappointed I won’t be able to watch the Nets big 3 and Zion’s debut tonight. That game should’ve been picked up by ESPN.
Mostly from what I've read from my friends, they're all disappointed. But I guess that's how it goes when their favorite team has lost. Clipper's roster is strong and is like isn't hyped at all, unlike the other teams. This is an exciting match and even if it's still just the 2nd day, it's a match that we shouldn't match. Those three playing together, we'll see if they're going to be playing together as what we're expecting against the Lakers, this is a strong match up.
2516  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is this possible? on: October 19, 2022, 10:08:56 PM
I'm not sure if it's possible that the hacker will be able to have that fully remote control of your keyboard. But how they're going to gain access to the private key if it's not stored on your PC? It's better to be like that and keep your keys offline. And basically, with the description of what you've said, it's likely the clipboard malware that gives a different address whenever you're going to copy-paste your address when you're about to make a transaction and transfer it to your own addresses so, instead of yours, the hacker's address is the one appearing. If you're not keen enough and you don't check the address before you send it, you'll send it to them wrongly.

2518  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: And officially worst year for investors on: October 19, 2022, 01:31:16 PM
So now we  If I invest some money then I can get double money.
Don't be too sure about doubling it. I know that we'll make some money but you're unsure if it's going to be doubled or maybe a portion of it or maybe more than that.  Cheesy
This desire or expectation to double money instantly like this is what often makes people, especially beginners, disappointed with cryptocurrencies. Why? because we know that crypto investment does not always guarantee that we will always get a profit, let alone multiply profits. This will depend on several things, including market conditions and how patient we are to make the investment, including in what crypto we invest.

Not only that, these desires or hopes sometimes make newbies an easy target for scammers by promising their money to double instantly by investing in these scammers.
Yeah, that desire of earning to double their capital so quickly makes them the easy target for these scammers. A simple few words of tricks and they're going to be gullible and about talking about how much they can earn so quick. Having that gullible thought will make them the easiest target because of some promises like making their money double is what music to their ears but it's more than music to the ears of those scammers and tricksters that are targeting and looking for them.
2519  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Zero KYC tolerance gambling platforms on: October 18, 2022, 03:14:17 PM
Is KYC verification very important to crypto gambling websites or this has something to do with their regulations rule?
It's important to them and also has something to do with what they're complying with as they're registered enterprises.

Where can one gamble with zero verification requirements?
It came from the Duelbits rep as it's posted by someone on their thread who has asked them if they won't ask for KYC. And the response is yes, they won't ask you KYC as long as there's nothing to be complied about and you're not that huge depositor and gambler.
2520  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is good leadership enough to fight corruption? on: October 18, 2022, 11:42:22 AM
I just wish that most government leaders and officials are like-minded with the leaders and authorities of Japan. Why? Because if their name is involved with corruption and anomalies, they're the ones to judge themselves and they can't take the shame that they'll bring to themselves and to their family's reputation, and the worst is they're the ones taking their own lives. It's being committed to the oath of public service and means that they won't allow any corruption to touch their hands.
