2021  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: October 28, 2023, 02:50:07 PM

Is anyone interested in betting on Fury vs Ngannou for 5%?

1.05 - 8.20

Obviously, it is the most reliable and profitable bet on the fact that the fight will not last the entire distance with odds of 1.11 - even if Ngannou somehow miraculously wins, this bet will work.

If you have spare money you can afford to waste, go for Ngannou a big win with 8.20. And it could also go to waste more than likely.

A KO win by Fury still is substantial which is more than 80% possible if we look at the odds itself.
But there is no assurance to it yet, they could just be running arround the ring and end in a decision.

If I were to bet, I would only bet on the following outcomes:

Ngannou, Francis & 2 round 41.00

Ngannou, Francis & 1 round 34.0

Ngannou has chances only in the first rounds, then his chances disappear with enormous speed, bookmakers quote the probability of his victory as less as the end of the fight gets closer. I planned to make just such a bet, but now plans have changed, and I feel mixed emotions - as if I was missing out on something. Well, if Ngannou wins, it will be a pleasant event in itself, even without the money won.

Chainalysis?

As a sideshow, Usyk has arrived with his team in the hotel Saudi Arabia to watch the fight ringside and Fury was there to meet him. It was funny watching Fury joking with Usyk and his team because it does seem underneath all that bravado there is a heart of gold. I laughed when Usyk lifted Fury off the ground when he was invited to hug him: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LydvrwqYkF4

2025  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: October 27, 2023, 09:10:05 PM
I thought that Tottenham would win by 3-1. However the better playing side in the first half was Crystal Palace. Tottenham absolutely need to change some things in the second half. Maddison was very ineffective. He wasted a chance on which he could have passed the ball to Son. If he was able to pass it quickly Son was going to make his team get ahead at the beginning of the match most probably.

Edit: While I was making this post Crystal Palace scored an own goal. Maddison made them score that. lol

I got 1-2 correct result but so far things are looking solid. Tottenham has the lead so still anything can happen. Good thing that they took the lead now opens up the match and Tottenham has a chance with a counter attack to seal the match so hopefully they win this at least.

I predicted 2-0 in favor of Tottenham and now I feel like the blind VAR stole 3 points from me (didn't the ball touch Ayui's hand?). Now a huge number of those who made the “classic” forecast of 2-1 for the favorite found themselves in a good plus.
Overall, I am pleased that Tottenham continues to lead, plus there is a little pressure on the pursuers due to the fact that they were the first to play the game and are now ahead by 5 points.
2026  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: October 27, 2023, 09:03:15 PM
The score after the first half is 0-0 and it’s funny that with an overwhelming advantage in ball possession, Tottenham never hit the target. At the moment, the odds for Tottenham to win have already risen to 2.30, I think this is beneficial, in fact, leaders often don’t strain too much at first and then get the required result. I think in the second half Tottenham will be able to open up the Crystal Palace defense.
This first half was quite lame where Tottenham even controlled more than 70 percent of the ball but in terms of opportunities owned, Crysal Palace was much better in this match.
Tottenham during these 45 minutes only tried to play the ball but they were always troubled when Crystal Palace made a quick counter attack because there were so many opportunities created from Palace's fast counterattacks fortunately their finishing did not go well.

Tottenham were too engrossed which could backfire on them.  Postecoglou needs to make some changes in terms of scheme because if the second half things like this still happen I'm not even sure they can get full points because it could be Palace who score first.

As I said, Tottenham easily achieved a two-goal advantage and despite the fact that Crystal Palace was able to pull one goal back (by the way, I’m not sure that the VAR judged everything correctly here because the ball hit Aye’s hand), Tottenham gets three points and remains the leader of the Premier League.
And once again I am extremely annoyed that the second half lasted 12 minutes longer than expected. There is no strength to watch so many “last” minutes.
2027  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: October 27, 2023, 08:52:47 PM
Considering that there are still 3 matches each team will play, the opportunity to qualify for the round of 16 is still open. It's just that Milan is starting to be doubted about qualifying after 3 bad results, but we never know for sure who will get that ticket even though it seems like PSG and Dortmund have a good chance between Newcastle and Milan.

I still believe Milan or Newcastle can win at least 6 points in the group stage in the next 3 matches, that means they have to beat each other regardless of whether Milan wins against Newcastle, PSG and Dortmund or vice versa. PSG have a big chance and I'm not sure they will fail to qualify this season.

Theoretically, everything is possible, but after Milan has already shown its weakness in relation to these teams and taking into account the fact that these teams have a good head start relative to Milan, Milan's chances are illusory. Look at the bookmaker's quotes:

UEFA Champions League - Group F - Winner

Paris Saint-Germain 1.65

Newcastle United 4.00

Borussia Dortmund 5.00

AC Milan 15.00

I don't think bookmakers are biased against Milan, they just have to take into account actual results (0 wins, 0 goals scored) and not theoretically possible ones.

