1721  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Starting now. on: March 21, 2023, 03:34:33 PM
however if you are willing to put the effort a regular wallet can be made to be incredibly secure, if you take the right steps.
Sometimes it is not what you use, but how you use what you have it that matters. Even people who can afford to have a hardware wallet are not still safe should they decide to become careless thinking that buying a hardware wallet is the final security one can have for their cryptocurrency. A person who uses an electrum wallet can be safer than someone using a hardware wallet. For security, consider developing a consciousness for security first before consideration of a wallet to complement it.
That's true, it is a big mistake to thing that you are safe no matter what you do, you should always be careful no matter how safe you think you are. I have seen plenty of people who got their ledger wallets emptied as well, not because of any mistake ledger made as a company, not because it was hacked into it or anything, but because they were stupid users and that will always be an issue.

If you use it like you should be using it then it would work and it would be a good thing but if you use it unlike how you should then it would be a trouble for you. This is even more true if you do not have a hardware wallet and store it somewhere that is not entirely safe.
1722  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can old trading strategies work again? on: March 21, 2023, 08:50:26 AM
has any old trading strategy that you decided to apply work for you? Is it possible that old strategies may work in the future again?
Believe or not, I am following the same set of strategies for more than 6 years for crypto trading and fortunately I am into profit side till date. Probably the traders who are making use of only one strategy might keep changing their strategy more frequently but I am doing technical analysis with 4+ strategies and I take positions only when at least 3 of my strategies say same thing. This helps me to filter out short term trends. I always prefer riding on trends which might be the another reason why the same set of strategies are always working for me for longer duration.

In my opinion, a strategy may turn inefficient when market gets more volatility. To handle this, we might either need to stay away from trading or need to fine-tune the strategy by adjusting the parameters. I mean switching over to new strategy does not sound good or as a working approach (in long term perspective) to me.
1723  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: EU Lawmaker Johan Van Overtveldt Compares Crypto To Drugs, Calls For Ban on: March 19, 2023, 07:20:23 AM
Former Belgian Finance Minister and Member of the European Parliament (EP), Johan Van Overtveldt, has called for a ban on cryptocurrencies to ease the current banking crisis. In a tweet on his personal account, Van Overtveldt stated that the crypto asset industry “does not bring any economic or social value.” CoinDesk reported that his comments were made as the EP prepares to vote on regulations regarding crypto activities.
Lol, these people have absolutely no idea how any of this work do they? I mean it is really funny to me that they would be considering to ban bitcoin at a time when many people are avoiding banks and going into bitcoin because they trust bitcoin more than they trust these banks.

I get that they want people to go back to banking, because that way there would be a lot of money in the banks and they wouldn't crash, that is what they believe in and that is why banning bitcoin makes sense for them. But the reality is that we are not going to see that happen because you can't ban bitcoin, you can ban the use of it, but you can't ban it because we will just use p2p and still continue.
1724  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is a treasure. on: March 19, 2023, 06:23:22 AM
Good Day medium, there is something I will want us to be aware of since bitcoin is a life-changing investment some people are taking it as property, I say this because I overhear someone making a call and saying he has 2BTC and that's is his property.
Now that bitcoin is more valuable in most countries, that shouldn't be a property it should be an investment, those who see bitcoin as property should learn more or read more about bitcoin and how it works.
To me, bitcoin is an investment and also a treasure, I don't know if am wrong or right.
But if someone may ask you, what do you call BITCOIN?
You have it wrong OP, it is not an investment. Satoshi Nakamoto developed it to be a payment option... not an investment option. Go read the White Paper on Bitcoin and see what Satoshi calls it.

Like "cash" or fiat currencies... people can trade with it (Forex markets) but it is primarily supposed to be a currency. Anything you own.. can be your property... so it does not have to be a house or a piece of land.  Tongue
I would say "asset" is the best word. Dollar could be an asset, stocks could be assets, gold, oil, wheat, house, building, car, anything could be an asset as long as you are investing into it and have a reason for putting in money and how you plan to make a profit from it. At the same time, I believe that you shouldn't really invest into cars of course, not a viable option in many nations but at the end of the day crypto is an asset just like all the others.

It means that you could invest, and use it if you want to, but if you plan on buying and making a profit from it then you are doing the right thing and you should be profiting from it as well.
1725  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why The Majority Of the Population Will Embrace CBDC's on: March 18, 2023, 05:15:30 PM
I think about the legitimacy of cryptocurrencies, there are several reasons why the majority of the population might use a central bank digital currency (CBDC) in the future.

