All I know is that BitFury is going to have 0.2W/GH miners online pretty darn soon, contradicting their statement.

Who do you think knows more about the status of those magical chips - the people who would make them or..... [with all due respect].... you?
2082  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: You can now order S5 on Bitmaintech on: March 09, 2015, 09:55:49 PM

If the history repeats itself then yes but can't be 100% certain they will.

AM had a great history of timing as well.

Now is it possible that bitfury will just add 350ph in the next 30 days

With what chips Roll Eyes

Is it Bitfury that is being referred to in BitmainTech's facebook post, yes or no?

If you don't know or can't say, don't allude.

You can wait until its official but you can do the math. Company spends 9 months developing a game breaking chip. They develop it and get test results. Company employs a PR agency, yet the only news we get is a coindesk article mentioning it can do 0.2W/GH. What can also do ~0.2W/GH? Bitmain's chip, ASICMiner's chip. And as with both of those two, just because you can doesn't mean you can afford to [run chips that slow].

Can we migrate back to the S5 thread, we're overlapping almost entirely now: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=902305.0

Most people would call that "lying". Others might call it lieing, but that's because they spell poorly.

While I can't vouch for the authenticity of that listing, there was an unofficial S3++. It was one of the many revisions to S3/S3+ but didn't come with a name change.

Once BitFury unleashes their miners with their 0.2W/GH efficiency chips, difficulty will go through the roof.

They need chips to do that. And they also need 0.2W/GH viable chips in the first place.

If I order 4 C1 now, in how many days I will get the device in Italy?

Approximately 4 working days as long as it goes through customs well.

I am in Italy, what do you think could go wrong?
Do you think I will have to pay extra for the custom?

Thanks,
ilpirata79

You will have to pay import duties, as you would on any goods you purchase outside the EU.

As an average as you stated dogie, I should be watching the daily hash on my pool and miner settings and now worry about the 5s and 30m, 10m on the pool?

I seem to be getting consistent payout, i guess that is all that matters.

Yes look at the longer averages which for you are fine.

What is being auctioned? Why?
Non intrusive ad space in my setup guides is being publicly auctioned. I work for the community full time and am not funded by the community. Donations have not exceeded $100 in total this year and so I have to find a way to keep the guides sustainable and FREE for the average consumer. Selling ad space is one such trial.

Ad Format

  • Leaderboard style (728x90px), static images (jpg, gif, png), non annoying colors.
  • Ads may not misrepresent, lie, be inappropriate, be (or link to) NSFW content. I reserve the right to reject ads for other reasons or remove ads even after they have been accepted.

  • There are 5 ad slots for sale. One slot will be placed after sections 2, 4 and 6 in all the guides listed at the bottom of the post.
  • I will randomise which ad is placed in which slot on each guide so each slot receives the same impressions.
  • The ads last at least 10 days starting from when they are put up. Traffic is expected to be 14,000 impressions per slot over the period.
  • This traffic is exceptionally targeted to the hardware subforum, and more specifically to those who have either bought or are looking to buy miners.

Auction Format

  • Auction will run for approximately 10 days, to end at midnight London time / 4PM PST / 7PM EST on Saturday 14th March.
  • Post your bids in this thread. Prices must be stated in BTC per slot. You must state the max number of slots you want.
  • The notation "2 @ 0.20" means 2 slots for BTC 0.20 each. Not 2 slots for 0.20 BTC total.
  • If two people bid at the same price, the person who bid first will have his slots filled first.
  • Bidding starts at BTC 0.20. All bid prices must be evenly divisible by BTC 0.05.

I reserve the right to reject bids, even days after the bid is made. In particular, bids from people with less than 15 activity points are likely to be rejected. I recommend not getting into a bidding war with someone who has less than 15 activity points, as their bids might not be accepted, but your latest bids will still stand. If you need to know right away whether someone's bids will be accepted, PM me.