Roll Eyes

Quote

Quote

Quote
Cheesy

De Bruyne is another star with his name being called with Saudi Arabia teams for next summer. He is 32 years old though but I believe he is still solid enough to play at the same level for a couple of more years at least. I don't know if he would lean towards such transfer yet. No doubt the offer would be quite attracting.  Grin

De Bruyne must be focused on recovering from his injury first. After that he wouldn't think about these things already now. He would concentrate on his game until the end of the season. I would like to see him staying at Manchester City longer honestly.

If I were KDB, I would go to Saudi Arabia (if the offer was similar to the offers that were made to Ronaldo, Neymar, etc.). Firstly, he has already won everything he could at the club level. Secondly, because of feelings of resentment. An excellent player, the engine of the team, on a personal level received simply zero PR and awards. Modric received the Ballon d'Or, KDB did not receive anything (and it is already obvious that he will not receive it). It seems to me that in his situation it’s worth accepting and just taking a lot of money.

Currently in Serie A there is a Genoa vs Salernitana match, it seems like Genoa can secure full points in this match because currently they are leading with a score of 1-0. Also, it looks like Salernitana can't make any surprise in this match.

It’s probably too early to talk about this - there are still about 30 minutes of play ahead, but judging by the bookmakers’ quotes (1.22 for Genoa to win), they believe that in this game, with the score 1-0, everything has already been decided. In principle, there is logic in this since at the moment Salernitana has scored only 6 goals in 9 games. But for the sake of 22%, I personally will not take risks, the score is still slippery.

However, I don’t think Ronaldo should be nominated this year, age matters and Ronaldo is no longer playing in Europe, so any statistics are worthless.
Messi, in turn, should not be nominated either, since age has also affected him and he has not been playing at the top level for several years. But unfortunately, corruption has not gone away and this year the obvious number 1 Haaland will be robbed.
I dunno why messi was winning the ballon d'or again. Messi was also no longer played in the europa league as well. I think that there's something wrong in underground this time. Ronaldo was not so ambitious as before.
he cares even more about the reality of his life instead of thinking about ballon d'or. The corruption will never be gone away. It will always stay caused by some people were so greedy as fucks in taking everything from others.
Why shall messi be nominated this year? He was also leaving at the same time when ronaldo was also leaving from united and join in the al nassr.

hmmmm

It's hard to be surprised by any unfair state of affairs in European football given that it is all riddled with corruption, so I don't worry about it, I'm just stating the facts. What kind of justice do you expect if even the presidents of countries are involved in the “business” (Macron who persuaded Mbappe to stay at PSG, Russian thieving officials who “bought” themselves the 2018 World Cup, the Qataris who bought themselves “what a weird winter World Cup 2023”, etc.).

Nice is the only team that is unbeaten this season in 9 matches. and looks like it will continue in 10 matches. because it would not be very good for Nice if they got a draw or even lost to Clermont whose player quality is far below Nice.
this season Nice is doing well. Hopefully, they can consistently maintain their performance. Last season wasn't that good but this season they are competing with PSG and Monaco at the top of the standings.

It is logical to assume that the team in second place from the top will win against the team in second place from the bottom  Grin However, I am not surprised that the odds for Nice to win are almost 2 (1.95), apparently the bookmakers take into account that Clermont does not concede many goals as an outsider, and Nice has certain problems with performance. The danger that the game will end with the score close or equal to 0-0 is great.

Just wanted to pop in and hopefully remind people like myself that picks need to be made over the next few hours to not miss out Girona - Celta in about 4 hours.

It really is a sign of the times that I'm doubting Celta's ability to even score tonight as Girona has been one crazy upstart to the early season. Iago Aspas has been so dependable for so long that it was always natural their reliance on him would show and it certainly seems so now. My position is close enough to a prize spot that the choice isn't so easy to make.

On the one hand, this is one of the most suspicious matches in this round - can Girona really keep up with the leaders for so long? On the other hand, statistics show that their victories may not be just luck. And by the way, I made a choice in favor of BTTS, Girona is good, but still on average they concede one goal per game, and Celta scores one goal per game.
2035  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: October 27, 2023, 04:22:22 PM
Due to the background, these games are always difficult to predict and injury factors or overall team readiness do not always matter. Personally, this season I have already suffered several times from the fact that Real won the game with a slight advantage in the score, although great results were expected, so I will probably bet on Real to win with a handicap in this game. I believe that Real Madrid have an advantage and it should finally be realized.
So far I'm still 50:50 because on the other hand Madrid can still handle the game with a composition of young players, just because they are playing at home to Barcelona so for Barcelona the result of this match is quite important and will maximize all means.
~

As a result, in my forecast I settled on a score of 3-1 in favor of Real. It seems to me that Real’s advantage is about the same as it was at the beginning of last season, so why shouldn’t Real win again with the same score as last year. I am, of course, biased because I support Real Madrid, but on the other hand, Barcelona also has a lot of fans and with their bets on their favorite club they distort the real balance of power in this pair.

