2681  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin - Is HODL the only strategy? on: December 07, 2021, 09:16:48 AM
I own different crypto and mostly I stake with them because I am interested in the long return. With bitcoin I am actually doing nothing. Can you suggest any strategies to make even a little APR? I know that I can't stake with bitcoin.

To make a constant return on your bitcoins you would need to sell them and buy them back later at a cheaper price. With the high volatility we see at the moment in the crypto market there are definitely opportunities to make some returns. The problem is that every time we trade we have to pay transaction fees and have the risk to miss out on the next rally. It all comes down to how much time and money you have to spare. I would recommend you to leave 80% of your bitcoins with the HODL strategy, and only use a small fraction of your coins to actively trade them.
2682  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Biggest winning so far on: December 07, 2021, 09:05:55 AM
My biggest win so far in a single game was in poker when I won 280 USD in a sit n go game. I usually only player lower stake games but had some free tournament buyins I could use. Usually wins like that don't happen very often, and if they do happen it's a huge boost to our bankroll. After that win I never needed to deposit new money. My biggest win in relation to the buyin was a scratch lottery ticket where I won 65 USD on a 1 USD ticket.
2683  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why exactly is it that people don't like identifying yourselves (KYC)? on: December 06, 2021, 12:24:24 PM
I get that it goes against the fundamentals of crypto currency, but exactly for what reasons though? Assuming you're not using it for anything illegal (if you are then it's understandable), why the concern? I'm asking specifically when trading.

For me the big risk is identify theft. We are sharing so much personal information via Facebook and Instagram that it becomes very dangerous in today's world. If someone has a copy of our passport he could do a lot of harm. There is the risk that our personal information is being misused for some illegal activity which could harm us in the end. Our credit score could be negatively affected like that. And the even bigger risk is that people want to steal from us. From social media criminals easily know when we are on vacation and with all our personal information they know where we live and can break in. Maybe I am too paranoid.
2684  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: This December is a weird one on: December 06, 2021, 11:58:14 AM
Is this December actually playing out like the past December? Cos right now it looks like this December is a black one lol 😂 things are going side ways and all those crypto chillers on YouTube aren't even catching the trend of what's going on, so what's your own opinions?

This month is really wierd. A few weeks ago I thought we would see a small end of year rally just before Christmas. Politicians kept saying that the covid pandemic is not so bad anymore, many people are vaccinated and we don't need another lockdown. So economy wise this year looked better than last year. But now with the new covid mutation I am not sure anymore. It sounds like another doomsday scenario and maybe we are exactly where we were last year.
2685  Economy / Economics / Re: No where is actually safe on: December 06, 2021, 11:52:23 AM
I fully agree with you that crypto currencies are not 100% save, there is always some risk involved. But so are all the potential investments. If some offers you a 100% save stock deal than he is lying. We can't predict the future with absolute certainty. Even the savest money at the bank can be lost if the bank goes bankrupt. We have seen it in the past with Lehman brothers. The same goes for government debt. It may look very save on paper, but even countries can go bankrupt. With crypto currencies we get at least rewarded for our risks.
2686  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you guys think 0.1BTC is enough to "make it"? on: December 06, 2021, 09:36:18 AM
Considering the supply vs global population = 0.003BTC per person to go around.

Then other factors like not all 21 million will be in circulation due to lost wallets/deceased hodlers who never informed anyone where their seed is, and also an increasing global population and future generations who all want in.

Do you think 0.1BTC will be like owning a mansion?

