So I got my C1 in this afternoon, everythingis together no leaks Thanks for the guide. The instruction that came with the cooling kit (and the wiring harness) state to plug it into the boards PCI-e slot... what the hell? I see you are showing opening up the miner and pluggins it into the fan control on the hashing board. Can you explain why you chose to power it there? wouldnt that regualate the pump and fan speed dependant upon temp? I am confused.... Well I cut the pci-e connector off the harness they sent and pigtailed it into the pci-e from the powersupply as I am pretty emphatic about connecting alll 8 pcie connectors I am using a 1300w evga supernova G2 the funny thing about this one is there are 6 pice leads and 2 of them have a double connector kind of like the lepa 850 i use on S3+ unit ----(6+2pcie)---(6+2pcie) so heres what i got connected PSU |-----------(pcie) Board 1 |-----------(pcie) Board 1 |-----------(pcie) Board 2 |-----------(pcie) Board 2 |-----------(pcie)----(6+2pcie)---(6+2pcie) Board 3 |-----------(pcie)----(6+2pcie)---(6+2pcie) Board 4 I am a little confuse about this PSU cable setup they advertised 8 x pcie 6+2 but when i get it there are only 6 plugins on the psu the last 2 those double cable As note did ordere a lepa 850w for a s3+ last week and its got the same cables and they advertise 4x pcie but only has 2 connectors on the psu for these double cables errr these damn PSU companies So 2 questions #1 the water system powering? #2 whats up with this damn psu and are these double cables okay? My guide shows the original harness that plugged into a fan header on the C1. The new header plugs into a PCI-E connector on the C1 instead so you don't have to open the case. The C1 uses 8x PCI-E 6 pin connectors, NOT 8 pin so don't worry about that.

Has anyone run two C1's on a single syscool cooling setup? One pump One Radiator?
I've seen others run one pump 2 radiators, so potentially you could. I wouldn't recommend it though. I want to know if anyone installed multiple C1 in series. For example, if you have 2 C1:
pump#1 > miner#1 > radiator#1 > pump#2 > miner#2 > radiator#2 > pump#1 > ...
I'm looking for redundancy if 1 pump die the miner can still run. Also, I'm looking to use a larger radiator for multiple miners and I want to know if it's a good idea to run them in series. In the end, I want to do something like this: pump#1 > miner#1 > pump#2 > miner#2 > badAssRadiator > pump#1 > ...
I know miner#2 will run hotter than miner#1 but in average they should run at the same temperature than having them run side by side with a splitter.
Its not a good idea to run two pumps in series, especially when one has failed. There is a larger syscooling kit designed for 4x C1s, designated as C2.

I appreciate the response but unfortunately there are no USB ports.
Isn't the T-110S just a downclocked and quieter version of the T-110? If so, there should be a USB port on the two boards, that you can connect to a computer. Very slightly clocked down, and with 2x quieter fans in place of several 1x loud fans. Ok so after almost an entire day i am left without a miner. I have no idea what is wrong with this thing. Anyone know of any miners in the East bay area (California)? Wondering if someone would be able to see this on their network. Thanks in advance
Are you not able to bypass the internal Pi and use a computer? Once you open up you can check what LEDs are visible on the Pi as well.

