301  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to Improve Your Sports Betting Skills and Win More Bets? on: June 15, 2023, 10:16:31 PM

All the pointers that OP mentioned can only be achieved in a long-term betting experience. Not spoiling those but those pointers are totally not that effective if a bettor doesn't even know the actual experience of dealing in sports betting for long. It's easy to say for those experienced bettors.

Generally, to improve our sports betting skills "then take it as a habit".

As long as we lurk on sports betting for long, it's impossible that we don't make any improvement while progressing and advancing.

Building experience is the key. It might take time but surely, everyone would be there. Of course, losing is still common to happen but at least, it should be minimized. Although if at some point where a bettor takes sports betting as a habit and still not making any improvement, then I should say they still need more time to improve. Or at worst, shift their career now as sports betting might not really be their forte'.
302  Economy / Gambling / Re: Top 5 Advantages of Bitcoin Casinos vs. Traditional Casinos on: June 11, 2023, 07:57:35 PM

Hmm, the comparison doesn't make sense to me because in the first place, are there still traditional casinos today? Or you are referring to physical casinos? Still, the comparison doesn't make sense. If it's about online casinos in general, they are evolving and improving. Why compare an improve one to the classic one? Maybe if it's about comparing crypto-casinos against fiat casinos, that would make sense but still, as long as it's giving convenient to most gamblers, that's what matters here.

Security? Safe? Remember that if your money is a third-party platform, basically, not your keys, not your coins.

Regardless if playing on crypto-casinos or fiat casinos, always consider playing only on the platforms that already established a good reputation. If want to test new gambling sites, as long as they pass some of the good criteria of being a good casino, then we can consider testing the waters there.
303  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: June 11, 2023, 07:37:47 PM
Based on my observations, it seems that only a few fans here are watching the games. Unlike before, there used to be lots of updates in this thread every time there was a game.

It's because the PBA new season hasn't commenced yet. Currently, still on PBA On-Tour or Pre-season.

The PBA new season is expected to commence late this year as it adjusted its schedule because of Gilas participating in FIBA World Cup and ASIAN games. That also result again for PBA having only 2 conferences in a season, All-Filipino and the other one is still undecided for the import conference.

Back to that recent game between Magnolia and Ginebra, you can see that most Ginebra gunners aren't present there. On the other hand, it's good that Magnolia's Ian Sangalang is now returning in action after being benched out for the long-last Governors Cup.
304  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Casinos Include The Sport Spogomi In Their Platform on: June 11, 2023, 07:27:00 PM

Recognition first. Bookies won't add something if there's no good betting market.

Possibly, it should appear first at local bookies. But as time progresses, and if that event will be more recognized, maybe there's a chance that it can be added now by most bookies. Reading more details about the event specifically the World Cup version, I think there's a big chance that some bookies might add it in the future.

Not as the usual sport event but the same as how we see bets on such general events (e.g. US Pres. election bet etc.).
305  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 10, 2023, 09:05:25 PM
In any case, right now Jokic is unstoppable and he is on the way to win the title, he deserved it and he should have been MVP again as well if you ask me but he doesn't look like the kind of guy who cares about it at all, so FMVP must feel better.

Majority of the Denver Nuggets games starting from playoffs and to the current NBA Finals, there is no such thing where we can see Nikola Jokic having a worst night. As I mentioned previously, even on some games where they lose, Jokic is still ended up having a good production. And take note, not just his stats in offense but also having a good stats on his defensive end.

That's how versatile Jokic is and almost an all around player as a bigman at both offensive and defensive phase. There should be no such thing as statement as 'he deserved the Finals MVP'  because Jokic is really to bound to become the Finals MVP even before the Finals starts. Smiley
306  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wagering requirements for withdraw on: June 10, 2023, 08:42:42 PM
Now there are a lot of casinos that make sticky bonuses and maximum withdrawal deposit bonuses. Therefore, be careful before making a deposit and taking a bonus.

Isn't that just a usual thing already?

To say be careful is like you considered that as a trap. Not exactly though.

It's just common to see decent deposit bonuses or promotions where the required turnover or wagering requirement is not that difficult to achieved although in return, you can only withdraw a maximum required amount.

At most cases, the application for that is not automatic therefore users are free to ignore that bonus and instead, use the nornal deposit so they can withdraw anytime if target profits or being satisfied have been reach.
307  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: June 10, 2023, 05:25:03 PM
So now there's no more guessing whether the fight is going to push through or not and it's good to hear that finally we have date.

July is going to be a bigger month for boxing, this one, and after a week, Fulton vs Inoue and then Crawford vs Spence.

Nice update, bro.

At last, Nonito Donaire Jr. will now return to the ring officially as it's now over a year since his last fight, June 7, 2022 to be exact, in a rematch against Naoya Inoue where he loses for a second time. He's now in the retirement period therefore being idle for long is not a good thing anymore to him.

We can now finally see if Donaire can still keep up with some boxers from 118 now that Inoue is out of the division. This fight might also be the fight where he will decide what's next on his boxing career, to continue if he wins or to call it a game already if he loses.

