2841  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: July 06, 2023, 02:28:07 PM
I think if you understand that gambling is about entertainment, then you’ll find yourself quitting gambling when it stops being fun. The problem is that people want to chase the fun and that usually leads to losses, sometimes life changing that can affect relationships or even damage your financial future. Stick to fun, but stop when the fun stops.
2842  Economy / Speculation / Re: If bitcoin will accepted worldwide for legal then price rising $100k?? on: July 06, 2023, 02:26:23 PM
If btc is legally accepted in all countries then huge number of investors will increase. and the use of btc in various fields will increase.

what is your opinion about this?

I think your scenario has a great deal of hurdles, but maybe in 10-15 years it could possibly be reality, although I myself doubt it. However, surely your scenario would cause a massive price increase which would likely act as a feedback loop. I don’t see any way so many people could be using BTC unless the price were well into the millions per coin.

Looks like the financial markets aren’t happy about the latest jobs report. The strong hiring numbers have taken some wind out of the sails of investors as it is evidence that the fed may still have some room left to tighten monetary policy, which will strengthen the dollar and send equity values downward. Amazing how good news is bad news in this new post 9/11 economy.
2844  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin maximum price on: July 05, 2023, 05:25:23 PM
Just pulling a number out of thin air, I’d say we’ll see a maximum price of $48K. Nothing really to base that on and if mtgox does it’s distribution before the end of the year then that will be a tricky price target to hit. I wouldn’t worry so much about the price this year though. It’s the price in 2 years you should be eyeballing.
2845  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Minimum Age to gamble on: July 05, 2023, 05:23:16 PM
I grew up in California and always thought the gambling age was 18. I’m a bit surprised to learn that in most of the country it is 21. I guess that makes sense with all the drinks flowing in Vegas. Still, a bit surprising to think that you can go to war and die for this country to fight for freedom, but can’t put a penny in a slot machine.
2846  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: who Want To Bet On 2024 USA elections? on: July 05, 2023, 05:21:03 PM
I’d like to bet on the election but not until the primaries have been settled. I have my doubts as to whether or not Joe Biden will be healthy enough to truly run for President again so without know for sure who the candidates are, I’ll have to refrain. I do hope that Stake will offer this bet when the times comes as it is fun to bet on elections.
2847  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Virtual bug? on: July 05, 2023, 05:19:09 PM
I work for a casino house a couple of years ago - I could make a serial reference since it's been said in most of my post here.
Alright,?? Cashiers were assigned to manage the activities and book on desired games for all validated customers, but i normally noticed something very displeasing - sometimes, I felt bad for any gambler that lost in that same way and It looked to me like a kinda "money heist" program.
Here is it; A gambler could bet on correct scores - mind you, this all happens only in Virtual games - let's say, 3-0 and, since the games are being displayed on screens for them to confirm Thier winnings, it could even happen that the game stops at the 82nd minute, maybe with a 2-0 score, but once it rules out and updates the scores on the score sheets,.what we all see is 2-5...
Now the question is, how can 5 goals from the away teams be scored in barely a time to blink?? Could that have supposed to mean something different? Maybe a bug? Or is it some sort of misprogramming?

Sandra 🧑‍🦰

My honest answer is that I have absolutely no idea. This is one reason why I wouldn’t engage in this sort of gambling. Being unable to prove that a game is fair is enough, but when you start seeing behavior that I would categorize as suspect, I think it’s probably time to move on and find a new game at a new casino to play.
2848  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gender in Gambling [differences between Women and Men in Gambling] on: July 05, 2023, 05:17:11 PM
I don’t know how exactly this data was collected so I can’t be too dismissive of it, but I tend to think that there probably isn’t such a big difference between men and women when it comes to gambling. Sure, I’ve heard Men have more addictive personalities, but when it comes to gambling styles I would hesitate to base things on sex.

The new rule started to be applied in the NBA summer league.
The first flopping penalty was given to the Golden State Warriors in the Sacramento Kings vs Golden State Warriors game played last night.

You can watch from the link below.

Very interesting to see this. I’m sure it’ll be called plenty in the upcoming season. I am a little surprised that the flop call was on a 3-point shot like that. I would have expected it to be a drive or a screen. I also wasn’t aware this was going from a fine to a technical, but I guess it makes sense given how much month these guys are making now.

Feels like the market is just relaxing and taking in the latest run. I expect when traders return from vacation we’ll see the next leg upward. I still can’t help but think about mtgox but I’m excited for once the horizon shifts from that dispersal to the ETFs and halving. The next couple years is shaping up perfectly for a wild ride.

San Antonio can be a good place for an old Damian Lillard, when the number 1 draft diamond boy learning from him. The only thing that prevent this to happen its San Antonio never had a star player on hiw file, and yes tim duncan parker ginobili were stars but they are formed in San Antonio.
And DL its more individual player than collective.

That would be a lot of fun to see those two play together, but I do t think I see Lillard wanting to go there. Sure they got Greg Popavich who’s an absolutely legendary coach whom is revered by players, but I think it’s going to take more than one sensational (potentially) rookie for them to win a championship.

I would expect him to go to a little bit more mature of a team. But he’s also not a free agent so thats obviously going to hurt his shot at going yo the teams he really wants to.

I thought it was very weird that he made any comment about San Antonio whatsoever. I don’t think that’s the place that Damian Lillard is going to win a ring. I don’t think he will in Miami either but at least he has a good shot. In my opinion, the Lakers, Nuggets & Celtics (maybe the Suns) are still better than everyone else.

Timberwolves agree to 5-year extension with Anthony Edwards
https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/37953985/timberwolves-agree-5-year-extension-anthony-edwards
Quote
Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star guard Anthony Edwards has agreed to a five-year designated rookie maximum contract extension that could become worth $260 million, his agents, Bill Duffy and Joe Branch with WME Sports, told ESPN on Monday

Damn, that's high.
Well, he is worth it and really deserves the amount. Healthy kid, very agile, aggressive, can shoot, can dribble, high flyer, good defender, and he is the new face of their franchise instead of KAT.
From play-in tournament to entering the playoffs as number 8 to face the Denver Nuggets and busted in Game 5. It sure was a rough road for them but next year should be better. They should try avoiding locker room problems especially that Gobert versus Anderson fight. The higher their chemistry is, the better the team they could create.
Perhaps they should now give the leadership to the Ant-Man too and maybe they will be a better team with him leading the way. They actually have a strong roster, they just need that chemistry working out.

Ya… Definitely a big price tag but I think he’s more worthy of it than Lonzo Ball. The Timberwolves have been benefitting from Ant’s low salary for a while but that time is over now. He’s going to go from being the best deal on the league to getting a quarter billion. I’m still in shock at the numbers being thrown around now.

Back above $31K for the American holiday. I’ll take it. As if we needed another reason to celebrate. It sure feels like everything with Bitcoin continues to be on track for an explosive 2025. I’m not sure if people are ready for what could possibly happen, but I’m already starting to feel the fomo and wish I had stacked more sats at $20K.

I predict we will be at $43,632 when the halving occurs. This marks a pretty huge percentage increase from where we are, but it is also somewhat important to say I believe that price will mark a short term high and the price will drop afterwards, maybe retesting where we are now before making its big run in 2025, which I believe will take us north of $200,000.

Dame’s path to Miami is starting to look a little cloudy. The Portland Trailblazers have come out now and said that they’re open to hearing from any team in the league about trading Damian Lillard. They initially seemed to be willing to do whatever it took to get Dame where he wanted to go, but when it came time to sign the dotted line their tune started to change.

It's all a pony show.  They need to say that so that if Miami really wants Dame they want to ring up the price for him.  If they just come out and say we are dealing him to Miami they lose any leverage.  Whether or not he lands there is still up for debate based on the package they get back.  Portland isn't just gonna give him away for anything.

Ya, but there’s also perception around the league. They aren’t going to get fair value back no matter what, but it is a chance to show their loyalty to a longtime player who is viewed as the most loyal in the league. That could be good for free agent signings.

How about Desmond Bane getting over 200 million dollars out of the Grizzlies? Gotta be the worst signing so far.

Biggest bag yet in free agency looks like it’s going to go to LaMelo Ball. The youngest of the Ball brothers is said to be on the verge of signing a five year deal worth more than a quarter of a billion dollars. That young man is about to be one wealthy kid. If he can actually live up to this contract I can see him becoming a billionaire by the age of 30.

Westbrook signing with the Clippers for 2 years and 8 million is nuts. He surely could’ve gotten double that and maybe triple somewhere else. I think he took his stint with the Lakers personally and now he just wants to help the Clippers be the top dog in Los Angeles. With this deal the Clippers should be able to go after another big free agent.
2860  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 01, 2023, 07:44:29 PM
Looks like the Lakers are on a resigning spree as they have just announced that Austin Reeves has been signed to a 4-year deal for over 50 million dollars. If that’s correct, then I think the Lakers did a pretty good job of keeping the guys they should keep and at low enough contract rates for them to possibly be able to make some moves next year.
