Giuseppe Marotta from Inter Milan said they are close to signing the contract with Benjamin Pavard and hiring this French player from Bayern Munich soon because Benjamin Pavard is a player who doesn't want to stay in Bayern Munich however he also had some offer from Manchester United but Bayern Munich didn't accept to release this player and now they er is the chance for Benjamin Pavard to leave Bayern Munich for Inter Milan.

Damn this photo  Shocked Am I the only one who thinks that the photo looks like it was generated by a neural network, and the source was Hector Salamanca and Hank Schroeder from Breaking Bad?  Grin I don't understand why I see the facial features of both characters in him.
As for the transfer, most likely it will take place, since the positions of the clubs are close - Inter offers 35 million, and Bayern wants 40. The question is who will replace him - there is not much time before the closing of the transfer window.

It was a pretty bad result for Chelsea.  Sad  I thought this would be their first win of the season but they got a big loss. Even after West Ham got a red card they still scored another goal against Chelsea. When you look at the statistics of the game Chelsea seem very superior to their opponent. But the result doesn't say the same thing.

Maybe the turning point of the game was the penalty missed by Enzo Fernandez. Because if he scored the penalty Chelsea were going to get 2-1 ahead. After capturing the psychological superiority too they could have won this game.

Every game has a missed chance that could have been a turning point, but Chelsea lost the whole game, they had time to turn things around and take at least a point, but instead they conceded the third goal.
Now Luton, Nottingham and Bournemouth are waiting ahead of them - these are frankly weak rivals, so Pochetino is lucky to some extent, because if the rivals were stronger, then talk of resignation would have already begun. Although if Chelsea does not take at least 7 points in these games, I am sure such conversations will begin.
2963  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: August 20, 2023, 09:29:01 PM
PSG surprised me, they held the ball throughout the game and got a lot more chances. But unfortunately they were not successful in scoring goals. They lost points in this match as they conceded a penalty goal in the last minutes.
I think it's quite surprising because I expected psg to continue this season without losing points for a long time. Now they have lost 4 points in the second week. I am very curious about their performance in the rest of the season

Bad start PSG, but it's funny that in the first game where Mbappe was not at all, PSG scored 0 goals, in the second game where Mbappe played less than half, one goal was already scored. Interestingly, in the next game he will be released from the start? After all, if PSG continue shiting to Mbappe, it looks like they can even fail in Ligue 1.

2965  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: August 20, 2023, 09:05:45 PM
Barcelona were of course the dominant side against Cadiz but they struggled to open the score gap more for a long time. If it weren't for the second goal came then maybe Cadiz would have even found a shocking goal unexpectedly. By the way Lewandowski couldn't score any goal yet so I hope he adapts to new season quickly.
~

Pretty sad football from Barcelona and although they won, I think that tomorrow, when the quotes for the title in La Liga are updated, Barcelona's chances will become even a little lower.
By the way, an anomalous amount of time was added again - 15 minutes (including the first half). It annoys me, I do not see anything logical here.
2966  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: August 20, 2023, 09:00:38 PM
Yeah people should think twice about betting on Roma since their results are quite random. A really nice start for Mourinho boys in Serie A, a promising season they will have apparently after a draw vs Salernitana..
~

Do you think this will be exactly that third season when the results fall, Mourinho quarrels with the team and changes the club in the end?  Cheesy In my opinion, it is too early to draw conclusions.

By the way, despite the fact that Lazio and Roma lost points, the situation for the main teams is too good ... for Serie A, this is not normal. So Milan have no chance tomorrow - they will either draw or lose  Grin

Well, I said I was going to win this pool but I wasn't expecting the early lead, courtesy a well-timed 4 points from Freiburg's victory. I thought more people would back them, glad few did =)

Still getting used to the scoring system here but looks a lot higher than what am normally used to.

Pretty surprising because the favorites played +- well, but you usually win rounds dominated by underdogs  Wink Have you changed your forecasting system?

