1701  Other / Archival / Re: Bitcointalk, we have a new member of the forum administration on: February 28, 2023, 02:35:49 PM
But, I'm pretty sure we haven't seen the last of him.
What else will he do, resurrect like a cat with nine lives? Well, if that user comes back here that it will be under disguise. Otherwise, it's another ban for them.
1702  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My father thinks I'm working in a shop,he didn't know I'm bitcointalking. on: February 28, 2023, 11:06:47 AM
Technology has made life somehow easy for us today. In the days of our father, they had no idea about working online, all their work to make money were done physically, and with strength, either they engaged in mini or mega business that will provide money for them.
The internet didn't become a thing in my country until the year 2000 or so. Before then, no one would believe anyone could make money staying at home. It was unimaginable because that would be like expecting to get money in the thin air. The belief in the pre-internet era was for people to work hard to earn. This day, it has moved from that to "work smart."

Quote
Now my father asks me about my shop, and where it's located,I told him I'm bitcointalking, and he doesn't know what I'm talking. What do yours tell you?
Lol. Did your father understand what you meant by "bitcointalking" then? I wouldn't put it that way. I would rather tell them (or anyone) that I'm into online biz. I guess you're enjoying it here. BTW, if you prefer online jobs to offline ones you could throw yourself into online businesses too to increase your sources of earning. It's important you don't put all your eggs in a single basket.
1703  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading season? on: February 27, 2023, 10:18:47 PM
I was kind of confused little about something, after someone walked on to me and was telling me that in trading, there are seasons when you profit from it (lucky days) and when but when I asked for an explanation, he didn't give a clear explanation, so I had to bring it up here to know if there are truly seasons of profits in trading and how can I identify such seasons?
Except your friend is a conservative trader who waits for price to go up and then sell. Wait again to buy from the dip to sell again when price goes up. Repeat. Traders like your friend only get to trade and get profitable when the market is on the rise. That's spot trading. Futures traders trade every single day they want whether price is rising or falling and still make profit. However, if your friend was talking about traders getting lucky in trades I will say yes there are days like that. Those days are days when traders wait patiently for their setups to hit and not forcing trades to come to them. Apart from that, I don't believe trading is about luck. No, it's not. It's purely about getting the set skills right and being patient enough to trade one's setups.
1704  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What bitcoin can do on: February 27, 2023, 09:45:49 PM
You're come from Nigeria, so I'm sure you're move into near of Nigeria, so I wouldn't surprised if many people want to accept Bitcoin payment because I've read so many thread where Nigerian citizens are tend to trade via direct P2P due to banking ban.
That bank ban is so much relaxed now that we've almost forgotten there was a time it happened. Even the P2P engagements all go through the banks because payments are made in fiat. All we do is skip the narration part. Putting crypto related tag in that column for narration was what implicated so many crypto traders' bank accounts when that ban happened as they got frozen. Again, concerning what OP mentioned about the ease of transacting in Bitcoin as against fiat; that's absolutely true. I've weighed all the fiat and Bitcoin transactions I've done and discovered that Bitcoin transactions were less stressful for me. Things like that will continue to make Bitcoin more relevant and in demand.
1705  Economy / Reputation / Re: Discrimination against bounty hunters on: February 27, 2023, 06:02:40 PM
I stand to be corrected anyway if my submission is not accurate.
You raised quite a number of interesting issues there. Some of which I've observed myself. On the restriction posting in the Altcoin board, I think it may not be solely a decision taken solely by the managers but in conjunction with projects they're promoting. It's a case of he who pays the piper calls the tune. I like your decision not to get into bounties. Trust me, most of the projects there are a waste of time. It's a regular occurrence there for hunters to get cheated out of their rewards, either by managers or the projects being promoted. Besides, token rewards are often worthless after payment as most of them don't eventually get listed on exchanges. The discrimination thing you talked about in respect to posting is because no one likes reading spam posts. I don't like it too. So, if I know or believe a particular section of this forum is highly dominated with spam posts; why would I want to visit it then?
1706  Economy / Reputation / Re: 6 account has contacted! (Full member,1)(member,4)(newbie,2) on: February 27, 2023, 02:43:24 PM
OP if your complaint (indirectly) is that those accounts are related farmed accounts, the best place to make that complaint should be
Known Alts of any-one. There are users there who are gifted and will be willing to dot the "i"s and cross the "t"s for you, speedily.
1707  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: yahoo62278 scammed the forum with his fake donation (part 2) on: February 27, 2023, 11:48:54 AM
Yahoo didn't say a word back to me after the donation. No thanks, not anything. He just took the money like a pig.
What's even wrong with humanity? So, your issue with Yahoo is that he didn't show gratitude to you or sing your praises and loud it that you gave him cash? What's the place of silently giving alms that you don't understand? It's bad enough that you're trying to kick a guy that is down. Health issues are something anyone can be faced with. That you don't have any now doesn't mean you're above having it. Quite this childish attack. If you've evidence that Yahoo is deceitful on this, provide them or else hold your peace and be calm.
1708  Other / Archival / Re: Bitcointalk, we have a new member of the forum administration on: February 27, 2023, 08:22:48 AM
I think the essence of the scam will be the so-called paid help for various users, various newbies and users who are not familiar with the structure of the forum. For example, help in unbanning or getting a rank. I have not yet seen a single case when someone would decide to proclaim himself a representative of the administration.
I don't know any sane person that will want to patronise a painted account. I checked the user's profile and saw that they were already tagged in previous years. At the moment, they've only got just one tag for this act of claiming they're an admin. So, chances of anyone falling for farlack's antics is highly infinitesimal. Thank you for disrupting them more.

