Why did you decide to choose the White color for a Notification dot?

I think of two better colors: Red and Orange.
Yeah, I think so too but I would rather choose red than orange. For me, it stands out and flashes the eyes better. It isn't for nothing that it's used to indicate "danger"

About new messages, I do believe that it's better to have the forum alert users by default through notification whenever they log in telling them they have new messages and if they would like to open it then or later. With that no one misses any message.

However, I want to admit that those who don't have the habit of reading messages will still not read. So, it's not even about choosing to boldface or sparkle the notification with bright colour that should matter.

You should be asking yourself what purpose those coins/token serve that hasn't been explored before? Nothing!
Definitely, someone has to be a pathfinder for something to come through. If Bitcoin served that purpose and we've this industry as it's today, that's shouldn't mean that every other coin that does what Bitcoin –means of payment– does should be classified a shitcoin. I'm sure if ETH had come first before Bitcoin, most people wouldn't be talking of Bitcoin the way we do today. I mean, just look at what ETH has been able to do for this industry in terms of its smart contract that has been able to expand this industry and brought many players in. Does Bitcoin have that? No?

You admit one erroneous opinion, and from this you draw erroneous conclusions. The mistake is that you consider gold and bitcoin to be similar assets. But the problem is that it is not. Gold has a real value formed by demand, "traditions", the complexity of mining (utility), and some other indicators.
In your haste to analyse and fault my position, you subjectively introduced what I never mentioned. For the records, I never compared Bitcoin to Gold. I wittingly posited that just as Gold is thought as a "Safe Haven" now that's how Bitcoin would likely be considered as one in time to come. Come to think of it, if you ever traded Forex you would've understood better my position. There was a time the Swiss Chef was considered a Safe Haven and a lot of people pegged their money on it.

BTW, isn't gold a speculative instrument as Bitcoin?

Quote
Bitcoin has a speculative price and wild volatility, but nothing like the properties of gold.
Oh, really? This clearly shows you aren't a trader. Please, check trade data and you will observe how volatile Gold is.

Quote
In addition, in times of crisis, gold is very liquid, and for it you can just buy bread, but what about bitcoin? No way .. You can’t buy bread for it, and even matches ....
I'm in shock that you're arguing this way. Really?
1544  Other / Meta / Re: unforgivable evil I did not commit. on: April 10, 2023, 06:58:38 PM
I was told that I have 186 units of evil that I have to atone. I was asked to pay very small amount of bitcoin but I refused to pay, not because I can't pay but due to the elementry knowledge I got from jury.  If I pay for an evil I did not commit, it means I have agreed that I committed the evil or I am an accomplice.
You're absolutely right about the logic of admittance by paying the "evil" fee. That will be a possible verdict in a competent court – If you didn't do it, why did you pay the fine. This evil fee wasn't a thing when I got registered here in 2017. It was much later I learnt new users were getting directed to pay such. It would've discouraged me in my days if it was there. One, for the fact that I haven't had an experience of paying to access any forum, I would've just abandoned my account. Secondly, because I knew next to nothing about Bitcoin before coming here, I would've left too. How would I've known how to buy Bitcoin and then send it to the wallet address provided by default?

Quote
*If I could actually be whitelisted for free, why make me wait for months or why make here difficult for people to access?*
The whitelist option was made available after a lot of veteran users criticised the fee. It may not have been there when you first registered. I'm just guessing. However, the whitelist is to encourage users who have genuine intention coming here, and not those whose intention is to farm accounts and then cheat on campaigns with their farmed accounts.

1546  Economy / Economics / Re: If the dollar/fiat was worthless! on: April 10, 2023, 03:17:07 PM
Dollars rate crash to zero it will definitely affect bitcoin...
First off, there's no way dollar can dip to zero. That's one. Secondly, let's hypothetically say it does crash to zero; it will rather have a positive impact on Bitcoin rather than the reverse. Bitcoin will soar higher. Haven't we seen enough of this work out for years now? Inflation has eaten deeply into the dollar, consequently dollar continues to exchange lower to a Bitcoin. My projection is that price disparity will even get worse in time to come. Bitcoin price continues on an upward movement while dollar and other fiat continue to slip.

Soon, the way Gold is thought to be a safe haven; it will be same with Bitcoin where people will convert their fiat to Bitcoin to protect the value of their fiat against inflation.
1547  Economy / Economics / Re: Essentials to starting A business on: April 10, 2023, 01:09:29 PM
they key very first thing is this

finding a niche
this is where you know something is needed by many people. then you come up with an idea/solution to fill that need.
No post could've put that point better than you succinctly did there.