Probably the one who was attracted by 3 points for a draw and added these outcomes to the forecast is now very angry - only one draw out of 9 games  Grin
2968  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Collective bets in local lotteries on: August 20, 2023, 05:53:13 PM
It seems to me that lotteries still exist only because participation in them has become something like a tradition. In today's fast-paced world, it would never occur to anyone normal to buy a lottery ticket and then wait several weeks for the draw. I think that over time (when modern young people take the place of modern older people), lotteries will finally go into their narrow niche.
On the past lotteries were a form of tax, so if the local government wanted to build a new road and they did not had the money then they will organize a lottery, people bought tickets not only because of the possibility of changing their lives but also to support the construction of this new road that will benefit them, and even if most countries still have their national lotteries and the money is used to fund some projects this idea of supporting your community has been lost, meaning that sooner or later people will realize how bad the lottery is and if they want to gamble they may as well consider other options.

In my country there were even more interesting "lotteries" - for example, government bonds where the lucky ones could also get a serious increase in the amount they contributed. But in the end it ended with the fact that all the bonds were frozen and no one received anything  Grin Therefore, in my country, everything that has the prefix "state" is associated with scam. And by the way, now lotteries are held by private companies, but the license is issued to them by the state and it seems that something like 50% of the fees also goes to the state fund. In short, the lottery is a scam anyway (in my country).
2969  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CHESS] FIDE Candidates Chess Tournament 2022 on: August 20, 2023, 05:47:21 PM
A victory over Ivanchuk was expected since Ivanchuk has already left big chess and plays for pleasure, but he was once considered a real competitor to Kasparov and a contender for the crown.

I do not think that the victory against Ivanchuk is not expected. Imagine, he has been playing competitively at his age and he also defeated some super GMs in some tournaments. While he is definitely not in his prime, saying that a victory against him was "expected" somehow invalidates his chess prowess.
~

Magnus is (so far) the favorite against any chess player. At the moment, Magnus is number 1 in the FIDE rating, and Ivanchuk is 66th. The difference in ratings is 163 points, which implies an 80% chance that Magnus will win, and given that this is not a separate game, the chances are close to 99%. It's just math, no disrespect.
2970  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who is to be blamed, the gambler or the betting agent on: August 20, 2023, 05:36:53 PM
Sometimes most of those sporty bet shops normally allow there customers to play free bet and pay later to again there interest. But I think this time, this did not go the way he planned it. Gamblers that know that they don't have the fund to pay for bet should better stay off gambling than taking the risk to bet on credit and pay later. When a gambler accumulated so much credit when they bet and later loses, this could make them to be on the run for a long time before they are seen especially when they don't have the money to pay for the credit bets.

It seems to me that adequate betting shops that allow their regular customers to bet on credit are well aware that there is a possibility that the debt will not be returned. But given the fact that this is their regular client, they take this risk because they have already earned enough on it, and if the negative scenario is realized, then their loss will not be large. Plus they don't let you make big bets on credit. But I assume this in relation to adequate betting shops. In this case, everything was inadequate.
2971  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling by financial dependents. on: August 20, 2023, 05:29:03 PM
A family member reported to me that her eighteen years old son has started gambling. She is not worried that he is gaming but her problem is that he is a student that solely depends on her for everything he needs. Her fear is also that her son might start stealing from her if he has no access to the money he needs to gamble. My relative has even started suspecting that some money she feels was misplaced might have been stolen by her son.

I spoke to my nephew and he told me that he has never stolen from his mother to gamble. And he gambles with only his savings from his weekly stipend he receives from the family. And he won't gamble if he has no savings to do that. From my observation, he is a responsible gambler that is just enjoying the game and making a little money occasionally. The gambling age in my country is 18+, but his mother is insisting that he must stop. What will be your advice for this young boy?

I would advise this young man to spend on entertainment the money that he earned himself. In my opinion, there is no problem that he was interested in gambling, it could be something else (sex, travel or whatever) everything costs money. But it's one thing to spend easy money, and another to spend your hard earned money. If he started working on his own, perhaps he would think more about how to increase his income and not about how to spend it. And thus many optional entertainments would become less interesting to him.
2972  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympic Games, but doping is allowed?! on: August 20, 2023, 05:24:49 PM
There's a lot of sports event globally that being performed every year and some of them coincide with the Olympic. This is not a general concern anymore since Olympic is already established as the most prestigious sports event in the world. There's already Paralympic games as a version of Olympic games for person with disabilities.

I don't see any problem on establishing different sports event that is unique to Olympics.

