I'm not frightened because I'm confident Bayern will win the game, Bayern Munich can not afford to lose against Galatasaray, because they're top team and untouchable in UCL competition. First half, the score is 1-1 and outstanding performance from both sides. Galatasaray entertaining Bayern Munich with a high level performance. A competitive game but the best side will always go home with solid points. In addition, Galatasaray performance surprised everyone because nobody expected them to be in good shape against an elite team like the Bavarians.

Unfortunately (for me since I bet on Bayern), the truth is that Bayern can easily afford to lose a game or two (even though they are used to getting a 100% result in the group stage) since they still will qualify in first place. We can only hope that Tuchel does not want Bayern to perform worse/at the level of last season (according to average indicators) and will try to achieve a convincing victory today.

I can't help but admire this team, talk about skill, btw this isn't my fpl team but the highest of game week 9 in the entire world..

Am wondering to myself what stops us from getting such scores with such a practical team and without any Manchester city assets that I expect everyone to own at least 1 but a non City squad, this is a slap in the face..well played Gretna FC(Serbia).

Team Kanapka, congrats on that solid 110 points making you the GW9 champ

Crazy result, but if this is a screenshot from his account, then you can pay attention to his average points - 67. This is a very good indicator, but still not so unattainable even for those who have “regular” teams with Haaland, etc. Of the thousands of players who assemble teams, he was lucky, and besides the main players like Salah, Son, etc. the underdogs also scored points. Maybe in the next game day, only the player with the top picks will be in first place.

@swogerino @rohang @Igebotz Yeah I personally can't really tell right now what strategy works but I believe consistency is key. I mentioned maybe 18 point average (for 180 total points sounds decent Top 10 but too early to tell). Worth mentioning plenty of 10-point stakes on decent favourites suggest many agree here.

Being consistent is good, but it definitely won't lead to the top - since the number of participants is large, someone will be lucky enough to guess several unlikely results with big odds. Personally, I'll only bet on unlikely outcomes from now on - I forgot to use my 10 points last round and now feel like I'm way behind, so I need to bet heavily.

For the record: season 2022/23   bullrun2020bro (419 points)

KTChampions is averaging just under 15 points per round and that would by far destroy bullrun2020bro's 419 points.

Edit: these are the results from the German pool:

saison 2019/20   cygan (386 punkte - besonderheit: tippspiel hat ab dem 4. spieltag begonnen)
saison 2020/21   Lemming (403 punkte)
saison 2021/22   cygan (459 punkte)
saison 2022/23   bullrun2020bro (419 punkte)

@KTChampions, lucky streak or pure skill? ;P

I think it’s too early to say what will happen at the end, I’m sure that we will see a kaledoscope both in the top and in other parts of the table.
As for me, I'm sure it's luck. Firstly, my results in other polls are bad (I even avoid looking at the statistics so as not to lose my good mood), and secondly, the Bundesliga looks random to me, maybe I understand a few teams from here, but overall I can’t say that I understand this league.
2046  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: October 23, 2023, 04:36:08 PM
I agree, Because even if we consider Athletic Bilbao a weak team, still Barcelona needed to win this game harder because they are currently racing with Real Madrid in La Liga while Real Madrid is much stronger than last season because of the players they bought. Now we are waiting for the next game in La Liga between Barcelona and Real Madrid.

It is worth noting that despite the fact that Real was unlucky with Seville, Barcelona is still one point behind and it can be assumed that Barcelona will desperately need a victory. I'm sure Real will also play to win (after all, Real is competing for first place with Girona hahaha) but they have more room for maneuver tactically. If Barcelona rolls the ball in the middle of the field, then Real will not be forced to open up and waste energy on pressing, they will be able to play according to the scheme “ok, 0-0 will suit us”.
2047  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: October 23, 2023, 04:29:44 PM
Quite good odds for a team that has not a single defeat and 6 wins in 8 games. If it were City the odds would be about 1.30. I am also tempted to bet on Tottenham, but I will refrain, it seems too incredible to me that after 9 rounds Tottenham will be in first place. But I won’t bet on Fulham either, not even a double chance, because Tottenham are rightfully the favorites, their game is really good and the result is not a coincidence or a series of “lucks”. I will watch the game as an outside observer.

