...One could go and argue that Havelock owns the AM shares ...

Yeah, one could.  One would be dead wrong tho.  Funny you bring up TaT, haven't seen much of him after that NeoBee thingy.  Funny how people just sorta fade out, Starfish, TaT...

Still ghosting but he's on Bitcoin-Assets and then went off to twitter
http://log.bitcoin-assets.com/

Meanwhile shares hold their resistance at 0.01
Well if there was a miracle IPO price would be 10X returns better than a Ponzi (Investor Based Games) perhaps lol.

How many would now be HAPPY to take IPO price as a forced buy back?

Haven't used them yet, but they set up my account with a $750 deposit limit.   Roll Eyes
Thankfully I got most of what I wanted through Cavirtex in Dec - Feb.   I guess it's better to be cautious, but with the degree of verification required, I would have expected at least 2-3x that to start.  Cavirtex was never a problem if deposits were broken into <9k chunks.  Of course, they didn't survive, so who knows  Tongue  I'd really like to hear some feedback before sending QuadrigaCX my money....

Today is a good day, BTC up and one of the few alts I hold XMR rose 30%.

XMR broke 0.002BTC, pretty exciting! https://poloniex.com/exchange#btc_xmr

Glad I got in for dirt cheap Cheesy

If you are going to buy alts, why not buy actual 2.0 coins with lots of features?

Because the best anonymity features are in XMR.

And the dev team. Actually developing for the future, not next week's pump n dump.

big drop is incoming!!!!!

You were right!

All the Makings of a 'sell high, buy higher' episode.

Does anyone know what the IPO price was when AM started up? Not sure why, but I am considering buying some shares. I remember I almost bought some around 2 BTC each a year back.

...@ Bob and Mr_e If anything the oldest lurker in the lurker contest except Transito is Mr_E myself and a few others pre page 5 (heh-heh proved transito wrong once lol went to check) puts on bond glasses....

It's Transisto ! ... yep always lurking.

Seems like everyone has to chime in with a ticket to get his bitcoin withdrawal enabled.

Was anyone able to get their coins without phoning in ?

Not yet.  I replied to the email, but no further response.  I can wait until March 25 for my .06  Grin

There is a wall of 200 btc wall at 0.00194....

Aaaaand... it's gone.

Instead, there is 200 btc buy support above the yesterday's low  Grin

my app says yesterdays low was 0.0014? did it miss a trade?
EDIT: that low was about 36h ago

Where are you trading at and with what app? I'm using Poloniex for buying my Monero, but the UI is soooo slow and nearly broken on my android.

Polo crashes my phone, and my mediocre laptop barely functions.  Crazy resource hog.  Since I don't trade much, I can put up with it to buy my moneroj.  It sure would be nice to have a 'light' version with fewer features though.

Just...wow  !  After following this thread daily to almost never now a days I get on here and read these last two pages and fuck, not sure what to say.  Glad I saw the wind change this time and sold my lame 6 or 7 shares left 2 or 3 weeks ago.

If this is for real what a crazy rollercoaster its been. From a 4 BTC a share high to this. On a more negative note, if even AM is a scam, then crap: most to all of my bitcoin investments have ended in a scam or a hack.  F.C was just about the one guy in bitcoin that I always thought positively about lol.

Kidnapped? Lol really. You can't be serious.

Indeed it has been a while rollercoaster
In retrospect Vycid was the ultimate winner of this thread lol

Ain't that the truth!  But... It ain't over till the Fried Cat sings.  Held on this long,  lets see what's at the end.

"basic", motherfuckers. I'm not criticizing him for inability to use a sextant or know the  difference between a ketch and a yawl. These are basic terms.

But can yawl ketch a ball?
M1 and M2 2U2 R2D2 MFs!

This thread is too much fun!

You have no business owning something when you can't even get the basic fucking nomenclature right.

I have sometimes wondered why txn_count is always 0.  Have you ever pondered what might happen in 2106 when the timestamp header field overflows?  Maybe we should hard fork now to fix that.

You understand the nomenclature, right?

You understand the word "basic"?

