Did you see this startjoin project for physical maxcoin on silver bullion? UNO was made for this. I'd love to own some of these denominated in Unobtanium. https://www.startjoin.com/maxcoinsilverGood low risk way to do this, letting people pre-buy. Wonder if bigtimespaghetti is still working on this?

Since KGW was implemented at block 450k, nearly 1 ton less Uno was generated and sold on the markets. Yes, the forking has been painful. Despite efforts to reach as many people as we could, we were unable to reach everyone with the message to upgrade to 0.9.5. Lots of reasons for that... some pools we didn't know about, some were sent messages but didn't get them, web forms were broken, emails bounced, support chatrooms were unmanned... etc. I even hired a clown to deliver the message, but still... not everyone got it in time. I regret that, because we didn't want anyone to have problems. But many people did get the message, and 0.9.5 firmly powers the network now. I wanted to test the network today, so I removed all maxconnections and addnodes limitations. I'm taking connections from anyone, on any wallet. The majority of my peers are solidly 0.9.5 but probably 20-25% are still old wallets. You can check this yourself by going to your UNO Wallet Console and typing "getpeerinfo". That will return a list of everyone you're connected to. You can also see the version of the wallet they are running and their "height," or the block that they are on. Here's a shot of my getpeerinfo against Cryptexplorer's Uno block explorer. Old clients on the network have galloped off into the sunset. This poor guy is already out to block 470357. Do the math, and you'll see that since the return to 3 minute blocks, there is nearly 1 ton less of UNO on the market: 941.005 less Un, to be precise. Some of these old wallets may never update. I've even tried visiting some of these IP addresses directly. I've discovered a ghosttown of old abandoned mining pools, even an abandoned crypto exchange in Germany, still running their old UNO wallets. Coinex probably is still running one. An upcoming wallet update will automatically drop connections from these old non-Kgw wallets, squeezing them out entirely, according to BW. Blazr's already coded it and an update service to alert wallet users. I hope everything is as stable for you now as it is for me. If your 0.9.5 wallet seems to have trouble syncing, try closing it and then re-open. That will usually correct the issue without re-downloading the entire blockchain. If you wonder which block your wallet is on, go to UNO's Console>Information and you can find it there. Check against Cyptexplorer for agreement if you think you should, but for those of us on 0.9.5, there shouldn't be many problems going forward. Thanks for hanging in there. As a result of KGW and returning to 3 minute blocks, UNO is stronger, and even more rare. We can use these old wallets as a barometer to see how much less height the blockchain has, and how much less Un is available today than would be if the rapid blocks had continued. The Coinex dumping is over, and already less uno on the market, making me optimistic that Uno will soon be headed in the right direction.

Hi CCR, The website for Unobtanium/Uno is now http://unobtanium.unoThe old site, Unobtanium.io is long gone. Thanks!

At least from the regular client perpective everything looks great now. I haven't seen the wrong (longer) chain show up in my client for a while now (block 455301). Syncs up right away and works like a charm.
My cryptsy funds just deposited from the short chain. Mintpal deposit is also showing. Yes, that's also what I'm seeing. I am connected "naked" to the network: Not using any addnodes or maxconnections settings. I have 14 connections, all of them 0.9.5, all showing startingheights that are close to the correct short chain. I hope to hear back from MP and Cryptsy soon with confirmation they are ok, but it looks good from here right now.
|
|
|
Thats an ugly problem then. Not sure how to sort out different exchanges being on different forks.
mintpal also on my chain... I opened tickets with MP and Cryptsy with critical requests to check their Uno blockchains. I sent Uno to cryptsy but have not seen my coins get through yet... sometimes they take awhile to show though. So this one is still unknown. [Edit: My Uno was successfully deposited to Cryptsy from the short blockchain. ] Also sent coins to MP from the short chain and they're showing in the expected "pending" status waiting confirms. Make sure you are running 0.9.5 and on the short chain, http://cryptexplorer.com/chain/Unobtanium is correct.

Unless I am misreading things, It appears that the Unobtanium blockchain is rather badly forked.
If you look at whatmine.com, it says the current block is 467021, I was mining on that blockchain last night and doing quite well, but when I tried to transfer out my shiney new coins, they went nowhere.
My local wallet and other unobtanium sites I have looked at show the most recent block as 454733, a far cry from 467021. My reloaded blockchain agrees with this 454733 number and is receiving a large number of orphan block notifications, which I assume are from those people running on the forked chain. Tho at this point, which chain is the proper one and which is the fork, and how can one chain be pruned off?
Hi. I sent a message to Whatmine.com. Thanks for letting us know. Were you solo or pool mining? If pool, which one? I've reached out to as many pools as I can find; some are notoriously difficult to contact. The exchanges and block explorers in the OP are on the correct chain. Use the addnodes in the OP; they are all 0.9.5. Of course, please be sure you are running 0.9.5 yourself. KGW hit at block 450k and Uno was restored to 3 minute blocks. Some older clients have forked with the older block timing.

