Manebjorn,  Hunting is completely understandable and have no problems at all with hunters. I do appreciate your input on this being a hunter yourself  and understanding the problems with poaching.
The world has lots of people who do nasty things just as you pointed out "killing for horns"  I live in the mountains of Massachusetts where there are tons of hunters who feed their families with the meat. There are lots of poachers here too.   Alot of people don't realize the impact of poaching.
Hope you heal up well and be able to hunt again soon Smiley

I don't think anyone here is advocating poaching, but I do appreciate your concerns with the selling of uninspected meat.  I would definitely be leery of buying meat from someone on the internet.

Luckily I know a few hunters and I might be able to beg them for some leftover venison Smiley

Haven't had any in a couple of years though Sad

It's fine to use one PSU imo, I just had 2 of those lying around so why not. But with 2 PSU everything is rock solid stable and running for over a week with no issues what-so-ever.

I'll probably just buy two of the 1350W PSUs and then if the second one isn't needed, then I will just have to buy 4 more GPUs and build a second rig Cheesy
305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 820KHs per 280x - Config + SS on: January 29, 2014, 04:26:58 PM
PSU are dual Seasonic 1000w platinum

Hmm...

Maybe I will just do that instead of trying to get it all to fit on one PSU.   Seems like a little overkill on the cost vs hash ratio using two PSUs vs one.  I was hoping to get all 4 of them powered on one of these:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817194105

Thanks for all of the info.  This will be my first new rig, so I am getting excited.  I've just used 5000 and 6000 series cards on used motherboards and PSUs in the past. Hopefully all the endless hours of tweeking will come in handy Cheesy

How else can we afford to pay our soldiers to police the globe and fight wars on tyranny and genocide? Huh

My rigs run at 750kh/s per card for a total of 3mh/s and are pulling 985W at the wall, and I think there is still room for more optimization. Wink

Would you mind sharing your settings and which cards you are using?

This is what I was hoping to acheive.  I want to get 4 280x to run on a 1200W 80plus Platinum-rated Corsair PSU.

Just waiting on my paycheck next week to order the rest of the parts.
308  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 820KHs per 280x - Config + SS on: January 29, 2014, 03:33:57 PM
What PSU are you using?  I am going to be ordering the parts to make my first 280x rig next week, but was thinking a 1350W was going to be enough... guess I need to think bigger!

SilverStone ST1500 1500w.  I would highly recommend it.  Very good unit for the price.

Thanks, mate!  Going to order one now.

How long have you been running it continuously?
309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining Advice needed, thanks !! on: January 29, 2014, 03:28:20 PM
How much KHS is 1.5 2 mhs? is that 2000khs?

Yes.  2MH/s = 2000kH/s = 2,000,000 hashes per second Smiley

While I think it is cool that you know how to write your own script on the fly like this, I just wanted to let you know that there is a program out there that is extremely helpful in controlling your rig called CGWatcher.

Check it out here:

Hey guys im thinking to start mining. If I have 1500$ to spend, with how many days can I earn this back? Im a newbie so really dont know a lot yet about mining. Thanks

That line of thinking is going to be a road block if you don't want to lose your mind with mining.

You should be able to get 1.5-2MH/s with a $1500 budget, so maybe a few months.  Maybe a few weeks.  Maybe never.  Who knows for sure?

Play around with a calculator and build a list of parts and see how you can max our you hash rate and hope for the best Smiley

So your saying the hash rate is irrelevant , It's the shares submitted, Ok any pointers on how to increase my efficiency levels ?

It's not irrelevant. There is a direct correlation between hash rate and shares submitted. More hash rate, more shares, higher payout.

If you deconstruct it, payout is measured by shares.  Shares, however, are not measured by hashrate.  To give you a reading, pool operators provide a metric that shows you what hash rate on average would submit the shares at the rate in which your miner is currently submitting shares.

Efficiency levels?  Get your stales and rejects down.  I don't know why they are so high on this server.  H20 doesn't know either last time I checked, and that is much more important for him to work on than to explain to everyone on here how mining works.
316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 29, 2014, 04:40:39 AM

So your miners aren't reporting the right hash then ? Is that what you're saying ? I don't want to go to a different pool, I just want to know how or why it would happen.

Middlecoin Hashrate vs. CGMiner Hashrate

Your hash rate in a pool database is an estimation* based on the number of shares you have submitted.

*Difficulty 1024 = a shit ton of variance for a smaller rig

Your hash rate in CGMiner is an actual hashrate based on the number of hashes you have submitted.

Note:  I forgot about Chinese New Year, so it will likely be Late Feb until I have more.

We're still on hiatus until the workers get back to the factories from CNY.

HAH!  No wonder I am not getting any responses about another order with my PCIe riser peoples... forgot about CNY.

Thanks for the heads up on Microcenter.  There is one in Dallas I will have to check out Smiley
319  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Interest in a GPU Group Buy? on: January 29, 2014, 02:18:46 AM
Where are you getting them for under $200?!

Local computer stores. I just bought 4 from one (and depleted his stocks). But there's a bunch more where they came from. So I have on order a few more, just have to wait a bit.

Damn man good deal!  I tried scouring the local smaller computer stores around here last month but they were all sold out of anything worth a damn.  Might have to see if they replenished their stock before placing my next Newegg order.
320  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 29, 2014, 02:17:30 AM

No That's just the hash of two cards in WU: not my full hash rate, And I've been happily achieving 1.85-1.9 Mh/s for weeks, It's not like I don't know how much power I've got. it's clearly dropped a hell of a lot since yesterday

Alright well good luck.  Sounds like you are never going to be happy here though.

You should try hashcows or another pool if you just want something that is going to look pretty and match up with what CGMiner is saying...