You must pay for your slots within 24 hours of receiving the payment address otherwise your slots may be sold to someone else. I will send you the payment information via forum PM from this account ("dogie", user ID 87869). You might receive false payment information from scammers pretending to be me. They might even have somewhat similar usernames. Be careful.

Taxes
There is only tax due to EU and UK bidders, and there is no additional cost to anyone (apart from me). Just clarifying to making sure its a level playing field while also collecting any legally required taxes.

US and rest of world   - bid as normal, no VAT.
Non VAT registered UK          - bid as normal, I will pay 20% VAT and take the hit.
Non VAT registered EU          - bid as normal, I will pay your VAT and take the hit.
VAT registered UK businesses - will be invoiced an additional 20% VAT on bid prices.
VAT registered EU businesses - bid as normal, please let me know your VAT registration number.

tldr for getting started:
  • Starting bid is BTC 0.20 per slot, bid increment is BTC 0.05.

I've been trying to find an explanation as to how to read the cgminer screen that I posted and what values I'm supposed to be shooting for. This setting is the most stable (HW at .0003%), which is good, I think and not over .02 which is bad? Utility is miner efficiency? According to various articles i foung on google (they were all GPU based machines) utility needs to be high. On slush's pool its 20, antPool is what you see.

I guess what I'm really asking about is if my screen looks good and where do i need to make improvements?

The only 2 critical values are the hash rate shown on your S5's page and the hash rate reported by your pool (as an average). Everything else is surplus to what you need to monitor in regards to your income.

Funny thing is, CITM doesn't show up in my trust network due to people in my trust list excluding him being > the people who include him.

Is that done on quantity or collective power of those people?

No Phill...It is the BLACK chip in the middle of the board ...marked "LM75" ...OK... Huh

Hope this helps...

Cheers,

ZiG

I have marked the LM75 (TEMPERATURE Sensor) Chip in the following pic. Just stick a small heatsink on top of the sensors, one on each hashing board.
Link to heatsink on ebay.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/8pcs-Aluminum-Heatsink-With-3M-Tape-For-Computer-VGA-Xbox360-DDR-RAM-IC-Cooler/321275002402?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D28901%26meid%3D0bae1b1c5ed540069fdf169527fadb30%26pid%3D100011%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D10%26sd%3D321649159708

Sorry for bringing this up, but installing a heatsink on that sensor wouldn't that give false temp readings? Don't you want  the real temp reading, or trying to keep the temp sensor cooler is a good thing?

Yes it would give false temp readings. They wanted to falsify lower temp readings in order to trick the fan into spinning slower (quieter). There is no benefit to the sensor itself.

2098  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: 1155GH(+OverClock Potential), In Stock $0.25/GH & 0.51W/GH on: March 07, 2015, 08:39:03 PM
This is real simple, you don't even need a calculator for it.
From what I've seen, an S5 will draw about 650W at the wall at 375M (estimated on the high side).
So 0.65KW x 24h = 15.60 KWh

Can someone do me some simple math today please?

I need to know approximate how many kwh per day that an S5 will consume based on a frequency of 375. Assume a constant ambient temp and I get about 1.2 TH. Please let me know how you did this calculation.

This just has to be rough and dirty. I'm exploring designing a small hobby farm.

Thank you.

That's exactly correct. The general form is:

power consumption (in KW) * time (in hours) = kwh
2099  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: SP10 fan mods? on: March 07, 2015, 07:14:18 PM
There is an absolutely dirty, dirty mod that I prepared but never attempted. Remove the entire thing from its case and lay the hashing boards out flat (ON SOMETHING NON CONDUCTIVE!) and slightly raised. Get box fans and rest them on the hashing boards.

You're still going to be wrecked by the PSU's fan noise though, which is the main problem on SP10s.

Just ordered the mother of all usb hubs, if they don't work with this then the hub ain't the problem:

It seems to be blowing its own trumpet a bit:
