1621  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can old trading strategies work again? on: March 21, 2023, 06:32:05 AM
what do you do with the strategy that you are about to change. do you just forget about it completely once a new strategy starts working for you? or do you keep it in remembrance for the future.
This is why having a trading journal is important. If you've the strategy written down, as (is) advisable, then there won't be any point in throwing it away or completely forget it. It's there on paper, you only need to revisit it to remember what it's like. You can retest it even years later when you think the one you replaced it with had become faulty.

Quote
If you have experienced this before; has any old trading strategy that you decided to apply work for you? Is it possible that old strategies may work in the future again?
Yes, highly possible. In the past I used Breakout technique but left it because it was time consuming as it were. I would've wait patiently for it to catch a few movements. I revisited it years later and discovered my trading was better with it.
1622  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: "one of the largest crypto scandals to date" on: March 20, 2023, 07:46:16 PM
one of the largest trading bot app named Iearnbot, it trade automatically by AI .
I don't understand why people would engage the services of bots to trade for them, knowing full well that the market is unpredictable. Bots don't have emotions and can't feel anything of concern. Even when it's obvious that market patterns and changes are sporadic, a bot may not be able to quickly make that switch. Also, there are bots that trade relatively well with up or down trend but performs poorly when the market is ranging.

– Leaving a bot to trade for one is making one vulnerable.
1623  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dare to take such gamble? on: March 20, 2023, 05:33:35 PM
He put up a gamble worth of 2million USD, open to anyone who doesn't believe that Bitcoin will reach 1 million dollars 💰💰💰 in 90days,
Expecting Bitcoin to hit $1 million in the next 90 days is hoping too much and stretching one's imagination too far. For me, it will even be a surprise if Bitcoin gets to $200k in the next bull rally to beat its current ATH which is $68k+. I know such FOMO is good for price expectation but that's not the right way to go about it.

Quote
*My question for you*

Will you dare take such a gamble if you have the money? 🤑🤑🤑
That's a one sided and handicapped bet. I said that because we know (or I should think we all know) that price won't ever get there in 90 days. So, why indulge the bet?
1624  Economy / Speculation / Re: What about the little increase? on: March 20, 2023, 04:01:10 PM
When I open my wallet I was surprise of the price from $23000 to $26000 that's cool for those who buys recently.

What did you think about the price? Will it pump soon
What I do think, actually, is that you should remember in your momentary excitement that the same way Bitcoin increases in price is the same way it dumps too. On a serious note, price is bound to do well this year and the next one because of speculations around the impact Bitcoin halving will create. Price crossed $28k yesterday. I expect price to go well past the last ATH in this incoming bull season as it's customary for it to do so. Last ATH was $68k+
1625  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What holds you back from investing in Altcoins ? on: March 20, 2023, 05:09:08 AM
The recent price drop of Bitcoin and some bad news on the market may cause a new round of FUD for investors. With the price going down, Bitcoin will be more volatile in the short term and the Altcoins that depend on Bitcoin will go through more ups and downs.
Your statement seems somehow contradictory. From the time you made that comment till now, Bitcoin had been in an upsurge. I don't know where the bear angle in your comment came from.

Quote
Apart from the macro environment factor, what truly holds you back from investing in Altcoins ? Please let me know your thoughts.
Nothing holds me back from investing in altcoin. In fact, if it will count for anything, I've more invested cash in alts than I've in Bitcoin. Those who are staying away from alts do so because they're adverse to risk. Investments in alts are riskier than that in Bitcoin.
1626  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin can do 30k$ this month? on: March 20, 2023, 03:26:18 AM
I get news  from Cointelegraph Markets Pro and TradingView showed BTC/USD gaining almost $1,000 versus overnight lows of $24,229 on Bitstamp.
Two days after this thread got started, Bitcoin almost touched that $30k level but narrowly missed it by $1,650. Though price is retracing now, I expect it to touch support at $26,200 before gathering momentum. We're still 11 days to the end of this month and it could even effortlessly zoom past it if no FUD sets in. However, whatever anyone does; just get on the bus before you miss it and go on a regret spree. The bull is coming.
1627  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why Beginners Should Not Go For Future Trading? on: March 19, 2023, 05:55:29 PM
Beginners Thought : Almost every Beginners think Future Trading is much profitable than Spot trading.
But of course, that's a fact. Anyway, that's if one gets the set skills for it right before venturing into it. Anyone who is conversant with Forex Trading won't find Futures difficult, even if they're noobs in crypto trading. In comparison, Futures is on the speed lane while Spot is on the service lane. That's the way I tend to look at it. Even if one uses a very low leverage in Futures, one can still lose it all. That's not the case with Spot trading. One's coins stay the same when traded in Spot, only losing value which can be regained later. It's not that way with Futures.
1628  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Will you advice a new trader to join a trading community or group? on: March 19, 2023, 04:28:29 PM
...are you part of any trading community or group that you share tips and new strategies?
No man is an island just the same way a tree can't make a forest. It's highly advisable that traders should belong in a trading community they find fit, despite how learned or professional they think they're. If they aren't learning, they will be teaching noobs. Knowledge shouldn't be hoarded. It's either one is giving or one is receiving when it comes to life (trading).

