281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Adoption Campaign on: May 27, 2023, 05:45:47 AM
Not a bad idea, but I doubt anyone would save cents over there to buy bitcoin. The fees that they will have to pay is going to be much more than what they will  be saving after weeks. Not worth it, but yeah, at least more people will be curious about bitcoin after seeing this campaign. That might make them invest in bitcoin in the future. Would be better if you promote safety and security too. That's the part that most people "find it complicated" and ends up either giving up investing in bitcoin or starts using a centralized wallet and exchange for storing crypto. But this is exactly what we don't want.
282  Economy / Speculation / Re: Know your time to HOLD on: May 27, 2023, 04:52:32 AM
My take on bitcoin in 2023 by the way it bought and was pumping pumping and pumping was like it will never stop. I thought it was my year to make my money and keep much of Bitcoin in my wallet. But the dullness of over 2 months has changed my mind. The scenario poured coldness in my mind but again let me know that bitcoin behaves like an asset and asset has the time to buy and sell not the way I thought it will always be be buying.

I have waited for the price to reach $25k for me to start pumping my money, it never reach there. I grows impatient daily, I won't wait more than 1st of July, any price I see it is what I buy.

I don't like to sound desperate, do I sound desperate or determine to make money?

Bitcoin HODLing for years can not be a lost affair.

That's why people like you do need a solid "goal" when investing. If you have a goal, you wouldn't be needing to wait or hold your coins forever. If you think you reached your profit goal, then go ahead, take your profit and enjoy. After have taken your profit, if you think you are ready to reinvest, then go ahead and reinvest your money and make a new profit goal. Keep holding until you reach that goal. Remember, you are investing money that you don't need and can afford to lose. But as long as you keep holding and not sell anything, you aren't making any losses. Once you reach your goal again, reinvest or leave.
283  Economy / Gambling / Re: Using ToS against users normal? on: May 27, 2023, 04:15:13 AM
Changing of terms and conditions without notifying the users or gamblers is normal with online gambling websites? Then when you did something wrong or about to withdraw your money they will tell you that you don't read their terms and conditions, and you start arguing with them until you decide to read the ToS again and you find out that it's different.

Some gambling websites consist of wicked owners that willingly plan to defraud their users using the ToS against them, or is this normal? Have such happened to anyone on this forum before?
If its a major change, then yes, they will notify you about the changes. You will most likely receive an email or when the next time you enter their site, you are made to agree those terms again. I doubt any well known casino would want to "defraud" their customers by using their terms against them. They would be losing more customers than they would have scammed.
If something similar happened to you or "one of your friends" in a well known casino, then most likely the user didn't read the updates when they were notified.
284  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I am only trying to stay safe by gambling less on: May 27, 2023, 03:44:41 AM
It's weird that they are trying to make you look like a gambling addicted (even though they are ones who gamble a lot) just because you invest in bitcoin. Did you say something to them about their gambling habit and tried to make them feel bad, and now as a retaliation and to pull your legs, they are teasing you by saying you are a gambling addict because you make investments in bitcoin? Anyway, show them the charts. Show them in the long run you make profit as long as you are holding. But in casinos, in the long run, you are most like to lose money. Now ask them again, if gambling in a casino and investing in bitcoin is still the same..
285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do not be pulled by the hype of meme coins on: May 27, 2023, 03:32:53 AM
Most of  them invest in meme coins to get rich real quick. But they don't realize that the chance of losing their money is much higher than making any profit. There are hundreds of meme coins, but how many of them are legit? and how many of them gave them profit? Like 1 in thousands. So yeah, do the math and you will know that high chance they will be losing their money. They also don't realize that when the "hype" starts, it is already too late to be investing anything. Don't be pulled by the false hope of the meme coins and encourage those scammers more!
286  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dubai to construct the world's first bitcoin tower on: May 26, 2023, 05:19:42 AM
It's always Dubai first I guess. As far as I know, Dubai is a crypto friendly country and using of bitcoin is encouraged there. Wasn't there supposed to be a part of the city that is completely "digital" and will be using crypto currencies? Also as far as I remember, companies from that part has to pay no crypto taxes.
Anyway, the tower is a good thing for them. More people will be curious about bitcoin, more people will know about it and eventually more people will start using it as a currency. The country knows what lies in the future...
287  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't be fool to keep it online, look my name on: May 25, 2023, 02:48:50 PM
But people are too lazy, aren't they? Wouldn't they want the option that is most easiest for them? Sadly there are lots of people that think "managing" their own bitcoin is more complicated then managing their fiat currency. They find the concept of keys and backups something hard to understand. So they end up using centralized services that makes things "easier for them". Unfortunately, they don't realize that exchanges and wallets are more vulnerable to hacks and there is always a chance the wallet/exchange might disappear one day. Since they don't have access to their own keys, they can never recover their coins. No matter how much a service claims they are "best", they aren't. Better to hold your own keys if you want to be the real owner of your coins.
288  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which Crypto coin Do You Gamble with the Most? on: May 25, 2023, 06:20:50 AM
This is something I was discussing in one of my comment on one of the threads on this board, I shared the below as my opinion and thought to escalate it as a new thread to get to find out what crypto currencies every other gambler out there prefer..