Unobtanium is now featured prominently on the front page of http://blocktech.com as one of the coins they steward. Wow, have we come a long way in a short time. Having a committed Dev team in the way of Blocktech's Bryce Weiner, combined with the return of Un's founder Blazr2 puts Unobtanium in the front of the pack for talented Dev support. There are many altcoins out there that would love to have Un's team (go away!). A few months ago, there was no active dev support for Un at all. This community rose up and made some good things happen, clearing the way for Bryce and for Blazr's return. Along the way we debunked the myth that Wolong was lurking. We discovered what happened at Coinex. New explorers and services that make UNO more useful and fun have come online (dice games, sports betting, paper wallets, online wallet, new mining pools, new website, and more). All this happened within just a few months because the community thought it needed to happen. All this makes me very optimistic and excited about the next 3 months.

Hi the wallet seems to be stuck at 38 hours behind (0.9.5)
Does anyone have any ideas?

You can actually still access it using a simple trick. If you're using Windows, simply open up c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file in your notepad and add the following line at the end of the file, save and you're done:
190.93.241.217 coinex.pw
In case the file cannot be saved after modification, you need to open notepad as administrator.
Anybody knows anything about the status? Owners given up or...?
Great, people who know what they're doing can access it. Now new victims won't blunder into the site and deposit funds, as has been happening for months. No more victims of Coinex, please. thanks for posting that IP i just hope that they put all the wallets back online so we can withdraw the remaining balances! It's been over 3 months for me! I'm checking a couple of times a week, without luck CoinEx has taken all of your coins and it is highly unlikely that you will ever get them back. The Uno community identified and tracked the Coinex Uno wallet (all coins were stored in a single large wallet at Coinex). The UNO was transferred from Coinex to a wallet at Cryptsy **after** the alleged "hack" was announced. About 6-7000 Uno was dumped on Cryptsy's market, keeping the price of Uno artificially low. Here is more about what we found. I can only assume other coins on CoinEx experienced the same fate. Sorry but your coins on CoinEx are long gone.

Hi CMC,
During big holidays (like today) and weekends, you keep dropping UNO to the low volume chart. Actually, volume today for UNO across MP and Cryptsy exceeds your .5 btc trade limit, but you don't seem to combine the volume of our most active exchanges. Many days, MP is very often biggest volume exchange.
So that your users are not misled about UNO, I suggest combining volume across our biggest exchanges. Maybe a brief grace period for established coins could smooth out these fluctuations (24 or 48 hours?).
Anyway, Uno is already nearly 1btc today on a big holiday, but remains on your low volume chart.

I'm mining Unobtanium on tompool.org at block 452875 and at the same time at unobtanium.miners-point.com at block 456586. With "very" different difficulty for the same coin. How comes ? Please ELI5, because I'm new Hello, Please read https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=527500.msg7601154#msg7601154 All pools need to upgrade to 0.9.5 or they will be on the wrong fork. I've reached out to every pool I can find, in many different ways. Please help by asking your pool operator if he has upgraded to 0.9.5 PM me if you know of a pool not listed in the OP. I want to keep an an accurate list of known Uno pools.

Cryptsy says you can now transfer your Unobtanium.
It's safe now to eat that 835 UNO sell wall at 0034! Mmmm.

Those tiny micro sell orders on Cryptsy just piss me off. Such clutter, and it obscures the order book.
At this moment on Cryptsy, I can only see the sell book from 0.00312778 to 0.00349278. It's all clogged up with junk orders 1 satoshi apart. Its hard to trade that mess, you can't see what's ahead.
I have a dream that some day we the UNO community will have our own just UNO market. [also because in the future setting up an exchange will be open source copy-pasta easy]
[and we all be uno bizillionaries by then so can kickstart it No Problem] Then we can have these markets: 1 satoshi / uno 1 kilogram uno/btcuno/drk uno/naut uno/veri,bc,doge etc uno/$ Excellent we're keeping the scientific notification, we must not deviate. By the way, just pushed a nice big update for you on Github, including alertkeys, makekeypair, working test and regresssion settings and some general housekeeping. https://github.com/unobtanium-official/Unobtanium/pull/6Working on something a bit more fancy for the wallet in the way of graphical utilites now, but will need a couple days to get it running smoothly, I'm not a Qt master quite yet Thank you, Blazr! Thanks also for the help you gave an exchange earlier this week. We don't always see the work you do behind the scenes. Thanks again for all you and Bryce do for Uno.