Quote
Are you doing better than when you did things on your own.
Yes, as a trader, I also belong to certain trading communities. Belonging to them doesn't mean that one will always take whatever trade calls or perspectives made therein. However, I'm better off being in these trading communities than if I weren't. They helped broaden my horizon.

Quote
Can there be any major disadvantage being a member of such a trading groups?
Nope, there shouldn't be any disadvantages. One doesn't lose anything cross fertilizing ideas with others. Nonetheless, one has to be very careful to avoid scam groups.

There is a says that said "The harder you works the more luckier you become successful"...you can't keep sleeping and expect luck or miracle to happen sir, ma is really arguable.
Even that mindset depends on luck as against your advice for no one to depend on luck. That's a faulty syllogism. It's faulty in itself in the sense that there's no guarantee that anyone will become successful at anything because they're working their butts off. If it were so, the truck pushers and other unskilled labourers should be among the most successful people then. Perhaps if you're driving towards repeated practice at something to get the better and mastery of it, I can understand that. What comes to mind whenever I hear people say work hard is "work smart". I rather work smart than work hard and I know it's so too for many here.
1630  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The value of bitcoin remains the same on: March 19, 2023, 05:02:10 AM
Those who argue that one Bitcoin remains one Bitcoin aren't seeing from the momentary value it's equated with but from the literary perspective. We know that price changes from time to time and that's what gives Bitcoin its value. I bet those who bought and saw the price at the last ATH of $68k+ would tell you that they're selling in loss now if they do sell at all. It could be they bought below $20k then but will tell you they're in loss even at the current price of $27k+ because they saw it hit $68k+ and are waiting for it to touch it or anywhere close to that before selling. So, value doesn't remain the same. I don't agree to that.
1631  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think Bitcoin can end poverty? In a nation today on: March 18, 2023, 07:26:21 PM
Nothing can ever end poverty in the world. Despite how raw and unpleasant anyone will think that comment of mine is, it's the simple fact. Poverty is as old as prostitution itself. It's like imagining that anything in the world could end prostitution. The best any nation can attempt is to alleviate or reduced the level of its poverty, not end it.

Talking about Bitcoin and poverty, the poor are likely not going to be interested in its investment. Tell me how anyone living below a dollar per day will be interested in anything investment. They're more likely to be concerned with where their next meal comes from.

I read every line of your story and I like the perspective you shared. However, there could've been another dimension to the whole thing if everything had gone awry, don't you think so? I said that because I've seen both private and residential buildings burnt to ground zero and the invested cash gone. I've seen filling stations burnt down too. I've seen people's lands bought with their hard earned money grabbed by government and other grabbers. I've seen lands swallowed by flood and rendered useless. This is to show you that every investment is a risk. Have you ever thought that if you had gone into the taxi business it would've turned out better for you? It could be.

I remember when I was getting into this online trading stuff and family members didn't support it. They wanted me to focus strictly on offline doings. Today, I'm better off and happier that I didn't heed their advice. Sometimes, it's good to stick to one's gun. I'm just saying, anyway.
1633  Economy / Economics / Re: Could Bitcoin one day become the global reserve currency? on: March 18, 2023, 03:10:39 PM
I think these three problems may not be solved and these three problems may prevent bitcoin from being a reserve currency.

What do you think about the subject? Can you share some enlightening information for me?
Sincerely, I don't see Bitcoin becoming a global currency. How can that even be possible when there are so many hiccups and hurdles against it. There are poor nations that are still grasping with electricity challenges till date, include internet issues with it too. Even in years to come, these nations are not likely to have these basic amenities. We can't use Bitcoin without those two – electricity and the internet.

