1681  Economy / Economics / Re: Benefit from Higher Education? on: March 04, 2023, 12:03:13 PM
I wonder if higher education will help for entrepreneurship?
I won't say it won't help or not but it's not the sole thing for it. What formal education does to people is to expose them to curiosity for those who like challenging what they don't know but want to know them. If one keeps a closed mindset, formal education won't help them much, whether in entrepreneurship or other facets of life. For instance, I got exposed to business as a teenager before proceeding to high institution. Formal education is more of theory while real life is practical. If acquiring entrepreneurship skills or learning is what's needed to sustain a business, then those who teach it in schools should be the world's richest individuals. Sadly, it's not so. If you want to go into business, begin to channel your mind and thinking towards that. Follow those who are into business online and watch what they do and their lectures on YouTube. Most of them give business nuggets and strategies out for free.

Lucius, to tell you the truth I don't have pity for anyone who gets scammed by newbies. How do users throw caution to the wind when dealing with others here, especially when it's obvious the account is a noob account. It's on the profile that such an account is newly registered and they go ahead to deal with it. That's an unnecessary risk. It's like crossing a busy road with one's eyes closed.

1685  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in Bitcoin by selling wife's jewelry on: March 03, 2023, 05:41:22 PM
Bitcoin will cross $100k after halving in 2024...
I also speculate that too. In fact, I aim at $120k – $150k. From past data, every new ATH after halving has given us more than double of the ATH it's replacing. Bitcoin's current ATH stands at $68k+. We understand what a double of that means.

Quote
I explained this formula to my wife at night and she was not willing to give me her jewelery at first but today she told me by herself that you can sell my jewelery and invest in Bitcoin.
Since she gave her consent, you're in the clear. Though I hope she doesn't have a change of mind before 2024 to reap the outcome of such an investment. It's a matter a patience to achieve result. For me, I expect the new ATH to come in 2025, not in 2024
1686  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The fruit of greed is never good,, on: March 03, 2023, 04:08:20 PM
There's nothing wrong with trying to be ambitious in trying new things, honestly. However, where the nag is when people get offers of financial gratifications from total strangers and they fall for it. The internet isn't a safe place and that's why we ought to always be cautious. Scam activities are more pronounced on Telegram than on any other social media sites. A few days ago, I came across one that tried talking smooth and had a girlie picture and name on their profile. I wasn't moved by all that but I played along until I got to the point where I asked them how much they wanted to scam me of. It was at that point that the conversation paused. Opening links sent to you for business purposes from total strangers should be seen as one opening oneself to scam.
1687  Economy / Speculation / Re: How was your belief formed? on: March 02, 2023, 05:29:27 AM
~snipped~
I don't mean to be patronizing, but it would be better to let down the ego a little.

~
We do have that ego and pride specially when its been touched up earlier because you had been ignored nor really that been rejected.
Well guys, not really ego bruising. Slighted, yes but not ego crushed. It was more of them allowing their ignorance to drown my goodwill for them as it were. Ego was the last thing that crossed my mind while that experience I narrated took place. Now, going back to repeat anything about Bitcoin to those set of people would be a waste of my precious time. I don't have such time to waste as I'm more occupied now than I was then. However, that's not to say one or two of them from the past haven't realized what they missed then not listening to me.
1688  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Awareness and Redemption on: February 28, 2023, 10:09:30 PM
However, I stayed because I wanted to confirm and see it for myself, and from what I saw and experienced, I realized how unproductive and time-wasting they are.
As it stands now, bounty campaigns are a precious waste of time. Your friend must've relayed to you the golden era of bounty campaigns here. I guess that era ranged from  2016 - 2017. That was when a lot of users who were serious hunting it made cool cash. Now, not anymore.

I ultimately made the decision to make amends and resolved to be more engaged with other forum sections to learn more about it and, ideally, discover Bitcoin. I'm hoping I still have time to start over and prove myself in this place. I need guidance
Yeah, this is a nice way to fast track your step back to the right route. Hopefully, you keep to this resolution and you will see how things turn for better for you.
1689  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Your bitter-sweet experience in trading that you can't get over. on: February 28, 2023, 09:08:50 PM
We all know trading is risky and can cause emotional trauma if not seen and taken in two ways, either positively or negativily, either you win or you lose.It can be good and at the same time can make you sad.
Paradoxically, losing is a part of winning when it comes to trading. Sadly, most traders don't want to be reminded of losing or have that mandatory feel of is. No gain without pain as they say in gym houses, and I think that also rightly applies to trading. Newbie traders are often indoctrinated on how marvellous and easy trading is and how they can make so and so amount of cash in a single day. So, these noobs come into trading with that mindset. A few days down the line, account is blown. The process is repeated until they learn or quit in bitterness.

