281  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's not too late to sell on: June 30, 2018, 06:13:21 AM
What now OP, have you seen the price bounce back at $6500 from the fall? It's too late for you and I guess you've regret your decision. Just like what I've said it's better to wait for rise than waiting for fall. Sell while in the state of fall are just for people that have weak hand and people who badly need a fiat(has a good reason).

I would imagine OP (as well as most other people actively selling at this time) are either 1) playing the market or 2) in a pretty good position overall. People who bought at $20k and the way down who are still around are waiting to get back in the green. People from before the late 2017 run obviously are still in big profit.
282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I earned $ 3500 from the 1 airdrop on: June 30, 2018, 06:08:07 AM
I earned close to that amount for a couple weeks participation in the DeepOnion "airdrop" (which was realistically a low-effort weekly signature campaign) in its first weeks before they re-organized it and opened it up to a broader group of participants.

Many people in here are saying airdrops can only be a worthwhile payoff with luck but I think screening the offers and going for high quality projects w/ solid airdrop incentives can be quite fruitful. I earned .125 BTC through the Digicube airdrop as well, and decent rates for Steemit and a few others. Although I don't really watch out for airdrops so if I was more vigilant I could probably find many more opportunities.
283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin pump done just before CME futures expiration time! on: June 30, 2018, 05:58:43 AM
Correlation != causation...

Far more likely is the pump was a response to the great news regarding ETF acceptance in the US: https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-sec-etf/us-securities-regulator-unveils-proposal-to-ease-etf-approvals-idUSKBN1JO2EV?utm_source=reddit.com
284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: A library of valuable crypto articles on: June 25, 2018, 12:04:04 AM
Wanted to know if you had any good information about Oracles, specifically as they relate to smart contract environments? Looking to gather information on both centralized and decentralized solutions. Anything you got helps a great deal Smiley
285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How to find potential small cap projects on: June 25, 2018, 12:02:42 AM
It's better to find the projects before they get added on Coinmarketcap. Look for projects picking up good volume on quick-to-list exchanges like IDEX. Decent volume + not much appreciation and then check for the fundamentals. If it's a sound project you are good to go.
286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: best coins for Scalping trading on: June 25, 2018, 12:01:21 AM
Any coins with decent volumes that are primarily traded upon smaller exchanges are good bets. Coins traded on places like Cryptopia, Yobit, and IDEX. HitBtc also offers some good scalping opportunities because their order intervals can sometimes be pretty big gaps for certain coins. Realistically its a matter of finding the right market/chart to trade, the coin is irrelevant.
287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: nem vs cardano, who is the best on: June 24, 2018, 11:59:26 PM
I think NEM provides some pretty interesting dynamics with its Proof-of-Activity approach where users of the network are actually incentivized to engage in transactions vs. holding it as is seen through PoS. However I think NEM and ADA are similar in that they both have massive potential that hasn't been entirely tapped into yet. I think that makes them both bad investments because there are similarly unproven, potentially massive projects worth far, far less than the two. I think both have too big of downside.
288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Steem Dollar SBD Back to 12$? on: June 24, 2018, 11:57:07 PM
I think it is foolishness to think the price will go to $12, it is all these crazy things in the space, check the whitepaper, the price is suppose to be fixed at $1, I am not concerned about this, because this even happens recently when Binance announced that they are listing TrueUSD thevalue went as high as $1.80 for something tied to $1

Yeah, I think it would actually be quite harmful for the Steem platform if SBD were to retrace to US$12. It's a stablecoin and designed to be pegged to the dollar. I don't think it's necessarily a "bad omen" or what have you if the $1 valuation holds.
289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is EOS really decentralized? on: June 24, 2018, 07:59:39 AM
EOS is no less centralized than your local bank or government body. The only difference between the two is the governance model of EOS is far less sustainable.
290  Economy / Speculation / Re: Could governments manipulate the price like this? on: June 24, 2018, 07:55:46 AM
Sure- just like any major entity can influence any variable.

