1921  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My father thinks I'm working in a shop,he didn't know I'm bitcointalking. on: February 25, 2023, 09:29:05 PM
The past generation of working is truly different from today that we've got. More physical jobs tend to be true while remote jobs are being looked at as something odd and not actual jobs. This is for those freelancing and remote jobs. While OP is describing campaigns, they come and go so he has to think of a contingency plan if ever his campaign suddenly stops. This isn't new to most other remote jobs that companies do layoffs even the big tech companies like Google and Amazon. My tip to him and for everyone, while you're earning whatever amount it is, practice saving and investing.
1922  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Game that you suffer consistent losses but still keep playing? on: February 25, 2023, 11:17:17 AM
What you are experiencing is not a secret anymore, it is also an experience that is often experienced by many gamblers, slots are the casino game that many gamblers choose and it is very difficult for them to switch to other types of games because every time we haven't won, we always think that we will soon get it and after we get wins also always think that soon the big one will come out and we get it, it is indeed quite strange because it is difficult for us not to play slots when we have entered our casino account even though losses suffer more than vice versa.
Don't forget about dice too, I'm enjoying dice and even if I'm losing there, it won't just stop me. And the same with people that do love to play slots and can't get themselves stop when they're already, it's making dicers want to play more because no matter what the standing you've got you'll still get to play and enjoy it. When you're at the peak of losses, there's only one thing that we can think of and that's take a few percentage back from those losses. But then, instead of we successfully take back what we want, we're contributing more to our self infliction with losses.
1923  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My $300 bet won $417,000 on: February 25, 2023, 09:15:25 AM
Just wow. I can't even imagine myself winning such profit with my bets and turning that a lot. Congratulations!
It's rare to see someone who has won that many many times and want to share it but since this is a forum and you're not required with any personal information, you're free to share and inspire others. The lesson here is what you've said of betting only to the games and sports that you know because that will be your edge if you've got plans to prolong your bankroll and win bigger amounts.
1924  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much time For next halving? on: February 25, 2023, 08:08:25 AM
There are several websites that do keep post updated about the countdown for the halving like this: https://bitcoinblockhalf.com/
And if the bitcoin halving will affect the price? Definitely. We gotta learn from the past where halving did a major contribution to the price of bitcoin and to the entire crypto market. As most of the crypto is also going wherever bitcoin is going, they'll also increase in prices but not all of them will still be alive by that time. It's very likely that we see the price of bitcoin go up after the halving, it may be on an instant just after the halving but give it time until a year or two for its effect.
1925  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESports betting -CS:GO, DOTA 2, LOL, Valorant - Sportsbet.io discussion thread on: February 24, 2023, 11:17:20 PM
I'm hooked on Esports today but focusing on Dota 2 more and I took this bet , hoping Ehome will win 2nd map as 1st map they managed to trow a pretty good advantage to TSM.
Ehome lost 2 games against TSM. And with that, they're at the bottom for group A together with Execration. Still, there are about 2 days for this group stage to end. I'm not just sure if that's enough for them to recover until the end.
Aside from that, there are still about two matches that haven't ended their games yet that are still on the first game.
The matches are beastcoast and Entity, Shopify Rebellion, and Knights. This is for group b.
1926  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I gave investment advice to my grandfather. on: February 24, 2023, 09:16:18 PM
My grandfather has some wealth. Now my grandfather will invest all his wealth in Bitcoin. I told my grandfather not to invest all your wealth in Bitcoin. I suggested to my grandfather that Bitcoin not only has the potential for profit, but also the potential for loss. So you invest some wealth in Bitcoin. You don't have to sit on the street if your investment suffers.

My only question to all, was I able to give my grandfather the right advice??
I guess so. But apart from that, is your grandfather have some other source of income like a pension aside from that wealth that you've mentioned?
The age of your grandfather is also a factor in his needs. I think he's got to cover all of his expenses and even if he wants to invest in bitcoin, at his age, he needs to be more conservative and delicate in spending his money. If it's me, even if I'm pro-bitcoin and want to let him invest on it, I'll be sensitive on how he's going to spend his wealth if it's all that he's got.
1927  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: February 24, 2023, 08:10:26 PM
PSG.LGD is not in a good placement in the Lima Major. It's obvious that they are having tons of troubles when it comes to their picks and what strategies they need to employ in order to get a more comfortable game. Honestly, I was expecting that they'll be miles ahead of GG when it comes to group stages being the LGD that I used to know, but it seems that they are not that cohesive yet as a team and they still have a lot of internal struggles to resolve especially in hero picks.
Gaimin Gladiators are actually good even in the regionals. I watched their games and Quinn, and the crew was actually on point every time. Doing well in Lima is just the continuation of what they have started early in the season. I know they will finish strong in this major.