The exact result is about not failing to get points in this match because yes, so far this season Tottenham has managed to get very good results. Although not all matches are won but at least, Tottenham managed to be unbeaten so far this season. So yes, playing at home against Fulham can be a definite result for Tottenham to win or draw. Because anyway, so far this season also when Fulham played away, in fact Fulham managed to hold Arsenal to a draw with a score of 2-2 in the third week this season. Therefore, at least I said Tottenham would still get points whether it was through a win or a draw because after all, maybe Fulham could have provided a difficult resistance in this match to be able to end the match with a draw, who knows.

It is likely that Tottenham will not lose today, the question is that if we bet on a double chance, we will only get +14% to the bet or to the multi-bet. Maybe the profit and risk are comparable, but I don’t like to bet on the continuation of series (anomalous, and imo the Tottenham series can be considered anomalous). I'd rather bet on United against Coppenhagen with a handicap, it will be equivalent to 5-6 bets on Tottenham and more profitable (and risky, of course).
2048  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do your parents know about your gambling habit ? on: October 23, 2023, 03:51:06 PM
A strange question (if we are talking about gambling as simple entertainment and not as an addiction that causes some problems), my parents probably don’t care how I have fun (I can decide for myself) but rather how my family and I are doing with our health/at work/in school, etc. My parents were never into gambling, so this topic is not common to us and we do not discuss it.
2049  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How often is your luck in gambling? on: October 23, 2023, 03:39:48 PM
Yes, I agree with what you write, but I have to make clarifications: for me, the amount that can change my life is the amount that will allow me to leave my fucking country (Russia). Taking into account the fact that I have a family and I am not 18 years old, you understand that I am not ready to significantly reduce the standard of my life in a new place, so I am only considering (at least for now) a move where I will have a serious financial cushion.

Well, it couldn't be helped if we feel that we're not going anywhere or becoming financially free in our own country, cause I can actually relate since I would literally want to go overseas and get a job as well get paid non bare minimum wage, of course is not actually easy to find one. I did not know your situation to suggest things that might not be applicable in your case, my apologies. Adjusting to new things is really hard, I'm currently living on my own but I consider things already hard with budgeting money, since I'm away from my family (1000km away but also PH). Since this country is full of corrupted people. And hopefully you could find better place to move and save up money.
Well, currently the situation in Russia is complicated, I know that, but is it so difficult for you to leave the country? Europe is very close, have you considered going out like Venezuelans do? I really admire him, because they have to go through jungles, facing very difficult situations, the Russians for me are people who are very intelligent and apart from that they are people who have gone through difficult situations, I know that the situation with the president and with the War is a complicated thing, but there must be something like a way where you can leave with your family safely, and then ask for asylum in another country, that's what the majority did, however, I don't know how much control the Russians have over it. going out, of course with family and everything becomes very complicated, but I don't know if the policies apply to you, I know that the USA as well as most countries have rules and facilities to enter the country but as refugees, but in a country with so much complication can give you some ease, of course that's what I can say.

Many people I know wanted to go to Russia because of how beautiful it is, in fact in the government I am in they offered me a postgraduate degree to go to Russia permanently, I don't know, but I think things could happen somehow because I didn't accept it, because it seemed very far away and because wow I like the language a lot, but the fact that it was so far away is something I didn't like, a friend did leave and I think he got married and is there, he didn't He regrets it, but of course it is very different to live from that moment to now as the situation is there, to have everything that represents being a country where many things are prohibited, I hope you can leave your country with your family safely, they give you the opportunity to be in another country, or that another country asks you so you can work, that's what I can see you can do, depending on your skills, it's one way to do it.