Governments, however, are likely not doing this because they stand to gain from cryptocurrency. Malta is going to see double digits GDP growth in 2018, Venezuela will be able to circumvent trade sanctions, France will lead major tech innovations. All of these advancements are happening through blockchain acceptance. Governments stand to be much bigger winners than fostering crypto businesses and activities than to try to squander the industry as a whole.
291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Shill me some new low cap coins on: June 24, 2018, 07:48:21 AM
(VIEW) on IDEX or LiveCoin. Its market cap is under the amount they raised. Also not listed on CMC yet.

https://view.ly
https://bitgur.com/coin/VIEW

(ICOT) on Coin Exchange just started generating volume and looks to blow any second. As of today its a top 5 on the entire exchange.

https://www.coinexchange.io/market/ICOT/BTC

Will check out view, thanks for sharing. Be weary of coinexchange volume as that exchange is known for manipulation and wash trading.

A favorite low cap of mine is MyWISH. Market cap is about $2 million. Team has been phenomenal with hitting each of their deadlines. MyWISH allows simple smart contract creation across multiple blockchains: Bitcoin, Ethereum, and NEO. EOS and ADA integration is coming soon, too.
292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Tether up! Let the whales play alone: Only solution! on: June 24, 2018, 07:43:18 AM
I'm fortunate in that I've been building my crypto portfolio since 2013, so I'm nowhere near and never will be in a position where I could see net possess. However, I don't think my approach is much different in that I'm holding on for the long haul. It doesn't matter if we drop to 5k or 4k now. I'd rather eat those losses than Tether up and risk missing the next bull run. I'm there's much more to lose than to gain by heading to the sidelines at this point in time.
293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: All Altcoins are Securities? on: June 24, 2018, 07:38:34 AM
Shipchain's Cease-and-Desist suggests that merit of coins offered through ICO in the form of utility or otherwise cannot exempt it from danger as being labeled a security.

One project I'm curious about, however, is Look Network's Zombie Battleground. Zombie Battleground is funded via kick-starter, and contributors get packs of cards for funding (ERC723). Is a non-fingible token approach to ICOs an option that could defeat the securities question?
294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm back! Who's still here from those days in 2016? on: June 23, 2018, 08:12:18 AM
Been around since 2013... Welcome back Smiley

Ethereum is in a bit of murly waters right no there are a lot of really exciting projects looking to provide platform more expansive or user friendly or scalable than Ethereum. Coins like Icon, Cardano, and NEO, to name a few. Non-negligible transaction fees and miniscule use of Ethereum dapps suggest that Eth is failing to bring in users. I'm pretty bullish in Ethereum as it's long of smart contracts and block 2.0, however the uncertainty of many has led the price to slide considerably as of late.
295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SLeepless nights doing bounty campaign is it worth it? on: June 23, 2018, 08:05:09 AM
I know that there are other members here working day and night doing bounty campaigns. But i think that doing bounty campaigns is not worth it especially if you had a lot of work during the day. Some are just boasting on their bounty campaign earning wherein fact maybe because they are lucky to receive those awards but somehow do not wish that you could be like them because some of the ICO project that you will going to work will not give bounty rewards and some of it will fail, or just pause. So no reason for sleeping late at night.
Im sure there are really people who do have sleepless nights but majority of them are those who work on translations or moderation but talking with signature and repost/retweets then its not actually a valid reason since those things doesnt consume too much time.
Doing bounty is depending into your preference if you do seek up for potential additional profits then it is worthy  to try but you should be ready on the risk behind it.You might really end up on not getting paid and waste all of your efforts been done.

It's really hard for me to catch up my life.
I work a day job with an overtime. 8 in the morning to 6 in the evening. And I live alone and need to do the chores myself.
With bounties and world cup going at a time, I can hardly watch any matches properly.