I made a bold bet on the Young Boys  Grin
And after they equalized I thought “hmm... maybe this makes sense”, unfortunately Haaland dashed that hope. It probably makes no sense to bet on Young Boys winning the return game (even taking into account the fact that the odds will be huge)?
Since I have already received zero points in two rounds, I am forced to continue looking for risky bets and go all-in.

I think there is still time to try a more conservative approach which are 2 options and they are 1st to find a game you are fully convinced it will hit and hopefully the odds will be 1.5 or higher to stake everything for them or 2nd you divide 10 points in four 2.5 points stakes and place them on odds over 2 and 1 of them you can also spend on that Young Boys huge odds  Grin.

Keep in mind though that if you go for such type of bets and go all in you just need another lost bet and you are definitely out of the prize spots unless you hit consecutive underdogs (highly unlikely).

To be honest, after I missed the second round (simply because I forgot about Pot 2) I psychologically resigned myself to the fact that everything was lost here  Grin Therefore, I won’t be upset at all if I don’t get into the prizes. But now I have a great opportunity to take increased risks (and still have a chance to get back into the race) and threaten those who are in the lead now. Isn't entertainment what we're here for? 2037  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Live Sports Betting vs virtual Games Betting on: October 26, 2023, 01:03:32 PM
I've been hearing a lot of debates about this recently, both online and in my local area, and it got me thinking. When it comes to sports betting, do you prefer the thrill of live sports events or the calculated nature of virtual games?

Personally, I've realized that I have a higher success rate with virtual games, but live sports events offer that adrenaline rush that's hard to beat. It's a common dilemma for many bettors. I usually love betting on virtual games giving me this sure vibe that my odds might play out. Live sports can be unpredictable, and if you don't place the right bets, you might go home empty-handed.

So, I'm throwing the question out to all of you. Which type of sports betting gets your heart racing and your wallets fattening up? Do you have a preference, and if so, why?

Of course I prefer live sports betting. If I want something virtual, then I’d rather play dice - it’s faster and the house edge is less than in betting. Plus, no matter how confident we are in the honesty of the virtual game, the purely psychological reliability and honesty of the real game looks more justified. And if we are talking about emotions, then virtual games do not evoke them in me (if we discard my emotions regarding the money that I risk) while sporting events evoke emotions in themselves.

Being consistent is good, but it definitely won't lead to the top - since the number of participants is large, someone will be lucky enough to guess several unlikely results with big odds. Personally, I'll only bet on unlikely outcomes from now on - I forgot to use my 10 points last round and now feel like I'm way behind, so I need to bet heavily.

I'm surprised myself that the King of backing the underdogs is advicing us against it now. buwaytress when did you start believing in consistency?

Perhaps in a bid to fool everyone else into thinking this is the way to go? And by the looks of it, plenty of all-ins on "safe" teams lost last night. I thought I was pissed at Atletico but Trofo had 10 points on them hahaha.

I caught some good points with BVB (finally repaying my trust in them). Too bad it was only 4/1 when I made the form. Last night you could snatch 6/1 pre-kickoff...

The El Clasico match between Barcelona vs Real Madrid will be the match we are looking forward to. In the midst of Barcelona players being hit by a storm of injuries, Xavi needs to take over the game from the academy. The young players he played with in the Champions League didn't seem to have too much difficulty facing their opponents. On the other hand, Madrid currently has a complete roster of players and Bellingham is still in top condition.
In your opinion, playing at home to Barcelona will be a challenge in itself for Madrid, because in my opinion this match will be quite difficult to predict who will emerge as the winner, Barcelona without Lewandowski, Gavi, Frenkie de Jong, Raphinha and several key players who are absent makes the match difficult burden that must be carried by the host.

Due to the background, these games are always difficult to predict and injury factors or overall team readiness do not always matter. I love how PSG played against Acmilan today in their UCL game,  at the earlier stages of the season they were inconsistent and it affected them to the point that got embarrassed by Newcastle, they were defeated 4-1 but after the international break it seems the whole squad have rediscovered their form cause they're currently playing very brilliantly and did very well today, i had doubts about them winning before the match started but suprisenly they did a good job and claimed 3points from Acmilan.

PSG performance today was outstanding I think the players are now getting an understanding amongst themselves, it was their star player that scored the opener goal to boost their morale in the 1st half and the game would had ended in a 4-0 victory if not for Dembele's goal that was cancelled by VAR, PSG really deserved the victory they performed better, dominated mostly and even created more chances.

I already wrote that after PSG dropped the ballast in the form of Neymar and Messi, they potentially became a more dangerous team than in the previous two seasons, and in fact this worries me since I am rooting against them. But I can’t help but admit that the team has now closed the Galacticos project (which was not successful anywhere) and began development in the right direction. If they find their game, they will be able to compete even for the Champions League, League 1 is in their pocket as always.