Quote
What are those bad and good experiences you've had ever since you started trading?
There are numerous ones to remember. However, the pleasant experiences are more than the bad ones.
1690  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is your profit taking strategy? on: February 28, 2023, 08:15:37 PM
I took out my initial investment in two of the altcoins I hold once they 2x so now have free money in them that I am hoping will see some good returns in the next bull run.
Still, it's not yet "free money" until you've sold off. Profit seen on screen isn't profit taken. I've seen several instances where tokens rise in price only for them to slump and in some cases, become worthless in price value.

Quote
It got me thinking what is the best way to take profits and if taking out my investment at 2x was a clever move or if I did so too early?

Just wondering what everyone else does when it comes to taking profits?
Well, I think taking profit is something that's subject to individual disposition and. For instance, I like to take profit by piece meal on the average of 25% on my investment or I do something like 95% if I think that token is going to scam or abandoned. I do not sell just for the fashion of it.
1691  Other / Meta / Re: what should a newbie do 1st on this forum? on: February 28, 2023, 06:32:14 PM
~
I don't think there's a one-size-fits-all type of response in this as it's different strokes for different folks. People come to this forum with different intentions in mind and it will really not be easy trying to streamline everyone's attitude. As that may be, I don't think it's necessary for newbies to stake their wallet addresses here. They should grow their accounts first before anything. The most important thing newbies should do is read and read to gain knowledge and then respect the rules and regulations of this forum to stay out of trouble.
1692  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: About Rapid Wealth Accumulation on: February 28, 2023, 04:26:04 PM
How to go from poor to millionaire fast in crypto?
First off – there's no shortcut to wealth anywhere, cryptos inclusive. It can happen but that's by chance. The number of it happening is really infinitesimal. To be rich in cryptos, you don't have to be greedy to the point of bloating your expectations. By that I mean, you don't expect your $100 investment to afford you something like 1000% as ROI. It can also happen but don't let such be your expectations. You've to learn and know when to take profit. You can do that percentage sales of let's say 25% per each sale. Don't sell off everything whenever you're taking profit. Leave something on the table. The last, only gems can fetch you unimaginable ROI but you've to know how to identify these gems. This is where research becomes important.
1693  Other / Archival / Re: Bitcointalk, we have a new member of the forum administration on: February 28, 2023, 02:35:49 PM
But, I'm pretty sure we haven't seen the last of him.
What else will he do, resurrect like a cat with nine lives? Well, if that user comes back here that it will be under disguise. Otherwise, it's another ban for them.
1694  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My father thinks I'm working in a shop,he didn't know I'm bitcointalking. on: February 28, 2023, 11:06:47 AM
Technology has made life somehow easy for us today. In the days of our father, they had no idea about working online, all their work to make money were done physically, and with strength, either they engaged in mini or mega business that will provide money for them.
The internet didn't become a thing in my country until the year 2000 or so. Before then, no one would believe anyone could make money staying at home. It was unimaginable because that would be like expecting to get money in the thin air. The belief in the pre-internet era was for people to work hard to earn. This day, it has moved from that to "work smart."