At the moment, it’s easy to leave the country (at least until the second wave of mobilization has been announced), and I may actually have to flee from here. But for now there is time and I am trying to prepare to leave the country not as a refugee (to be a nobody in a new place and start from scratch) but as someone who can immediately work and earn a decent living. Thank God the Internet now allows me to work from anywhere in the world, for example, now I am farming (in games) and my income exceeds the average salary in the country. Now I want to try YouTube (although my fucking country is cut off from monetization) and streaming.

Lyon have one of the worst starting of the season since so long time, at a point where we doubt they could get up and avoid the relegation this season if they continue performing like that. I can't believe they lost vs Clermont Foot, the team that is just behind them in the standings with 0 victory before the match. Now things look worse for them in the last spot with 3 points after 9 games Lips sealed

Yes, these are very unusual results for them. Moreover, if you look at other statistics, it looks natural - they scored goals at the level of the worst team and conceded one goal less than the worst team in this indicator. Now their chances for the title are assessed at the level of odds of Toulouse, Nantes, Strasbourg, etc. 1 in 501. It is unlikely that they will be able to rise to the European Cup zone, but at the same time I am sure that they will remain in League 1.
2051  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: October 23, 2023, 01:38:07 PM
This is when I am sometimes stuck between a rock and a hard place. I look at the player and his achievements but first and foremost the character and then it is hard to imagine that the player could become a great coach. Zidane has always been an authority and someone who understands the game and is charsimatic. I had no doubt he could become successful as a coach. But a different example would be Diego Simeone. When he came to Atletico Madrid, I remembered how he behaved like a player and what character he was, and I couldn't get a picture into my head that would paint him as a good coach. But well, he delivered as a coach. In case of Benzema I don't know, maybe with experience at other clubs and then in 10 years from now he may be doing great as a coach. But I don't think he would be well respect by all players early on in his career.

Why? Benzema has a list of achievements at the player level that most players can only envy. Plus, he will definitely not start with Real Madrid, which means under his leadership there will be players much less authoritative and strong in sports terms than he was. As for the fact that it is impossible to predict who will be a successful coach and who will not, I agree. This is a completely different field and an average player can become a great coach and vice versa.

Tonight is the night for Tottenham,if they win this which they should and they should focus 100% on this game because after so many years now they have the chance to lead the Premier League in the standings and taking the first spot there.I don't think that Fulham would put a very strong fight against them although I think they should not at all under estimate this team and as I said fight for the victory which will make them the leaders of the Premier League.

I believe many people will bet on them tonight but I am not worried,I will bet myself as the odd is satisfactory near 1.50 while they are playing at home in front of their home stadium.

Quite good odds for a team that has not a single defeat and 6 wins in 8 games. If it were City the odds would be about 1.30. I am also tempted to bet on Tottenham, but I will refrain, it seems too incredible to me that after 9 rounds Tottenham will be in first place. 2053  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: October 23, 2023, 12:35:55 PM
Some groups are easier than the others, while there are teams better than leaders of other groups end up being second or even third because they end up in a harder group. Like for example in group D, Turkey is great, Croatia is great and Wales is great, only two of the three will go out, whereas group H for example, Slovenia seems like the best one? That doesn't make sense, any of the three in the group D would lead that group easily if they draw the groups better.

This is why I keep saying that we need to have like some big league, like one league that everyone plays each other just once, I know that would be a lot of games but that would make it fair and everyone would show their true talents and nobody would be going up with just pure group draw luck.

