2001  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Gambling Generally An Illicit Activity? on: October 29, 2023, 03:37:11 PM
In addition to the fact that gambling itself is prohibited in many countries, an additional problem is that it is used for money laundering. It is very convenient to explain your “suddenly large” income by saying that you won in a casino or somewhere else. In some countries, they fight this with inadequately high taxes on winnings (while honest gamblers suffer). But in general, in many countries, gambling is an absolutely legal activity, even though there are many scammers and shady schemes (tax evasion and money laundering).

Incredible game between Cagliari and Frosinone.

Frosinone was winning by 3-0 and Cagliari managed to win by 4-3 at the end.

They scored 4 goals in 30 minutes, missed a penalty, and hit 2 posts.

Shocked Crazy result! Cagliari scored almost as many goals in this game as they had scored in the previous 9 rounds. 2 goals (which just brought the victory) were scored in extra time. I would like to know what the odds were for Cagliari to win with the score 0-3, I'm sure the odds were more than 100. It's funny that even this victory didn't change Cagliari's position in the standings much.

By looking at the odds, it's clear that City will come away with three points. The Manchester derby is today; on which team are you betting? Because they are the favorite, I am betting on the away team to win in a stimulating scenario. On second thinking, Pep Guardiola is after the EPL crown and is not going to give up in permitting Spurs to sit comfortably above the league table. Manchester United hosts Manchester City at Old Trafford; the game will be resilient, and I'm confident the Red Devils' manager, Erik Ten Hag, is only capable of employing a defensive approach against the City.

1.66 is far from a clear quote to be sure of City's victory. 1.66=~ 60% and this means that in 4 games out of 10 City, according to the bookmakers, should lose points. I don’t even know what I want more in this game - for City to lose points or for Ten Hag to lose again and look for excuses for where United will be in the standings after this game. Probably the ideal option for me would be a draw  Grin

I think his post is nothing to do with the match between Barcelona vs Real Madrid. It is true that Barcelona is dominating group H, they always win every match and be the leader of group H now. It is very obvious that Barcelona performance in UCL looks impressive so far. However, it is still in group phase, we don't know how Barcelona can maintain the good form when the group phase is over (knockout phase).

I don't want to conclude how far Barcelona to compete in UCL based on the result on La Liga. Sometimes, the performance in UCL and local competition can be different or contradictory (opposite). Although Barcelona looks dropping their performance in La Liga, how knows if they can play better in UCL.

It all depends on who they meet at the 1/8 final stage. At the moment, Barcelona have average results - in La Liga they have drawn three times with weak teams and once lost the game to a strong team (Real Madrid). With no other big games Barcelona have had this season, it was hard to tell how good or bad they were overall. But if at the 1/8 stage they come across someone strong, then I am sure that Barcelona will be the underdog.
2005  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: October 29, 2023, 11:54:46 AM
Bayern Munich scored 8 goals against Darmstad and achieved a very spectacular victory. The team I am more interested in in the Bundesliga is Union Berlin. The team, which showed an excellent performance to qualify for the Champions League last season, has now been defeated in the last 7 matches. They have not been successful in the Champions League groups so far. So, it is very important to establish a team that can compete in all competitions. They are currently just above the relegation zone, but if they continue with this lack of form, it seems certain that they will be relegated. They need to change the coach immediately.

By the way, this game is a very good illustration of how football can be changed in favor of entertainment (which is what UEFA and FIFA dream of) without the perversions that UEFA and FIFA offer (net time, kick-outs, etc.). It is enough to reduce the number of players on the field by just one and the effectiveness and dynamism of the game will increase dramatically. This is exactly what everyone should like. And although this is also a revolutionary change, it is much more logical than what football officials are proposing now.

When it comes to Inter - Roma and Napoli - Milan matches my choices for betting would be to bet on Inter @1.54 and to bet on double chance for Milan @1.67.

Inter are already in much better condition than Roma not only by points but also their game. Roma's winning streak shouldn't misguide people For example their most recent performance against Monza was really poor. As for the other big match I think Milan won't lose there. Napoli are still deprived of Osimhen. Besides Milan have been quite successful against Napoli in the recent years. Considering how strong Milan are now too I believe in them.

In my opinion, the bet on Milan is doubtful (at least the potential profit does not correspond to the risk). An away game against last year's champion, which seems to have found its game and is slowly returning to business. Milan, in turn, is extremely weak in serious games - a defeat from Inter, from Juventus and three games without scoring goals in the Champions League. If Milan can count on something here, it can only be a draw.