While there may be some skepticism of cryptocurrencies, there are reasons why the majority of the population will use CBDCs in the future. With potential benefits such as stability, financial inclusion, efficiency, privacy and security, CBDCs can represent a significant advance in the world of finance.

This is seen as reasonable because CBDCs are backed by a central authority, such as a government or central bank, which can provide a level of stability and security that may be lacking in cryptocurrencies. This can give people greater confidence in using CBDCs for day-to-day transactions.
I believe that using CBDC instead of using stablecoins could make sense but considering it is still tied to fiat and I got here into crypto to avoid fiat, that means that we shouldn't really be too hyped about it as crypto people. It's basically stabelcoin made by the government and that's about it, nothing more and you think I should be some sort of happy about it? Of course not and I think that it is something I will never buy or invest into.

However, that doesn't mean that it won't convince more people to join into the crypto world, having some government guarantee will definitely make some people consider getting into this market, which is why it's nice for us.
1726  Economy / Speculation / Re: 26k mark finally breached on: March 18, 2023, 04:46:31 PM
We left $26k and headed higher, prices are continuing to rise and it looks like the record hike that occurred in january can be passed in march now, this week the price has risen more than 35% and makes us optimistic that this year will reach $100k , I'm sure many investors are panic buying so that makes the price continue to rise, but I suggest to continue buying and see at the end of the year.
Panic buying is a bit of a trouble though. That results with people buying when it is high, when in fact they should be buying when it was low. However, if we all buy when it is low, then how could it go up? In order for the price to be 30k+ we need people to buy at these prices as well, I am just against the "panic" part of it, let it settle for a bit before you judge the situation, maybe it will go down 30% in the next week?

How can we be sure about it, do not panic buy at this moment to make sure. That's why it is such an important thing to have some sort of understanding what we will be doing in the upcoming period to see if we were right or not, be calm about it.
1727  Economy / Speculation / Re: Get ready for the rising and pumping hours. on: March 18, 2023, 02:55:45 PM
March is indeed a joy because this week it has risen more than 35%, I believe the prediction that the price will continue to rise when it hits $ 25k has indeed been proven, many investors are waiting for positive sentiment like this, the daily volume of transactions that continues to increase is certainly an indication of market strength difficult to fight or control.
These type of increases definitely benefits us the most, I know there are plenty of people who are expecting even more and that is why there could be some hype and some expectations and if they are not met I am sure there will be sad people even after such a big increase, or some people who did not buy when they should but ended up with buying at 25k+ and not before, so they want to see it grow even more.

But at the end of the day, people like me know that we are happy with what we have and that's more than enough, we do not need anything further. The current situation is more than enough and should be happy even without any further increase in the price.
1728  Economy / Speculation / Re: what now ? on: March 17, 2023, 11:52:19 PM
Don't look for low price, but try to buy on dip. You might consider 5% dip to buy and sell when the market recovers. It's a good strategy, but if you're looking to invest long-term then dip should help you earn more bitcoin. The buy on dip and hold strategy is best for expecting worth it returns in the long term, which is what long term investors or holders usually do.

What now - take profit in case some of you have already bought on the dip. But it's better to hold longer and sell higher.
I think the dip was already here and people missed it, I would highly suggest not to miss those type of dips. We were at 16k for a while, and right now we are at 26k, that is literally over 60% return and this is just this year, YTD return, think about what we could do further into the year. I am not saying do not buy here, if you want to you could buy here as well but those people who bought at 16k had to wait so much, if you buy at 26k thinking you could profit right away and if you do that is great but if you don2t then you should realize that you didn't deserve it yet.

We, as people who bought under 20k, waited for months and months before we could see a profit, we had to watch our profits erode and had to be patient, so if you really want to profit, give it some time after you bought it.
1729  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the signs of the next bull market for cryptocurrencies ? on: March 17, 2023, 11:33:09 PM
We have seen high contrast of market situations in real business world and the crypto space recently: Banks like SVB went bankrupt and caused a lot of fear and anxiety in the market; after a price drop within a short period, Bitcoin has gone up excessively to a high price which seems to be stable for a while; ETH and other big name altcoins have also enjoyed a price surge. More people are predicting that the next bull market is around the corner.  Is this true ? Or are you ready for the next bull market ? I am with FireDAO team, in charge of the global community. Please let me know if you are interested in our new project.
That's how it should be! We have had multiple discussions in the forum about decoupling traditional markets from the crypto market. And I am happy to see the current trend. When the traditional market goes down, the crypto should serve as a exit point for the traditional investors. I believe that's exactly what is happening and for good.

