2641  Economy / Speculation / Re: Purchased at $23,500, when should I start to panic? When should I average down? on: September 12, 2022, 07:28:34 PM
I think I made a mistake buying at $23,500 (obviously), so when should I really start to panic now that we dropped to $18K?
This type of question doesn't make any sense to me. At least, logically it doesn't. Just $5k drop from your purchased price and you're already panicking? Come on, you aren't a baby, are you? There's a reason for that investment caveat – Don't invest cash you can't afford to lose or be willing to let go of. On a side note, you should think of those who bought at peak and console yourself with that. At least, I ain't aware that any of them has committed suicide yet now that price isn't great. BTW, if this would be any consolation for you, Bitcoin is heading back to $23k. Current price is $22,333.51 as I type this.
I can't really stress how important this is, it is going to be quite a big deal when you consider crypto is not as easy as you imagine it is for some people and how scared they could become. I know it is normal for us but they are not that normal and that is the problem. I believe that we should give them some slack and teach them how to be a bit more relaxed when it comes to this.

Obviously it is not going to be a simple thing but it is not going to be impossible for them to learn neither, so if they are doing a mistake by not understanding 5k drop is not a big drop, then the smarter decision would be just focusing on how to make them better, not to give up on them.
2642  Economy / Economics / Re: Russia May Have Passed Peak Oil on: September 12, 2022, 07:02:19 PM
Oil is going to go down, it's time for green energy niw
Indeed! We still need oil but we should make sure we don’t waste a lot, for example cruise ships use good oil while near land and on the ocean they use dirty oil to save money.
Things like that should be banned in my opinion.
That is the thing I do not understand about regular people who are against renewable energy, for the time being nothing will change in your life, in fact you will have absolutely nothing changing in your life at all. In fact, it is such a great thing that you could spend a bit of your money to put solar panels on your roof and NEVER have to worry about energy prices again, you will be using your own energy.

But for some reason, people defend the oil giants who ruin the earth by spilling oil into oceans and they call the climate change people crazy, all because political agenda suits them that way, and to demonize the other side, and in return destroy the world for absolutely no reason other than the guy who you do not vote for supports it.
2643  Economy / Economics / Re: Which fiat money are you holding right now in case of emergency needs? on: September 12, 2022, 06:34:19 PM
I guess the answer to this question is different and depends on where people live, for some people they prefer to hold some cash in the case of emergency and they usually hold their local fiat cash for example if I live in Japan I'll hold some Yen and the same for other countries, but in the other hand if you look in the other side of the story, holding USD or Euro can be more reasonable and that's what I do because even if I have to take a trip to another country I can spend money since most of the countries accept these two fiat currencies.
I would guess that the best thing to do right now would be holding fiat for spending, not for emergency and those are different things. If you live in Japan and have Yen that you need to spend everyday, that is your spending and that is not an emergency fund, it would be considered the same thing.

However, if you have Yen in the bank account and put it on savings etc etc for a "rainy day" then it would be different story because you still have Yen in that situation but you are not planning on spending that unless something bad happened. Which is why I highly suggest that you should have pure crypto for all your investments and emergency, but your spending could be whatever fiat you want.
2644  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Bitcoin changed my life on: September 12, 2022, 06:10:01 PM
All my years on crypto i have come to realize that all it takes to succeed is patience. Like the popular sayings that says " Patience is a Virtue" indeed it takes patience to succeed.  Being patient tells who you are and your approach to business. Not everyone can be that patient enough to hold for a very long time irrespective of the up and down in the system. Taking risk is another thing to note. When you have the confidence and trust in someone or something to deliver you don't mind taking the risk as you've done, not everyone would dear take such step when they've have not seen any result yet. You trusted your childhood friend to deliver and it paid at the end. This builds trust amongst peers. This story is worth sharing to encourage more people out there to giving it a try.
That is a very important thing to learn, it allows you to make money without worrying about what is going to happen and that means we are going to end up with a good amount of profit by just having the patience to do it. I am not saying that we shouldn't worry about the situation because in the end it is of course bad to see bitcoin price going down, but anyone who sold recently just because it dropped to under 19k prices saw that it was a small detail and we are back on over 22k thanks to that.

Some of those people will not sell again if it drops, in fact some may even end up buying and that way we are going to end up with a good result for sure. Have patience, and make more money, that is how crypto works.
2645  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: September 12, 2022, 12:51:23 PM
Pakistan's team has only one weakness. They depend on certain players. Especially if Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, and Rizwan are not able to bat well then it will be very difficult for the Pakistan team to win the match.
Rizwan played well in today's match but Babar Azam scored only 5 runs and Fakhar Zaman returned to the dressing room without scoring any runs. If Fakhar and Babar batted well, Pakistan could have won easily even after batting at a target of 170 runs. Pakistan needs to reduce its dependence on these three players. Otherwise, they will not be able to perform well in the next World Cup.
After watching this final match if someone still insisting Pakistan is quality team then surely I have feeling he needs to be rethought about this because they have never been quality team they never play with planning or better strategy mostly they have just few tasks after achieving them they are benched of crap players which are not able to give their best in big matches today their fields were completely crap and bowling were also out of order with Babar Azam's few decisions I was feeling they are playing to give this trophy to Sri Lanka as they were not in game for win.

They dropped many good players at home just for few players those were in with their personal links not with their ability of game which is surely talk able but no one want to talk about this because there is no merit all things are working on relationship or personal likes and dislikes which is the biggest issue in this board many were feeling with the arrival of Ramiz Raja things could be changed but nothing positive happening all in dark age.
2646  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto day trader groups on: September 11, 2022, 09:18:02 PM
I have a question! I am looking for an active messenger or telegram group (other platforms..) of crypto day traders to share information, signals, news...
Do you guys have any suggestions? Smiley
This is a question that is asked frequently in this forum and if you have taken the time to read the responses to those questions you will see that the majority of the members of the forum are not really very enthusiastic about those groups, and it is very easy to see why that is the case, most of those groups do not really proportionate to you any kind of useful information about learning how to trade and instead they give signals, signals that are not really that good either so if I were you I will stay away from those groups so you don't waste your time.
I understand the keen interest towards these because I have been part of a few as well and found out it was bad and left myself but the best educator is actually doing something and realizing why it is bad rather than just hearing about why it is bad from other people.

We can talk about how that is bad as long as we want and in the end we are going to end up with a big loss no matter what, hence it is not going to be acceptable for OP or anyone who wants to try it out to just hear it from us. Just go join one, and see why we disliked it, but at the very least make sure that you do not spend all of your money on what you hear there so you won't have to start from scratch.
2647  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: September 11, 2022, 08:50:21 PM
Afghanistan players were raised and trained in Pakistan and PCB is not a big board like big 3. Why BCCI is not helping Nepal so that level of cricket there is raised and they start playing international cricket. Nepal is very much dependent on India. Anyways dont expect anything good from ICC for associate countries.
I am not agreed with you about this as Afghan players are trained and raised in Pakistan if you have any link then please send me because mostly they play in Sharjah UAE or India where they have a ground for playing test matches as home ground, and they were mostly stayed in these two countries before Taliban era in Afghanistan like the UAE and India just because of this please not spread fake news without any proof.

They play their first test match against India as well, and they have good base in India instead of Pakistan which is well known by all cricketing community I agree about these associates never expect any positive thing from ICC as they are benched of crap peoples which are not interested in development of this game like we have FIFA and few other games which are spreading drastically around the world with strong system and better ideas.
2648  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading and financial planning. on: September 11, 2022, 05:03:40 PM
psychology occupies the largest percentage in determining trading success and the second determinant is financial management, this also has a big role in maintaining asset stability, thus keeping psychology calm. while TA is the third determinant, although trading techniques can be learned in a short time, but it will not necessarily guarantee our trading success without financial management and psychological management. so that all three can influence each other
Influence of psychology part is not that easy, not many people could control their own mental state and that results with them usually losing money. I believe that the best way to make money is to find a good working strategy and then keep doing that without any mistake.

