Gotcha!

Totally understand now.

So what are your predictions for today eh?  Wink

I don't do immediate term predictions.  Well, not ones that I'd put money on  Cheesy
1742  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 02, 2017, 07:24:03 AM
I think that would be unlikely to be honest unless some major sh*t happens.

It has a very very strong support at $130

Who's to say you can't have your cake and eat it too?

It's not like $5000 BTC is a pipe dream.  (Pretty sure it's gonna happen.  Soon.)

Heya Explorer,

No idea what you are talking about Smiley

I wasn't talking about BTC so no clue what you are on about.   Huh

.026 BTC per XMR  @ $5000 BTC is still $130 XMR...

literally just rolled back in from vacation...could I please get an executive summary?

Bitcoin.  Doing bitcoin things.  Same old same old.  New level.
1745  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 02, 2017, 01:58:21 AM
Well, guys... heh... so far RED RED RED, not what we expected, eh?

Is this P&D actually this time gonna be a "Dump & Pump" instead?

Or just a big Dump & Dump incoming...?

Whales are TESTING for STRONG HANDS first...? ? ? ? ?

We still gonna see a pump, a new ATH still coming?  Anyone's ideas for the weekend changing?

I am curious too, however its just too hard to say at this point and its only 10.40AM in Korea as well.

A new ATH would be nice but seems far fetched. Let's see.  Smiley

BTC and LTC eating a lot of the pie ATM.

Volume increasing from ghastly to dismal...
1746  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 02, 2017, 12:12:58 AM
I have been watching Monero for a while and I have considered investing, but 2 things concern me; the scalability, and the fact that in the coming years Bitcoin is likely to get similar anonymity and fungibility features.

I would suggest that if you truly can't tell the difference that baked in anonymity brings compared to a transparent blockchain you shouldn't invest.

Think about it... how many years did it take the bitcoin devs fighting about changing the block size before anything happened?  So how in the world do you think they could EVER add privacy at the protocol level and not have multiple hard forks with competing approaches?  It will never happen!

And how it happened.  Or sort of tried to happen.  What a clusterfuck.  Bitcoin384 might be the fork that can compete with XMR.  If it comes with a way-back-machine.

This event is fizzer so far, but hey up a little I guess

4 AM on the first day of a 2 day event.  It could happen yet...
1748  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 01, 2017, 05:42:35 PM
i have only very less monero. i bought them very cheap. i do not know why i did not buy more. anyway, i do not sell my xmr soon, my target price is 500 dollar at least.
what do you think guys? when will it be 500 dollar?

Year and a half?

Pessimist!  Wink

Really!  Not even a freak dump will take it down to 500 in 2019.
1749  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 01, 2017, 04:07:31 PM

bithumbers blew their wad early  Huh

Bithumb supposed to be the 2nd largest exchange in the world, and all they could manage was a quick pop over $150 at the starter's pistol, then immediate fall back to $145? Srsly? LOL

IF there's gonna be *anything* at all to this weekend 'event' I'd have to guess "the night is young" yet  Tongue

If not, I made all this popcorn for nothing...  Cheesy

I was looking at the volume.  Big pop (far less than opening day), then back to the usual within the hour.
 2 things to keep in mind:  It's 1AM there, and it's a 48hr event.
I'm going to take a nap.  Wake me if it gets interesting, or when breakfast is served.
1750  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 01, 2017, 03:48:54 PM
Fucking Polo cooler-ed the pump. I hope the weak hands all get shaken out on this one. Smiley

How so?  They anticipated some, and sustained a higher price throughout the opening (still).

bithumbers blew their wad early  Huh
1751  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 01, 2017, 03:01:35 PM
I bet a quick big dump at first and, just after, a huuuuge pump !!!

I thought the pump has finished, it is now consolidating.

Event starts now.
1752  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 01, 2017, 02:57:13 PM
BOOM

That was nice.  Let's see what's next.

