2641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Cryptsy & Coins-e on: July 01, 2014, 11:43:40 PM
Coins-e's UNO market is also down for maintenance several days now, and is off their list of markets.

Cryptsy disabling withdrawals seems to have killed the trade volume, although MP volume is also pretty low today (maybe it's the world cup effect).

I hope we get these two markets back soon.

Those tiny micro sell orders on Cryptsy just piss me off. Such clutter, and it obscures the order book. MintPal doesn't allow that. Too many similar orders at too similar a price and they bark at you.

At this moment on Cryptsy, I can only see the sell book from 0.00312778 to 0.00349278. It's all clogged up with junk orders 1 satoshi apart.  Its hard to trade that mess, you can't see what's ahead.

Reposting, because some people apparently didn't get the message....

Listen to the clown! Update your UNO wallet, then go "fill it up" with UNO. He's being serious!

Here's his earlier video, just in case you can't get enough of him.

2644  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / UNO Pools, upgrade to 0.9.5 now. on: June 30, 2014, 03:09:03 PM
A reminder to pool ops:

If you're running a pool for Unobtanium - UNO, please upgrade to the 0.9.5 wallet immediately. KGW has been implemented as of block 450k. We want you to stay connected and on the correct fork.

You can get the software from the UNO website at http://unobtanium.uno
2645  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Connection problems? on: June 30, 2014, 02:53:53 PM
We've got arbitrage of almost 20% between Mintpal and Cryptsy now. So I guess withdrawals there are still not working? Those cheap UNO look to tempting, but I won't transfer any more BTC to Cryptsy after my recent experiences.

edit: I'm also experiencing these weird wallet issues some are describing. The wallet says it is out of sync, despite having the latest block. The debug console shows a total block count of 455373, while current block is 451507 - strange. Any work from the devs on this?

I'm also experienced the connection issue on one of my wallets.

This is not a big deal really, as inconvenient as it is at the moment. There's nothing wrong with the 0.9.5 wallet software. The older wallets on the network are fighting with the new 0.9.5 wallets. It's a battle the old wallets will lose. Even though 0.9.5 powers most of the network now, you may be one of the unlucky people who has more old wallet peers than new 0.9.5 wallet peers.

I've been in touch with Bryce. He said that in after block 500,000 he'll release a checkpoint and change the protocol version, which will force all wallets to update or lose connection to the network.

Here are some things we can do in the meantime.

First, if you are not running 0.9.5, please upgrade NOW.  Dump that old wallet software and get 0.9.5! You can download it from the opening paragraph in this thread or from unobtanium.uno website. Don't delay any longer.

Second, strengthen the  network by running your 0.9.5 wallet and leaving it on. If you can run an extra 0.9.5 wallet on an additional computer, that would also be helpful by providing more 0.9.5 peers.

Third, try Exiting your UNO wallet, wait a minute, and then restart it.  If you continue to have a sync problem, you can copy the "addnode" details from the opening paragraph and paste them into a file called "unobtanium.conf" in your appdata/unobtanium folder.  All of the addnodes now listed in the OP I have verified as running 0.9.5 clients. Also include the "maxconnections=15"  parameter, which will limit your connections to 15 peers; when used with the new addnodes in the OP, this will ensure that the majority of your peers are 0.9.5.   Later, I'll ask you to remove the maxconnections setting, but just for now... If you do not have sync problems, than skip this step -- you don't need it.

Fourth, if you've considered all of the above but still have problems, download the block chain again. Backup your UNO wallet.dat file first (always a smart first step before you do anything), and close your UNO wallet software. Then in the /AppData/Unobtanium folder, delete only the blocks, chainstate, and database folders. Restart your 0.9.5 software and let it synch up.

Fifth, if you are a miner reach out to your pool operator and make sure that they upgraded to 0.9.5.  I have found it difficult to reach many pool ops, and most of them I have sent messages to have not replied.  It's really important to switch every pool over.

This problem will soon pass. If enough old wallets can find and connect to each other, the old wallets may fork (if they haven't already). We already have the exchanges and important service providers on 0.9.5  and the correct blockchain.

I feel like we've exercised a demon that has been dragging uno down to hell.

We know our coin so much better now. We know how to take the block chain apart, ask questions, find answers.  We now have the tools that anyone can use.  A couple of months ago we had none of this. Look how far uno has come.