Simplest one I know is buying and holding, you may think it is simple but there are so many people who gets scared and sell when they wanted to hold and they lose money, whereas I get to keep it long term and always end up in profit, no matter what happens. Find the right strategy for you and keep doing that, eventually you are going to end up profiting a good amount without a worry, just do not stray away from it.
2649  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are people doing except holding Bitcoin? on: September 10, 2022, 12:21:33 PM
Apart from holding bitcoin there are also people who are trading in other cryptocurrencies. Day traders are doing their trading on a daily basis and profiting from the market fluctuations that are going on at the moment. Some  People are also investing in gold business after holding Bitcoin. A lot of people are also trending towards real estate where there are always chances to earn good profits. Since the market has been going down for a long time and  There is quite a bit of ups and downs in the space, which is why people who have held bitcoins are now switching to other different businesses. Because there are many profitable businesses outside of the crypto industry. However, even within the crypto industry there are good, quality, solid projects where the investment can earn more returns than Bitcoin, and people are investing there too.
I would guess that staking and even gambling would be addition to this right? I mean crypto is not just there to hold and do nothing, if we are talking about bitcoin then we could invest that bitcoin into something else and earn bitcoin returns just like how you would with bitcoin savings account.

Like for example freebitco.in has 4%+ interest rate, which means that if you invest 100k worth of bitcoin then you will earn 4k+ money from it by the end of the year. That's the important aspect of the situation and I agree that it is going to be quite difficult and tough to overlook such income if you are planning on holding bitcoin for the long term.
2650  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: [Take advantage of crypto volatility] bear or bull market on: September 10, 2022, 11:08:53 AM
in dealing with high volatility, altcoins are indeed more volatile than bitcoin, but in anticipation of a bearish season, I think investing in bitcoin or altcoins at the top will be better, given the high level of investor confidence and high market volume, in that case it seems not easy to be played by a few people, and later when the bull market comes it will be able to enliven the cryptocurrency market
That's mainly because of low volume, low liquidity and also low marketcap as well. Bitcoin has higher in all these categories than all altcoins, most of them combined even. This means that it would be very hard to make it go up all by yourself, but there are coins where you can literally buy 51% of the coin with just a few million dollars or less, entire out of top 1000 section is like that.

This is why when you are investing into small altcoins you should be trusting that everything will be alright and hope that it will get higher, if someone attacks it and buys it all, or even worse sells a bunch of it, then one person could ruin it for most altcoins.
2651  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are candlestick patterns overrated? on: September 10, 2022, 09:11:42 AM
I do wonder if all those traders who called themself at the professional level hit that level thanks to Technical Analysis aka "candlestick patterns overrated" or just by luck and insider's news/connection. From what I understood, people called candlestick patterns overrated mainly because of the amount of hype for it. Some traders thought being good at Technical Analysis is enough to make 10x of their initial capital, not by the luck of investing early or thanks to the bull market time.
I do believe that it is luck+insider info together. I mean even my friend who is not even rich ended up with some insider info once and turned his 160 dollars into over 2k+ dollars, all thanks to knowing what the project was planning on doing next, and that was super easy. Think about being a literal billionaire and having all the people in the world trying to impress you to make more money, they would end up with telling you all the secrets in order to make some profit.

This is why I believe that we should be considering the current situation as a big deal for us, since we could be involved as much as they can in the crypto world, when we couldn't in the wall street world.
2652  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which crypto has the highest potential?? on: September 10, 2022, 08:48:22 AM
Once the problem of high fees is solved, I think nothing can stand in the way of ETH, to be honest, the potential of ETH is huge. ETH growth has slowed due to network scalability issues and high fees, leading to ETH being taken over by other competitors. The upcoming 9/15 update will be the first stepping stone for ETH to fully convert, ETH will continue to receive sharding updates in 2023. When sharding is updated we will see the full power of ETH unleashed, sharding will provide ETH scalability and reduce gas fees. The market will be very interesting when ETH completes the upgrade, I wonder what the L1 blockchains will look like when ETH can solve all their problems.
I agree, ETH is the best altcoin there is already, and there are only a small amount of stuff staying in between of ETH being first and above bitcoin as well. I believe that blockchain is the most important technology we got with bitcoin and not bitcoin itself.

It is no surprise that ETH is using and utilizing the blockchain technology even better than bitcoin does, and that means we are going to see amazing things happen in the future. When eth creates blockchain that is perfect all around and has no problems, no fees, no waiting, easy to create projects etc etc all done perfectly then we are going to end up seeing something much better and maybe even first place.
2653  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I won't be buying Eth until the merge is completed things are running fine on: September 10, 2022, 08:04:22 AM
I doubt this will happened since Vitalik didn’t do roll back before during DAO hack due to smart contract flaw because it will affect all the transaction occured. I think forking the new token is appropriate on this scenario if they want to fixed a major flaw on the smart contract without affecting all the transaction before they figure out all the bugs. Your suggestion is only possible if there will be no transaction done prior the discovery of the bugs.
I believe that they will do everything in their power to make sure that they can keep it rolling no matter what. Also the idea that Vitalik could roll it back is a mistaken one, ethereum is a decentralized project and NOBODY has any control over it, vitalik can't roll it back if he wanted to, we could all "offer" a rollback and if it is accepted then it would be rolled back, but if it is not then it won't be.