Not trying to attack bitmain at all. I did a lot of research before buying, and they had the reviews I liked. As far as my troubleshooting, you sound like my buddy. He said I just got unlucky and got bum units. Me being the optimist was hoping it was because I was trying to be cheap on PSUs. As far as asking for advise after 1st one I've read the responses most have and figured that wouldn't do me any good.
It looks like you didn't post the brand name or manufacturer of the power supplies. That can make a huge difference in getting help and identifying the problem. You need to see if the power supplies will work without any load on them. Use the paper clip in the motherboard connector method (examples abound, do a search for the details) and see if the power supplies power on at all anymore. If they do, use a voltmeter to see if it produces 12v on the required pins in the different connectors. Also look at the specs for the power supplies to see if the 12v supplied is on a single or multiple rails. You need single rail. Cheaper power supplies generally are multiple rail which will cause you problems. After you determine if the power supplies will power on at all, then open the S3's and see if there are any obvious burned components or traces on the printed circuit boards. It sounds like the power supply leads/traces may be fused into a short and that may have popped/trashed your power supplies. If there is any obvious internal damage open a support request with bitmaintech and work with them to see if it's a warranty repair or replacement situation. Just a word for the future: you're spending lots of money on a piece of equipment... don't scrimp on the power supply to run it, especially when sellers such as newegg.com have perfectly functional power supplies for reasonable prices and frequently offer rebate or discounts that make the power supplies even more reasonable in price. Look for at least a 500 watt power supply with the 12v on a SINGLE rail, not multiple. For a comfort margin and to operate the power supplies more efficiently, you may want to get a minimum 600 watt power supply. Just as a personal preference, one power supply per miner and I generally use CX500's or CX600's or even CX750's, but not the modular power supplies (they generally have 1 pci-e connector and you need 2 or more if over clocking). If you power multiple miners off a larger power supply and it tanks, you have multiple miners out of service. Yes I'm aware of this. The first 1 was a power supply claimed from an ancient computer. The 750 was a CHIEF MAX 750. I returned that. The 1000s were Kentek. I am not sure what happened to the first, it just smoked and stopped. But the fuse was good. The second one blew a fuse, so I unsoldered the good fuse but that went as soon as I plugged in with no load. So those ones are no good at all until I can get new fuses for them. As far as opening the cases, I did that and everything looks fine. Nothing visually wrong at all. I even went as far at to test for continuity in all the cables, very tedious. As far a Bitmain I am in contact with them. But progress is slow. I now have a modular PSU so each blade gets it's own rail. Also, The one that blew the three got so hot there's still pieces of the pin glued to the connector. I tried using both controllers in each miner and the results were the same. Nothing. I'm not sure if I should be asking for new boards or whole new units. I just want to mine some coin! Can you link to the exact 1000W PSUs you used please?

If it only was readable I tried using Google translate, looks like a "bitcoin failed" type post.

The two units in question never hashed at all, and came to my door not working and DOA so should not fall under warranty. Bitmain told me they are working on making it right with a return (this is not a repair). I don't understand why there is so much confusion when it is so simple, I ordered 4 brand new miners direct from bitmain, I just want 2 new replacements for the 2 that didn't work out of the box. I believe they are honoring my request so I am not complaining and giving them a chance to fix it.
Yes its being sorted by manager

9624819... getting close...
It'll still be a loooooong way before we actually reach 10M though. Maybe another month. You sure? Well, I don't know really. According to Quickseller, only around ~400k posts occur each month. So it'd make sense that it might take around another month. About 300k at the going rate, so almost perfectly a month or so: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=stats

I have Corsair AX860's running all of my S3's. They have a "hybrid/normal" switch. When I flipped that switch to "hybrid" on a couple of my PSU's, I had one board on several rigs stop working. My hashing power on each of those rigs cut in half. However, it worked fine when I turned off the power to the PSU and turned it back on. They would work fine for several hours. Then all of a sudden I get an alarm from the pool saying hash is down. I would look at the rig setting off the alarm, only to see the hashing rate was half of what it should be. It ended up being the "hybrid/normal" switch. When I flipped the switch to "normal," I have not had a problem ever since.
With that said, "Hybrid" probably limits the amount of power given to the rig once the PSU reaches a certain temperature. Hybrid makes the fan on the PSU turn at less RPM's. So, if you do not have Corsair's with a "hybrid/normal" switch, it may be your PSU is not sufficient at providing the power needed to the rig(s).
Still pay attention to Dogie. He knows what he's talking about.
Is it an AX or AXi? On the AXis you can toggle between single rail and multirail (which we don't want). It's the AX860. The only difference between the 2 models is one being able to connect to and control fan speed, etc... I suppose I should read the manual. I assumed hybrid helped it provide the same power while using less energy. LOL Nevermind, if its AX then its a form of fan control. Hybrid brings the fan RPMs down and will stop it at lower loads, where as normal prioritises low temps [PSU efficiency] over noise levels.

