261  Economy / Goods / Re: ~ Buying a TESLA CYBERTRUCK with BITCOIN ~ on: August 24, 2023, 01:55:36 PM
Tesla’s site now lists the option to redeem tickets for the Cybertruck delivery event in Austin, Texas. In order to qualify you must have 30,000 credits, which is equal to three Tesla referrals. Unfortunately, I haven’t referred 3 people to buy Teslas so I won’t be able to attend. A shame as I would have loved to been there. Anybody want to buy 3 Teslas?

I can't believe that such a friendly charismatic rich person as yourself would not have at least 3 friends IRL to rope into this laughable MLM scheme refer to buy such a fantastic flawless ahead-of-its-time vehicle.

Looks like Progozhin and Utkin - the two leaders of the Wagner group - have died in a plane crash near Moscow, which of course was a total accident, perhaps a pilot error, but totally definitely not e.g. shot down by a SAM.

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/mercenary-chief-prigozhin-in-plane-crash-wagner-rcna101443

You gotta give it to the "nice guy" Putin, this is far more elaborate than falling out of a window of a tall building, or poisoning.

What does this have to do with Bitcoin?

And this:

Already have a favorite exchange but want to emulate its success? RWaltz Software's exchange cloning packages provide an innovative solution.

sounds like you're trying to cash in on phishing scams.

Everything you need to know has already been explained by other members in one of your previous posts[1] But in short, no one is going to trust to send you collateral first when you're a newbie. Your terms don't make much sense.

OP is not looking for advice here, more like a backdoor way of promoting their service. "Hey I totally have a legitimate forum question that definitely belongs in meta even though I already know the answer".
267  Other / Meta / Re: BPIP and reading personal messages on: August 19, 2023, 12:20:13 PM
Thank you for your comment. From our conversation, I realized that theoretically, if you modify the BPIP extension, it will be able to read any information on any open page. Accordingly, if a page with private messages is opened, the extension will be able to read what is written there. But if do not open the private messages page when the extension is running, it will not be able to read private messages. And the extension has no access to the encrypted database itself, where private messages of forum users are stored.

I feel like "modifying extension code" is misunderstood in this context. I can't modify the code in your browser without you noticing. You can modify the code in your browser but then you would be reading your own PMs. Someone else can't modify the code in your browser to sneak into your PMs.

That's a possibly because the source code is open and anyone with programming knowledge can modify the code and redistribute the extension to the users. Those malicious actors won't be able to update the extension which was posted on chrome extension site by the original creator but they can create fake versions of the extension with same credentials.

So that would be someone creating a new, separate, malicious extension. I don't think this has anything to do with BPIP. Such a malicious person wouldn't even need our code - there is nothing special in it and it doesn't have anything that would help reading the PMs and/or sending them somewhere. But yes, if you install a random extension and grant it permissions to bitcointalk.org (or gmail, or your bank's website), chances are that bad things could happen.
268  Other / Meta / Re: BPIP and reading personal messages on: August 18, 2023, 09:53:51 PM
That's possible and can be done by a malicious actor who knows JavaScript programming.

Extensions are signed and tied to the author's account so only the author of the extension can update it. You're making it sound like anybody can do it. That's not correct. The "malicious actor" can change the code (on the actor's computer) but they won't be able to deploy it to other users.
269  Other / Meta / Re: BPIP and reading personal messages on: August 18, 2023, 09:26:27 PM
Sorry to be intrusive Smiley One last question on this theme and I'll get off your back. Is it possible to add code to an extension and still access private forum user message or is it a priori impossible without getting additional permissions from theymos?

What logfiles said. It is possible in theory but only if you install a new version of the extension. You can disable automatic updates and/or review the source code of any new version that gets installed so you (the user) can be in full control of this.

theymos doesn't get any say in this. It's entirely up to you, your browser, and the extensions you install in your browser.

(edit - spelling)
270  Other / Meta / Re: BPIP and reading personal messages on: August 18, 2023, 07:35:32 PM
Can you answer me specifically, you can use the BPIP extension to read my private message. What permissions do I have to grant the extension to do this? I want to make sure that theymos words are not outdated and still valid. And to convince the esteemed Lucius of this.

I can't read your PMs. There is no code in the extension that would send the contents of PMs to me (or to anyone). It's as simple as that. This can be verified by anyone with some Javascript proficiency.

There are no additional permissions that could change this. As I mentioned, the extension already has full permission to access bitcointalk.org content in your browser but it only uses this permission for the narrow purposes it's designed for.

So the short answer is NO. Whether that will convince Lucius - I don't know.
271  Other / Meta / Re: BPIP and reading personal messages on: August 18, 2023, 07:08:32 PM
Okay, let's do it that way. I registered an alternate account Light_Warrior (Alt) and sent a test message to that account. Let the reputable suchmoon read this message using his BPIP extension. I'll even allow him to post it here in this thread.

As others already pointed out, the extension has the permission to do it, which you grant to the extension when you install it. Something along the lines of "access any data on bitcointalk.org", meaning as you browse bitcointalk.org with your browser (logged in or not) the extension would have access to anything your browser downloads from bitcointalk.org. And the extension makes use of this permission to inject snippets of HTML - such as links to BPIP/loyce.club/ninjastic.space, merit counts, etc - into bitcointalk.org pages as you browse them. It does not collect your PMs though. You can verify that by looking at its source code, or you would have to trust the developers, which is what I was attempting to say in that post that Lucius quoted.

I don't know the full context that made you create this thread so let me point one other thing that is blatantly obvious but doesn't appear to be stated in that quote: the extension works only in the browser instance where it is installed and enabled. If you don't have it installed (as is the case for 99.9% users) then you don't have the above theoretical risk.
272  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 15, 2023, 03:41:50 PM
I guess it depends on when you were born.

I was born in the 1940s so I still kinda think of the 1950s as being "modern".

You know: transistors replacing vacuum tubes, jets replacing propeller airliners, rock&roll replacing swing, computer punchcards, beatniks, etc... ultra modern.

I still think of Eminem as being recent even though many here weren't even born when he was recording.

My grandmother was born in a time of horses and buggies, kerosene lamps and telegraphs. By the time she died at the age of 97 she'd seen the coming of electric lights, cars, radios, airplanes, income taxes, 2 world wars, the great depression, the atom bomb, television, men on the moon and computers in people's homes.

I remember horses on the streets of Toronto, washboards, iceboxes, shellac records, and vacuum tube radios and coal furnaces, but I was quick to jump into computers, the internet, peer-to-peer filesharing, decentralization and of course Bitcoin.

You can relate to the past without being stuck in it.

When you put it that way... I guess it was exciting to see the progress (well... kinda... until facetwit was invented) over the last 40 years. From having to go to a phone to pick it up, waiting for your favorite show on TV once a week, using a paper map/atlas, or having to go to a library to search for information, to having all that and much more in my pocket is quite cool and impossible to explain to my kids.

I also had the misfortune to witness a revolution, 1/5 stars, would not recommend, but it happened and it was exciting for all the wrong reasons.

I see suchmoon is back from a stint of maternity leave - congratulations.  Hopefully you are refreshed and can see the world in a new light.  (I have your posts on ignore, so I haven't followed if you have reverted to form or are a new woman - hopefully it's the latter).

I don't think that's how "maternity leave" works but it's not like complete detachment from reality has ever stopped you from derailing threads.

If you don't like the presented evidence you could just "~" instead of trying to make it about you. It's not about you. Move on. Get a life or two.
274  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 14, 2023, 12:58:06 PM
we are old anyone over 55 qualifies as old.

fuck I am 66 still think like I am 16 . I just had my 37th year wedding anniversary does not feel like it

I'm not 55 yet but I do remember 1980s, kinda sorta... although come to think of it, most of the 1980s music/movies/etc I got to know maybe in early 1990s. Still that's 30 YEARS AGO. Fucking hell... Intel 486 and Windows 3.1 and the first Miata. 30 YEARS. I refuse to believe it. Must be some sort of lizard conspiracy.

Damn this makes me feel old... this movie was made 40 YEARS AGO? How is this possible. Feels like last week.
276  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: August 14, 2023, 12:41:44 PM
Let me attempt to summarize this. I asked you a question, you reply that you feel that "your sentences doesn't make then something to be answered" and proceed to compare it with '"Firehose" of loaded questions used to be prominent in Soviet propaganda'. How many questions exactly have i asked you that you feel that there's a "firehose" of them? Then i say it's an excuse to not engage in a conversation and just shitpost. And you reply with "another staple of Soviet/Putin propaganda - projection." I rebut with show me where i don't answer your question/not engaging in a conversation. You follow that with Straw man ... I don't care enough about your delusions to have any questions for you.

Just for shits and giggles I opened the last page of your post history and searched for a question mark ("?"). 180 results. Granted this includes quotes and you tend to ladder-quote a lot, but still, it's an excessive number. For example 1miau and paxmao have 50 each, many of which come from quoting you. I hope that settles your question about questions. People who have something to say (like actual opinions or facts) don't have to wrap it into this "I'm just a bystander asking a question" nonsense. Thus your statement about not engaging in a conversation and just shitposting is a projection. You do this excessively and you accuse others of it.
277  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: August 13, 2023, 03:39:20 PM
Either show me where I'm not answering your questions or stop using long words that you don't know the meaning of.