I am not too much bullish for a bull run of cryptocurrency now. What price surges we are are seeing should stabilize shortly. I believe that's always better than a unrealistic bull run and a collapse afterwards.
I would guess that the reason why the traditional markets go up or down matters to crypto as well. When it was a global pandemic and printing of a lot of money that was a good thing for stock owners and the bitcoin owners because fiat going down in value means these assets would go up in value.

However when it is a stock market crash, like what is happening right now to the banks, that means crypto would go up since it's not having a crash like stocks. This is why it's quite important to remember that you should be having a bit of a good result in the end and have some sort of big profit depending on why the traditional markets move, not which direction but why.
1730  Economy / Economics / Re: If they have the solution, why are banks still failing? on: March 17, 2023, 04:44:36 PM
Currently the Bank has faced challenges and failures in recent years including increased competition from fintech startups, low interest rates, and regulatory pressures. These factors have depressed the bank's profitability, leading to several failures and mergers. Despite this, it is acknowledged or not that banks still play an important role in the global financial system, providing essential services such as lending, payments, and risk management. While cryptocurrencies offer new possibilities for innovation and decentralization of finance, they also come with their own set of risks and challenges.

I think Not all banks fail why is that nowadays banks have adapted and thrived in the changing financial landscape in order to provide valuable services to their customers. For example, some banks have invested in fintech startups and developed their own digital solutions to compete with technology new.
Plus, the long term treasury bonds that they were holding which gave very little return whereas because of the FED rate spike they were forced to give so much back to people who had accounts there. Think about it this way, when you are the second biggest bank in the nation, that means tens of billions of dollars, which means that 2% to 5% difference would be as much as billions as well, which bank could survive something like that?

They weren't capable of predicting how the nation will go, and because of the interest rate increases and them not being ready for something like that, they ended up earning less and spending more for peoples money to be in their accounts.
1731  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is Bitcoin always affected on: March 17, 2023, 03:26:52 PM
The answer is on the surface: bitcoin has no real value, it is a purely speculative asset, and almost anything can influence its value. And influence both in the direction of growth and decline. And we do not take into account the influence of real market manipulators Smiley This is an ordinary market effect - if an asset has no real security, a cost price close to zero, wild volatility ... Therefore, for now, its purpose is sometimes to play the role of a high-risk investment instrument, but storing your assets in it is stupidity. At least devirsification, into fiat, gold, ... and some part in cryptocurrencies
I would guess that there isn't really that much of a "value" in other things that you named neither, by logic we put  value behind them and that's the issue .Gold has a value? What kind of value does gold really have, how much of it is used for something important and needed?

Sure it is "used" in some stuff outside of jewellery but so rarely, which means that traders are the ones that decide it. Hell most stocks are like that as well, we could all sell our stocks and it would crash and most likely even bankrupt the company if we did that, which is an issue. On the other hand, we are talking about a situation where bitcoin is not really different from any of them.
1732  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: March 17, 2023, 01:09:51 AM
It is true that Bangladesh won only two out of five games in the last T20 World Cup. Bangladesh won the match between Bangladesh and Netherlands by 9 runs, Bangladesh won the match between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe by three runs. Without these two matches, Bangladesh had no victory in the World Cup. But that Bangladesh will whitewash the champion England team in T20 World Cup is undoubtedly a wonderful thing. However, Bangladesh has improved a lot in the T20 format compared to before. However, Bangladesh's performance in Tests and ODIs has not improved much.
Sometimes overconfident gives you heavy shocks or you can say you can't take anything lightly these days and specially in t20 format in which you have to be well prepared and efficient in your game .
Anyways Bangladesh played outstanding plus they had home ground card with them so both things should be kept in mind .
England is the only team which won back to back two ODI series in Bangladesh so just because of this they were feeling they can put them on their way in this format as well but after losing first T20i they were shocked, and then they were going for the win of series but this all gone in wrong way for them, and they have gone down and out of this series by whitewash which is surely matter of shame for them because Bangladesh is currently one of the worst teams in test playing countries but after winning this series they can feel proud.