Come to think of it, despite how popular and influential the British Pounds is it's still not a global currency.
1634  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Knowledge Of Bitcoin Is Better Than Speculating on: March 18, 2023, 02:20:57 PM
And because of the rate at which the prices of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies increase or decrease in a particular time, it is better not to regard them as investment.
Are you for real? So, what's investment from your perspective? A thing that doesn't increase or decrease in price and value? Well, I don't know what you intended to drive at with that narrative of yours. Bitcoin, just like stocks and other forms of investments, are subject to increase and decrease.

Quote
Kindly suggest some other valuable skills one can acquire by learning about bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies?
I suggest you get books dealing on two things – Technical and Fundamental Analysis. Read them to understand the basic set skills if you intend to trade them and half of the confusion around price speculation would've been taken care of.
1635  Economy / Economics / Re: Is risky to invest this period on: March 18, 2023, 10:03:34 AM
From the look of things bitcoin price will not come up soon, I guess is better to hold on till when it will show strong signal before putting in money again to escape losses and people who their investment is long over due are already victims of the Price dropping.
If you keep thinking this way, it's most likely you aren't going to ever invest in Bitcoin. Outside Bitcoin, you should know that business is all about risk. Show me a business without risk and I will show you one that doesn't make you money. You talked about waiting for a short signal before buying. When and what presents itself as the "right" signal? Is there ever a right time to buy Bitcoin other than now? Whatever skepticism anyone has about entry price for Bitcoin, they should remember that we're heading into a new ATH for Bitcoin and should shake themselves out of their sluggishness and buy it.

1637  Other / Meta / Re: Should the forum stop advertising mixers? on: March 17, 2023, 05:30:57 AM
Should forum admin consider to stop all campaigns related to mixers?
What about casinos? If we want to toe that line of thought because we also get that accusation of money laundering from that angle too.

Quote
I know forum is against porn campaigns so how about mixers after this fiasco?
Well, I ain't sure that's the way it's. Look at a fresh [Bounty]👑PornAl bounty camping 👑 already staring us in the face.
1638  Economy / Economics / Re: Poor and Rich on: March 14, 2023, 06:52:39 PM
I always wondering why?
It's so because the rich will always have available resources to indulge in whatever business or venture that brings further profit. They utilize any given opportunity they get to make more money while the poor is often held back by fear and lack bedeviling them.

Quote
Is it that the rich have already wealth the day they are born? Have savings and investment?
No one was born rich. Though they can be born into wealthy or rich families, they aren't rich themselves. All men are born bearing nothing into this world.

Quote
I'm not saying I'm already rich but I can say that I'm better than before.
I've continually maintained that the only difference between a poor person and a rich person is the decision they make or take. Opportunities are presented to both but how they choose to react to these opportunities will be up to them and where the opportunities eventually lead them. For instance, there were so many people I talked to about Bitcoin but just a very minute few took that decision of investing in it. Of course, they're better off with that decision today than if they didn't follow it up.
1639  Economy / Economics / Re: The cost of living is trying to kill the living on: March 14, 2023, 03:22:36 PM
While growing up things were quite easy, an I also know that life was also easy for the common man, not until 2018 that things start changing for the worst, from then till now the rate at which inflation have struck my country to an all time high is so alarming.
This is a global misconception as we all tend to think and believe that there was a time things were better than they're now. At every point in time that people have complained of hardship, go and check it there are also people who are smiling in prosperity and affluence from that supposedly hardship. I don't know what country you're from but let me use my country Nigeria as an example. This is a trying moment for the country with complaints of scarcity of cash and inflation. Nevertheless, millionaires are also being raised in the same country at a time like this. It's really a different strokes for different folks kind of situation.
1640  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Early bitcoin investment for my baby on: March 14, 2023, 02:15:22 PM
Few days back, I came across a post encouraging people to use the money well wishers gives to newly born babies and mothers as a gift  to invest in bitcoin for the baby,  then I was pregnant, just delivered 3rd of march.
Congrats on the safe delivery of your baby. I know how that experience changes anyone's conception and view on life, especially if it's a first baby. You know, the one that changes one's status from wife/husband or woman/man to mother/father 🤪

My baby and I has made up to $50 if converted just 10days after giving birth.
That's an appreciable amount of money in my part of the world. It shows you do have givers around you. Your idea of putting that money down in Bitcoin as savings is really a noble one. There's no better time to do that than now that price is about picking up to embrace a new ATH. However, my skepticism is on the duration you said you would hodl it in wait for your new born. 18 years isn't tomorrow or a year after. This is easier said than done but we all know how life doesn't play fair, given that loss, theft and misappropriation could happen within the period. All the same, I wish your plan comes through.