Quote
Now my father asks me about my shop, and where it's located,I told him I'm bitcointalking, and he doesn't know what I'm talking. What do yours tell you?
Lol. Did your father understand what you meant by "bitcointalking" then? I wouldn't put it that way. I would rather tell them (or anyone) that I'm into online biz. I guess you're enjoying it here. BTW, if you prefer online jobs to offline ones you could throw yourself into online businesses too to increase your sources of earning. It's important you don't put all your eggs in a single basket.
1695  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading season? on: February 27, 2023, 10:18:47 PM
I was kind of confused little about something, after someone walked on to me and was telling me that in trading, there are seasons when you profit from it (lucky days) and when but when I asked for an explanation, he didn't give a clear explanation, so I had to bring it up here to know if there are truly seasons of profits in trading and how can I identify such seasons?
Except your friend is a conservative trader who waits for price to go up and then sell. Wait again to buy from the dip to sell again when price goes up. Repeat. Traders like your friend only get to trade and get profitable when the market is on the rise. That's spot trading. Futures traders trade every single day they want whether price is rising or falling and still make profit. However, if your friend was talking about traders getting lucky in trades I will say yes there are days like that. Those days are days when traders wait patiently for their setups to hit and not forcing trades to come to them. Apart from that, I don't believe trading is about luck. No, it's not. It's purely about getting the set skills right and being patient enough to trade one's setups.
1696  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What bitcoin can do on: February 27, 2023, 09:45:49 PM
You're come from Nigeria, so I'm sure you're move into near of Nigeria, so I wouldn't surprised if many people want to accept Bitcoin payment because I've read so many thread where Nigerian citizens are tend to trade via direct P2P due to banking ban.
That bank ban is so much relaxed now that we've almost forgotten there was a time it happened. Even the P2P engagements all go through the banks because payments are made in fiat. All we do is skip the narration part. Putting crypto related tag in that column for narration was what implicated so many crypto traders' bank accounts when that ban happened as they got frozen. Again, concerning what OP mentioned about the ease of transacting in Bitcoin as against fiat; that's absolutely true. I've weighed all the fiat and Bitcoin transactions I've done and discovered that Bitcoin transactions were less stressful for me. Things like that will continue to make Bitcoin more relevant and in demand.
1697  Economy / Reputation / Re: Discrimination against bounty hunters on: February 27, 2023, 06:02:40 PM
I stand to be corrected anyway if my submission is not accurate.
You raised quite a number of interesting issues there. Some of which I've observed myself. On the restriction posting in the Altcoin board, I think it may not be solely a decision taken solely by the managers but in conjunction with projects they're promoting. It's a case of he who pays the piper calls the tune. I like your decision not to get into bounties. Trust me, most of the projects there are a waste of time. It's a regular occurrence there for hunters to get cheated out of their rewards, either by managers or the projects being promoted. Besides, token rewards are often worthless after payment as most of them don't eventually get listed on exchanges. The discrimination thing you talked about in respect to posting is because no one likes reading spam posts. I don't like it too. So, if I know or believe a particular section of this forum is highly dominated with spam posts; why would I want to visit it then?
1698  Economy / Reputation / Re: 6 account has contacted! (Full member,1)(member,4)(newbie,2) on: February 27, 2023, 02:43:24 PM
OP if your complaint (indirectly) is that those accounts are related farmed accounts, the best place to make that complaint should be
Known Alts of any-one. There are users there who are gifted and will be willing to dot the "i"s and cross the "t"s for you, speedily.
1699  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: yahoo62278 scammed the forum with his fake donation (part 2) on: February 27, 2023, 11:48:54 AM
Yahoo didn't say a word back to me after the donation. No thanks, not anything. He just took the money like a pig.
What's even wrong with humanity? So, your issue with Yahoo is that he didn't show gratitude to you or sing your praises and loud it that you gave him cash? What's the place of silently giving alms that you don't understand? It's bad enough that you're trying to kick a guy that is down. Health issues are something anyone can be faced with. That you don't have any now doesn't mean you're above having it. Quite this childish attack. If you've evidence that Yahoo is deceitful on this, provide them or else hold your peace and be calm.
1700  Other / Archival / Re: Bitcointalk, we have a new member of the forum administration on: February 27, 2023, 08:22:48 AM
I think the essence of the scam will be the so-called paid help for various users, various newbies and users who are not familiar with the structure of the forum. For example, help in unbanning or getting a rank. I have not yet seen a single case when someone would decide to proclaim himself a representative of the administration.
I don't know any sane person that will want to patronise a painted account. I checked the user's profile and saw that they were already tagged in previous years. At the moment, they've only got just one tag for this act of claiming they're an admin. So, chances of anyone falling for farlack's antics is highly infinitesimal. Thank you for disrupting them more.

Quote
Interestingly, such misrepresentation and abuse of the signature should be somehow punished? If not a ban, then disabling the signature, for life.
I think the tags are enormous enough for warning the community. That account is already destroyed even without banning it.