Big wall @ 42...   Its like the old days, just 1 less zero  Cheesy
1753  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 01, 2017, 08:52:17 AM
They moved opposite for a while, then they moved together for a while.

Now they seem quite disconnected imho?

I agree that is doesn't seem predictable lately.  Currently XMR edging higher, while BTC nudges out new ATH's.
1754  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: August 31, 2017, 11:47:30 PM
Speculation:  There will be XMR billionaires by the end of next year.  Wrap your hear around THAT one.
I wouldn’t go that far. I mean even if it quadrupled in price (hitting 600$) then in order for somebody to be a billionaire then they’d need to be holding 250 million dollars worth of Monero. Even if it went 1 thousand times you'd still need a million worth of XMR to become a billionaire.

The math is not complicated.  400K XMR @ $2500 and there you go.  or 200K @ $5000.  Manipulate at will.  16 month window,   Say 5X BTC increase, and 5X XMR:BTC increase, or some combination (would put XMR ~$3500).   We just had a 2X in 8 hours, and 3X in a week in XMR.   BTC is up about 5X in the last 8 months.  Is that a lot?  Yeah, it sure is.  Hardly unprecedented though.

That would be quite a call. You don't see a dip in price or a correction. IT was quite a big rise from 50 --> 150ish.

Of course there will be corrections.  But a 3X move in crypto can't be called big.  It took a whole week.  What do you call the 10X, 20X + moves?
 Bitcoin 100X in 2013
Monero  ~20X in 2016 (~10x so far 2017, looking like that can be made into 20+ pretty soon).
ETH whatever astronomical rise it had in 2016-2017
You think its all over?  Shut off the lights, there's nothing left to see in this space?

I'm sure there are those who hold enormous sums of XMR out there, but I don't see how XMR billionaires can happen until Monero starts to approach a market cap in the hundreds of billions.

hehe there will be many millionares

new young people with ideas and knowledge in crypto

8K Monero and you are already a millionaire.  This is a coin that spent looong periods at well below a dollar.  There are a lot of XMR millionaires already.

Damn.  I didn't factor all those boating accidents.  OK.  So in a few years, we may see one or two millionaires.  IF they choose to show themselves  Grin

Its always interesting to look back at past action, and compare.  Like BTC comparing  the spikes to 32, 250, 1200.  Each makes the last look insignificant.  A year ago, the XMR volume was so high that it made all previous disappear from significance. I was just looking at this (USD vol)

  https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/monero/

It's Happening!

Oh, and Bithumb is now represented.

Aha okay, thanks... RangeDriver, you there bro?  Paging RangeDriver Paging RangeDriver Cheesy

~0.026 marks the 38.2% retraction and coincides with previous resistance.

That should be a pretty reliable floor if you're able to get in there.

Yeah, cool... thanks for reply.

I did get a little more IN today at about 0.028, but that's prob gonna be IT for me for this upcoming RUN (hopefully if it materializes, hope hope)

More what I'm wondering however is where to likely get OUT during this upcoming expected (??) frenzy triggered by the Korea promotion?

Aminorex said earlier in this thread that maybe he thought a peak about 060 was max we would see, so I'm tentatively thinking to be ready to get out around 050 or 045 just to be safe, leave a few chips on the table just trying to not be the patsy LOL

What do you think? 060-ish too high/low... and tentative timeframe for all this to play out before we stabilize (I'm guessing somewhere in $120-$150 range?)

Difficult to say right now. I wouldn't want to call it just yet.

Hey Keyjockey,

After reading your comment I am seriously interested to know since we have now stabilized at $130 and the sell walls are enormous how are you predicting 050-0.45 I cant even image 060.

What kind of time frame are you talking about 4-5 months. I dont even see us hitting 050 after the Korean Bithumb event.

Please elaborate.

Bear in mind that those 'enormous sell walls' will either be eaten rapidly, or pulled when the frenzy starts.  A year ago polo did over 6 million xmr in a day.  So even factoring USD price, its still a lot more than the enourmous sell walls we see now.