If Erundork dumped 7000 uno, what would the price be today if someone came along and bought 7k uno?  All he did was set uno back a few months.

Sure, dumpers gonna dump. And maybe erundork has a few more uno left.  I don't think he can keep this coin down any more if it wants to rise.

Now, I think its time for UNO to start rising for heaven, or the moon... whichever is further away. I predict 004 this coming week, and then... who knows.
2648  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update Now to 0.9.5 wallet on: June 29, 2014, 03:03:26 PM

I don't doubt that as UNO's major market Cryptsy probably has 40k uno in wallets; probably their broken autoconvert tool sold off everything instantly and they caught it and set it right.

if that is true and cryptsy has in fact 40k in their exchange. TAKE THEM OUT YOU MORONS!!!

40.000 Uno is way to much to have in one exchange!
Move them out! Seriously, people.
A deposit from your desktop-wallet to an exchange takes less than 20minutes. The market does not move that fast that you need to store 40k coins at cryptsy.

Sorry for being loud but we have been dumped on much less than that over the past months. If cryptsy gets 'hacked' today we can seriously abandon altcoins in general. 20% to 25% total supply in one place is nothing we want or a risk we can afford to take. When will you people learn? When?!

I am way beyond my technical expertise about exchanges here, but one thing we learned about Coinex is that they put all of their coins into a single wallet. Cryptsy doesn't do that, or we would easily see it on the richlist.  Cryptsy appears to use individual wallets that you can protect with 2FA and email verification. It's a lot easier to "hack" one huge Coinex wallet than thousands of small Cryptsy wallets.

I'm only guessing that Cryptsy might have shown their hand at having about 40k uno last night.  40k out of 190k coins is 21%.... it sounds like a reasonable guess to me as to how much uno Cryptsy may have on their books.  Last January at it's peak, the richlist data says Coinex held about 16% of the total uno in it's single wallet, so 21% for Cryptsy doesn't sound crazy.

(Btw, at the time of the purported March 2014 "hack," the richlist data says the Coinex wallet held about 5% of total uno. It also shows that a lot of coins were withdrawn from the wallet in February 2014, during the huge Wolong pump, which makes sense -- people withdrew to sell to Wolong, probably on Cryptsy).
2649  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / New Richlist and Explorer is syncing now! on: June 29, 2014, 02:20:48 PM

Hi,

Explorer for Unobtanium synchronizing now at http://chainz.cryptoid.info/uno

It's still way behind, and the wallet isn't synchronized yet, so allows many hours for it to catch up!

I think Cryptsy just had a glitch. More likely, it's just some api failure that was quickly corrected and set right in your account. BigVern has been tweeting today about the auto convert tool and cryptsy points market... they had something weird happen and they've fixed it.

I too logged in today, and Cryptsy flashed me a message that said I bought 200 @.0024, but the transaction wasn't in my list.  My order wasn't live, and my bitcoin was added back to my account. A broken api is much more plausible to me than 40k uno laundered.

Out of curiosity, on Cryptexplorer.com I browsed all of the transactions in the blockchain back to 450k, and there's nothing in there that looks suspicious.  There is no 40,000 Uno transaction, or anything even comparable.  You just couldn't hide a thing like that when there's less than 190k coins.  Also no change in the richlist.  There's also no previous evidence that Coinex had anywhere close to 40k coins stolen (6k is more like it).

I don't doubt that as UNO's major market Cryptsy probably has 40k uno in wallets; probably their broken autoconvert tool sold off everything instantly and they caught it and set it right.

Cryptsy is a good exchange, and has served uno well. Lets give them the benefit of the doubt; if Big Vern was going to launder 40k uno, he's plenty smart enough to do it without raising such a fuss, and he'd probably contact me offline to get a MUCH better price than 1 satoshi (I'd go as high as 10! Smiley  )  As it is, nobody lost anything. It all points to a glitch in my book.

Yes, its disappointing because I thought I bought a coin I love at an amazing price, but then, it's already at an amazing price.
2651  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Place sports bets with UNO on Betbycoin.com on: June 28, 2014, 06:13:49 PM
Place your bets!

UNO won the voting at BetByCoin and is already up!   You can now use your UNO to place bets on World Cup futbol/soccer games, and other sporting events!