Though question because bitcoin would need to rise a lot to reach that levels. Let's say a mansion costs 5 million, that means the price for 1 BTC would be 50 million USD. That's a lot compared to the 50,000 we are at right now. Maybe in a few lifetimes this could happen, but not any time soon. First of all we need to reach the 100,000 which would make it possible to buy a cheap home for 1 BTC. Long term it still remains to be seen if all countries are going to accept bitcoins. If the ban on cryptos is going to be lifted than it could eventually happen. There is no upper limit for the price of Bitcoins.
2687  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I won $550,000 gambling on sports this month on: December 06, 2021, 09:31:36 AM
Congratulations mate, making more than 10% with sports betting in a single months is definitely a big accomplishment. I hope you are celebrating accordingly. With such a profit 2 weeks Bahamas sounds like a good reward  Cheesy but honestly you must have bet for a while now to be able to stake such large amounts. May I asked with how much money you initially started? Having more than 4m USD to bet with means that you already were rich before. I can just dream of such profits. Hopefully you can keep doing such profits every month.
2688  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: El Salvador on: December 05, 2021, 08:14:35 AM

2689  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Never sell for a loss - is a Myth !! on: December 05, 2021, 08:04:23 AM

This is why I think "Never sell for a loss" is a myth and we should always use a stop loss and play safe with a good risk to reward strategy.

I agree with you that never selling at a loss is the wrong advice. If we follow it without thinking we can be stuck in a lot of bad investments. There are two reasons why an investment can drop in price. First, the overall market is tanking and sending every asset down. At this point our investment can still be a good opportunity and selling is a bad idea. The second reason would be that investors lost confidence in the investment. At this point it would be better to sell because we don't know if it will ever recover.
To say never sell with a loss limits our actions to much. As good investors and traders need to think freely, without having past losses in our mind. Also we can get tax benefits from a loss and offset future gains to save money.
2690  Economy / Economics / Re: In 2021 to 2022 you decide your life and wealth on: December 05, 2021, 07:53:40 AM

By the 2024 everybody must have decidede are they super rich or very poor .

What will you choose ?

Of course I would choose to be rich, but I don't think the world will be black and white like that. Most asset classes move in cycles, just like the crypto market. This means that there will always be new opportunities to invest and get rich. You might be right that right now it's a chance to become super rich, but do we really need to be super rich? Imagine that everybody know yours face, you become very famous because you are super rich. You can't live a normal life anymore, as soon as you go outside you might feel scared that people can rob you. And everybody is going to ask you for money. Money is important but I would rather live a happy life if I can afford everything I need.
2691  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What if Bitcoin is overtaken by Ethereum in market cap? on: December 05, 2021, 07:42:55 AM
Never say never, while this might be not realistic today, such a scenario could happen quickly in the future. First of all it would take some prominent investors to push a particular alt coin. ETH might be in a good position right now to eventually break the bitcoin correlation. As long as a drop in bitcoins sends all the other crypto coins down too, it's hard to imagine any coin to surpass bitcoins. But it is just a matter of time for other strong crypto coins to be independent.
If that happens I think we will see a downward spiral for bitcoins. Because many investors just buy bitcoins because it is the largest crypto market. If there is a more successful coin out there I would expect many investors to sell their BTC for that new coin.
2692  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin Poker Rooms on: December 05, 2021, 07:37:24 AM
Hi everyone, I just created a new account here to learn more about bitcoin. I also like to play poker and I'm wondering if there are any good and trustworthy online bitcoin poker room out there? Thank you in advance!  Smiley