I'm sure it's not. If I'm not mistaken, the rating of the Olympic Games is falling every year and fewer people are watching them. In many sports, the audience probably generally consists of the athletes themselves and their relatives  Grin The Olympic Committee is trying to change this trend by introducing new sports like snowboarding and the like, but it seems to me that 90% of young people don't give a damn about the Olympics.
2973  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: August 19, 2023, 08:45:55 PM
And Napoli already won their game with a superb performance of Osimehn scoring 2 goals.

Remember he is the target of many top clubs he still have time for leaving them.

Taking into account the fact that Osimhen recently extended the contract and, under its terms, the release clause of 150 million will be updated only from 2024, Napoli will definitely not agree to the transfer. Yes, and Osimhen himself clearly does not want to leave the club (at least this summer), he clearly wants to consolidate himself in the position of a top striker and only then look for a top option. Pretty reasonable if so.
2974  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: August 19, 2023, 08:35:28 PM
Indeed Real Madrid were very impressive today as they overpowered Almeria to a 1:3 winning settling for a 1:1 draw in the first half. Talking about their performance in the game, Real Madrid dominated from the beginning of the game until the final whistle they made sure they left no stone unturned as they scored two Great goals in the second half to give the home team a very humiliating defeat hopefully they are starting to play like the Madrid that we used to know and I think they are back on their feet this season even though they are yet to play a stronger opponent since the beginning of the season.

The battle for who wins the La Liga this season lies between Real Madrid, Barcelona and ATM but I think it is too early to judge their performance right now until we have seen them maintain a winning sleak of 10 games.

It's funny that if you take the statistics, then the dominance of Real Madrid is not visible:
Shots 20-24
Shots on target 8-9
Corner 4-5
Ball possession 43%-57%
Real won due to the class of players that is obviously higher than that of Almeria. And I think that Real had a margin of safety - if necessary, they could add, but in general it turned out to be an easy victory.
As for the prospects, it is already possible to judge a lot by the start of the season, and for example, bookmakers have sharply increased Real Madrid's quotes (Atletico are generally out of the game).
2975  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: August 19, 2023, 08:24:19 PM
Haaland is far more than an additional striking strength. When Haaland plays the other team has to dedicate defensive capabilities to stop him, which impacts the team as a whole. Having a really strong striker within your line-up is more impactful than just having this striker. An opponent is forced to think about it and come up with a match plan that includes this striker of course.

But the discussion whether De Bruyne is more important or Haaland, I think that also depends. There will be days when Haaland scores that one goal needed for the win and there have been days when De Bruyne scored it, like against Real Madrid in the Champions League. But one thing is for sure and that is De Bruyne's injury is among the worst issues that Manchester City could now have.

I'm not sure if this works with City this way, although for many other teams it would be 100% true. It seems to me that City are more dangerous with ball control + pressing than those who play in their attack. I think that the very idea of personal guardianship of individual players has long been outdated and no one uses it - everyone plays zone control. It doesn't matter if Haaland is in the line-up in separate City games or not, the opponent will play his own game formation.
2976  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: August 19, 2023, 08:11:33 PM
I keep saying it and I will keep saying in all the time, for PSG there should be just two options, either Mbappe signs a new deal that is a lot more years and not ends this summer, or they should simply end up with benching him all year long and not make him play in a single game. If he doesn't sign the contract, then he should be sold, and if disagrees and doesn't want to talk with any team, then he should be just benched.

You can't just play him and expect the player to respect you, if he is ruining you financially, then ruin him back. Sure he would be able to get to another team anyway if you do not play him, but no player that sits out for 1+ year would be ready to play that easily, it will take a long time for him to adjust, and he would not be making as much money as he would otherwise.

You are crazy, no offense  Cheesy
Mbappe and PSG are not at war. Mbappe fulfills the terms of the contract that was voluntarily signed by both parties. On what basis should they shit Mbappe? Plus, this will lead to nothing except that PSG will lose its image (and possibly sponsorship contracts), and Mbappe will quietly receive his millions sitting on the bench.
2977  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: August 19, 2023, 07:57:56 PM
Without Harry Kane, Tottenham performed as well as it did. We thought after harry kane left the team, Tottenham will be weaker. Their offensive performance will be slow. But we haven't seen that yet. Tottenham performed very well in both the matches. If Tottenham's defenders could have played well against Brentford, then Tottenham would have won this match as well.