Straw man (or as you would say "show me where I said that you're not answering my questions"). I don't care enough about your delusions to have any questions for you. Z-telegram is full of stuff that you keep reposting - boring, repetitive, mostly false garbage - so I'm quite familiar with the topic and the style, thank you very much. It's just funny to observe you pretending (or genuinely believing) that you're so smart being able to post it here.

I see that you're also seeing "Kremlin copypasta" everywhere. Care to point where this "Kremlin copypasta" is? Is "Kremlin copypasta" with you in your room right now? Are the western news articles themselves now "Kremlin copypasta"? And if it's not, then somehow me citing them is what's making it propaganda in your head? Or we're down to the simpletron level with the following logic: IF negative coverage of Ukraine THEN yell Kremlin propaganda!

Aaaaaand again with the "western news articles" and meaningless "questions" that I must answer because reasons. Let me try, maybe it will work for you... Do I look like I'm some sort of supervisor of "western news" and must explain everything they publish? Is "western news" with you in your room right now? Have you tried "eastern news" - maybe it would be less anxiety-inducing for you?
278  Economy / Reputation / Re: PrimeNumber7 is an alt of Quickseller, Take 2 on: August 13, 2023, 12:04:18 PM
What have the overall reactions been from QS and PN7?

Haven't kept up with everything, just looking for a general "ignore, deny, get cagey and defensive", feels like each has to be one of those three.

PN7 lashed out at me with typical QS nonsense (made up accusations of scamming, of sockpuppeting nutildah, etc) so as far as I'm concerned this is further proof that they're alts. Also gave some absurd excuses that phone spell checker was the reason for common language patterns.

I will say up front that Suchmoon has been making innuendoes of the underlying connection for months. I also have good reason to believe he has been trying to get some people who are active in handing out tags to notice this connection "on their own". This leads me to believe the evidence is not strong (see OP), or has the potential to reflect poorly on Suchmoon for some reason.

Further, with the near admission of puppetry used in this thread, I would question your claim of lack of involvement in this thread, and this one...

It is clear to me this has been spread by Suchmoon since mid May, this included by a trust exclusion and a neutral rating (I don't remember which one came first). This happened to be within a few weeks of getting a rule prohibiting the sale of KYC verified accounts without explaining how they are not hacked enforced. It has long been my presumption the rating was in response to my weeding out this particular type of fraud in the marketplace as a form of retaliation.

Quote
I feel like you are failing to grasp what I am doing at a fundamental level
Are you Suchmoon?

No.

Why would you think we are the same person?
Well let’s be clear that you are not doing this and this isn’t any of your research.

I like to read the forum from my phone, and will sometimes post from my phone. When I post, I will often accept predictive text that my phone suggests.

There is an interesting twist to this that was not publicly known at the time thread was started. You'll notice that in a couple of threads on this topic one of the most active defenders of PN7/QS is figmentofmyass, who was already being suspected to have a nice little sockpuppet farm of his own... eventually exposed by nutildah via CM campaign payouts and other blockchain evidence. Why is that significant? nutildah suspected these alts based on language patterns (like the ones this thread is based on) and I was 100% sure that figmentofmyass/squatter/extasie were alts when I ran CM campaign user list through the same NLP methods that I used on Quicksy's alts. Methods originally used by tspacepilot to expose quicksy's alts back in the day.

There was another pair of alts in the CM campaign but given the community's attitude towards language analysis and lack of blockchain evidence it was never posted publicly (at least not that I recall).

I think there is a great deal of irony here given the current anxiety over AI, but that's a whole other story.
279  Other / Politics & Society / Re: World Bank halts new loans over anti-LGBTQ law. Right decision or hypocrisy? on: August 12, 2023, 10:37:55 PM
If these countries are really independent? Then why must other nations dictate on what they should do with their cultures and traditions?

And why are these so-called Third World countries still relying on Loans?

Well, that kinda answer that, doesn't it? If they were really independent they wouldn't have to care about loans or banks telling them what to do. And quite a few of those countries have enough resources to get to that point but instead of focusing on rooting out corruption etc are passing laws repressing their own citizens. Difficult to feel sorry for that kind of shit.
280  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: August 12, 2023, 10:31:17 PM
Cool justification for not engaging in adult conversations but just making this forum an endless stream of twitter copypasta/shitposting from both sides.

LOL, another staple of Soviet/Putin propaganda - projection. All you got is Kremlin copypasta. Everything Putin does is great. Ukraine - terrorists. And you're the adult because you said so.

The sad part is that people like you probably won't ever admit they've been wrong, like most of Eastern Europe had to in late 1980s. Back then the truth was kind of unavoidable once it started pouring through the cracks in the iron curtain. These days you can just google something and pretend it supports your bubble and even find someone like BADecker to agree with you.

But hey, if it makes you happy, who am I to argue with that.
