2541  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH could take over. on: August 09, 2022, 06:27:09 PM
Am I the only one seeing that ETH is decoupling from BTC? If this happens and Ethereum becomes a better target for institutional then it is finished, many altcoins depends on Ethereum but the whole market depends on BTC, what do you think will happen
I think there's a kind of awe and respect with which altcoins hodl Bitcoin. For that, I don't know if that which you're speculating will ever happen because for a very long time ETH has shown itself useful as a smart contract with massive utility, yet its price hasn't measured up to what benefits it presents to the crypto industry. Sadly, there are new projects coming out with their own blockchain and smart contracts and that's beginning to split the strength of Ethereum through competitiveness. If we go by what utilities Eth has for this industry, its price ought to be as high as what Bitcoin is now or even higher than that.
2542  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best time to buy or wait a little bit ? on: August 09, 2022, 05:59:07 PM
Im planning to buy btc price around: 19500$ at the time of writting .
Its DONE !
Not that I want to go into your private things, but yesterday the price was under $18k, and you're buying today for $19 500?
Don't forget that there's something called "chasing price". There are people who love to indulge such. They wait for price rise to kick in because they're looking at rising trade volume to assure themselves that such crypto has started gaining momentum for them to come in. Only shrewd investors want to buy in when volume is low and market is relatively sleeping.  Those chasing price forget one of the Warren Buffett's principles of investment – buy when others are scared and sell when they're greedy.

For the OP, now is a good time to buy.
2543  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A little profit for $17k+ buyers on: August 09, 2022, 04:52:42 PM
for me i am seeing a fake bull what are you seeing
Well, it wouldn't be; looking at it now from hindsight that it wasn't a bull trap as price has risen above that level. By the way, buying at that level won't be a bad place even if it turns out to be a fake move. Bitcoin has given everyone enough discount if we what to consider that price once went past $64,000 and now trading below $25k. It's something to console anyone who buys now and price dips. We should quickly remember that there were investors who bought when price touched ATH last year.
2544  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: There is a new scam going around on Twitter, WHY THOUGH?!? on: August 09, 2022, 04:15:40 PM
The problem is people are too greedy, they are looking for means to double their assets so whenever a good offer is tender in front of them they take it and its nothing but bait, crypto space will teach many newbies and even old users to be humble by force, right now not even airdrops and free offers are safe anymore.
Your comment lends credence to what I indicated earlier in this thread. Greed is always the bane of eager free receivers. How can someone expect to receive where they didn't sow? Scam victims of this nature don't deserve to be pitied at all. I like sounding a bit nonchalant on this because the supposed victims are those who have a mindset of finding a shortcut to wealth. Otherwise they should know that making riches is a gradual thing. People should avoid any investment or engagement with mouth watery offers. The end thereof is often disastrous.
2545  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Error Analysis in Bitcointalk Forum on: August 09, 2022, 07:03:25 AM
As the subject or the title implies. Error is the mistake done by users in the forum knowingly or unknowingly. Error Analysis is the breaking down of mistakes done by the users in various places or boards. Error occurred almost every day from newbies to legendary member ranks in the forum.
Simply put – Mistake is a goof committed by one and discovered and corrected by the same person who committed it while error is a goof committed by one but discovered and corrected by someone else.

Plagiarism errors:
This is copy and paste errors. Some users copied an article from the net and edit it, paraphrase it and post it here to impress and have credit to their work.
This should be seen as property theft and viewed as a serious offence, whether here or outside. It's a ban offence here. Yes, we know there could be unintentional slips where users could harmlessly miss crediting sources of articles they cite and that's why the issue is put into perspective when being reviewed by mods. In all, it's important for users to put source links to write-ups that aren't theirs.

Posting errors:
A topic that is well suited at the speculation or reputation boards were seen in beginners & help or bitcoin discussion boards.
A way out of this is to ask moderators to move it to an appropriate place if you're in doubt you posted it in a right place. That's not much of a problem or offence.
2546  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to Upload Audio in Bitcointalk on: August 09, 2022, 05:50:23 AM
Listen to the audio that I uploaded and shared the link in this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5407508.msg60624586#msg60624586.
Ok, what the community is looking at with your OP is if it has a direct audio play here and not a link that takes someone to another site which is the case with what you've shared here. We are looking at the same thing that happens when users share pictures here. It's a direct view here. Can you get the audio to play here without taking us to another site?