England was playing here with their full squad which is also another big advantage for them but Bangla tigers after losing ODI series not give up and have one of the best win for their recent time specially with the score of 3 - 0.
1733  Economy / Economics / Re: Poor and Rich on: March 16, 2023, 10:02:39 AM
Rich people already have wealth the day they are born because their parents did and they can pass it on to their children.
Likewise, the poor pass their poverty on to their children but that does not apply if their children want to try to change and work hard to get rich.
Meanwhile, if the children of the rich cannot manage their wealth, they will lose their wealth and cannot get it back.
Everyone has the right to get what they want but they have to try hard to achieve it and not everyone can get what they want.
effort will not betray results, especially in today's era where there are many ways to get rich. a rich person will of course be in a rich person's environment, therefore his wealth is always changing, until in the end it is in the hands of his children, if he cannot place himself and think like his parents, then there are many stories where afterwards they become poor again. while poor people, it will be more difficult for them to change their perspective, because they are in a bad environment, so that in the end they have to fight harder to change their mindset so they can be more advanced to become rich people
I would guess that number one reason why poor people stay poor is that they are not capable of living a decent life with the money they have. Rich people could get richer because they have excess wealth, even if you spend a million dollars to live, that means you still have tens of millions of dollars left to invest, whereas most of us live with less than 10-15 thousand dollars a year, that is most of the world, 80% of the world lives for less than 15k dollars a year.

This means that we do not have excess money, even if you end up saving like 2k a year, you know how much % return you need to get in order to become rich like them? Only way to get rich is to figure out a bigger income, otherwise saving won't solve anything.
1734  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there anything like Bitcoin savings? on: March 16, 2023, 09:20:20 AM
Investing has a risk of loss. this is a lot of people choose because investing can also provide profit, moreover investing in bitcoin, of course, can provide profit above the inflation that is happening, but indeed we have to know the right time. this is different from saving, where we intend to collect money little by little for an emergency fund if something happens. I think at least we have savings up to 6 times of our total needs every month, and after that we can invest, so that we stay financially healthy
That's true, finding the right time is the most important part of this because if you buy at 2021 and sell at 2023 then you lose, but if you buy at 2020 and sell at 2021 then you make a profit. This is why it is important to buy at the right time, people who bought at 16k just like a few months ago, could be making a ton of profit right now, more profit than any other investment during the same period.

This is why it is crucial to pick the right time, bitcoin will make you rich but if you start at the top then it will take a while for you to get rich. I know plenty of people who bought at 60k+ because of the hype, and that will not make you rich anytime soon at all.
1735  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: March 16, 2023, 07:01:02 AM
After 4 consecutive loss UAE finally mange to win an ODI againest PNG. The last match will be important for both teams as winner will go one rank up in the table. For UAE funding might not be biggest concern since there country is one of richest in the world but for Nepal the ICC funding is very important for futher development of cricket in the country.
The match is important for Nepal. If they win, they will finish as 3rd in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2. They will retain their ODI status (although it is mostly nominal) and they will participate in the 2023 Cricket World Cup Qualifier. In case of UAE, irrespective of whether they win or lose today's match, they are likely to remain at the 6th position in points table. They will be participating in the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-off. And I agree with you. Funding from the ICC is not important for teams such as UAE and Oman. In fact, the Oman representative in the ICC is a strong supporter of the pig-4 system.
Nepal done amazing stuff in last 11 matches as now they have won 10 out of 11 which is surely one of the best from them for having current fourth spot and now if they won against the UAE in last match then third spot is available for them which could be amazing stuff because things are changing for them in long run after long bad period hopefully in coming years they could be improving their quality and able to have better results which will help them for having better help form ICC as well.

Right now, few teams are surely doing good with their limited resources like Nepal and PNG which are completely having native players even their financial situation is not good, but results are changing things for them and their hard work.
1736  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: March 16, 2023, 05:34:04 AM
The second test match between New Zealand and Sri Lanka will start tomorrow, and this is going to be the final match of the 2021–2023 ICC World Test Championship. Both of these teams have failed to qualify for the WTC finals. The final will be played between India and Australia at the Oval on 7th June 2023. BTW, it is strange that none of the Indian batsmen feature among the top-5 run scorers in the WTC. The top run scorer is Joe Root, followed by Usman Khawaja and Babar Azam. Marnus Labuschagne and Jonny Bairstow are at 4th and 5th positions respectively.
There is no doubt this ICC World Test Championship is not good for the Indian batting side but good thing now they are second time into final of this event which is going to play second time in England as last time they lost against New Zealand now they are going to face Australia at The Oval but here another interesting thing happening while they are going to face Australia they have bowler at third spot with Ashwin is having 61 wickets which is also good for them as he is still consistent performer in this team with his bowling and many times help them with his batting as well.

