1141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETHD -- The new Deal ? on: October 05, 2017, 12:35:06 PM
Hello guys , lately ive been arround ETH AND ETHD , and noticed a lot of confusing ideas about to go in ETHD or not !

- I did invest 0.5 BTC in it .. should i be worried ?

It is aidropped and they cancelled the last 2 rounds (out of 4) due to spam accounts.
They advertise themselves on their website with 3 pointers.

1. P2P transactions
2. Instant transactions
3. Low Fee's.

I think there are better investment opportunities but I can't say more as that. Can't say I know allot about ETHD aswell.
1142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / WavesDesk Dividends pay out on: October 05, 2017, 12:25:09 PM
Hello,

I was wondering if anyone received any dividend pay out on the 1st of October 2017 on waves platform from holding wavesdesk and how much this is?

They are currently being traded for aprox 5-6 cents each.

Can someone also explain the leasing feature? As you can lease your waves to wavesdesk and receive a pay-out?

1. What do they use the waves for?
2. What are the risks?
3. What is the payout leasing wavesdesk per 10 waves, if it varies, aprox?

Can't really find much info on that on their website wavesdesk.com
1143  Economy / Economics / Re: Can a debt addicted generation survive with technologies like Crypto currencies? on: October 05, 2017, 11:45:10 AM
I think its a bit like the internet.. allot of folks don't know and never want to learn because they consider themselves to old.
Allot of folks will have to learn because corporations they work for use it.
Newer generations like millenials won't have a problem at all.

I'm not sure about government though as its rather tricky with crypto. But maybe we come up with something that's the biggest revolution to governmental powers since democracy got implemented.

But I don't actually think a debt addicted generation can survive anyway. At some point it has to stop, wether that be trough hyper inflation, economical shifts or else.
Printing money and loaning it out on debt, negative interest rates.. it doesn't work..

1144  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin investment with lump sum or regular small amount on: October 05, 2017, 11:29:39 AM
I'd say buying lump amounts on dips is better for short term trading. I'd also say its more effective for long term holding.

I think that bulk buys vs dollar/averaging each month is entirely dependent on your own financial situation.
If you have a low income its better to dollar/average each month.
If you can spare the money then its best to buy on a dip regardless of longterm/small term holding.
1145  Other / Politics & Society / Re: impact of social media on: October 05, 2017, 11:16:38 AM
Social media has a great impact on our daily life. The socio-cultural behavior is changed. Most of the times we are passing on internet and social medias. For this reason, we have started to loose social communication. Digital  communication has taken place instead of physical communication. Though we are connected with whole world through internet, it has some negative impacts also. Family bonding, social bonding,  these relations are affected.

And you base this on what?
1146  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think billionaires invest in BTC? on: October 05, 2017, 10:51:42 AM
I just always wonder if those billionaires still invest in btc. Do they even know btc exist?
The real question is do they really need to invest in btc when they have more than enough sources of earning profits. They might have a clue about what bitcoin is but it surely wouldn't be their top priority to invest in bitcoin, considering the fact that their doing well so far.

Well there could be another recession leading to hyper inflation, countries are far far in debt you know? And there's no actuall way to pay that debt back.

I think its fairly smart to throw a couple of millions into bitcoin if you're a billionaire as a means of securing your position in a next recession.

1148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency that pays Weekly-Monthly Dividend? on: October 04, 2017, 06:01:24 PM
Hey guys, kindly suggest me such cryptocurrencies!

Currently i am holding
Taas (Fund Management)
ETHBits (Revenue Share from Business)
Trueflip (Lottery Ticket Sales Dividend)

But most of this asset i hold pays every Q1-Q4

Looking for shorter term revenue share/dividend tokens!

Thanks

Bankera does (ICO phase) ehm GoalBonanza pays dividends not sure if its weekly tho(ICO phase) - WavesDesk(also not sure if weekly and minimum of 100 wavesdesk is required)
WavesDesk also had a 60million Burn, 50% is in the hands of insiders.. I calculated that with 100 wavesdesk and a revenue split of 2million you'd get aprox 5 dollars. (Ibought 100wavesdesk today for 1 wave =5 dollar).
1149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Blocktime Ethereum am I fucked? on: October 04, 2017, 04:52:41 PM
So I put a sell order for SUB on Etherdelta at 40k, now the price has gone up to about 65k (eth). price moved really quick after I put the sell order down.. but

I don't have any ether on my etherdelta account so I can't cancel the order as it says that there's no eth to cover the price of gas and I suppose likewise there isn't any eth to cover the cost of GAS to execute the sell order. The block time is 9972 which by week's average would be aprox 6-7 hours before it expires.