I think Turkey's good performance after long-term failures is a surprise for everyone (not the same as in the case of Albania, but still) so I would say that all groups are +- equal.
As for a round-robin tournament for all teams, how do you imagine this? 53 teams play a round-robin tournament, let’s say even just one round (although this is unfair since playing at home and away are different things). In total, each team must play 52 games  Grin
In order for this to happen in an adequate time frame, other tournaments must be shortened (and significantly), for example, national championships must also be held in one round.
2054  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: October 23, 2023, 12:29:41 PM
I think it is too early to judge only 3 teams joining the race of the champion. It is still matchday 9, we are very far from the end of the competition. At least, we should be in the second half of the season to know which teams to be the strong candidates for the champion. So, I think al the current top 5 still have the same chance to be the champion.
~

9 games are quite a serious segment of the championship to evaluate the strengths of the teams. From a mathematical point of view, with a total of 38 games, it is more likely that the lead of the top three will grow rather than fall. In addition, if we now consider the chances of any team that is outside the top 3, we must consider the likelihood that it will be stronger (not just equal, but stronger) than each team from the top 3, since the first three already have an advantage. What is the likelihood of this? In my opinion no more than 10%. Tomorrow we will check the quotes and I think that my estimate will be very close to this figure.

Now Lionel Messi has denied the rumors circulating involving him with Barcelona. As we know, there are rumors that Barcelona wants Lionel Messi to return to the Blaugrana on loan from Inter Miami. But Lionel Messi feels he is having a good season with Inter Miami and he is very happy to be there. Lionel Messi also added that he wants to continue having a competitive season next season and wants to experience other extraordinary moments with Inter Miami.

I think with a statement like that it's quite clear that he won't be going anywhere even until February next year and he will stay at Inter Miami. I think Barcelona should give up and let Lionel Messi be happy with his new family at Inter Miami. Besides, what are they still looking for, will Barcelona, by being able to get a loan from Lionel Messi, be able to make money again and is that really their initial goal? What do you think?

Source: https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1716151482054001011

I don't think anyone in Barcelona was seriously thinking about bringing Messi back. It’s one thing to do PR to get the support of nostalgic fans and just create information noise, and another thing to do this unrealistic thing.
And I can make a prediction: such rumors will appear for several more years (maybe even after Messi retires), this is the same as the story with Elvis Presley - some fanboys still think that he is alive and is about to be found (although even just biologically he should be dead).

I know this is Mens Champions League but does anyone watch Womens Champions League also going now, I heard some rumors that they will soon be sharing timeslots in the future with the new format.

Competitively none are worth watching on betting on, or does anyone actually watch and can say if there are good tips here?

From your message I found out that the Women's Champions League exists  Grin As for bets, it would be interesting to see the quotes offered by bookmakers. If they are similar to men’s competitions (including the bookmaker’s margin is no higher than in men’s competitions), then I would bet on outsiders since, in my opinion, the randomness in women’s competitions is higher.

Thank you! I have already received a free bet and I hope to implement it in the Champions League games (although I have not yet seen whether there will be convenient games there).
I'm very glad that I finally got the yellow cap - in the previous round I didn't get it because of just one point, but this time luck was on my side. I also congratulate BTCGOSU.
2059  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 22, 2023, 05:40:52 PM
I think to successfully fight the big four in Serie A you need to lead one of these clubs. Mourinho has already jumped over his head by winning the Conference League and reaching the Europa League final with Roma, but fundamentally the strength of the team does not change and it is difficult to count on such achievements in every season. Mourinho is clearly not the one who will sit in one club if he does not have the resources to progress. He is now 60 years old (many years ahead) and I hope that after working in Saudi Arabia (if it happens) he will return to Europe to lead one of the top clubs.
Yes, one of the problems Mourinho faces is that the composition he has is not that perfect, so it will make it difficult for him to be in a very tight competition. And I think when AS Roma change coaches it will not make significant progress, if the composition of the plyers they have cannot be changed. Maybe it's true that there are some clubs that have a squad that is not fancy they can compete and play very well, but it doesn't last long and in the following season they return to the game as usual. And if we see a club that can maintain its performance is a club that has a strong squad.

Yes, there is always an expected result that is assessed relative to the investment; in my opinion, Mourinho’s result is very high. It’s hard for me to name a coach who would have achieved more with Roma. But now both Mourinho and the club are stuck in the fact that a certain result has already been achieved and it is difficult to progress further (without significant investment), so it is likely that both sides will want to go their separate ways. But as I already wrote, the option that cooperation will continue also exists.
