Bitmain, why are the coupons different amounts to different people?

Its to do with the batches and inter-batches having different prices and shipping dates.

Plus look at that constant 2500 watt power load, you would be hard pressed to even run this thing on a home outlet.

Do remember that the US has unusually bad circuits.

Dogie, an ignorant statement like that, makes me wonder the level of knowledge you are relaying through your numerous (paid via amazon associate tag) reviews. As an electrical engineer having lived in the U.K, Australia and the U.S, I can say the worst electrical circuits and standards are by far in the U.K. Australia follows close behind with some of the best located in the U.S. I'm not saying the U.S excels overall, and I can name many areas they could improve on, following international standards for example, yet when it comes to residential and commercial circuits, the U.S cabling has a higher over rating than others by far.

Are you.... are you honestly trying to argue that the USA's
110V 20A (16A 24/7) =  1760W
is better than the UK's
240V 32A (36A 24/7) = 8640W
for bitcoin mining?
and that equals a bad circuit? No just different designs.
So basically because the USA uses 120 vs UK's 240 it has bad circuits?
The more shit I read from you just confirms it's just shit.
anyone competent or with a big enough wallet can easily rectify their electric situation in the USA.

My original comment [2 months ago] was in reply to a user saying that 2500W was not possible to run at home. I replied, mentioning that the US isn't the only county in the world and not everyone in the world has 110V 20A [16A] circuits. Ie, plenty of people could still run 2500W at home. I'm also not seeing how you can argue that

110V 20A (16A 24/7) = 1760W isn't worse than
240V 32A (36A 24/7) = 8640W

Can you take some pictures for me please?

Furthermore, try posting Theymos' dox and see what happens.
I'm pretty sure we all know who Theymos is, its been mentioned many, many times.
You're missing the point, dude, but thank you for your useless post.

I know what you're saying, I'm not arguing for or against you - I was just correcting an error for others who may not be aware.

3 week necro OP

Getting tired of his views on every product under the sun.
Then don't click on my threads? But you've already ignored and blocked me right Roll Eyes

Particularly those who actually make hardware
Like WASP?

unless they are OFFICIAL from the fabricator.
There are only 5 'official' product threads and all of them are Bitmain. What about the other 34 products?

I can't believe you're still this mad because I wouldn't join WASP.
2947  Other / Meta / Re: Replacing DefaultTrust on: January 05, 2015, 05:01:44 PM
What happens with the other side of the abuse, such as BFL's trust competition abuse? A modern day version would be one person making multiple smurfs and hammering people they don't like using many accounts. Now unless someone more powerful comes in and red's all those accounts, it hurt's that user's rating inappropriately.

I also echo the messages that these core members will simply get stronger and stronger ratings and its virtually impossible for anyone to ever catch up with them or replace one of them. I don't have a solution, I'm just not sure if its a good thing.

Hi everyone! And a happy new year:)

I bought this device and actually iam not really satisfied with its work.
The problem is that it's hash rate on controller be and pool differs very much.
This way iam loosing up to 30% of hash rate.
For example be speed first week - 3-3,2th, pool speed 2,7-2,9.
And last two days the device productivity dropped to 1,7-1,9 th - pool speed,
Be - Device speed 2,4-2,6.
All boards work and chips have no power downs.
Environment is good temperature (about 15 Celsius degrees) and power is enough.
What can be the solution for my problem?
Thanks for your help

What pool are you on?
Hi!

Iam on btcguild.

Contacted manufacturer representative in Russia

Can you provide a screenshot of the stats page and on pool please?

Sorry dude not imeediate answer due to busy days:)
Of course, here are some screenshots - 3 pairs of pics taken at different time

And also one detail: while surfing in this problem solution found on the overclock forum topic started by an employee of xbtec - Betty , announcing about their new product. I wrote in the topic about my troubles and was quite surprised when checked back in few days that the topic was erased and no answer for me.

Hmm Huh Undecided

Sorry, nothing I can particularly see wrong to help with. You could try on a different pool [ghash] or with a lower difficulty to see if that smooths anything out.

is this unit more louder then SP20?

Its subjective but I believe both out the box the SP20 is 'louder' due to the quality of the noise. S5 is loud, but its moving air + a moderate whine noise - identical an S4. Stock SP20 noise is unique, I can't really compare it to anything else.