If I do deposit Ether will it excecute the sell order immediatly?

1150  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Identity manager in the making - your thoughts? on: October 04, 2017, 02:42:42 PM
We’ve been working for a few months now on a tool to change the way people sign in online and keep their personal information secure.

This is our first step towards a decentralized identity solution. We want to create something useful, so we’re keen to get some initial feedback: https://lynxid.tech

What do you think - does it look like we are heading down the right path?

If I get it correct, anyone with acces to your phone can now log in to anything you have your account linked with?
Also the name doesn't help very much, it is a bit confusing.

Assuming you need some kind of fingerprint to acces the phone, this is really easy to get and I'd say fingerprint security is overrated.
(you can get it with a bit of cinnamon and adhesive tape, thats the most basic way).

It can probably also use rebranding, LYNX is a pretty well known brand already and it would just confuse people. Why not Sloth? ( it is a bit of a lazy solution)

Quote
Password hackers are getting more and more advanced, so you need passwords that are not easy to recognize, and a unique password for each online service you use. We encourage you to review if each of your passwords is unique and sufficiently complex to keep you safe online, and then consider if Lynx is right for you.

As for myself I use a ton of different passwords for every site I register to. I keep this all handwritten down on a piece of paper. I remember the passwords really quick and often don't even need the piece of paper for over 30 different passwords I have. I'd say it would not be a product for me.

I think this is a lazy man's product and it fits right in todays age. I don't think it is secure, at all.
1151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Waves - incoming transfer WNET? on: October 04, 2017, 12:16:14 PM

1152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Question: When was the last hardfork (BitcoinCash?) on: October 04, 2017, 10:53:56 AM
Hey, I am wondering if its safe to invest in the altcoin market with the hardfork coming up so I thought I'd take a look in cmc history to see what happened last hardfork with Bitcoincash.

Anyone have a specific date when BCC launched?

1155  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if another altcoin surpasses BTC in value? on: October 02, 2017, 07:46:44 PM
I think that it is almost impossible, there's still a long road of adaption for BTC and during that proces I don't think any altcoin will surpass BTCs value.
Though I think it is very possible that once the world has become adapted to BTC and crypto is a more daily practice of life that there is potential for other coins to grow bigger than BTC. But right now you have to take in account that BTC is traded mainly for all other currencies and this reaffirms its position over other coins.

1157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any information on BGold? on: October 02, 2017, 01:11:34 PM
The era of hard forks seems to really have arrived to stay. After Bitcoin Cash (BCH), which originated from the Bitcoin network (BTC) on August 1st, another currency could emerge on October 25th. Called Bitcoin Gold (BTG), this new cripto-coin will be distributed to all Bitcoin holders by the due date and should start trading in brokerage firms around the world starting November 1st.
In order to receive your BTGs immediately you will need to be in possession of your Bitcoins' private key. If your Bitcoins are in a portfolio or brokerage house that keeps the custody of your digital asset, the receipt of your Bitcoin Gold coins will be at the mercy of the willingness and availability of those intermediaries.

Very newb question here: So if I keep my BTC on a wallet such as electrum, does that mean I'm the receiver of the receipt? What about Nano ledger? If I have my btc on that during the fork what happens?

In theory if you hold the private keys to your wallet, it doesn't matter what wallet you use and you will receive your cut of BTG. Personally I dont think they will end up being worth much.
Also the btc gold fork will distract attention from the upcoming 2X fork and hopefully minimise its effect

No I'm confused and honestly I still don't get this whole private key thing. I litterly just made a wallet but (liteclient) but I didn't receive any 256bit series of numbers (private key right?)
So that wallet, the liteclient wallet is the recipient of BTCGold? (I don't care about value but I want to understand the technical aspects)

I honestly don't know the right questions to ask..

I can find my receiving adress in the tab: receive? Or is that just for payment requests? If so where can I find a receiving adres? (feel like a newbie)

Okay since I could not find any other receive adresses I just went with it and it worked out.. (yay!)

But is there anyway to change the wallet settings as to show the bitcoins as 1.110084945 type of thing? Cause this mBTC is confusing the fuck out of me
1160  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC wallet help on: October 02, 2017, 12:02:20 PM
Electrum wallet is best for you
No need to download all block chain data

Alright, can you provide me with a link?