Al Fayah come up against Al Nassr where they have already conceded three goals and Al Nassr are fighting for victory.  As the game is almost over and there is some time left and Al Fayah will never be able to equalize the game in this interval.  With players like Sadio Mane and Ronaldo on the field, Al Nassr will surely win the match. And today's last minute betting avoidance, I am really surprised that there is such a big gap between the two teams. Late in the game came the bet avoidance, @351 Al Fayah and draw @51 and Al Nassr @1.00 It's really ridiculous.

What tempting odds with coefficient of 1!  Grin But in fact, even such a bet makes sense if someone is interested in the wagering.

In fact, when Cristiano Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr last season, he was not immediately able to adapt well to the Al-Nassr squad. And last season Cristiano Ronaldo was not very productive either. But this season Cristiano Ronaldo has adapted and as we can see he has become very productive and we can even see Cristiano Ronaldo returning to his best performance as when he was young.

And I think Benzema is the same. He does need adaptation for at least half a season. And I'm sure that in the second half of the season Benzema will be even better at Al-Ittihad. Because I know that Benzema's quality is still very good when he can play more comfortably.

I think that adapting to the level of your partners is also of great importance here, because on the one hand it’s nice to play against weak opponents, but on the other hand, your partners are also of a much lower level than you are used to in Europe and this negatively affects your game. Let's see how Benzema gets used to the fact that it is not Modric and Kroos who play along with him, but less skilled players.

Unfortunately, not 1-3 as I predicted, but still good. As always, I was pleased with Xavi who said that Barcelona dominated for 60 minutes and should have won. He probably forgot that the game lasts 90  Grin
By the way, once again Ancelotti showed the difference between a “beginner” coach and a master - his substitutions turned the game around (especially Modric and Camavinga) while Xavi’s substitutions turned out to be useless.

In a way true, but Xavi didn't have the subs he wanted/needed. Anyway, great result for you, I have to admit it's our own fault Smiley Next game please. It's like nightmare week for me everywhere.

This week has so far infuriated me because the exact score is slipping away in favor of “standard” forecasts. I'm taking risks, but so far it hasn't paid off.
I agree that Xavi has problems with the squad, but he also has problems with his tongue. For example, about Bellingham, he said that he was just lucky. What nonsense. I understand that it’s unpleasant for Xavi to lose, but such statements at a high level do not sound as innocent as what, for example, we allow ourselves to write here on the forum.

It's hard to talk about stability given the defeat to Brentford, but Chelsea's performance seems to be getting better. In general, it’s quite strange that a team with literally one goal for the season (the Premier League, without European Cups and other things) is in such a storm. I think Chelsea fans are already tired of the transitional seasons and want to see a positive result.

The thing is that this defeat came as a surprise even for the pessimistic people. I know that Chelsea can't be relied upon as it has been like that for a while, but how on earth could they lose this game like that? Quite impressive that Pochettino is still there. If there is anything the club could do right now, in my opinion it would be to get rid of this horrible coach.

Good question, but maybe the owners have fallen into a trap from which they want to get out, even at the cost of the fact that the coach does not suit them very much. If we change the coach now, then a 100% new coach (if it is a strong coach with a name and not a technical figure) will say: I didn’t put this squad together, I want changes and Chelsea will again be forced to spend money (of which they have already spent a lot). Maybe based on this, Pochettino’s position is strong and he will continue to be forgiven for bad results.

2011  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: October 29, 2023, 11:04:17 AM
What an incredible performance by Francis Ngannou against Tyson Fury even though he lost the fight by split decision, Francis Ngannou was able to drop him in the third round and won the round and it was a really close fight than anticipated and the stock of Francis Ngannou just gone up with this performance.

Thank God I went to bed and didn’t watch this circus. I’m too lazy to figure out what it was: stealing a victory from Ngannou, a fixed fight, a show match or something else. I can only agree with LeBron James' comment after this fight: this is why I don't watch box.

From what I read about the fight, I can assume that the victory should have been awarded to Ngannou: in my opinion, the activity + knockdown of the opponent cannot be “outweighed” by the accuracy of the blows and other statistical nonsense.

It all depends on the term of the contract and what the release clause is, what seems expensive now may be very cheap in a couple of years. Gavi is very young and he will improve so it might even be cheap right now. If you are talking about compliance with ffp, then Chelsea has a whole crowd of players and they will sell someone to maintain the balance in the required indicators, and we all know that top clubs always avoid punishment for such violations.
Spending money is never a problem for Chelsea because they have spent a lot in the transfer market in the previous season. Therefore, I don't think the player is expensive for Chelsea management, and I think they will try signing him since it is Pochettino's choice to sign him in order to stabilize the team midfield because he was complaining that he was not the coach that signed these players. That is why the team is struggling to adapt, but I think the manager has reached a stable performance since the team is now becoming more consistent than they used to be at the beginning of the season.