Welcome to the forum. It's a great place if you are interested in crypto currencies and gambling. If you are looking for a full crypto poker room I can recommend you SwC Poker. It is not a big casino but there are always players around looking for a poker game. In case you want to play a particular limit table and there is nobody playing right now, you can just sit down at the table and wait for 1-2 people to show up.
Alternatively almost all of the big casinos all you to withdraw money in cryptos. I also play on GG Poker for some time now, they have great deposit bonuses and money can be withdrawn quickly in bitcoins.
2693  Economy / Economics / Re: What do you think does this Cities have that we dont? on: December 03, 2021, 12:25:14 PM
It doesn't surprise me that Switzerland is on the first place in your list. For hundreds of years Switzerland has been the place for wealthy people to invest their money anonymously. Hiding the names and identity of their clients is one of the big selling points for wealth managers to open bank accounts in Switzerland. No wonder that they are staying up to date in the financial world. Innovations and going with the trend is one of the reasons of the crypto success. Having the chance to be independent and secure from the reach of federal governments is interesting for most investing. Unfortunately are the services provided in Switzerland usually for the wealthy clients. Trying to invest 5 or 10,000 USD is not very lucrative for the banks. That is why cryptos are so attractive for the average Joe.
2694  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HODL, HODL, HODL when can one actually sell Bitcoin? on: December 03, 2021, 12:12:22 PM
Very hard question to answer. First of all there are two types of sells for me. One is a small fast sell that usually happens when we need some money quickly. It is not an investment decision and just a way to cover our expenses. In this case I would usually try to sell some stocks first and not really touch my bitcoins. The second type of sell is a larger transaction and comes from an investment background. We don't believe anymore in the value of Bitcoin's and think there is a better opportunity for us to invest in. I still believe in bitcoins and the HODL strategy, that's why I would not sell at the moment. After reaching 200,000 USD I might consider switching into some alt coins.
2695  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Free spin and wagering on: December 03, 2021, 11:46:44 AM
I have been having misunderstanding these two popular words in gambling and I can't hide my feelings and I need help understanding these two terminologies, most of the gambling sites always announced some bonuses and sometimes their offer to give free spin or free wagering. What are their differences and how to do their work independently.

Not sure if there is an exact definition for these two or if casinos use them as they likely. What I noticed with free spins and free wagering is that free spins are usually just for one particular slot game. Most casinos have a lot of different slot games and might use free spins to boost one particular game that is not very popular at the moment. Free wagering on the other side is usually a dollar amount that can be used freely without any restrictions on particular games.
2696  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Basic trading strategy for newbie to make a profit on: December 02, 2021, 10:35:22 AM
In my opinion the best strategy for beginners when it comes to trading is just buy and hold. The HODL strategy has beaten many advanced trading strategies over the years. When I first started out with trading and investing I made mistakes a lot, and now with hindsight I would say that my biggest mistake was trading too much. Every time we buy and sell we need to pay fees which can become very big if we do it too often. So at first I would just hold until we make a decent profit. Afterwards we can use some of this profit to use active trading strategies with the help of technical analysis.
2697  Economy / Economics / Re: New COVID strain may affect crypto valuation on: December 02, 2021, 10:30:00 AM
I agree, it's too early to panic. We don't have a log of information yet. Panic selling could leave us hanging if the prices rise again. Better go just wait and see how bad is it really going to get. I remember last year when the news about the Delta and the Lambda variant came out. People were freaking out that the vaccines didn't work anymore, but in the end it wasn't true and the vaccines still seem to work. Reacting to the first news without having any scientific proof is not good. I will sit this one out and not sell.
2698  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is more real than money in the Bank on: December 02, 2021, 10:11:39 AM
I don't know if bitcoins will really be more real than fiat money in the near future. Bitcoins are definitely getting more attention and can be used in my stores to buy things. But having a wallet with physical fiat money is still king in my country. The small bakery near my home where I buy all my bread only accepts cash. The same goes for one of my favourite bars, they are very old school and only take credit cards for large bills. So if I had no cash anymore and only bitcoins it would be very hard to get buy. At the moment having both is still the best solution.
2699  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto casino key features!? Looking for a players advice! on: December 02, 2021, 10:06:23 AM

 - What's they key features that you are looking for when joining a new Crypto casino?
 - What set's you off from joining new casino?
 - Main cryptocurrencies that you like to gamble with?
 - Your favorite games?

When it comes to crypto casinos the key feature for me is that a large amount of alt coins are accepted as a form of deposit. Having the choice between various alt coins makes it much easier for the gambler to deposit some of his invested crypto coins. Before the covid pandemic I used to gamble with bitcoins but now since the last rally I am very reluctant to use any of my bitcoins. Now I only use alt coins that are not so attractive anymore of fiat money. For me the best games in casinos are Black jack, roulette and poker.