It is too early to say that LGD has problems since it is too early in the tournament. We are just not used to PSG starting weak but maybe they can finish strong this time.
And with the 2nd day, currently, I see them at rank 1 and they're doing good on the group stages. Right now, I am watching them playing against Execration.
The game is in favor of Execration and this is just the first game and I think if this game ever ends in favor of Execration, they might just get a par and tie for this series as 1-1.
1928  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have bitcoin, what do you guys recommend I buy as well on: February 24, 2023, 01:36:23 PM
First, keep it as is. Keep those bitcoins that you're holding and if you're going to buy some altcoins, don't use your bitcoin on them.
That's a mistake that I've done before that I'll never do again. I still got some few btc and I'm not going to trade it for something else. If there are projects that I'm interested with, I'll just use my other funds on it but never will I exchange my btc for those.
1929  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: it will definetly save you on: February 23, 2023, 08:26:00 PM
It sums up the thought that as long as you're seeing the profit, don't forget to take it. The same with trading, you don't know what's with the market and so as with gambling, you'll never know how long the losing streak is going to show if you already made some decent profits.
So, there's still the opportunity for someone to take those profits even if they're not too big. Do not forget to take it while you can because you will not notice later on, it's gone.
1930  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there a way to invest in food related industry to recoup market inefficiency on: February 23, 2023, 01:43:15 PM
So if it's related to stocks, aside from the agricultural stocks then how about buying those manufacturer's stock? I guess until the war ends between Ukraine and Russia, most of the ingredients in the food industry will hide in the shadow of that war for their reasoning of shortage and increase in prices. One traditional way that I can think of is to acres or hectares of land and be the one to make those crops and be the source of food although this won't be easy and will take a lot of time.
1931  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: February 23, 2023, 11:44:42 AM
Well, the game was done between Execration and Tundra. And as I've said, Tundra as the TI champs doesn't mean that they won't lose to any team.
The series ended with a 1-1 and that's actually a good start with Execration. The Lima major has officially kicked and I've missed some games right now, I'm watching Entity versus Geek Slate. 50 minutes in the game yet the kill/death score is 7-12 in favor of Entity.

Even PSG.LGD has lost a map against EG and they ended up draw in the series. LGD is now playing against TSM and they are on the verge of losing again. TSM have a very large lead , 23K in net worth. It will be hard to comeback to that but it is still doable. I think LGD will lose a map against TSM.

Group A has a lot of Draw matches today while Group B have more sweep. I think I'll be betting draw on Group A tomorrow. I forgot that today is the start of Lima Major that is why I do not have any bets placed but turned out lucky for me since my prediction is way off. Will start to bet tomorrow.
It's the same for Group A and B for sweeps. Group A has 5 sweeps while Group B has got 4 sweeps too. I have forgotten yesterday that it was the official start of the major's group stage but still, I've watched a few games and it's enjoyable.
Today is the 2nd day and this is where most teams have to be more serious since it's a point system and only a best of 2 per series. It's still undecided for most teams until we see day 4 and day 5 which is likely the crucial part for most teams especially to the bottom teams.
1932  Economy / Economics / Re: To cut financial ties with original family benefits you in the long run on: February 23, 2023, 10:26:40 AM
Those that don't want to work and are married already, they're too dependent on their parents. It's okay to their parents but in the eyes of society, it's all wrong.
They are already grown up and they can go to work and have themselves grind with any career that they may choose since they're older now. But being still dependent on their parents while building another family, there will be various reactions to that kind of setup. Because those working and independent people will have that thought that it's a wrong setup but, it's understandable if it's just temporary.
Only a few parents would really be still continuing to support their child even on their marriage life but majority would really be sharing up on the same opinion about on letting your child to be independent already since he had been starting on building his own family.Being that reliant into your parents support does really show that you arent really that prepared on having one.As an individual then you should really make yourself that
independent and you should be thinking that its not your family or parents responsibility on raising up your own family. This is why on the time that you are deciding on creating one then it
is really just right that you should be thinking up this way.
It depends on the culture of the country but I think, no parent would want to see their children suffer even if they already have a married life. As much as they want their children to settle in good, if there are problems they want to be there and be of great help to their children so that their relationship and dealing with new chapters of their life would be easy. That's what parents are but, I know also that there are parents that want their children to learn things on their own and deal with their own hardships.
1933  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambler Loses 1.4 million USD in a bet with lower than 1.01 odds! on: February 22, 2023, 11:03:49 PM
Average joe could hardly able to get the total sum of 1+M onpoint on which they could make use of it on their gambling bets which means that this guy might be a multi-millionaire but who really knows, right?
It's possible that some average joe could bet with this much and it just came from his winnings as well. When someone confidently thinks that he'll win with such odds, he can gamble with all the remaining funds that he has.
But that confidence also made him lose as this is gambling, even the tiniest percentage like a zero point something on the odds still means a chance of losing or winning.
1934  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hardware wallet questions on: February 22, 2023, 09:46:18 PM
* Can a Trezor or hardware wallet generate a new private key or recovery seed?
Yes, and that's why if you're able to generate a private key and then used that to deposit some assets there, always save first the private key of your trezor. Because it's possible that you're wanting to generate a new one and forget the one that you generated before that contains the assets you've deposited. If so, it will completely be wiped and those assets are gone forever.