It's hard to talk about stability given the defeat to Brentford, but Chelsea's performance seems to be getting better. In general, it’s quite strange that a team with literally one goal for the season (the Premier League, without European Cups and other things) is in such a storm. Benzema was actually never the same level of prolific scorer as Cristiano Ronaldo. Of course, he was able to win the Ballon d'Or. But to be honest, some of the goals that he scored in that season were really lucky. But anyway, she has always been pretty inconsistent throughout his whole career, except for that one season. And it is not going to be very wise to ask a lot from him at this age. But I thought he would be able to perform well because he is in the Saudi league. But I think it is very evident that he is not performing as expected.

I think that compared to Ronaldo, most players would be in the shadow, so I would not say that Benzema had weak performances throughout his career. But I am surprised by the fact that many people came to Saudi Arabia, but so far only Ronaldo and a few other players are showing top results (today Talisca made a double and he is one of those who work seriously). Everyone says that scoring in weak leagues is easy, but for some reason we don’t see random players from Europe who score 20+ goals here. In fact, we see the same performance ratio as when playing in Europe.
2016  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: October 28, 2023, 04:23:32 PM
I have some doubts about the Juventus - Verona game after doing an analysis. I can't be confident about Juventus to win comfortably before anything else. If you check out their history it is like every single game ended like 1-0, 2-1 and so on. Juventus have always had problems on winning by a bigger score for years.

I know Juventus are better this season but still I will pass this game for betting. If they manage to win I expect a similar win like 1-0 or 2-1. I would like them to make me surprised though. Because I want them in the title race this season and these things would be good signs for that.

The odds for this game are as follows:

1.44 - 4.30 - 8.20

Verona is in the basement of the standings and it seems that the outcome of this game is a foregone conclusion, but I also would not bet on Juventus simply because the odds are too small to take the risk. +44% is not very much even taking into account the fact that the game will be in Turin.
Today's other two pairs, in my opinion, are more suitable for placing a bet, even if they look random, but the odds are greater than 2.

Chelsea have shown an interest in signing Barcelona midfielder Gavi for £87 million:
If this transfer actually happens, I believe Chelsea would be overspending. £87 million for Gavi seems pretty steep; I'd say a more reasonable figure would be around £50-60 million for him.

It all depends on the term of the contract and what the release clause is, what seems expensive now may be very cheap in a couple of years. Gavi is very young and he will improve so it might even be cheap right now. The following is a list of the top scorers of all time in the Champions League and with the addition of 2 goals in the previous match from Erling Haaland, making his name among the top 20 champions league scorers of all time with 37 goals. Erling Haaland is currently 23 years old and his career is still very long for this competition. Maybe in the next 4 to 5 years I think he will be at 100 goals if he continues to be consistent in scoring goals. Will Erling Haaland break the record currently held by Cristiano Ronaldo with 140 goals? If that happens, of course he will beat the achievements of one of the GOATs and also make his name even more famous throughout the world.

To be honest, this is a very strange assumption - last season, with the maximum number of games and winning the Champions League, Haaland scored only 12 goals, so he will need not 4-5 but rather 10 seasons to overtake Ronaldo. And yes, I think he will overtake him, by the way, not least due to the fact that Ronaldo started his career not as a striker but as a winger and by the age of 25 he had scored only 21 goals in the Champions League. Haaland plays straight away as a striker and started churning out goals very early.

Did anyone read about Milan being first team in Champions League not to score for 5 consecutive games (including last season I believe).
~

Last season they lost to Inter to a clean sheet in the playoffs, so it really is 5 games without scoring goals. But I’m surprised that no one has yet achieved such a “record”, taking into account the fact that teams like Victoria and the like are now playing in the Champions League.
Maybe now it makes sense to bet on a “breakthrough” ending to this series? The odds for Milan to win against PSG with a handicap of -1 will be very good.

Chelsea lost 2-0 at home to brentford after a good performance.
Brentford defense was so solid that it was difficult to penetrate.
The counter attack carried out by Brentford was able to be put to good use.
good game for Brentford.

Chelsea were only good in the first half, but even so, in the most important stat (after the score), they lost:

Shots 17:7
Shots on target 2:5
Corners – 10:1

Overall a classic game of “counterattacks versus ball control.”
Another fall for Chelsea to 11th place, but it seems that if we look at the last games, their game is becoming more and more lively? Maybe when they deal with the injury epidemic they will at least return to the top half of the standings.