The only good advantage that Vitalik has is that he is known as the godfather of eth so if I offer it people may reject it, but if he offered it then people may accept the same thing because of his influence, but it still needs to be accepted by all.
2654  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Cryptocurrencies Change the View of the Game Industry in the Future on: September 09, 2022, 09:45:22 PM
Play2Earn concept is proven not profitable in the long run for both players and developers since there's no sustainability for this kind of gaming reward concept in the long run because players will be more focused on earning rather than spending and enjoying that will kill the essence of gaming industry. Until now there's no decent game being introduced in crypto unlike games that can be played on Xbox and PlayStation since game developer is not interested to venture on long term project with limited source of fund.

I'm not expecting that big time game developers will shift into crypto while they are earning huge amount of money by doing there usual routine that doesn't involve in crypto. I think P2E game is just a hype and nothing more long term will be expected since the success of this game depends on the consistent buying of the tokens in the market by players to be spend in the game. The main problem will arise if no one want to spend anymore.
How could it be? The hype needs to be bigger than the supply and that rarely ever happens. Like for example with Axie Infinity, it went on for months and people made money with it, but the more you breed the more axies you would have and that means eventually it reached to a point where there weren't enough people, and they all had to make a lot less in order to continue, you couldn't pay people the same amount when it is just 10k people playing vs when there are 1 million players, in that case there would be too much SLP on the market and that would drop the value.

Yes, breeding is good but people will want to breed to a point, the more players there are, the breeding didn't increase accordingly.
2655  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Scalping, my best trading strategy on: September 09, 2022, 09:32:25 PM
Scalping is another method in trading to make a profit but it needs to have enough skills to analyze fast what happens to the marker. If you are late analyzing the movements, you will buy or sell at the wrong price and lose the opportunity to make a profit. So, every trader must have their way of making a profit because we have different methods to earn money from trading. If @OP can do more with the scalping trade, that does not mean other people can do the same unless they have the skills to analyze.
The last sentence is the most important one. I agree that it is a great way of trading and making money if you know what you are doing, but if you do not know what you are doing then it is not going to be that much of a great thing.

Best thing about trading is that if you know what you are doing, then you could literally stay at home, in front of your PC, have fun and make a living out of it, the easiest but also most stressful job but definitely something people would prefer over their own job, because going to office is usually horrible, staying at home is amazing. On the other hand if we are talking about a newbie trader, this will definitely be something wrong and would take a long time to master.
2656  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS NOT DEAD! on: September 09, 2022, 07:06:32 PM
The process of Bitcoin mining wastes around 0.6% of the global energy.
The world is not in a energy crisis. There are enough oil, gas and electricity to cover the global demand at an affordable price.
The three main factors causing energy prices to go thru the roof are:
1. The so called "Green deal" in Europe and all those green fanatics, who want to dump nuclear energy and fossil fuels completely, because it will "save the planet".
2.The money printing machines of the Federal Reserve and the other big central banks around the world.
3.The sanctions against Russia (I'm not a fan of Putin).
There's no point of wasting our time with the Anti-Bitcoin and pro-Ethereum FUDsters. They will keep preaching their nonsense.
It is not a "saving the world" in quotes, it is actually saving the world for sure. I mean you could believe that the world is in danger or not, but you could believe that it is cleaner, there is no fact disputing that, renewable energy is cleaner and why wouldn't we want cleaner world?

What would make it so bad if we had a world where we didn't hurt the world we live in? Why is that so bad? I agree that financially it is not possible as of right now, but moving towards that small by small doesn't sound like a bad thing neither.

Plus, the climate change is something we all have been warning about, and yet nobody does anything about it, when there are fires all around the world and oceans rise to a level where cities are gone, will it be okay if you just came here and say "sorry I didn't believe it"? That would be too late and it is not enough, we do not want you to realize your mistake, we want to prevent you from realizing it.
2657  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is everyone ready for Bitcoin's NEXT LEG DOWN ??? Federal Reserve Tightening on: September 09, 2022, 03:08:06 PM
Attempting to shorting Bitcoin at this price is considered risky, as the chances of a return to levels of $11,000 are not considered good. And if it happens, returning again to a level higher than 19k will steal more time, and therefore I do not think that someone will wait, but will start to panic again that the price will drop again.

In general, any attempt to sell at these prices (if you are not forced) is not the right choice.
Shorting is an act of selling and buying at a much cheaper price so it's actually very good if the price dumped to 11k right after we sell at the current price which is 18.7k usd. Once we get to a lower level, the recovery rate is going to be faster because many people are going to buy as well. In the event there is a small delay and someone can't patiently wait then that's their problem anymore not and ours. Better if they will just sell to incur a big loss and then leave this market forever. We don't need weak people here anyway.
We should have done it when it was higher, if you start shorting now when the price is already lower, that will not help you at all, it would hurt your finances more than it helps you. This is why there is no need to keep on making shorting calls at the current price.

I am not saying go buy some long futures, but holding bitcoin right now would be smarter decision, start shorting a bit when it's pumped, usually that means it will start going lower, but doing it now is not the case. I personally hold bitcoin and do not sell it or short it at any situation, I just dislike the idea of bitcoin going down and not bet on it at all.
2658  Economy / Economics / Re: Will crypto jobs make government jobs irrelevant in the near future? on: September 09, 2022, 08:09:18 AM
It is ridiculous if cryptocurrency jobs are taking away a government's jobs. Governmental jobs and workers will be here to stay, there is no magic pixie dust that cryptocurrencies will be able to solve any meatspace problems. Both will co-exist in their own way, and those kinds of sector won't be hostile to compete with each other.

The main thing is, there is a significant difference between both sectors, so both will be distinguishable. As already been said, the direct threat would be the central bank, but still, I doubt it will lose its importance.
I agree, governmental jobs are a requirement for a government to continue existing. What crypto does is making sure that business' do not pay very low salary to people. I remember back in the day when I was doing my current job in the crypto field, but it was very early days and I was still looking for a 9-5 office job those days, and the offers were usually half of what I make here, and that's why I rejected them all, and even laughed at the face of few of them for their offer.

At the end of the day, I managed to make sure that this job is the best job I will ever have, and ever since that day, I have been so so so happy everyday that I have my job.
2659  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 4 Bitcoin Traders Arrested Due To Illegal Trading on: September 09, 2022, 07:22:06 AM
Please update the title of the thread OP, it should be 4 Bitcoin traders arrested due to money laundering.
Seriously these types of threads really leaves bad impression on newbies.
Nevertheless those who do crimes they should be punished.
The title is fine because money laundering is still an illegal activity. They trade dirty money for a clean one only to get away with their crimes but luckily they are still caught. I don't think a thread/news like this will give btc a negative impression as long as the reader will understand what they are reading properly. It is clearly said arrested for illegal trade and not arrested for doing a normal/legal trade but even if the 4 guys didn't do money laundering, what they did is still wrong because it's already declared that btc on their country is banned but they didn't obey the rules.

The bitter truth is that the criminals are using Bitcoins for these ill deeds.
They use btc because it's online and it's also kinda anonymous so they think they won't get traced by the authorities.
2660  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Terra Luna Classic pumping - can it last? on: September 09, 2022, 06:25:25 AM
Perhaps, you've got it right. You've got in perfect timing as Terra Luna is in moving up but to think about how long this surge will go, is something we don't know and you'd better take the opportunity to sell them rather than wait for x100 as your goal. Because it was not identical to the situation and it was not what we really see in this bear situation. Be aware of how the hype will end, it was just like a trap that causes major losses to those who wanted more.
I would agree that if you are in profit then you should take out your profit and invest into something else. I never trusted this ever since it was created, they somehow managed to get the trust of some people somehow, but it is obvious that if they have waited years before such a horrible mistake happened, they could do the same and you would never know when it will happen and how it will happen again even if it will ever happen again.

This is why the best thing to do right now would be getting out, invest into something much more safe, this way you would be able to make a profit from another thing without the fear of losing all of your money all over again.