I'll be betting soon on USA-Belgium!

Just one more fun thing to do with your Uno.  Hoarding it is fun, certainly, but so is winning more UNO! Smiley

Hi timpeff,
The old richlist suddenly came back on its own, and in the process gave rise to all of this detective work. Its still running now at http://coinia.net/unobtanium/getbalance.php?top=100

I'm waiting on the dev for the new richlist/explorer project. Dev told me was going on a holiday, and said first week of July he work on it. I had mentioned that a little earlier. I still hold all the donations for that project.  Will gladly refund anyone who wants their donation back.

hey, FK, can we get the tipping address for unobtanium.uno in the OP?

Added! Thanks for the reminder!

Sorry, I had posted here that I thought I had proof of UNO being dumped on Crypsty, but I need to retract for now until I can investigate further. I found a link from the UlpiP address to a transaction I received from Cryptsy, but after considering it further it may not mean anything. Don't have the time right this minute to work on it further, so... ignore me.

look at http://cryptexplorer.com/address/uffGuBZtoJTP8f4nAQKRSCrxKWECzugXn3

most Un that was in there was sent directly from uLpiP (freshly minted coins, confirmed adress of coinex-exchange).
We can extract all adresses where Un went from uffG. Those must match the adresses of the community.
We already confirmed uffG as a cryptsy-account (i have the confidetial screenshot of a recipient wallet of Un from uffG which was sent to me by a community-member telling me he bought those coins at cryptsy).
The uffG-wallet was too big to have any other conclusion than this is stolen coinex-coins because as far as i know Un could not be withdrawn from coinex in that amounts 2 days after the "hack". Would be really good to get the full history from uLpiP to check that ffs.

The amount of coins in uffG was too big.
You might be right. I just really, really want to be sure. Need a little more time to rummage around. It sure looks like it though.

2656  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / USD Market for UNO? on: June 27, 2014, 04:13:57 PM
How would you like a UNO/USD pair?  Would you trade it?

C-cex contacted me today, and said they are looking over UNO. They like the community, the longevity, the consistency of Uno. They asked if we could do 10btc daily, and I was honest about that. That's a bit of a stretch for a low mintage, often hoarded coin that trades in fits and spurts. But the honesty didn't scare them off.

I don't know what they're going to decide, but if you'd like to see it happen, go to https://C-cex.com and send their support people a note of encouragement.

Also if you're a gambler and want to bet Uno on the world cup round of 16, don't forget to vote today at BetByCoin.com

try to google 16R14EH4v8A9GPXkAAP8gcMFBA8oxA8nbY
there is coming up a lot of sick stuff!  Shocked

too big for me. I am out. I am not the right guy for hunting those people... too big for me, sorry.
There will be others with more time and resources. They can take it from here.

And now we know. Smiley

The question is, what are we going to do?  As individual traders/investors, we will all act on this information however we want. I think its good it's 'out there' now.

I've considered the question carefully and come to this conclusion:  "I don't care."

I'm going to stick to accumulating Un, helping to make some markets (I both buy & sell on 5 exchanges, but I like to see a higher Uno total at the end of each month);   buy it up toward 0045; set some low orders to catch drops. But I'm not gonna sit around worrying that Erundook from CoinEx might try to sell me cheap Uno.

Uno is as much a hobby for me as an investment. I'm in it for the fun, the community, the challenge, the Uno, and -- yes -- I like it when Uno wins!

Bring on the cheap Uno Erundook! I know which way its headed, and you can't stop it for very long.
2660  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update Now to 0.9.5 wallet on: June 26, 2014, 11:33:16 PM
I'm 100% sure one of the 'dumps' you're talking about wasn't a bad guy.  In fact, I can even see a clear pattern on the blockchain where they donated money to support the community, not that that necessarily means much in the scope of this, but it's a contradiction in purported character.

I sure wish I'd get more community feedback on the question I already asked:

Where do you draw the line on what is a 'dump' or not?  How much $USD?  How much BTC?  How much UNO?

I'll repeat:  I don't think selling $1,000 is much.

-

Be careful with the witch-hunt, because you don't know who you might be hurting.

Good point. Only the exchange knows who is selling.  Exchange activity will not map to the block chain.

Now that we've identified the wallets, only a willing Exchange Operator can trace a specific user's account back to Coinex as the source.