Usman Khawaja having good tours of Subcontinent which helps him for having second spot in batting list, but England is surely best team in this competition even they fail to qualify for the final second time.
1737  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Bitcoin will lead the world currency market?? on: March 15, 2023, 08:54:15 PM
US dollar is the world accepted currency and can be used as a medium of exchange.  In the crypto world, Bitcoin is the most popular and the highest accepted currency with greater value. Different countries have permitted bitcoin for transaction and many of them are thinking so and will eventually do so. Its acceptance is gradually increasing day by day. Do you think bitcoin will be the leader of the world’s currency market like US dollar in the future?Huh
It is necessary to accept the fact that states will not use bitcoin and other decentralized cryptocurrencies as a means of payment at the international level. There are many reasons for this, and above all, because of its high price volatility.
But citizens of different countries can and do use bitcoin as a global currency. The states can no longer interfere with this.
I would guess that states do not have to, but we also have to realize which nations? I mean central Africa made it a legal tender if I am not wrong, so did El Salvador, so if those two governments ever paid each other for something then they could use bitcoin for the transaction. Obviously it would be very tough for those two nations to have anything in common enough to make a transaction, what are they going to buy from each other, but at the end of the day it's a possibility.

Right now, not many nations made it a legal tender, but if that type of movement grows then we could see nations do send each other bitcoin for payments and that would be a lovely thing.
1738  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin my entry or no deal on: March 15, 2023, 07:15:49 PM
Our emotions are the reason why we are chasing it. We should keep in mind that we just have to wait for the right time for us. If we are not in control of our emotions it is possible to make wrong decisions. For example, when investing in Bitcoin, we know that the price of Bitcoin will increase at this price but because we saw that it also decreased, so what he did was sell Bitcoin. Instead of making a profit, he should have made a profit because after he sold the Bitcoin, that's when it went up.
I think that type of chasing is the reason for most people to lose money as well. Two things cause people to lose money in the crypto world, one is getting in the flow of the hype and buying bitcoin when it is high, obviously when price goes up 3x then there will be a lot of people sharing their immense profits and news all over the world will talk about how bitcoin went up.

So, there will be plenty of people who will come in and try to make the same profit but the price won't continue to go up like it did at that point, they are buying at the top. That's the biggest mistake and people should avoid it and buy when it's low. Second is losing and then trying to recover that by putting even more in and losing even more.
1739  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do we manage our crypto trading strategy on: March 15, 2023, 06:29:39 PM
Hi guys
Nowadays there are so many crypto trading strategies in practice but the true challenge here is how to continue trading with out being obsolete as we know efficiency brings profit
As long as you know how to read a trading chart, graph, it is impossible not to get profit from such activities. Then, you can get a different strategy from what other traders give tips.

As long as you make sure that the coins you buy will not give you problems in the end, don't give coins that you can get stuck in the end because in the end you might sell at a loss, you know what that means.
I would say that "in the long run" is a must add for that. I agree that if you know all of that and if you are a good trader basically then you will make a profit with time, but that doesn't mean that every single trade will be a profit neither, sometimes you will make some losses.

I think it is important to realize 5 up 1 down 3 up 2 down type of thing is the nature of trading, that doesn't even have to be bitcoin trading, it is true for stocks, gold, forex and whatever else you can think of. This is why it is important to ignore the losses, learn from them but ignore them in the end and try to make a profit on the long run so you would be getting richer over time.
1740  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's your opinion on the future of Decentralised exchanges on: March 15, 2023, 05:18:34 PM
I think, the future of Decentralized exchange looks promising as it offers several advantages over centralized exchanges. However, there are still some challenges that need to be overcome to make it more accessible and secure. As technology is constantly evolving, it is important to keep an eye on new developments and innovations in this space.
I think marketing is the most important one. Even though we say that it is decentralized, there is this small profit that goes towards the team that built it, and that profit should be used to market it a lot better.

You think things like pancakeswap, which is the biggest decentralized exchange in the BNB world, has no profits? They take a cut from every single trade made there, they can't intervene, they do not have any control, that is why it's decentralized, but they still do get a cut which is their profit, which was in billions last I checked. If they start spending that money, spend even just 100 million, which they can afford to, they could do marketing beyond anyone's measure, it would be all over the world.