~snipped~
I think this is a useless tutorial for Beginners & Help board because it has absolutely nothing to do with the bitcointalk forum or cryptocurrencies. You can basically post a link to anything you want and I don't think anyone needs a tutorial for that.
You're a bit harsh and uncharitable with your comment there. You don't need to tag someone's effort to make a didactic difference "useless". Yes, the effort may not be accurate or what it should be but you didn't have to put the poster down by that comment of yours. Please, let's be guarded.
2547  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Many people become binance futures full time traders as job on: August 08, 2022, 04:45:28 PM
U dont need to go anywhere u cam even do job with smart phone.
Honestly, nothing beats the feeling of successful trading. It's the best job on the earth to learn. Once you get a handle on it, the rest is enjoyment galore. The flexibility that trading affords can't be seen in any other income generating venture.

I think kids should also learn that in school instead of useless things but good job how to make decent incone without going anywhere or over work.
Yes, while I agree that kids ought to learn something dynamic and away from the analogue lectures of yester years; I'm of the opinion that it should be gradually broken into stages and introduced to them with the real trading part being the last stage in the passing out year. My reason is because trading engages the emotions and you don't want to experience the tantrum or near depression of a noob trader. So, exposing kids that early to the practical trading can cause them trauma if they don't get it right.
2548  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Benefits of been a bitcointalk member on: August 08, 2022, 01:50:34 PM
(3)Open Market for Trades: Bitcointalk has market where the member can trade openly with everyone, you can exchange your bitcoin and other coins with any buyer you desire and the help of Trust system in everyone profile has make this more transparent to sport who has good reputation with positive feedback and a likely scammers with negative feedback.
Be weary when it comes to transaction dealings, even with members with green default ratings. I've seen trusted members go rogue here. So, it's not a guarantee that those who are well trusted today won't misuse that privilege of trust tomorrow. Do your due diligence before trading with anyone.

(4)The Private Message: The demerit of this is that, newbies cannot message other members, they are restricted by default but ranks above can make use of this feature and communicates effectively.
That can also be changed if the higher ranked member wants by ticking the box. All the newbie has to do is tag the high ranker to check their pm in an open comment where the high ranker has posted and they will see the comment and uncheck the default setting. That's if it's what they want.

Have been involved with Crypto 6 months now and my portfolio is now only 20% down due to this run we are currently going through.

My main position is 55% in profit and I have been debating if I should take some to then buy back lower when we experience our next crash...
OP, no one can accurately advise you here based on what you've put out here. You didn't tell us what's in your portfolio and as such it will be difficult knowing what crypto that you've which is dipping or not. Not all cryptos rise or fall at the same time; that you should know. So, we can't judge every crypto by the parameters of others. Going forward, you should try your hands on learning the rudiments of technical analysis (TA). That's a better way of knowing how to guage price movement. It will even save you the stress of having to wait for others before taking or exiting trades.
2550  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie! Protect your name, it is your brand on: August 08, 2022, 11:55:56 AM
There is a funny sign: "How you call a boat, so it will float." Call it "victory" to be your winner, call it "trouble" and, accordingly, the name will let you down. But these are jokes. The main thing is not in the nickname itself, but in what kind of person wears it. I found here very, very sonorous names. One might say great ones, so what? Many have remained in the history of banned and fraudulent accounts.
That reminds me of the theory of the meaninglessness of meaning. What is in a name, really? May be nothing in the real sense. However, we can easily tag an expectation to a name. That's true. We expect anyone called demon or devil or Satan to be evil even without waiting for them to show their hand. That's the expectation but in practical reality it may not be so.

There are, of course, very stupid names, and this basically speaks of the property of the mind of a person who has chosen a lascivious nickname, but in general, I do not see any problems with the freedom to choose nicknames.
I hate usernames that have obscenity well written over them.
2551  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What am I missing on: August 08, 2022, 11:23:26 AM
I am seeing people building .name on the blockchain this days like ENS and other is there any benefit of doing this at all or people just want their name or company name in the blockchain?
My thought on this would be that they could be trying to book a space by doing that registration and expecting someone to take fancy to it and buy it off them. It's a business strategy for them. I've read where companies and business concerns buy existing domain names that rhyme with their business. I think that should be the game plan of those doing .name thing now.
2552  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Futures Trading is not for everyone on: August 08, 2022, 08:14:10 AM
I now officially accept that I am far from been a pro trader, at least that's what I thought 🤔.
Don't beat yourself that hard. Your problem was that you got carried away by the victory of the previous day. I guess that made you risked more than you could carry because you felt it would net you more profit. I believe in that axiom of slowly winning a race. Don't be in haste to hit a jackpot. Take it slowly. Now that this setback has happened, you shouldn't run away from futures trading because of that. All you've to do is correct the error that led to your loss. Stick to a trading plan and maintain money and trading discipline. Netting even $100 daily is a huge achievement, even when it's on a $5k account. You did more than that on a mere $300. Don't try to over stretch your expectations next time.

