281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Plz explain how ERC20 goes up 900% and down 840% in the same day? on: February 17, 2018, 09:43:10 PM
What’s the deal with ERC20? Coin value went up 900% and them lost the entire increase in value in the same day? HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN? What causes this incredible volititlity?  I’ve crossed over the newbie stage and just getting more familiar with the more complex, but what is ERC20 exactly (in simple terms)? Is it a good idea to by $10-$15k worth now? Where can I buy that much given I should/do?

EtherDelta was suggested online, but totally can’t fogure it out. Anyone fired up about this the profitability of this coin? Or concerned?

Your Thoughts we be appreciated!

Likely a Pump and Dump, if something goes up in value by an irrational amount and there's low volume then its likely a Pump and dump. And no if you see this happen its best to ignore it, I think U.CASH right now is PnD'd, the volume is about 1MM which is not a lot for a coin with a billion marketcap.
282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The opinion about some ICO on: February 17, 2018, 09:40:48 PM
In a fast moving market like crypto it can pay to check if this is the case. Some crypto's might go X in usd value on exchange launch but the BTC or ETH price stays the same or is lower than the ICO.
283  Economy / Speculation / Re: Panic sellers are once again hating themselves on: February 15, 2018, 10:29:06 PM
I think most people who panic sold also bought above 15k. Lot of newbies have come into crypto with high hopes, they have immediatly gone trough some of the most severe crashes in crypto, personally this was my first major crash aswell but since I came in exactly when China FUD happened I didn't let it bother me that much.

TIP:

Dollar cost average in, you're less focused on the price that way and don't have the headaches of the wild swings that BTC goes trough. That is ofcourse if you believe it will go up longterm
284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA not able to handle IoT? Issues don't end... on: February 14, 2018, 03:14:19 PM
That's the most dumbass article i've ever seen. He just randomly trying and compiling stuff he doesn't even need to perform his actions.
At least do some proper research if you want to publish something interesting about a certain cryptocurrency.

I would say, IOTA is currently the only suitable platform for IoT companies to build upon.

How though? Are you just saying that because you're holding a bag or do you truely believe that? Even then, i'd rather know than believe. So how do you know it is ready for IoT? I've never been a fan of this coin but the delusion of people invested in this beyond my comprehension.

Yes I truly believe that, and I'm also invested in it.
When is a platform ready? IOTA is still in development, but they're already doing real-world projects (e.g. making Taipei a smart city). At least it's the only platform with the potential to become the de-facto standard for IoT microtransactions. It must be feeless, scalable, has a data marketplace, and already have a good foundation with skilled people from all over the industry.

Tell me what other IoT dlt platform offers this? The FUD about the bad wallet just distracts from the great technology that a lot of (especially crypto) investors never even touch.

Guess you will be suprised when I say almost every other IoTblockchain -dag company.

Looks interesting but registration already closed, so we'll see.
286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exclusive "bitcoin" on waves blockchain on: February 13, 2018, 12:16:14 PM
So is Litecoin? Whoever made this just wants to profit over even stupider people than him/herself.

step 1. Make a token on waves blockchain (takes 1 minute)
step 2. Go on Bitcointalk and say that its cheaper and faster
step 3. Sell it on the exchange to people stupid enough to buy it
step 4. Profit
287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Debit Card ICOs on: February 13, 2018, 12:14:15 PM
I was checking out some new ICO's to invest and i could see a plethora of debit card/payments through card based ico's being launched. Don't we have just enough crypto cards to make payments right now? Have you ever used one or seen or heard someone using it? I just see ico's of it but never someone telling buying one of these cards

I kind of avoid ICOs rambling about debit/credit cards, they're often a little scammy and shady. I know certain companies are building infrastructure for blockchain and are also working on debit cards, I'll buy one from there instead of going trough an ICO. But no I've never seen anyone actually use one, I have heard about it but meh.. I'm not that interested for now.

I think this belongs in the speculation section.
290  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Target Market of Bitcoin on: February 13, 2018, 12:08:19 PM
Kindly enumerate all the target market of Bitcoin.

Many people now loves doing bitcoin because of the advantages of doing so but the fact is many of them are still not aware of what does the Bitcoin do and how does it work. And the list of knowledge about Bitcoin is too small.
Thats why I am asking now, who must be the Target Market of Bitcoin?
Thank you.