Quote
Interestingly, such misrepresentation and abuse of the signature should be somehow punished? If not a ban, then disabling the signature, for life.
I think the tags are enormous enough for warning the community. That account is already destroyed even without banning it.
1709  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you have any financial regrets ? on: February 26, 2023, 06:10:39 PM
The total cost of that departemtn was about $100,000. Well, I did not have that much money at that time but if I borrowed some from my parents and it was not a problem. Maybe because I was too young and did not get along with my parents at the time, I did not ask for that so I refused the offer and let go of that apartment.
From OP's story, it wasn't really because they made an investment error. Also, it wasn't because they didn't have the cash per se as they could easily have borrowed from parents. However, the issue was because they couldn't stoop to conquer by making it right and then having to ask them for the cash. One thing with wrong decisions is that we don't get to know they're wrong while taking them. We only find out on hindsight how wrong we were.

Of course, everyone who has come of age will have one or two investment regrets they must've passed through. I experienced one recently where I delayed in selling off and price  went back to default. It's a painful thing to witness when you know you could've profited much from such an investment.
1710  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The best time to buy bitcoin. on: February 26, 2023, 01:21:35 PM
~snip~
The only question is when will it happen? Well, if we look at how fast inflation is going down, I can assume that it will probably go down to the expected 3-4% in the Q4 of 2023. So I'm not expecting a bull run until 2024.

I would write it in a much simpler way, because regardless of inflation, stocks or even war, most people expect a new big bull run to happen after the next halving, which means in the second half of 2024 or during 2025.
The OP populated the whole write-up with elaborate story telling but ended saying what's on the lips of everyone on the contrary. But of course, I'm one of the few who believe that of a certainty we're most likely to experience another bull run in 2024, whether inflation or not. This is due to the Bitcoin halving expected in 2024. In fact, for me, I believe the bull momentum will commence from the last quarters of 2023 and spillover into 2024. It's not rocket science to know that. History is there to reference.

1712  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading with profitability on: February 26, 2023, 11:08:26 AM
Recently I find it more profitable to earn just $5 daily either through scalping or scalp trading that is turned into day trading. I am not using altcoins for this but bitcoin.
Earning $5 on a $1,000 investment is way too conservative for any trader. That's making 0.5% on a daily. On my part, I like to swing. If I were to trade a $1,000 portfolio I would place myself on a 10% weekly profit for a start and that will be not to cause me any anxiety. 10% weekly will amount to $100. That's around $14 daily. Targeting it daily will mean to pile up pressure to meet up target. Keeping it on a weekly basis will allow one the opportunity to aggregate all winnings. Trust me, there are going to be days when you will make more than the $14 and days when you won't make up to it. Doing the daily thing means traders are more prone to forcing themselves into trades even when they should clearly stay on the sidelines. 5X leverage should be okay enough to get that target.
1713  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is trading good for beginners? on: February 26, 2023, 09:25:44 AM
Someone met me and we were had a conversation on trade and he told me that he has used all he has been saving for trading and asked me if he can make something out of it and I asked him if he had any knowledge about it and he said no.
That person actually set themselves up for failure. How do you dabble into something you don't have the faintest idea of? Was it because it's trading which is often erroneously believed to be an all comers affair? It's like going to fly an airplane without the requisite knowledge for doing that. You will definitely crash and die. No two ways about it. Trading shouldn't be treated with levity. It's a professional job and should be treated with the same respect we accord other professional jobs in medicine, law, engineering, journalism, etc.

My question is can someone that doesn't have any knowledge about trading and how the system work can he or she trade and be profitable in it? Since at some points it has some compliments bof luck.
My above comment also answers to this 👆
1714  Economy / Economics / Re: The Return of the Barter Trade at Rural Communities in Nigeria on: February 26, 2023, 08:57:22 AM
And sure, the elderly might have problems using ATM machines but I have to think that many of them have younger family members who'd help them out, no?  In any case, it sounds like there's a huge clusterfuck of a situation in Nigeria, and I feel for you.  Thanks for sharing.  If you hadn't posted this, I would never have heard about it on the news or anywhere else for that matter.
Yes, the elderly will have that problem but like you rightly pointed out; they've younger family members that can help them out. The problem with my fellow countrymen is that they find it difficult to embrace change. The sacrifice is not often there once it's something that will inconvenience them a bit. We want everything on a platter of gold without paying the price for it. We're often quick to point to countries with organised system and envy them but we don't want to allow such experiment a chance in our country. These same old folks didn't want the GSM when it debuted in Nigeria in 2002. They said it would be noisy to the ears and expensive to maintain. Today, those old folks barely can do without it. I believe it's the same way with this cashless thing the CBN is introducing to us. It's just a matter of time but are we ready to give it that time?
1715  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Traffic will jam if bitcoin pumps on: February 25, 2023, 02:45:16 PM
Many people are relenting to trade or invest but assuming the pumps start now, everybody will wants to come back and make money.
This is nothing new. We've seen it happen over and over again. It's the fear of missing out of what they think it's obtainable that makes such move pronounced and it baffles me why anyone would wait until price starts rising to chase it. It happened in 2017, repeated itself in 2021 and will also do same in 2025. It's such a situation that will continue to give us the needed ATH. Don't forget that it was because of such FOMO that Bitcoin got chased to $68k+ in the last bull rally. We will definitely see another chase. The moment is building up already.

People can not endure test of time, everybody is taking out their bitcoin investment because they've no strong foundation for bitcoin but those staying and keep trust the project of bitcoin will reap the reward of their patients.
No one wants to be associated with failure or anything that's stagnated. Just like the eagle, anywhere the carcass is that's where they're gathered. It's human nature to want the best.
1716  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Startup for Technical Indicator Alarms on: February 25, 2023, 12:34:15 PM
2. Alaram turns on when the price touches the band, or just before it reaches it (here you could define with a slider the distance between the price and the bands. Based on the distance, an alarm would trigger

What do you think about these ideas? I'd love to hear your opinion, as well as the opinion of others Smiley
I would like to find a situation where we don't have to do an OR to pick a trade that's expected to head in the same direction. It's going to be a mere guess work if that happens. If we're going to rely on BB to determine a trade for, let's say, a buy; then it should be accurate when it touches a certain point or does a certain thing. Vice versa. It shouldn't be a guess work like the "or" situation. We can factor in "or" when we think a buy or a sell will happen, and not when we're looking at a specific. That's my concern. How do you eliminate such?
1717  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it true that this AI is good for trading? on: February 25, 2023, 08:43:02 AM
I don't think it's wise for anyone to allow bot(s) trade for them, honestly. I talk from experience. During the early days of my trading involvement, I was introduced to trading robots. Then crypto wasn't even a thing. It was FX trading. Robots or bots can make you money but you will eventually lose it when the market becomes choppy. Bots are programmed for certain market conditions and those are trending markets – bull and bear. Once the market goes into range, robots won't understand the direction anymore and they become indiscriminate in placing trades. The best is for one to learn the skills and be present minded trading it. If you don't have the time, then don't trade.
1718  Economy / Services / Re: [WTB] Sell your EMPTY ETH Wallet! ($5-10/address) on: February 25, 2023, 07:13:28 AM
OP's explanation on why they needed active ETH wallets sounded plausible. However, those selling should also factor in certain risk associated with such. For instance, I hope they don't get tagged as farmed accounts as alts with others here too. Many users were caught unawares like that in the past because they sold bounties to same users and their wallets got connected. I'm not saying that's exactly what's going to happen here. Just stating my perspective and one cent opinion.
1719  Economy / Economics / Re: The Return of the Barter Trade at Rural Communities in Nigeria on: February 24, 2023, 05:33:19 PM
From what I read on the forum from members of the Nigerian community, it seems that their authorities are not quite capable of dealing with problems in an efficient and less destructive way for their citizens...
Not actually that our political leaders are bereft of ideas of what to do at any given time, the problem is that my country doesn't have strengthened institutions that can streamline the brashness of these leaders and call them to order when they cross the line. So, it has become a sport for them to do whatever they like and think they will get away with it; they actually do get away with a lot of it to say the truth. Imagine a country where the president wouldn't obey orders from the Supreme Court of the land. Would anyone expect he would obey lower court orders then?

We ask you to unblock your account - Hill.money
"We"? I read the OP and saw that plural third person pronoun "We" crisscrossing that post. I thought it was an error but now I'm beginning to think it wasn't. It's a company account? I checked the profile link you put out here but there's no post in that account to know what happened. I guess you deleted them by yourself? Besides, that account was registered in the second week in February this year and got banned a few days later. I'm thinking the spam was much and irritating that mods couldn't bear to ignore and let go.
