But Hundi is for money transfer. Ripple is for lending and borrowing. Or are you thinking how this can make it so a Hundi operator can work alone? i.e., receive cash from the sender then pushes payment to the recipient through ripple (where the recipient gets cash from someone local)? There will be overlap between Ripple networks and Hundi operator networks but eventually there's simply going to be no need for Hundi / Hawalders -- between Bitcoin and Ripple there's no additional value they can add? - http://opencoin.com <-- Now Ripple.com

which command should i use? -rescan? or -salvagewallet?
Well, hopefully you have made (yet another) backup of the wallet and the logs so that no matter what happens you can get back to the point you are at right now. But just launch bitcoin-qt from the command line and see if it can start. If not, debug.log will give info that will help determine what to do next. Maybe detachdb might be needed. $ Bitcoin-Qt -detachdb=1 [Edited]

Ever seen this before?
Not much you can do other than e-mail their support and wait, hopefully they are getting caught up after the long weekend and with being short staff as the result of business development work occurring overseas.

Their curious "probably fair" given me "double spend" coins when I win.
Perhaps the initial payout was a transaction that never confirmed (due to including coins that had a double spend) but every win (and every loss) that is made with a wager that confirms eventually gets a payout that confirms as well. If you receive a payout that ends up never confirming, a replacement payout is sent. That is provable for every single SatoshiDICE wager that confirms -- going all the way back to April when they started taking wagers (though I'm not sure when the last independent verification of this has been performed). It would be preferable if SatoshiDICE were to never send out payments with unconfirmed funds. But occasionally they do and it each time it ends in a mess like this because people made wagers using coins that ended up becoming invalid due to prior double spends. It would also be preferable if the SatoshiDICE page on Blockchain.info/wallet were to let you know when you are making a wager that uses funds that have not confirmed. That way you would know not to count on a wager that shows a win as actually being a win until your wager actually confirms. [Edit: The My Transactions list in Blockchain.info/wallet shows each transaction made even if it was made through the SatoshiDICE page. You can see each transaction there and use that transaction id at SatoshiDICE to see what ended up happening.]

i dont get where i find the appdata-roaming-bitcoin That could be because the version of windows you are running doesn't have one, or perhaps because you are trying to use a file explorer that hides certain things, like this directory would be hidden. can someone please explain this to a two yr old plz?! Does this help? - http://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Data_directory#Windows

Not outside the U.S. and Canada there isn't. (at least not for the SMS wallet capability)
sending SMS is easy but then i would have to take a fee from the sender because sending SMS isnt free! do you think SMS is really needed? Do you see any pins on the map not in U.S. and Canada? (this map marks locations for a different metric but it was the only related visual I could easily find) - http://world.bymap.org/MobilePhones.htmlSo yes, there are many (read hundreds of millions, or billions even someday) of potential bitcoin users where only a feature phone with SMS / text messaging is used. The challenge though is a method that is secure (from spoofed SMS text messages though).

It's a laptop running 1 GHz 1GB of RAM and Vista using 256kb/s connection. Slow as computers go. I noticed it was fast at the beginning and got slower as it added more blocks. It was loading hundreds of blocks a second at first. Now, it takes two seconds per block. Ya, that's not suitable hardware for running Vista itself, nonetheless the bitcoin-qt for pulling a full blockchain. Even once it is caught up the blockchain verification will make the system appear non-responsive. It technically can work, it will just be very slow. I do feel that this is one aspect of bitcoins that isn't going to scale too well in the future as the block history keeps growing, and won't be compatible with mobile computing.
End users don't need to run the full blockchain. Multibit is an SPV client , and Bitcoin Wallet for Android is an SPV client for mobile. These pull block headers only on initial sync. And for those who do need the full blockchain: An upcoming release of the Bitcoin.org client will do a much better job at this but it is not even to the testing phase yet [Edit: just reached the "test-if you dare" phase] so that shouldn't be something you want to wait on.

wallet.dat (size 183Kb) database\log.0000027152 (size 10Mb) database\log.0000027153 (size 10Mb)
Yes, try launching bitcoin-qt (from the comand line) with those three files. If there is a problem the debug.log should give more info.

I could disable spending double spends completely but it might be advantageous in some situations e.g. if miners consider the fees from an entire chain of unconfirmed transactions when deciding which transaction to eventually include in a block. SatoshiDICE seems to have fixed the double spend problem for now though.
If I receive a bitcoin transaction, Blockchain.info/wallet lets me immediately turn around and use that coin in a wager on SatoshiDICE (or any other transaction). What I am requesting is that when this occurs using the SatoshiDICE page, that if there is at least one coin that will be used that has zero confirmations then the user gets reminded somehow that these wagers made with 0/unconfirmed sometimes are invalid (as SatoshiDICE payouts will only confirm if the wager itself confirms). - https://blockchain.info/wallet/login#send-satoshi-dice

which is better Bitcoin qt or blockchain.info for wallets? im asking because i recently had a problem with QT where i was getting an error loading block chain. it has been resolved thanks to a few amazing people on here. But i still beg the question?
Blockchain.info/wallet is much more convenient, and has a mobile app. There is an attack vector that if the site is compromised and you use the site, the attacker has your encrypted wallet and your password. Even Bitcoin-Qt isn't ideal for some purposes -- like storing large amounts in an offline / cold-storage wallet. (Use Armory for that.) Others might think Multibit is the best option as it requires no full blockchain download but is not reliant on any server.

Why just altcoins, add bitcoin transfers as well!

Well, it is looking like it doesn't do a whole lot. Typical KickStarter deals won’t naturally transfer to equity crowdfunding and the vast majority of startup founders won’t receive any help at all from the JOBS Act.
And even what little it does do, it doesn't look like it will be happening anytime soon (nonetheless January 3rd like many were projecting back when President Obama signed the bill in April): JOBS Act rulemaking is likely to be put on hold or at least slowed down in the interim. SEC Chair Schapiro to Step Down, Likely Delaying JOBS Act Crowdfunding - http://www.crowdsourcing.org/editorial/sec-chair-schapiro-to-step-down-likely-delaying-jobs-act-crowdfunding/21974[Edit: On a positive note, Bitcoin-enabled equity crowdfunding platforms (none of which are waiting for the SEC rules) are now here and more are being developed with at least one particularly good implementation arriving real soon now.]

is there problems with that my wallet was locked by passphrase?
After renaming successfully, if that error appears it might mean that the DB hadn't shut down properly, and now without the log files it cannot recover. But it isn't even getting past the rename it looks like. I don't know Windows 8 ..., is there such a thing as an "admin account" ?

Yesterday, I opened Bitcoin-qt.exe with the -loadblock= option. i can see the block chain has gone up by a few hundred megabytes. Today, it is still loading. it is no where near done. I estimate it will be finished by the Wednesday after tomorrow but not before. Is this normal? With hardware that performs poorly (CPU and storage) those numbers aren't unheard of but slower than it should be it seems. You aren't by chance using an encrypted filesystem, are you? Or have Dropbox trying to backup the blockchain at the same time as it is being created? Neither of those are good for bitcoin blockchain files. An upcoming release of the Bitcoin.org client will do a much better job at this but it is not even to the testing phase yet so tht shouldn't be something you want to wait on.

db.log Page 0: metadata page corrupted
[Edit: Did you launch which -detachdb first? I'm not sure if a new machine with the same name is the same as moving to a new directory but it won't hurt to try -detachdb.] That doesn't look good though. Do you have any other backups (even older backups would have the keys for the next 100 transactions that were made)? If not, you may want to try loading using the v0.6.x client and see if the problem persists with that release as well.