Quote
there is no point having a business that just does the same thing thats already very popular because its already being served and needs already met(saturated market).
Most people just want to be in business for the sake of getting that business person tag. That's all, nothing else. They don't care if there's nothing different from the several businesses already existing. Several years ago when the GSM thing found its footing in my country, everyone who had small cash invested in setting up kiosks and stalls to run it. On every street then one could count at least three of such stalls doing that. It became so rampart that those in that business could hardly make money from it before it finally collapsed. Now, the craze has shifted to POS. There's no cut out plan to be different apart from following the crowd.
1548  Economy / Economics / Re: Quit borrowing on: April 10, 2023, 11:00:16 AM
Taking out a loan to finance projects (not to buy luxury) isn't a bad idea. However, we've come to see that most people default on the loans they take because things don't always turn out the way envisaged. Nobody likes to be embarrassed by their creditors because of a loan default but then it's what it's. Shit happens, and then it hits the fan to get worse. Has anyone noticed that the act of going to take a loan even humbles one? That's why at the point of asking for a loan, the borrower often speaks in subdued/hush tone as if they were dying 😆, even if they're asking of it from friends. But wait until when they need to repay it but can't and their voices go loud.

Today, I now own a home and a nice ride, I was able to get married and settle down, but now they feel like they made a huge mistake for not listening to me.
You're lucky to have come from a country where such recorded short time successes aren't attributed to have come from crime or fraud. In my country, those friends of yours would even accuse you of indulging internet fraud because most of them are cynics who can't comprehend that one can make it big in crypto. I've a similar experience to yours.

Quote
would you help your discouraging friends if you are in my shoe?
Well, I would teach them but I would be charging them a fee for that since they rejected it the first time which I would've given it for free.

Sometimes people do not understand that it is better to live here and now because this "later" happens when all desires end. Bitcoin can and should be spent; it is not worth turning your life into eternal savings and turning it into an empty existence.
Thanks for your kind words there 🤗.

This comment of yours is so apt to what I've shared with many of those around me. Let me quickly share my perspective on such. In the distant past I used to hold certain things dear to heart, thinking they were that expedient and couldn't do without them. Now, I know better and can easily do away with such. I believe such awareness that life isn't after all that hard if we choose not to make it hard. Perhaps, those who think it's mandatory to save for the future even while they're starving at the moment should begin to have a rethink. Enjoy your today first before slaving for tomorrow. The advice out there for everyone should be –Try to hodl Bitcoin but don't make it a do or die thing if you can't afford it today.

This news is from the IT Hub of India, that is Kolkata.
Whenever I come across the word Kolkata, I remember the stigma it has acquired as an epic centre for scam in India. I watch YouTube on a regular the so much scam activities that go on around there in the various supposed "call centres".

1552  Economy / Economics / Re: Without government job we can survive on: April 09, 2023, 03:40:31 PM
sometimes when we graduate from higher colleges we expected government to create employment opportunities
This was also my miscalculation and the misconception of my parents. I've vowed that my kids won't toe that line of expecting government to provide them jobs after graduation like I expected. I'm going to bring them up with the mindset of being self sufficient and employed.

There are so many meaning gigs one can get involved in online this day and earn well without leaving one's comfort zone. For one, I will teach them online trading of any sort. So, government employment won't be a thing for them. How much does the government even pay for entry graduate level? In my country, the pay is not something anyone should be proud spilling here.

Quote
on my instinct I said without government employment man can survive, I started a popcorn 🍿 business which I managed alone but right now have workers under me which I'm paying and now planning to establish another business.
Kudos to you for taking the bull by the horns. This is how every graduate should think. They don't have to wait endlessly for a government job that may not even be available. At least you know how much profit you earn and can juxtapose it what government could've been paying you were you in its employment.
1553  Economy / Economics / Re: Americans go to Mexico for medicals to cut costs. on: April 08, 2023, 07:39:54 PM
many people go to south Korea too for cosmetic surgery
Yeah, I know people have their lives to lead when it comes to stuff like that. It's their choice and the consequences should also solely be theirs. Besides moral grounds, I think people shouldn't be getting under the knife if it isn't to balance up or correct medical conditions. I don't have any pity on those who go for cosmetic surgeries and don't make it out alive. The aesthetic is needless.
1554  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We are about to enter altcoin season, what do you think? on: April 08, 2023, 04:50:29 PM
What is your thoughts? Are you agree with the point?
While I acknowledge that in this crypto space we can't know it all, especially when it comes to price speculation and movements, my past observations put altcoin season after Bitcoin has had its rally. It's at this point that some investors who will still be basking in their tremendous success following Bitcoin price will cash out there and then splash their profits on their favourite altcoins. However, I didn't witness such after Bitcoin had its ATH in 2021. I was expecting altcoins to rally in 2022 but that never happened. That was why I said earlier that crypto was full of surprises. On the normal, altcoin season should be in 2025; not now. But then, I can't be vehement to say things can't change.
1555  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it wise to spend your Bitcoin on: April 08, 2023, 03:03:38 PM
Most persons purchase  most items using Bitcoin transactions I am of the opinion of hodling instead of spending pls is that a positive mindset?
If I get you correctly, you're of the opinion that you would rather spend your money in fiat than spend your BTC purchasing stuff, right? I think it's a different strokes for different folks situation in this regard. I rather spend BTC in purchasing stuff where there's such payment option than paying with fiat. This is because I've found out that it's easier paying for stuff using BTC than fiat. It's not because I don't like the idea of hodling. I don't like sticking to things that stress me when I can easily go round it without stress.