The past week I have been asking for an RMA # to return my U3 from Bitmain and others. I keep getting responses on where to send the U3 but never an RMA #. Do I need an RMA # or not?
Yes and no is the answer. How are you in contact with Bitmain? The have PM'd me on here in response to my PM where I explictly asked if I needed an RMA #, instead they just replied with an address for where to send it. I then called and left a message several days ago asking for an TMA # and no return phone call. I have been holding off for over a week now to send this back. If I don't need an RMA # they need to just say so so I can get this damn paper weight in the mail. As long as you include your original Bitmain order ID then you should be good to go. I'm unsure if BitmainWarranty is handling returns from 3rd party sales at the moment. PM them again if you're third party, if not you can send with order ID.

Wouldn't be much point, it would just become who controls the most alt accounts to skew the vote how they want. Unofficial discussion is better.

I can see your profile no problem, not sure if that's changed over time or you're still having problems yourself.

Thanks Mr Teal, if I explained it then I'd just get flamed. Can we please direct further dogie related accusations to the dogie accusation thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=905210.0. This thread is for a very different and specific issue.

Yeah, they are quite loud always running full clip but I've bought them to test the waters of mining and plan on upgrading if I can ROI on the cost of buying the 2 S1s used.
I like the C1s but have read about some issues with the pump
Its subjective, there's always going to be a small failure rate, but those pumps are so cheap you can literally buy 5-10 of them for the same price as one purchased locally and keep 4-9 as spares for the same money.

the username is "root", password is "admin". This miner uses the same controller type as the S2 S4 and C1 not the S1 and S3.

i did already (pm) the link youd posted is linking to the same server as mine does, so the problem is still the same im downloading with a max of 20kb/s, and the download always aborts after 1 to 2 hours besides all of that, i really appreciate your engagement in my topic, thanks No problem, have you not got anything out of BTCGarden?

Well I have decided enough of the fan is too loud and I am now going overclock. I placed the loud fan back in the original spot opened a window in the bedroom it runs in. The intake air is now about 50f or 10 c I added a second fan a 3 pin delta the can blow 148 cfm since it is 3 pin it runs 2800 rpm to 3200 rpm and I put the S-5 at freq 375 the noise is nuts and I won't be able to run this gear with this noise, but many people can run the gear in a shed or a barn and do not care about noise. this is a 10 minute run at freq 375 very nice numbers http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1024x768q90/661/gOZWdC.pngmine gave a board of all x's when i tried it at 375 Something which will happen on these miners that we haven't seen before is PSUs matter more than ever. There is going to a be a big difference in power consumption and overclockability depending if a perosn's PSU is 12.2V under load or 11.6V.

why are you quoting posts without making a comment? methinks this is not a spondoolies spam thread but the dogie spam thread, to where he should be sin-died for a period and not allowed to post in any other thread than this one. ... should I move this comment to META and make a proper proposal for it? Yup.
+1. We have seen this happen before.
Never admits his role in this whole mess.
If he'd just shut his yap then this would blow over and the SP20s reviews would have come and gone. But no now we have him bumping the crap out of Bitmaintech and his other clients threads and his own guides. I get it he wants to make money but at what point does the forum do something about it?
Blocked dogie from PM's and ignoring him from this point forward.
Funny just running up his count. Just because I have him BLOCKED and IGNORED doesn't mean I won't comment on his spam here. It is goes on day in and day out. Seriously at what point does the forum cull his threads back to 2 or 3? We get it he is a super hero and knows every product on the Earth. Sick of seeing it. Make a single thread and stop flooding the Hardware section with his threads. Too much of it. The moderators should either get a FORUM cut of his ads or cull his threads. They are losing ad revenue. I count 9 fresh posts from dogie that are on the first page. Imagine if it were a busy day to reply to newbs who mysteriously post on some older antminer guides I can't wait to see a complete page one all DOGIE. Define spam? 1 person with 10 threads or 10 threads from 10 people? Difference is the 10 people posting 10 threads say for review unit go away they don't keep posting everyday of the week... 365 days a year. They do get a cut of my ads, they have ads on my pages. I don't think you understand what is spam is. Spam is posts for the sake of posts, me replying to questions and requests for technical support from customers is not spam. I can't help it if I am more useful than you. Keep to the right thread please: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=905210.msg10005067#msg10005067