Personally, I've always preferred doing all my gambling transactions in stable coin, like I explained a bit in my comment in another thread, gambling with stablecoins helps me to..

1. Keep track of my actual spending..
2. It helps me keep and maintain a threshold in times of long loosing streak - i will explain further..

Keep track of spending in gambling is kinda hard to do with unstable coins like bitcoin and other altcoin, for example, let say, yesterday, you gambled away 0.01 bitcoin, and at the time of the transaction, 0.91 bitcoin was worth $500 due to the price of bitcoin then, and you already put it on record that you lost $500 in gambling yesterday, and by today, the over all price of bitcoin increase by let's say 15 percent or more, going back to your loss in yesterday's gambling, you know it's no longer $500 you lost, the amount you lost has increased by 15 percent or more due to the increase in price of bitcoin - simply because if you hadn't gambled away the bitcoin but held it, the gains today would have been in your pocket - this example is also the other way round in cases where the price of bitcoin falls instead of increase..

The point is, this can create confusion for those who keep a gambling journal - some kind of spreadsheet where they keep record of all their gambling wins and losses - this helps to know when you actually spending too much in gambling and not getting any profit in return.

With stable coin, keeping a clean sheet is possible as $1 loss will always be $1, while a $2 win will always be $2 since stable coins do not show any significant increase or decrease in their price except in times of crises, which is not something that happens frequently..

So for me, I've always preferred to do all my gambling in stable coins only for the reasons given above..
So what about you? Do you feel and do the same or do you have a different perspective to this altogether? Let's discuss.
I would prefer with bitcoin if I am gambling with crypto. But I guess there are people that would want to gamble with a stable coin just so that the volatility of the coins don't affect their gambling experience. But then again, they would use it only if the casino provides options to make deposit with cheaper network. I doubt anyone would want to deposit USDT from ethereum network spending around $10 fees and then another huge fee when withdrawing. At least smaller gamblers won't do that. They would instead use altcoin with cheaper fee like dogecoin or litecoin. It all depends on their preference.
289  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can't central bankers just buy all the bitcoin and miners? on: May 25, 2023, 06:06:34 AM
Yeah, they can, but there is something that is stopping them or else they would have done it already, right? When they actually do it, bitcoin won't remain decentralized anymore.  It would become another regular currency like fiat currency. People will no longer be interested in it, hence I doubt the value of bitcoin will be the same. Buying all bitcoin for no one to accept it? That won't be good for the banker, would it? People would just move on to another coins. The bankers can't buy each and every coin now, can they?
290  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Getting around KYC on: May 19, 2023, 11:46:52 AM
A friend was telling me about: "The mycelium app
has a marketplace section where you type your zip code and you can meet up with local buyer/sellers of BTC to
do a cash transaction in person. Back in the day localbitcoins.com was perfect for this, but after the gov't put
pressure on them, they are no longer usable. Another venue you can use to find local cash/buyers and sellers
LocalCryptos.com. This way you avoid leaving a paper trail."