OK, I know BNB is a shitcoin but come on, apart from the periodic burns, we all know why BNB is that much worth and the biggest factors are the backing of Binance exchange.
Well, for the sake of conversation, what crypto do you think is genuine in your assessment? I asked this because you classified both Shib and BNB as shitcoins and I'm wondering what made you say so.

Quote
Does SHIB have any external backing where it's price can artificially be manipulated?
Not many people believed Shib would stay till date. They immediately passed a verdict on it when it debuted, not giving it a chance at all. However, Shib is still in the market proving many people wrong with more exchanges listing it. I want to believe those exchanges listing it aren't blind. There must be something that makes Shib appeal to them.

isn't it the same as when we watch television and see advertisements? we see only pictures or video footage. but it is attempted to attract someone's attention or curiosity to visit the site or whatever is advertised.
This is one place the avatar gets its usefulness. Most times it aids me search for my posts in threads or other users I'm searching their posts in threads. Avatar serves that function well in captivating us like the TV analogy you pointed out easier than signature logos. I think that's all about where its function ends. If there's any other than that, then it should be there's a code embedded in the avatar. May be the coders in the house should enlighten us more on that.
1558  Other / Meta / Re: Spammers and Burst Posters only on: April 07, 2023, 02:08:13 PM
I should say I can make at least 15-20 posts a day depending on my mood.
That's apt. One's mood matters a great deal when it comes to interactions. Posting on this forum is interaction (that's the way I see it). Any post that isn't interactive will obviously paint a picture of spam. Those who post in isolation – posting without addressing the topic of discussion– know what I'm saying here.

Quote
what is your average number of posts?
My average will be around six per day. This is putting into consideration that there are days are get fired up and make over 10 posts in a day while on certain days I don't even make up to five posts. Also, sometimes I get distracted from the forum and end up not making a single post.

Quote
For you what is the acceptable time gap during/while posting in this forum?
That would depend on how knowledgeable and resourceful the community thinks your posts are. I've see reputable members post in less than 5 minutes time gap and no one called them out on that. I don't know if I've fallen into such short time duration but I do like to space my posts as best as I can.

Summarily, I think what matters most is what is posted as against its time space.
1559  Other / Meta / Re: What is the advantage of Wearing signature avatar on your BTT profile? on: April 07, 2023, 01:06:21 PM
Have seen many of members wear signature avatar, Can you members give idea what that be expected from wearing signature avatar on your profile?
Ads and promotions.
I can say yes for signatures but not for avatars. Since avatars don't have links, I wonder how the services they're meant to promote get visibility. I'm referring to avatar only campaigns, not those that combine avatar with signature campaigns because investors can simply click on signatures and get the information or web addresses they want.

I said in the next bull run, It's not possible... You can't compare bitcoin to Shiba Inu, no offense.
Bitcoin is in a class of its own. I didn't compare it with Shib. I only alluded to how most people never believed in it when it started. That stage is what we've now in Shib.

Quote
Current circulating supply of SHIB - 589,543,681,764,963. It's 14th with a total market cap of $6,614,625,276 at the price of $0.00001122. If the price ever got to $50 At the current circulating supply, the total market cap would be 29,477,184,088,248,150. Over Twenty-nine quadrillion USD just for shib only! The total market cap is barely 1 Trillion USD.

Do you think this is even realistic at all?
In all the data you put out there, you forgot that there's something called burning of tokens. The Shib team can decide to burn its excess token tomorrow and that will cause price to frog leap. After all, BNB also did it.
