I'm still upset that Coinex ran away with 10 UNO of mine... Slowly trying to mine that amount back. :/
I see you've been a long term Un miner, supporting the network. Uno needs it's core dedicated miners.  I'm sending you a couple of block rewards to say thanks for sticking with Un.
2542  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Vanity Wallets for UNO on: August 06, 2014, 03:47:42 PM
Cryptapus posted info here about generating a UNO vanity address using his overhauled version of VanityGen. If you know how to compile his code, this is your best path to creating a UNO vanity address.

Being a lowly Windows user, I wasn't able to compile his code, so I set out to try and find a Windows program that could do this. It wasn't easy, but I found something that worked.

This article got me started with a compiled Windows version of Vanitygen, which which you can download from here.  The link seems trustworthy, and it passed a virus scan I ran it through.

...

Hi FK,

Watch out, if you use the original vanitygen program with the -X option, that sets the correct public key prefix, but I believe it may not set the correct private key prefix. Please try to import that private key, send to it, and send from it in a blank wallet.dat, I'm worried that it won't work. Hence why I needed to create a fork (I've actually submitted the changes to the master vanitygen branch, but it has not been merged yet, or it may not ever be merged, https://github.com/samr7/vanitygen/pull/61).

Unfortunately, I am not able to make an executable for Windows as I'm Linux only... If someone can, PM me and I'll add a link to it...

Regards,
I asked a guy I work with compile Cryptapus' vanity wallet project for Windows today. It's working great for me. The addresses it created imported successfully to my unencrypted UNO wallet.  I sent and received Un through the vanity addresses, so it all seems to work fine.

You can download it here:

https://www.mediafire.com/download/3v49o1qfyvx1jvr/vanityuno.zip

VirusTotal Result.
VirusTotal is showing one false positive out of 54 scans, but I think it's fine.

I hope you Windows users have fun with it. Thanks, Cryptapus!

My withdrawals from Cryptsy finally worked, I had to run about 5 withdrawal requests / verifications to move about 24UNOs out to my cold storage, total pain in the ass.

Cryptsy put the Un back into my wallet today. I'll have to take it out in small chunks for now.

I can't get Uno out of Cryptsy, and I can't get Uno into Mintpal (200 confirms).  Grin

I swear I will never, ever again disregard my own hard-learned rule when transferring crypto:  always do a small test transfer prior to a large transfer. Always.

You're correct...  importing the private keys failed. I've pulled it for now. Will repost after we can get a Windows compiled version.
Thanks for the heads up. I'll see if I can get this compiled for Windows.

I swear Cryptsy is f@#%@in with me today....All of my withdrawals are pending

Its not just you. I've have one w/d pending for 3 4 hours now.

I suppose they have to pull it out of cold storage. Wink

Are you withdrawing tens, hundreds or thousands of UNO with these problems?
Yes.

I suggest holding off on Cryptsy transfers for now. Better to be able to trade your Un than have it stuck in limbo.

Funds still stuck, and Cryptsy is working on it.
----
FK,
I deeply apologize for the delay in response to your issue.

Withdrawals are currently experiencing delay. Transactions are currently flowing and it will be posted anytime soon.

Please be patient as we resolve the issue and get your coins moving to you. Rest assured that your funds are safe and the withdrawals will process as soon as possible.

Thank you and have a nice day!

Sincerely,
Stephanie

I'd hold off on Cryptsy withdrawals for now, if I could.

Are you a Redditor? Or whatever they're called?

If so, stop by the UNO Reddit and share the love.  I'd like to see Reddit become a more active. If you can help, see you at...

BCT is Un Heaven to me, but where ever there are two or more gathered in the name of Un, there I shall be also. So go forth, Un apostles, and share the good news of Uno. There are future followers on troll boxes and relay chats and twitter and strange message boards that need to learn about Un's great power.

How does one address have 56K UNO?  That can't be a good thing~!

I've asked Cryptsy 3 times if they can comment on whether it's their cold storage wallet, but they have not responded.
There are some amazing coincidences that keep me for ruling out Wolong. His announcement of his pending ForEx service the same day after months of silence, and then there was that weird chatroom "leak" months ago where (presumably) Wolong said he would use Uno as an arbitrage instrument. Take it all with a grain of salt...

Maybe we should try this: pick a time, and everyone withdraw their Uno coins to their local wallets from cryptsy all the same time.  Then we'll see if they have to tap cold storage to honor the withdraw requests.
If we pull out 10k Un, maybe it might force Cryptsy to tap cold storage and we'd see it move.  Or... on the other hand, if Wolong is reading this all he needs to do is move some coins on that same day to screw with us. But maybe we would find some blockchain evidence... maybe not.  Smiley  I guess there's really no way to know for certain unless Cryptsy or Wolong offers an explanation.

If it's not Cryptsy's wallet, remember that all of the coins in that wallet were acquired on the market; they're not part of any premine scheme. While it skews the distribution on our Chainz explorer, they're still fairly acquired Un.
2551  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update Now to 0.9.5 wallet on: August 03, 2014, 08:36:59 PM
Steady buying, like Rojan's is what props up the stockmarkets.  People working like robots for these large corporations that strongly encourage them to buy into their retirement plans.

Except with UNO, it's real value that we actually support and believe in.

Something to think about....

A new, stabilizing sector for UNO?

To me, UNO is desirable because Blazr2 has hit on a nearly perfect model for creating a store-of-value coin.

