1741  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be careful Many New Tokens on Coinmarketcap are on: February 18, 2023, 08:02:31 AM
Has anyone noticed that as well?
Yes, I've noticed that. You're spot on.

They have their own checking and verifying criteria before listing a token there.
We can't confidently say that now of CMC. I remember what the process was like getting tokens on the CMC in 2017/2018. Now everything seems to have been watered down with it. There are tokens I see listed on the CMC this day and I shake in my head because I can spot the scam in them at once.

1743  Economy / Speculation / Re: what now ? on: February 14, 2023, 10:18:52 PM
what you guys think , it's a short term rally or beginning of bull market
or I missed the bottom
If you're buying to hodl till 2024 or first quarters of 2025 then you entry price shouldn't be a concern to you. The reason being that Bitcoin is projected to hit a level higher than its previous ATH of $68k+ in 2021. I expect a repeat of that awesome rally in 2025 too. At the current price of $22,240 I think it's still a discount. You don't have to buy all you want at once. You can DCA on it and keep getting more anytime it dips for price correction.
1744  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Learn from a brother's mistake on: February 14, 2023, 09:47:16 PM
Also, I prefer projects from the Binance launch pad because binance don't just list any projects, 85% of all projects that used Binance launchpads are successful.
Some people will tell you that there's a foul play with all Binance launchpads, that there's a high tech manipulation in price and that's why they all have nice ROI once released to the market. I guess since there hasn't been any evidence as to any wrongdoing on the part of Binance, everything said should be taken as mere FUD by envious parties. Concerning the issue at hand, I ain't conversant with the Alliance Block case but there's something you said there that's instructive and that's never to put all one's eggs into a single altcoin  investment. Splitting it will save the day and prevent unnecessary heartache.
1745  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: You can Make 785 + Merits as well in 365 Days on: February 14, 2023, 08:04:35 PM
Congrats, compatriot. That number of merit garnered by you in a year isn't small by any means. That's a huge bag you amassed there. It's good you didn't give up when the criticisms came (they will surely come once one is exposed to public gatherings). You're almost officially a legendary fellow if not for activities that have kept you at Snr rank. Keep the good work going. It's just a matter of time.
1746  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can help all nations. on: February 14, 2023, 07:13:56 PM
Despite how dearly I love the idea of Bitcoin, both as an asset and means of payment from my POV, I strongly believe it won't solve the world's financial problems. My reasons aren't far fetched. Not all nations are blessed with electricity supply like what we've in the advanced countries. Dealings in Bitcoin require power supply but sadly not every nation has that. Secondly, accepting Bitcoin as legal tender is a matter of choice. Invariably, not everyone is in tune with using Bitcoin and that counts for something. Its use won't be globally accepted. So, it can't really be of help to all nations.
1747  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it worth staking stablecoins? on: February 14, 2023, 05:08:18 PM
Late last year, I had a taste of what it is when people say it's very risky to stake. Before then I had successfully staked on several occasions and cashed out. It's passive income when the going is good. However, the experience of losing one's assets on staked site isn't something anyone with a high blood pressure should witness. I staked thousands of KCLP and Kroots on the kclp site, believing doing it there would guarantee safety more than on any other site since it's their token, and then one day the rugged thing happened. Everything just disappeared into thin air. My only consolation whenever I remember what happened now is that the prices of those tokens dipped weeks before that incident so much that the quantities I had weren't worth that much again.
1748  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on BUSD and other stables. on: February 14, 2023, 04:50:42 PM
You have chosen the most unfortunate time to exchange your USDT for BUSD. You obviously don't know that the Paxos Trust Company, which is the issuer of BUSD, said that it stopped issuing this stablecoin and decided to burn it at the request of the SEC.
Honestly, when I saw this thread I thought OP's question was about the ongoing issue with the BUSD and its issuer. It appears OP hadn't known of that before making this post. To play safe, I've moved all my BUSD to Bitcoin. Now, I'm watching from the sideline to see how things go. I encourage OP to do same too until the dust around it settles down.
1749  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much time For next halving? on: February 14, 2023, 11:58:06 AM
How will the halving affect bitcoin price?
No one knows that.
Well, that's not true. From history, I actually witnessed the one of 2020 being my first experience, I can tell that the effect of the next Bitcoin halving on its price will be a positive one. We saw how Bitcoin rose from its shadow immediately after that 2020 halving and did extremely well in 2021. I expect same this next halving and by 2025, we should have a fresh ATH in this industry.
1750  Other / Meta / Re: Good Initiative by Royse777! on: February 14, 2023, 10:54:39 AM
I had a good laugh at that. It's crazy. What was the poster actually thinking a wallet was. Well, I better stick to their advice and get a conditioner to be cleaning my wallet 🤦