Personally, I browse the forums on my phone when I get a chance and post from there. Right now I'm posting from my phone right before I fall asleep. However I'm not working 10 hour days. I do s few hours of freelance writing a day from my home, so I also have a lot more energy and free time for those kinds of activities. Perhaps get a couple posts in during lunch and bathroom breaks? And one or two before going to bed at night? Ofc, it also depends on how much volume you need each week.
296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Experts: Many Small Cryptocurrency Exchanges To Go Out Of Business Soon on: June 23, 2018, 07:30:13 AM
It's certainly a trend that's evident if you're paying attention. One of my favorite small exchanges is tuxexchange, which deals primarily with pepecash and other counterparty assets. Tux has always been super reliable, instant customer services, everything you want out of an exchange... But still fails to attract meaningful volume. 95% of days will be less than 10 BTC in total exchange volume. And Tux is higher quality than most exchanges out there. Compare it to the shady small exchanges that are stealing funds and exit scamming, it only seems logical that these guppies fail to attract attention.

Especially with the growing prevalence of decentralized exchanges as a means to accumulating small and new projects, there is a decreasing incentive to deal with subprime centralized exchanges.
297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs. Altcoins on: June 22, 2018, 11:56:32 PM
Bitcoin is still (and will remain) the best cryptocurrency as a store-of-wealth and for commercial/consumer use. That means certainly do not invest in Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, DASH, NANO, or other "currency first" coins.

However, there are a wide range of utilites, functionalities, and platforms embodied by numerous altcoins and alternative blockchains. If you are looking to invest in the future of crypto, and its imminent technological adoption, then it may be wiser to invest in projects like Ethereum, Icon, VeChain, etc. etc. etc.

No more good news ? Embarrassed

At this point, everyone is pretty much waiting on Rarepepeparty. It'll still be a great game if/when it comes out, so hodl your rare pepes until then Cheesy
299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MOBILEGO Crowdfund [$53 Million] - Decentralized Mobile Gaming Solutions on: June 17, 2018, 10:35:55 PM

Glad to see one more non-bounty hunter Wink
Hey you you said unfortunately this is all true,
as for you do you keep holding?

Yes ,my plan is to hold on til the pump if it ever happens .

It is frustrating with how far behind everything has been. In my phone's notepad, I made my crypto predictions for the upcoming year. For GAME/MGO, I expected a breakout in July. I supposed its still possible, but the idea is all the core features released and people beginning to play Pixel Wars and what have you. I'm certain we will see this eventually, Pixel Wars looked great in Beta. Everything is just moving at a snail's pace.

Even if that all happens, who is going to buy when all the ICO investors are holding for all of eternity because they refuse to sell at a loss?  The volume on the current exchanges is pathetic so first of all we'd need to be on bittrex or Binance.  After we accomplish the former, the bag holders need to just give up for whatever reason and start dumping so that the new money has a reason to scoop it up and then manipulate the new pump.

When you think about all of this it seems like its just plain ole' fucked like every other ico scam out there

When people are USING the platform, there will be a demand from USERS to purchase the coin. That's how utility tokens work. MGO is twice as dangerous with the buy-back and burn, the more people who use the coin, the quicker the supply dwindles.
300  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: An ideal crypto portfolio on: June 17, 2018, 10:34:37 PM
I don't think there is any reason to invest in 10 or however many of large cap coins. You're essentially betting that the industry will 40x by your desired date to achieve your goal. You might as well go BTC/XRP/ETH/XMR and call it a day. It'll be the same in the end.

A better strategy would be to keep at least some percent of your portfolio- that you are comfortable with, in small cap coins for high returns. 5-25% in IDEX gems and other undervalued projects that can pop off any day. I'd also put anywhere from 30-60% in mid caps, projects in the 100mil-999mil range that stand out from the others. Not super huge downside but also potential to climb the ranks as days go by.