* Can a hardware wallet be formatted and start afresh?
Yes, I did this to my Ledger and then just used my old private keys because it seems that some error had occurred but then, it's all good.
1935  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: February 22, 2023, 08:47:29 PM
Actually, every game there is going to be unpredictable but that's it, we all have different thoughts about the upcoming games and you just did it earlier than us so good luck.
Tundra still got more experienced than Execration and they're the last TI champs so the difference between the two teams is truly wide. But that doesn't mean that they won't lose against any team.
We can pick based on what we think will win but there are still factors which might affect the game or the teams that we chose and they/we will lose the game. He is wondering on why there are many people voted for tundra but you already explained here the reason why but again there is no guarantees in gambling.

An underperforming or considered to be a weak team by the majority, can still miraculously win if they haven't given their best and the opposing team did. The same to what I watched recently, it was also an esports game and the last time's champion got beaten up by another team. I think that team never experience to win any major tournament before.

If you're still single and you struggle financially, your parents will want you to be there. But if you're married and you are still under the roof with your parents and your spouse, that's something else.
However, there are parents that don't want to see their children suffer and they want to be of help as much as they can no matter what is the situation that you're dealing with. And that's why they are the ones that wanting their children to stay on their wing even if they're old enough.

Parents are very emotionally attached to their children because, since birth, they have taken care of you, and they just do it for good. It would be nice to talk with your parents if they are still doing this since you can't stand up with your own feet if they are still there helping you. Though there are still people who rely on their parents and don't want to go to work even if they are married, I couldn't understand why they are still doing that and not going out of their comfort zone.

Abit early but lets start betting on the Lima Major

Im going with this for the opening game

Pretty sure that PSG.LGD is going to dominate but Execration might win a single map against Tundra so yeah its kinda weird as most people will choose Tundra but this season, Tundra is not really dominating the DPC so there is a good chance that it they might win
Actually, every game there is going to be unpredictable but that's it, we all have different thoughts about the upcoming games and you just did it earlier than us so good luck.

1939  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Do Gamblers Do This? on: February 21, 2023, 09:55:15 AM
It's because it's hard to control the excitement and goal that we're thinking of once we start to gamble. Those that are sharing their experiences have some lessons to tell and that's why they're giving others a warning on what they must do if they ever encounter that urge and feeling when they gamble. Acceptance is key on understanding that a gambler is already on a hard situation but, many are not going on that part because acceptance of failure and loss is hard to take.
1940  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What If There Is A Ban on: February 21, 2023, 08:22:27 AM
Where will you be and what kind of life will it be and how is it going to impact yours?
I just have to bear and deal with it. There's nothing much I can do with it if there's a ban on everything related to bitcoin. But you know what's good with this matter is that they don't have complete control over it. Even if they ban it, it's only going to be available with things that they can see and it's hard for them to monitor transactions and know who are the people behind it. I have my investment in bitcoin and that will have a big impact on me but I'll just have to adjust whatever is going to be the policy where I am living.