In today's match, Tottenham's performance was better than Manchester United's. Son, Sarr, Maddison, and Kulusevski all performed very well. Besides, their goalkeeper Vicario made some excellent saves in this match. However, Richarlison's performance was not good in this match either. If Richarlison plays well, the overall performance of this team will improve.

Although I'm a United fan, I'm not too upset about the defeat. Firstly, I expected that United would hardly stay in the top three (and even four) at the end of the season. Now, if we discard the refereeing error, United should have only one point. Secondly, Ten Hag annoys me. Last season he blamed Ronaldo for everything, and now it will be very interesting to see what new reasons he will find to justify poor results.
2978  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 19, 2023, 01:45:34 PM

Mbappe has already lost some of his golden years at PSG, but he is still young and he can turn things around. In addition, he already has an amount of money that is difficult to count, and in general he has everything except satisfying his ambitions. Mbappe looks much more focused on football than Neymar and I don't fear for his career in that sense.

I guess I would agree with everything you said but I would like to add one thing that I believe could come into play when you talk about the amount of money that Mbappe has.

The clubs from the SPL are entering new spheres all the time, which means that a player who says "ok, I now have 200 million in my account, I will decline any offer as I am rich enough and will only pursue my career". Then the sheikhs pass by and say "you got 200 million in your account, we'll make it a billion". So these offers are not about doubling the wealth, but they are about changing life once again even for people who couldn't supposedly have been any luckier in their lives. When he got a billion and the contract expires, the sheikh might say "I am going to turn your billion into 5 billion if you sign a life-long contract with us. No? What about 10 billion?".

It is so weird what they are doing financially that I would not be 100% certain that Mbappe would decline every offer that is catered to him.

Yes, the sheikhs bring some element of madness into football and it is almost impossible to predict (with reliable accuracy) what will happen. As the saying goes, if a person cannot be bought with money, then he can be bought with big money  Grin
In general, the modern world is like this (rather strange) - you can work all your life and not earn anything, and someone who shoots a couple of successful tik-toks will fall into a trend and become a millionaire in a very short time. Therefore, the crazy money that football players receive now is more or less logical - after all, they give their whole lives to football (maybe except for Neymar, haha) and are not just lucky.
2979  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CHESS] FIDE Candidates Chess Tournament 2022 on: August 19, 2023, 01:34:32 PM
What are your thoughts on the recent matches on the FIDE World Chess Cup 2023?

I watched the game between Ivanchuk vs Magnus and Magnus won with a score of 2-0 against the legend himself.

During their first game, Magnus was able to grind down the game during the middle game leaving that e6 pawn too strong for Vasyl to hold. On their second game yesterday, Magnus, with the black pieces, managed to get a drawing position (which he believed that he could grind it for a win) which prompted Vasyl to resign.

Fabi was also able to win against Duda and the former mentioned in an interview that the lines he played was inspired from his preparation against Magnus since their match on the 2018 WCC.

Who do you think will win for this year's FIDE World Chess Cup 2023?

A victory over Ivanchuk was expected since Ivanchuk has already left big chess and plays for pleasure, but he was once considered a real competitor to Kasparov and a contender for the crown.
I don't think that Abasov will be a problem for Carlsen, I'm more interested in the second pair - I hope Pragnanadhi wins. Caruana is also a player of the past, I want to see how the new generation replaces the previous one.
2980  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: August 19, 2023, 01:24:12 PM
A goal and an assist on Harry Kane's German Bundesliga debut was a good way for the English national team skipper to announce his presence in the league. Regarded as the the player who's finally gonna fill in Robert Lewandowski's boots over a year on from the prolific Poland strikers transfer to Barcelona, Kane expertly delivered a performance to match that belief.
With the kind of quality that comes with the signing Harry Kane, Bayern Munich is definitely gonna be huge threat to not just the rest of the German Bundesliga clubs but to the entire European football.

I think Bayern will be on a par with Real Madrid and City to claim the title in the Champions League. Real Madrid still hasn't got Mbappe, City have lost the KDB so all three teams look equal. If Tuchel does not escalate the conflict with Kimmich and the atmosphere in the team is normal, then Bayern will have a great season ahead (it is a pity that they will not be in the same group with Barcelona, I would like to see the continuation of this series).