Antminer S4 warranty request 05.januar.2015

My S4 constantly overheats and stop hashing.
I opened it and one fan is broken.

S4s are quite overcooled at normal ambients, you can swap out the front two fans with two Corsair SP120s's. [Affiliate link] [Non affiliate link]. In your case, swap one of the working front fans with the broken rear and add an SP120 in. I've done exactly that change as it also reduces noise levels with very similar cooling levels. In a layout like this, the rear fans are doing almost all of the work.

Just tried to order two with BTC to the US.  Couldn't!  Appears to require I enter a mobile phone number, something I neither have nor need/want.  What is this shit?

Phone numbers are required for the courier / customs, nothing else.

My two S5 will arrive on Wednesday so I was thinking as using my one "Cooler Master Silent Pro 1200W Gold PSU" for both. Will that work? Also whats the difference between Gold & Bronze i.e. which one draws less power?

Its not an amazing power supply, but it should do the job for now. Gold, silver, bronze, plat etc are efficiency standards that the PSU meets.

i have my radiator in the window with it cracked open a lil, there is snow on the ground.... and yet i get these temps..
i have a 1000 w evga g1 psu powering it.
the #'s before the oooooo are the temps.. something seems really wrong here. i filled it with some chillblast code blood coolant or something like that, do i need something different?Huh in the summer its gonna be hot as *&%*&

Coolant wont make a difference, are you sure your pump is running? To where and how is it plugged in?

Info from companies house, this just means a company exists, it doesn't mean he has a connection to this company or this company isn't a scam.

Odd.  I ssh'd into the C1 some time back and changed the root password using the unix command passwd, logged out and logged back in using the new password.  Today I went to log in and the password had reverted to admin while the GUI was still connected and unchanged.

Reported to engineers, thanks

I have been speaking to Yoshi about S4 issues but wanted to get an opinion here since I imagine he is not working on weekends.

One of my units is being shipped back because something burnt. It also had an issue with Fan#2 which is what I posted about earlier.

Looking at my second unit I noticed that Fan#2 in this unit only runs at 240 RPM and the others are about 4000. What caught my attention is other screenshots showing fan speeds and Asic chain temps that are close.

My temps are

chain 1 60
chain 2 48
chain 3 60
chain 4 51

Both of my units have been like this since they arrived. It seems odd to me that both units behave the same way. Anyone else having similar issues? Is there a Fan#2 issue?
BTW - temp in the hashing room is 22C.

Chain 2s for *some reason* are cooler than the rest, its likely just due to its positioning in the case, and so the corresponding fan runs slower. It is nothing to worry about,
2956  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Power Supplies and Current Miners: Starting a Reference List on: January 04, 2015, 05:37:11 PM
I do not think the cx750m will safely power an s-5 running above freq 325. but I am not sure.  it only has 2 cables each with  2 plugs.

so you are asking the cable to do 300 watts if you do  freq 350.   So I guess the best way to know has anyone run a cx750m with 2 s-3's set at freq 225  that would be 1 cable for each s-3 using the 2 plugs one in each board.  two s-3's at freq 225 pull about 720 watts  so if you can do that the cx750m could certainly run 1 s-5.

The 750 will, I've got one on it now. They're exceptionally solid little things, even if it is 18AWG. Please don't quote his OP content though, even if he updates it now, you're fragment will remain in the quote.

10% discount has been offered to Second Hand S4, 0.3465$/Gh and shipping out within a week after full payment Smiley

Expensive :p Though, it could potentially underclock to get really good efficiency. I really like the S4, but it's heavy, add in the shipping.. OMG... Not at the current BTC prices.

Are you guys releasing a new firmware for S4 that will support minerlink?

Potentially, yes.
2959  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 Discussion and Support Thread on: January 04, 2015, 02:33:18 PM
I apologize if this topic has already been covered in this thread.

I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for Replacement fans in an Antminer S4.

If you could link me to a proper replacement I would sure appreciate it.

With any sort of ambient temp, you're going to need to leave the two rear fans as default. You can replace the front two fans with two Corsair SP120s's. [Affiliate link] [Non affiliate link]
2960  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER C1 Discussion and Support Thread on: January 04, 2015, 02:24:36 PM
I am not sure if I didn't missed something, but did anyone do a real OC? I mean OVER 275MHz?

Really wouldn't recommend it. Even if the chips can make it up there, you don't know about the other components on the board (which also aren't watercooled).