As in, 'we all basically understood what he meant'   Tongue

But you're right.  It does feel good to jump down someone's throat for no reason  Cheesy

that's what i'm sayin ... if it has more than 1 bedroom , a kitchen , full bath , and is bluewater capable ... it's a yacht in my book ... those extra feet won't help you spear fish any better anyways Tongue

1 stateroom, a galley, full head

You obviously don't know shit about boats.
You have no business owning something when you can't even get the basic fucking nomenclature right.

Wow.  So I guess you have a perfect understanding (and grasp of nomenclature, of course) of everything you use/own/aspire to own.  Impressive.   Care to run down the nomenclature pertaining to the suspension and drive systems on your car? or the weave/stitching on your red neck T-shirt?  Or do you have no business owning it?  Lighten up.  Or crawl back in your bottle.  You are ever so much more entertaining when you are drunk.

On www.iasicminer.com it looks like a new product was listed today (2015 - 03 - 02). Am I misunderstanding something?

Is the website code just reading the date on your computer?

Ask again tomorrow  Wink

Who knows.  Most news ends up here once it's stale and old.  Maybe we find out by the end of the month if someone is kind enough to translate.  Otherwise its just the FUDsters going around and around.  Can't blame FC and co. much for avoiding this cesspool of childish tantrums and poo flinging.  I'd avoid it myself, if there was a better information source for English speakers.  Maybe a quarterly email with a few bullet points of what's going on...

On a positive note, Havelock is back up, and my balances are there.  Flip side, there is no trading available  Tongue

If I ever buy a boat, it will only be because I need a way to get to my new island.

Just take the helicopter.  Boats are so slow.
2576  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 03, 2015, 12:27:40 AM
Yeah owning a boat is expensive as hell. Repairs, fuel, rent, winter storage, crew (if you have a yacht), taxes... you need a steady income for something like that, not a one-time Bitcoin cashout.

Lotto winners and professional athletes/musicians who come from humble beginnings run into this problem all the time---they underestimate how expensive a "rich" lifestyle is. Not to mention you have family and friends who feel entitled to handouts coming out of the woodwork.

Buying a boat just might be the stupidest possible financial decision you could make.

Buying Bitcoins at $1100 in Nove 2013 is a better decision.
Heck, giving your coins to cryptodouble.com mightve been a better decision. Wink

If BTC eventually goes to your fantasy price, and you cash out and blow the money on a boat, you deserve to go broke again and spend the rest of your life in regret at how badly you wasted the opportunity.

Just because the stupid rich people blow their money on boats doesn't mean you should too.

If btc goes to fantasy price, and you are not then stupid rich yourself,  you did it wrong.

just multiply your own max position by 1000 and think what happens  Grin )

But don't worry, it's not this week or month, I hope...

That's more XMR than will ever exist !!  Shocked

LOL  I wonder how many 5-6 figure holders there are.  What happened to statdude?

Wow, that seems nice. My offer concerning the ingame hosting of the list seems needless, but the bonuses I will of course give to everyone who registers in CK in the appointed timeframe!  Cheesy

Where does one do this?
2579  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: February 28, 2015, 01:08:02 AM
This is getting OT but "desktop" is increasingly irrelevant.

Desktop in this context also means laptops.

I was including laptops. Computing is moving almost entirely to mobile (including broadly tablets and chromebooks) and the cloud. More mobile devices are sold every year than the installed base of computers, and the former is still growing (the latter not significantly). The cloud runs on Linux almost entirely, although in most cases the end user has no access to that. But at least the operator/provider of the service isn't running a spyware OS. They will often be running in a spyware virtual machine though.

Overall it is a rather bleak picture in Orwellian terms, but it is important not to focus too much on one increasingly narrow segment at the expense of understanding the entire landscape.

I always wonder why a company doesn't cut out a niche as the "Privacy" tech company and offer users a series of tech solutions that are easy to use and Big Brother free. If people are willing to die for liberty, they're probably willing to pay for it too. Seems like privacy solutions require a huge cost in time and proficiency which is not readily available (or available at all to the less tech savvy) the same way a few extra bucks are.

"Easy to use computer that is spy ready VS spending your life learning the ins and outs of computer privacy" seems like a terrible paradigm if your goal is to end the threat of an Orwellian world.

"Easy to use computer that is spy ready VS easy to use computer that is spy free and is updated by the seller for a nominal fee" seems like a paradigm that could work.

As a rule, that secure company becomes corrupted through force or greed or subversion of some kind,  sooner or later.