And I expect that more and more of the long 0-value posts be reported as AI texts if they're written proper English (which may or may not be correct).
I think a more drastic step should be taken and not only reporting such Al posts. Those accounts should be tagged. It's deceit for me. Except if such account is registered in a way that the community recognizes it's an Al account. We've to know when we're exchanging correspondences with scripts so we don't throw in all our emotions into such banters. Computers don't have emotions.
1751  Other / Meta / Re: A question about the source link in other people's texts on: February 14, 2023, 10:26:31 AM
To avoid committing "plagiarism" you should cite the source properly
I think so too. Not everyone posts from PCs and those who don't are likely going to miss the "hover" thing. However, I don't see why source links should be masked. If you used someone else's work, it's only honourable to admit it by putting it where everyone can see it and know that it's not yours.
1752  Other / Meta / Re: Just being conscious on: February 14, 2023, 07:51:27 AM
I believe user PX–Z gave a concise answer to your question in respect to it being a duplicate thread. If one thread were a translation of the other thread, I don't think that will be an issue. But to do a direct copy and past of one's thread in repetition? What for? Again, if one isn't certain of where to post a thread it's better to ask mods to move it to appropriate board.
1753  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: who would you trust? on: February 13, 2023, 02:07:03 PM
Simple truth – Trust no man; verify all. Sometimes trust is broken unintentionally and we've seen this play out here too. We've seen accounts we felt wouldn't do any wrong get involved in scandalous activities. Some trusted escrows have gone wild and misappropriated funds in their care. These things happen because man is subject to change as it's the only constant thing in life. People do change. Accounts (most) here are faceless. No one can truly tell the personality, age or sex of users here apart from what they want us to perceive them as.
1754  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: whether investing in bitcoin many lose on: February 13, 2023, 11:52:37 AM
and i have little money and plan to buy bitcoin.
but is investing in bitcoin really safe or not?
Is investing in stocks safe or not? How you respond to that question should give you an idea of what you want to do with Bitcoin will boil down to. Nonetheless, l will let you know that everything investment comes with a huge risk.

and what is a good application for buying and selling crypto, and is it safe?..............
Get on an exchange if you want to buy and sell. Binance will be your best plug at the moment.
1755  Economy / Reputation / Re: Some unusual behavior with merits. on: February 13, 2023, 10:12:26 AM
3.) Regarding the merits, on January 6th, a member imamusma made a post in this topic. This prompted some other members to review his post history and help him in reaching his next rank. There is nothing unusual about this.
True. I believe that post was the needed turning point for the accused, imamusma. OP should've researched deeper before publishing whatever they thought was wrong. That way, I believe they would've also reviewed imamusma's post history. From what I observed, imamusma isn't a bad poster. It was just that luck didn't find them on time to enable them rank up until that post happened.
1756  Economy / Reputation / Re: First Bitcoin earning (Signature) on: February 13, 2023, 08:09:04 AM
My brother, congratulations! I've seen you're my compatriot. I'm happy you're finding it interesting here and at the same time contributing your quota to the smooth conversations in this forum. Nothing beats the feelings here – both in learning and earning. However, you should get a proper Bitcoin wallet as against the crypto wallet (Trust Wallet) you're storing your Bitcoin in. The sad part of it is that you can't even exchange Bitcoin for another token on that app, as in swap it in case you want to buy any other token on the app. You can only send or receive there but can't exchange it. Perhaps you know of that?
1757  Economy / Reputation / Re: who is JayJuanGee is he or she a human? on: February 12, 2023, 09:24:54 PM
~snipped~
Not necessary. According to "Bobby Milk" De Niro, men can breastfeed babies too.  Wink
But of course, you know what you've there isn't breastfeeding 🤦. Nothing beats natural. Again, you've to take a peep at the profile of the user in question.

~
JJG is a good poster and sometimes, I wonder how he managed to putting on those lengthy words. Is he an art students?
That will be very hard to say because of the way he bites into different subject areas. Did you read some of the insights he gave on the Yahoo case? That's deep health related matter and the dude had an analytical view on it too.
1758  Economy / Reputation / Re: who is JayJuanGee is he or she a human? on: February 12, 2023, 04:26:08 PM
This night after I finished breastfeeding my baby
It's comments like this that supposedly tell us the sex of people here apart from how you displayed it on your profile. I ain't sure JJG has made a disclosure like that. Well, I may be wrong because I haven't read all that user's posts. However, from the little I've read of the user's posts I can conclude that JJG is a male.

Quote
Please @JayJuanGee do not see my post annoying, I was only catching cruise with the way you do with your merits.
Definitely, he's coming to respond here (with a wall of text) as usual. One good thing about that user though is his ability to always respond to comments seeking clarifications. I think my first encounter with him (I'm using the masculine as I'm convinced it's a male gender) was at the WO thread.
1759  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People will choose bitcoins more if the number of cryptocurrency option is less. on: February 11, 2023, 09:24:44 PM
~snipped~

I do not think the number of available cryptocurrencies is relevant to how people choose where to invest.
Oh, dear! It does. The preponderance of something makes it noticeable and this is what happens in cryptos. Those who are investing are likely to buy into small cap projects if they can't afford a complete unit of Bitcoin and then hope that those projects perform credibly well. If they've limited choice to pick from or just only Bitcoin, of course your guess is as good as mine where they would pick. If you've more options in life, would you say you wouldn't try them all or more of them instead of confining yourself to a few picks?