I live in America. Can any of you recommend  a site that has this type of function as the ones my friend
described above, and what were your experiences? I do worry about possibly you making a transfer and the
buyer, for example doesn't fulfill their agreement? Its not as if you could reverse the transfer. I realize I may
be a little paranoid, but this process is new to me!

I hope to hear from you reasonably soon!!!
I doubt there would be any service legally providing (the Americans) what you want. Any institution that provides such financia services must collect information from the users or they will be fined and sued. Its becoming more and more strict now. The only way you can do this right now is by looking for someone near you through the internet or forums wanting to buy bitcoin and pay in cash (fishy...). I wouldn't recommend this though. You don't know who you might meet.
291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will you do with bitcoin? on: May 19, 2023, 01:03:42 AM
Hello guys!
Today I was thinking about Bitcoin and where it will finally go up. And I came to the conclusion that I don't really understand what is the right thing to do with Bitcoin after it will "go to the moon".

So I wanted to ask you all, what are you planing to do with bitcoin when it will go to 70k, 80k etc. Are you planing to sell it or you will keep holding it?
If you will sell it, at what price are you planning to do it?
Are you here to make profit? Then sell it with the price goes up and enjoy the profit. But are you here to use bitcoin as a regular currency? Then hold it and use it as a regular currency. There is no need to sell it. If the value goes up, then great. You have to spend less bitcoin  when buying anything. The price goes down? Not a problem for you. You still uses it as a regular currency. It is just that you need to spend more of your coins to buy the same thing....

Most people are here for the profit. So when the price goes up, the sell and take the profit. When it goes down, they reinvest.
292  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Things that still make feel awkward with some online casinos on: May 19, 2023, 12:48:52 AM
Why are some online gambling platforms having high withdrawal fee? I know Bitcoin recently has a high transaction fee but that's no more right now, some online casinos are still asking for 5$ per transaction when it should be 1$ or less.

Not just only Bitcoin withdrawal, even coins with very low transaction fee, isn't this robbery? If you just signed up on a centralized exchange, you can pretend as if you want to withdraw, to know how much the gas fee costs, but on online casino, you will see this only after you have enough wins or funds for withdrawal.
The fees are mentioned before you can withdraw. Also centralized exchanges have higher withdrawal fees. So if you can deposit and withdraw from an exchange just only to see the fees, then why can't you do the same with the casinos? Deposit and see how much the fee is...
Like others said, if Bitcoin fee is too much for you, then use other altcoins with lower fees.
293  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambling is a choice. on: May 17, 2023, 11:09:43 PM
Something happened in my locality and I just wonder if that's how we also behave in the online space.

So, they're always a group of rougues in my country, they're often sited in the market place where there's a reasonable population, what's their work???

The have things in a martch box like stones and sticks, they'll ask you to pick the one out of it that has something, depending on what the want....

At first, when you pick, they'll let you win so as to drag your attention, then subsequent wins, you'll be at the losing side and the make sure the drain your pockets entirely.

So, just last week, this lady fell a victim and she was shouting and crying, the had obviously emptied her pocket and even gotten her phone from her in the process of the gambling.

My thoughts, is this how we often feel when we lose out on a bet??
Do you wish the site can refund your money??

Gambling should be your choice, you shouldn't let anyone compel or persuade you into it.

Yeah, I do agree with you. I mean everyone with a sane mind would agree that gambling is a choice and a form of entertainment. People shouldn't be gambling to get rich quick. What happened to the lady is sad. But she knew what she was doing. I guess a lesson learned for her. But I don't think they were offering her gambling service. More like they were scamming her. Letting her win and then making her lose sounds more like a scam.

Casino's aren't here to refund money. Once a bet is placed, it is final. If casinos started to refund money, they would go out of business very soon.
294  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There is something wrong with understanding Bitcoin on: May 17, 2023, 02:33:42 AM
-snip-
the level of people's trust in fiat from ancient times to very low. People are willing to work hard to earn fiat currency and convert into this type of investment.
Those who understand Bitcoin, including its volatility and choose to invest in Bitcoin, are very easy to panic about the price, even though Bitcoin has been proven to be a future investment choice. There must be something wrong with them.
If you invest your hard earned money on something and you see your investment going down, yes, you might panic too. No matter how much you have seen the market dips, when it happens to you, you will slightly panic. I think its very normal. Nothing is wrong with them. As long as they don't panic sell, they should be fine.
And I guess those who invest what they can't afford to lose are actually the one that panics a lot when the price goes down.
295  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What a shame on: May 16, 2023, 11:40:26 PM
-snip-
One of the students have a father that's a lecturer and after I got home this student told me that his father said that the government is the only thing that can decide if a currency is fit to be people's currency or not, if the government says no then it's a no, coming from a lecturer this is so sad.

His son have an interest in Bitcoin and now it's left for him to make a choice, I am only surprised how a lecturer can be this dense, something that should be coming from an illiterate.

I don't know if this will impact the other students too because they are all from the same school but I do hope I've not wasted my energy, I spent 2 hours talking about Bitcoin and the Blockchain.
-snip-

Not sure what his dad told him wrong. His dad was right. The government controls the finances of the country. It is the government of that country that can decided which currency is going to be a legal tender and which is not. His dad never discouraged him to use bitcoin. So I don't know why his son would loose interest in Bitcoin. As long as bitcoin is legal to use in their country, it is fine to invest and use it. Most of the country hasn't made bitcoin a legal tender, yet they all still use it as a currency without any issue. If you spent "tow hours" lecturing students about Bitcoin and blockchain, then there isn't anything to worry about since I am sure you already explained to them what a legal tender is and why they can still use bitcoin even if it isn't a legal tender.
296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Promising altcoins? on: May 13, 2023, 04:58:49 PM
Ethereum (ETH),Binance Coin (BNB),XRP (XRP). how to choose how to distribute the interest on them?
Yeah those are some good altcoin (not sure about XRP though) that you have chosen. Try to spread it among the top well known altcoins. But if you are looking for those "promising" altcoins (by which you mean they are undervalued, right?), you need to do a lot of research. around 99% of the altcoins are just some random coins that has no real use case or is just a clone of other altcoins. Why not invest in Bitcoin? You would be risking less in the long run.
297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: PEPE time to buy NOW? on: May 13, 2023, 04:47:42 PM
It's already too late. When you start hearing the "news", then you should know that you are already late. It is when people will start dumping their tokens. But why invest in a shit meme coin and risk all your money? Yeah, there is a chance it might go up more, but it won't go up like it did before or it would end up dominating the whole crypto market. Chances are it might get dumped. And I read somewhere that PEPE developers can "freeze" wallets whenever they want. You don't want to be investing in such coins..
298  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Understanding the Basics of Trading in the Cryptocurrency Market on: May 13, 2023, 04:39:41 PM
Easy to say all those things, hard to execute it. Just understanding the market won't help you become a good trader. You need to trade and that's how you gain your experiences. You will make mistakes, but you should learn from the mistakes instead of giving up. Yeah, strategies can help like you said, but there are no "golden" strategy that will help you make guaranteed profits. But yes, it can help you control your losses. As for choosing the right exchange, there are no "perfect" exchanges. All of them are vulnerable to hacks and you should never store your coins there.
299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Internet is one limitation of bitcoin on: May 13, 2023, 04:21:25 PM
Yeah, that's an issue and a limitation to be honest. Nothing much we can do here until someone comes up with a new solution. Others are recommending using Starlink or other satellite equipment. But as far as I know, the government can also put a ban on own such devices if they want. Getting caught using those devices can end up putting you on the jail. The same with satellite phones. There are countries out there were using such phones are prohibited. They can put an overall ban in producing or importing those equipment...
300  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where is Satoshi? on: May 13, 2023, 04:12:30 PM
Why would we need Satoshi to fix the issues and problems. I thought bitcoin was meant to be decentralized. How can it be decentralized if people starts to see Satoshi as the "leader" of the network who will solve all the problems? I doubt Satoshi is every going to show himself. Yeah, he might help the network as a one of those many developers who helps improves the network. What I don't understand is why people are so obsessed with revealing his identity. Why do some people thing it would be a good thing?