Rapid creation of the first 200k coins thru POW over a year is near perfect for a store of value coin. It's much more fair than the new "1 week POW" coins where big stakes can be accumulated before anyone has any idea what's going on.

And NO premine, while arguably unfair to Blazr2, sets Un apart from so many other coins that are subject to pre-mine pump & dumps. Investing in a coin with a 2%-10% premine, where that coin will take 6, 10, 30 years to mine out is a crazy investment in the long term fraught with risk.   Yes, I understand the advantages of a premine (and sometimes  I wish Un had one to play with), but again -- this is one way in which Un is different from other coins. Premines make coins inherently risky in the earliest days and effectively kill a coin (and your investment) if the dev team disappears or dumps the pre-mine. In the Un experiment there is no Pre-mine. The result is that Un is perceived to be a fairer coin.

A fair-start is not a "feature,"; you can't just program that in later. If a coin doesn't have the fair start at the beginning, it will never be a fair start coin.

So what about all these coins that have cool features like privacy, or messaging, or distributed exchanges, or phone calling, or whatever, built right into the wallet?
Yes they're cool, but they are just features... a feature can be stapled on to virtually any coin after the fact. Cool features still won't make any coin a better store of value than UNO.

Crypto is fun and often innovative. There will continue to be lots of really interesting, worthy crypto experiments; we see a dozen launch every day now. The best cryptocurrencies from the past will be carried forward into the future, but the future is crowded and not all coins will be there. I am confident UNO will be there, because it has what so many other coins lack and is particularly suited to thrive as a store of value. UNO is the closest equivalent to gold that exists in the crypto world, imo.

Un had a good week. It's fun to celebrate.  I'm sure we'll have our bad weeks, too, as we have in the past. But why not let off a little steam.
Un is a serious investment opportunity, even if the community doesn't walk around in suites and ties all day long.

I saw somebody created an altcoin meme thread somewhere...  yeah, here it is: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=716859.0
Uno should own that thread!

In the UNO community, we have enjoyed Cryptapus' services for several months now.  They're very reliable, up all the time. The dice games are very popular. The paper wallets look great, the faucet is used many times every day, and the explorer is always right on.   His services helped us consolidate our community by demonstrating momentum. Cryptapus has always been quick to respond to any questions that come up.   If you're looking to add value to your coin, I highly recommend working with Cryptapus.

I think I am the victim of a timewarp attack again. I went out to CoinMarketCap.com, and they had next month's UNO price posted:

Couple of notes from me.

Someone said don't sell any, but I agree with FK.  There has to be a market for the price to move up.  So, I've been trying to make one at bittrex because that is the only exchange I trust anymore, and so far I've had 38 UNO sold at or above 005 and not had any dumped on my buys Lol.  Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

I stopped using Cryptsy months ago precisely because of the halving withdrawals you guys describe.  They didn't seem to care about it then when I bitched, doubt they'll care now.

Nice to see price moving up.  I kinda thought we were screwed when all that stolen uno got dumped at 100 sat, but whoever got it must be holding or selling it slowly.  Good for them.

Still lurking, ttyl.

Thanks for helping the new Bittrex market. I have high hopes for them! It's a great exchange.

Re Cryptsy withdrawal issue:  Remember that annoying bot on Cryptsy that for months was placing all of those "dust" orders in the Uno order book? I suspect we're seeing some effect from that now. If you bought 1 uno on Cryptsy last month and in the process of buying 1 Un, you swept up 100 of those tiny dust transactions, and now you're transferring 100 Uno like that from Cryptsy to your external wallet, the high number of inputs seems to be causing Cryptsy some trouble. I'm just guessing on that, but recently I moved about 20 Un from Crytpsy and it had more than 300 inputs. I'm sure they'll work it out soon.

Hi All,

i'm relatively new to UNO, and currently mining on miningpool.co.

I have a "huge" difference between the amount of transferred coins from miningpool and the amount of my wallet.
Rescanning or Reindexing doesn't change anything, it still shows the same amount :-( The Wallet is connecting and syncing without problems. It seems that just some transaction arrives...

e.g. ubDbDdg4Rk1fUKME3wh7WHj93QXYhoFWi3 should show 14.097 UNO but shows only 8.566 Uno

Any hint or idea?

Thanks,
Peter

Hi Peter, welcome to the community & thanks for mining Uno.

2 possibilities come to mind.

First, are you running the new 0.9.5 wallet?  If not, then your wallet is looking at the wrong fork. Updating to 0.9.5 might restore your lost uno.

The less desirable scenario might be if your pool was on the the wrong fork when the Uno was mined. Uno forked when KGW was implemented. Not all pools were able to make the switch in time, or didn't receive the message. In that case, your Uno were probably mined at a lower difficulty, and won't be valid on the main fork.

I checked Miningpool.co and they are on the correct fork right now, so I'm hoping you're just using an older wallet.
2560  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / WalletGenerator Adds UNO on: July 31, 2014, 03:58:15 PM
WalletGenerator.Net has added support for UNO! Check it out at

http://walletgenerator.net/?currency=Unobtanium

This is the second paper wallet service to support UNO. Cryptapus provides UNO paper wallets at http://cryptap.us/uno/paperwallet.html

Now you can choose between the designs on the two sites. Both services support BIP38 password protection for your private key, which is recommended, especially if you're creating a public/private keypair for something as permanent as a Bitkee engraved wallet.