2554  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to know a good bounty on: August 07, 2022, 09:25:40 PM
Really? Maybe the scenario has changed in last few months of couple of years because until the time I was seeing bounties 2 years back most of them were actually paying you and not just getting work done for free.
That glorious bounty period you described there wasn't from two years ago. Two years ago was 2020 and that was a period Coronavirus almost crippled the crypto industry. The period in question you alluded to was 2017/18. It was indeed a momentous era for the industry and that brought a heightened interest to it. It was also the era scam ICOs became prevalent.
2555  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Technical analysts be like.. on: August 07, 2022, 08:36:06 PM
Don't bank on indicators 100%. They do fail some times. Remember there's no holy grail in trading.

True, or the events predicted by indicators can often occur non-linearly and not in the order that this indicator shows. There may be a deceptive market movement designed to eliminate or drive out as many market participants as possible, and then move in the direction in which the indicator showed. This is especially noticeable near key support or resistance levels, when the market, it would seem, should show some kind of long-awaited denouement.
I couldn't have said it better than you did there. That deceptive market move is why no trader should increase their margin or risk appetite because they think it's a certainty that price must head there, no matter what. It may not head there at once and before it does one's position may have been liquidated. Every trader should see their position as a losing trade until the trade is closed in exit. Never be too sure it's a winner.
2556  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Can Fail and Will Touch Be US $ 13k Dollar? on: August 07, 2022, 07:49:35 PM

It's not that the TA has been dislodge by a news but it was the movement of the price.
You're right but what I meant by that was the change in price movement away from what TA speculated it would do. If it doesn't do it within an expected timeframe, I tend to see it as dislodged. TA needs fundamentals to drive price to its expected direction. It could be gradual or speedily. The analogy that best explains this is what happens when kids are sent on errands. Most of them don't head straight to the errand, they deviate on the way but will eventually get to it. For those who don't head straight to the point of errand, it's patience that can make it effective sending them on errand next time. That's what happens when price doesn't head straight to target in trading. It requires patience.
2557  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Technical analysts be like.. on: August 07, 2022, 04:16:35 PM
We'll have to see how these indicators gonna play out
Don't bank on indicators 100%. They do fail some times. Remember there's no holy grail in trading.

This is the obvious you are saying. The jargons are what we need to put together and watch the little details to see what we can make out of it.
In a way, the jargons are great as they help traders speak in specific manners that make outsiders marvel at the level of knowledge they have acquired. Trading is a technical thing and its language has to be technical too. I don't see any issue in that. Every human field of endeavour has its own register.
2558  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it safe ? on: August 07, 2022, 03:43:03 PM
A friend who trades using Binance P2P once told me the method he had adopted to swim passed sharks there. He said he wouldn't transact with anyone who hadn't done up to 1,000 trades and that the merchant must be willing to pay from their personal account. Otherwise he would cancel. No third party account accepted, according to him. That way he said he had been extremely lucky and lowered the risk of getting scammed.

There are tricks that scammers use on Binance, Like;
1. Displaying higher ad price and paying lesser.
How will that be possible. I thought P2P on Binance is highly regulated? How can buyers/sellers manipulate transactions once price is put out? Is there no way snapshots are automatically entered to serve as evidence once a transaction is entered into by a bot or something so there won't be hangling of disagreement thereafter?
2559  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to know a good bounty on: August 07, 2022, 01:55:01 PM
The only thing that's honestly worth the time is signature campaigns
Of course, and that's because signature campaigns pay in usable coins weekly. Were bounty campaigns to pay in usable coins weekly they too would be worth the time. We've had a few instances were bounties paid with Ethereum, stablecoins and a few usable coins weekly. Such campaigns got quickly filled up. The thing is that these shitty projects don't want to spend money and that's why they rely on their unlisted tokens to pay bounty hunters. Most times the tokens don't get listed. Whether escrowed or not, once tokens aren't listed they're of no use.
2560  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Can Fail and Will Touch Be US $ 13k Dollar? on: August 06, 2022, 11:59:18 PM
I once saw price heading to that level but that TA has now been dislodged (it would seem) at the moment by recent news. To say the truth now, I remain skeptical on where Bitcoin price could be heading. I can only pick from a short term speculation but not on a long term until we get to October. Most of the things around Bitcoin movement should be taken from "history repeating itself" basis in alignment with TA, if one wants to remain on course. Based on that, we should be looking at October – November as favourable months for Bitcoin bull. Anything before then (from my perspective) doesn't confer certainty on price surge for Bitcoin. Maybe diving to $13k at the moment from where price is and all the fundamentals going on could be a tall order now.