Everyone is basically the targeted audience, most of the early birds we're in it for political and ideological reasons. But BTC is a P2P electronic cash system (If LN will finally arrive), Peer 2 Peer means basically everyone.
If BTC gets any marketing its from entrepreneurs and evanglists that want people to know about or/and understand Bitcoin.

I think your question doesn't make a whole lot of sense and I think you can agree if you'd do a bit of research on what Bitcoin is, you probably would have figured it out yourself. So not sure if you're just randomly asking questions to get a postcount or are actually sincere, cause if you are sincere. Do some research first.
291  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Biggest upcoming or ongoing blockchain projects on: February 13, 2018, 12:03:18 PM
Hello guys, I'm doing some research and I need your assistance.

I'm looking for statistics for the biggest upcoming or ongoing blockchain projects (downloads, consumer apps, companies, etc)

I already have 2 projects that claims to have high numbers, do you have something similar or even bigger? Thanks for the help! Smiley

Telegram

In October 2017, Telegram reached 170 million monthly users, delivering 70 billion messages every day. At least 500 000 new users join Telegram daily. At this rate, the service is expected to hit 200 million monthly users in Q1 2018. These users can provide the required critical mass to push cryptocurrencies towards widespread adoption

Tradove

We now have 250,000+ corporate users, 100,000+ companies from 80+ countries including 200+ Fortune 1000 companies. We have teams in Silicon Valley, US, China and Geneva, Switzerland and investors, advisors and consultants in most major economies: US, China, Germany, Japan, UK, Switzerland and South America

They might be big in volume, but I think Telegram might be a scam so becarefull and Tradove is a dead platform with an ERC-20 token. I don't get why they don't just integrate LTC, ETH, BTC, BCH, DASH, XRP etc.
Oh yeah, no millions of dollars in ICO funds... ah!
292  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Where to find Chineese ICO investors. on: February 13, 2018, 12:00:44 PM
Chinese blockchain startups can only go trough private placement, some Chinese investor groups are: LinkCapital and some others I can't remember the name.

If you really want to reach Chinese investors that aren't accredited I hear they use telegram a lot but you're likely to just get banned.
293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How To Launch An ICO IN 2018?! on: February 13, 2018, 11:57:11 AM
Hi guys,

Myself and my team want to launch an ICO. We already have the idea and reputable team, but I was wondering... what does it take to have a successful ICO in 2018?

Obviously, in 2017 ICOs were free millions of dollars.. but in 2018 what do you suggest I do for a successful ICO and what steps should I take?

PS: Please no FUD or pessimism on doing an ICO.. just tell me what you suggest on being successful with an ICO in 2018 (e.g. what variables are required)?

I suggest you first work on a prototype or MVP so you have something to show for during the ICO. Honestly it kinda bothers me when you say: ''I already have an idea and a reputable team'' and to be quite honest, from that sentence alone it seems like the ICO is the product and not the other way around. If you really want a succesfull ICO, don't go the bounty route it really doesn't add much of value and only causes spam caused by bounty hunters and anoyance. Also MVP is important.

The word FUD should be ''banned'', this is critisiscm and my sincere opinion. Its like people plug up their ears and shout LALALALLA! whenever someone has something to say that isn't in alignment with the agenda's of everyone.

Can you give me the name of your company? I will know to avoid your ICO.

Also there are companies you can hire to advise and help you plan your ICO, if you want a succesfull one I suggest you take that route. Goodluck.
294  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Please share the alt coin you will keep throughout 2018 on: February 13, 2018, 11:46:57 AM
Bitcoin, Universa, Ethereum, and IoTChain.
295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Russian Gem: Universa on: February 13, 2018, 01:30:22 AM
Just a brief look makes me think that its just a moneygrab 100 mil mcap @ ico lol. 20k tps would be impressive like a month ago. It might become decent with more time given but I dont feel like investing whilst there are projects that have more promise in my opinion.

They raised 29M, not 100M. Also 20k tps is impressive if the network is also secure, cause I doubt much of the ICOs that are promising 1million tps will be secure enough to actually operate.
Not sure how its a moneygrab aswell, they are beating my expectations. The CEO has been networking very well and just released some potent news. I'll be sitting on it for a good while anyway. Plus loads of people opted for waiting on the mainnet tokens, which means they are willing to wait whatever time necessary before they receive those, doesn't seem very money greedy to me.

