2701  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | POS | Assets | Names | Polls | Automated Transactions | Social Network on: October 10, 2015, 03:16:20 PM
got the same problems. any suggestions?

Having problems again to synchronize my wallet. Are there any problems at the moment?  Sad

Synced OK here (or 'Oke' as the wallet calls it). Connected to 188.166.53.239 if you need a node/peer.

Edit: May have spoken too soon, now no connections after being synced for a little while.

I added a bunch of nodes from the list at qora.co.in and then restarted and it's been fine for an hour or so now.

So, I'm playing around with wallet a bit, and it keeps crashing when I try to register a name. It just freezes permanently as soon as I hit the 'Register' button, whether wallet is locked or unlocked. I also had a crash when I clicked on the file menu once. This is on a Windows computer. Is Linux the recommended platform? It should be pretty agnostic since it's Java, no?
2703  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Unitus (UIS): 1st Multi-Algo Merge-Mined on: October 10, 2015, 02:55:26 PM

I changed it back to a white background, it looked even worse.  Maybe if you stare at it a while, it will grow on you.
...

I just meant like maybe lighten it up a bit so it's not eye-catching, like this maybe:

You can find a list of good nodes here:
http://qora.co.in/?nodes

and add a bunch in Settings.

...a good POS coin?

Trick question? Also, is it just me or are all the gridcoin "comics" really terrible?

PM from themikeymen001:
My investors going to dump to at least 70 satoshi for the coming time. Then maybe to 20 satoshi. Hope others will do it afterwards too. We dump not because we don't believe in the coin. But too many coins are in hands of too less people. Professor and stock exchange specialist told me (us) to dump at least millions of coins.

Price will fall even harder for the coming time.

Is the FUD so you can buy back in cheaper? Telling people you're gonna dump hard and that the blockchain is broken (with zero examples/evidence of addresses or transactions), so you can get them to dump and you buy back in lower? Just being vindictive because the coin didn't get you two lambos? Not sure what your motivation is, but it's pretty clear your trying to manipulate people for your own interest.
2708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Unitus (UIS): 1st Multi-Algo Merge-Mined on: October 10, 2015, 02:19:16 AM

The new website is up!

http://Unitus.ninja

Check it out, we're hosting all the downloads and a blockchain bootstrap too!

This website is not meant to replace Unitus.info, which is still up and running fine.  Unitus.ninja is an auxiliary site which is targeted more towards beginners and people who aren't involved in crypto.  There are detailed mining instructions that hopefully can be followed by anyone even if they've never mined before.

Post here if you have any links, suggestions, or anything you'd like to see on the new site!

Nice! Background is kinda intense, imo. Maybe use like lighten the color saturation of the background or put some alpha in it or something so it's not so intruding (on the actual content of the page).
2709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 09, 2015, 02:17:12 AM
...

I still believe pricing monero in FIAT terms for future "gains" is flawed as we dont know how much inflation there will be in the future.

It should be compared to things like gold, silver, commodities, land, etc. Anything tangible comparing it to makes sense with the exception of comparing it to bitcoin.

I believe one monero will be worth approximately 3.7 sheep or 125 chickens within the next 75 lunar cycles Tongue
2710  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage - Working Beta - Currency has been released on: October 08, 2015, 03:46:15 PM
...

Storage should be on the Blockchain, clearly way out of these Devs reaches, if people want to see how real Decentralized on the BLOCKCHAIN is done, they should check out I/OCoin.
But be careful, the posters in that forum are a bunch of little girls.

Can't tell if sarcastic or not... Assuming not, that's insanity. What if five people want to store a couple TB on the blockchain. All of a sudden there is no one who wants to store the blockchain. I'm not betting Sia is going to be bigger than Dropbox, but it's certainly a more feasible and practical way forward than just jamming everything into a the blockchain.

Decent volume on Polo lately. That 1M GRS sell order at 550 sat tho  Shocked

2712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: MobileCash MBL on: October 08, 2015, 01:51:44 PM
I think the news is MBL has done about $10 worth of volume in a week on C-Cex

vs

You certainly can push the price down close to zero, since you're holding 1B premined coins, and probably all the way to zero since I doubt anyone is gonna sock 10 BTC at 1 sat.

You could also support the price above 10 sat quite easily, since the coin has only been out a few days, let's say a week, that's about 200k coins (excluding you're huge premine). You could buy all 200k coins at a price of 10 sat for 0.2 BTC. Since you supposedly have business partners and a plan for a business, one might think you would have the resources to spend at maximum $40/week to keep the price above 10 sat.

Ergo:
None of your _valuable_ predictions are valid so far... Smiley

Those aren't predictions, they're facts and estimates. Big premine is an understatement: it's fucking humongous. $10 was an estimate looking at all of the trading history on C-Cex, I just summed it up in a spreadsheet and there's been a total of 0.055 btc, that's $13.55, so it was actually a pretty decent estimate by eyeballing. Also, there's a grand total of about 300k in buy orders at C-Cex, so you could very easily dump the price to zero with your 1B premine coins. Not predictions, just facts and estimates Wink

I think the news is MBL has done about $10 worth of volume in a week on C-Cex, and has a website that would be considered shitty in 1996.

Blowing up soon though, I'm sure... Tongue

OK, will update syscoin and crypti in next few days.

Soooo, no open source? And if you do open source it will be for an old version? Seems legit.

Hey jwinterm. It will be for the latest version which is on the mainnet. That means v0.3.2. I will send you a PM once we released it.

OK, thanks for update. Looking forward to checking it out Smiley

See you in the 0.001 's ladies. Kiss Kiss

LeL, we're already in the 0.001's...what now?

Lets speculate about how long it will take to get back to the .002's. Not very long would be my guess.

I don't know. Looks like bitcoin might be on the move. People might want to hold out of alts and stay more in btc for the time being.
2718  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | POS | Assets | Names | Polls | Automated Transactions | Social Network on: October 06, 2015, 03:36:40 PM
As we are heading to the release of v0.23 I would like to raise some thoughts regarding the current situation.
As you know, we have pushed forward the whole environment of Qora with additional features, driving Qora to a new direction.
However, we are facing some issues, issues that I would like to explain below.

The major concern and the most effective problem we are facing is the weak network that we have.
Qora is not used, daily transactions are limited to less than 50 (most of them are from the faucet) and the connected nodes are getting fewer and fewer.
...

Qora needs something like a 'dice' site to keep the momentum, something similar to https://monerodice.net/. AFAIK 50% of profits from monerodice go to the monero dev team, so both investing in the bankroll, and playing the game help XMR. Qora needs something similar IMO

If anyone sets up a community based 'qoradice' I would invest heavily in the bankroll, and so to would many other Qora holders.

This certainly couldn't hurt. Would be cool if it could be done on the blockchain with AT, but I think it would probably be faster/easier to get it set up like justdice or monerodice.
2719  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [MYR] Myriad 0.9.2.16 REQUIRED UPDATE | 1st Multi-PoW on: October 06, 2015, 03:34:15 PM
Was there a fork or just an update? I'm missing some MYR from 9/27. and when I look up the TxID in the block, it says it does not exist. TxID is 7d407e39e0d375ac28f1984cb8c099aab3f37a6ecb59ffd9f62d6ec8de158163.

TIA

Yes, there was a recent hardfork, somewhere around that time. You should be using v0.9.2.16, as it says in the ANN title. If you sent coins on the wrong fork, they should be recoverable though, if you upgrade your client and reindex or rescan.

Difficulty has dropped a lot!

Difficulty: 537178064

Looks like a big botnet went offline last night.

Or maybe price is low enough that it switched to mining something else...