And be honest. Isn't like almost every ICO a money grab when people are just looking to flip it for 10x-50x-100x returns in the shortest span possible? Isn't that the point of investing? Making a return? Why do you think that spreadsheet of Ian Ballina is so popular? Because people think he picks great companies? No, they just want the same success by copying him.
296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Miss Blockchain. The saddest pageant. on: February 13, 2018, 01:11:05 AM

The entire purpose of an ICO is lost and it became a popularity contest. The ICO market works like a pageant contest where models can not only bribe the judges but can also buy the press.

First of all, really funny story. Enjoyed it

Second, you're absolutely right. I don't know if you heard about that guy Ian Ballina? He made some good money on ICOs and has this spreadsheet where he lists ICOs he wants to invest in and rates them (100%-0%).
Seems like people are going nuts over his little excel sheet though, everyone wants to copy him to maximalize profit, I even noticed that ICOs he gets into that it actually boosts the price... like.. seriously? You think he has some magic ability? He got in at the right time and he bought tons of ICOs, and we all know now. In 2017 you could have picked almost anything and made gains (even confido pumped to 60 cents after reaching 0.00$)

But ofcourse there are going to be extra-ordinaire winners, he also missed ICOs doing 10x on exchange launch. Its more a gamble than actual science.

And yes tons of ICOs just pay for press, don't know if the community actually realises that? Partnerships are hyped aswell even though people clearly have misconceptions of what it can mean to be a partner.
Seems like there's a genuine gold rush going on and people don't really care, aslong as the profits are there. Can't blame them, I'm doing somewhat the same.

But from an investors perspective, there are so MANY ICOs, its actually hard to find a good and decent ICO, tons of calender sites and once you find a good one you realise its already sold out! But people want to take profit really fast, they don't want to wait 1-3 years till the project is actually finished and can get marketed to the audience. Most companies/projects don't even make it to the age of 5..

And if you want quick profits, you're not going to invest in some obscure ICO no 1 cares about, there are some really good projects people ignore purely because it can't do that 10x within a week/month like they are used to.
And the ICO space is only attracting more attention from companies/consumers alike, so don't expect it to end anytime soon. (being a pageant contest)
297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ITC yellow paper is out on: February 13, 2018, 12:56:46 AM
ITC just announced their yellow paper and last week launched their test network.

yellowpaper: https://github.com/IoTChainCode/Documents/blob/master/ITC_YELLOW_PAPER_DRAFT.pdf

test network: https://medium.com/@IoT_Chain/the-itc-test-network-is-officially-live-c7a74c731de9

Any fans of IoT Chain here?? Rival to IOTA.

Yes, I'm FUDDing all the IOTA threads. No thats a joke but I do have serious critisicm towards IOTA but I find IoT a very interesting industry, I do hold a stake in IoTChain and am looking at another IoT company. I think IoTChain will be a few years before it makes any 'absurd' returns though but its nice to see some progress.
298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Does technical analysis work with crypto? on: February 13, 2018, 12:53:59 AM
I've been thinking about starting to learn how to read charts and do some technical analysis for myself. The problem is I see it ridiculed on pretty much every forum and people saying it's useless for crypto.

What are your thoughts? Worthwhile?

Its not absolute but it shouldn't be discarded entirely. I use TA myself for entries and exits but I sure don't daytrade, TA just isn't everything but it isn't nothing.
299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Amazing ICO, incredible find! [BABB] on: February 13, 2018, 12:52:47 AM
I think LaLaWorld tries the same thing, but I'm not exactly sure what the point of these banks or being your personal bank is. Is my Nano Ledger S a bank? I mean I store my money in it, thats basically functionallity number 1 of a bank. The financial services, I can get those elsewhere besides banks.
300  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Review my portfolio! Suggestions please..? on: February 13, 2018, 12:49:39 AM
I entered in crypto world few months ago..

invested 1700 $ and here is my portfolio:

ADA      30%
ICX       25%
VEN      10%
IOTA     10%
POE      10%
QSP      7,5%
XLM      7,5%

Any suggestions would be more than welcome..?! Which Coin to add, replace or not to do anything.. just HODL?!

Well anyone here is probably just going to say whatever they have in their portfolio, I'll try my best to give an subjectively objective answer though:
I'd lose IOTA personally, because I think this whole business reeks like fish and I don't trust the devs to actually be capable with this. (most projects fail because of the team, IOTA will be a good example)

I think the rest are fine though. Take my IOTA remarks with a pinch of salt though as I'm in no way qualified to tell you what to keep and what to hold. But do your research into it a bit and make up your mind.