On the other hand, a big break on Santiago's side as he did got the chance to be a title contender right away without the needs of climbing into the top ranked.
308  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you use a VPN on a casino, even if it is not allowed in their ToS? on: June 10, 2023, 05:11:30 PM
When a gambler knowingly takes the risk and knows that his account may be blocked, then the gambler has to rely entirely on luck. Many gamblers are actually forced to use a VPN because gambling websites are illegal in their country, which leaves the gambler with no other options and starts gambling out of fear of losing their account. And then some gambling websites capitalize on this weakness of the gamblers and make various excuses to freeze the winning funds of those gamblers.

For that, if the said gambling site really prohibits the use of VPN to access their platform, we can't call it as excuse anymore as why they freeze users account. I don't know the situation of those users who reside in a country where online gambling is illegal but I can't imagine they really putting themselves at risks since it's not just the policy and terms of the gambling site they are violating but also the law of their country. They will faced charges if caught.

We need someone here on these countries where online gambling is illegal to tell us how they deal with online gambling.

I become curious.
309  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Confident Are You In The Reliability of the KYC system on: June 10, 2023, 04:56:49 PM

If the said gambling site declined or reject the KYC done by the concern player, they should at least provide a clear reason why it ended up fail. Also in case of failure,  they shouldn't have the authority right away to just touched the user account balance. More attempts should be given to the user until finally able to submit a clear requirements. They can't just say 'declined' without any reason.

I don't mind undergoing a KYC in the event that it was asked to me as long as it was reasonable to be asked, obviously. But honestly, it doesn't really make sense to me that when a user won a big amount, they will subject right away to KYC but what else can we do? Their site, their rules.

I just hope thought that no bulls*it will happened on the proces and the said casino site will be fair and square.
310  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 09, 2023, 10:52:02 PM
Also Adebayo shouldn’t be switch when guarding Jokic. This is their weakness since they letting mismatch on Jokic during switch.

To be honest, there's no one from the Miami Heat that can slow down Nikola Jokic. He needs to be contained, at least, always with the help defense.

Jokic is consistent in his numbers since Game 1 and even with the Nuggets' Game 2 loss, he was still unstoppable at that game, whoever was assigned to put some defense on him. Aside from that, that switch you are referring to will always be bound to happen and Adebayo can't just focus on Jokic most of the time. That will make him exhausted as he's also providing good numbers in offense. It's hard to defend Jokic in a post-up.

Might be the only way for Miami Heat to have an edge against the Denver Nuggets is, if Jokic won't get support much from his teammates.

The question is, will that really happen for the Nuggets?
311  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: June 09, 2023, 09:30:11 PM
I believe the over will likely hit most of the time since this is just an exhibition game. There seems to be less defense or no defense at all being imposed by both teams.

Difficult to give some pointers and fearless forecasts regarding that since PBA games today might not be taken seriously. Or it's better to say that, teams are serious but not to the point that they will give and showcase their aggressiveness to the full.

Even though let's say there's no pure defense, if both teams have the worst shooting night, the Over might not be covered.

For pre-games, it might be better to risk money on handicap or point spread, that is if that's available pre-game. Not really a fan of betting mostly on tune-up games, even in the NBA, as my fearless analysis can't be applied there. Smiley
312  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: June 09, 2023, 08:50:12 PM

And it now happened, WBA Super Bantamweight Champion Marlon Tapales might now be the PH boxer who has the chance to face Naoya Inoue first, instead of the expectation of the majority, that it's Casimero who is currently still climbing the 122 division rankings. Of course, Tapales meeting Inoue soon will just happen if the latter will win against Fulton.

If Stephen Fulton wins against Naoya Inoue, Marlon Tapales instead will unify his belt against him. If Fulton still wins, Tapales might meet Inoue as both will be a contender but the status of Casimero when that time comes might still be hanging because he can't even secure a big fight "for now" to somehow give him a chance to climb at a much higher rank.

There's also a possibility that later in the 122 division, a PH vs PH might face each other.

Well then, too early for these speculations mine Smiley. What matter here is, Tapales is now almost secured to have the next big fight on his timeline.
313  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is There A Time That You Calculated All Your loses In One Year on: June 09, 2023, 08:25:59 PM

Regarding online gambling, is there really a person who will put an effort to calculate all their losses in a whole year?

I mean, for what? What's the significance of doing that in the first place? Maybe just for the record or something fun? But just imagine the effort it needs, especially for regular gamblers. Aside from that, most gamblers are not playing only on a single site. That was a hassle thing to do.

Aside from that, thinking those losses will just create lots of "if only" in our mind, e.g. I should have a car now, I should have my own house now, etc.

Personally, for me, and no offense to those who are really doing that for real, that is something non-sense for me. No way it can help me in my gambling journey and it might just result in a distraction. Let's focus on current things and take those losses as a reference to become a better gambler managing our bankroll.
314  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how to get over it on: June 09, 2023, 07:58:53 PM
How do I get over the countless failures? I’ve been chasing the $1,000,000 dream for years.

To tell you honestly, only you can help yourself on how to get over it.

You have been there already, experiencing big, turning an average amount of bankroll into a decent one, etc. Those experiences should teach you already and realize what's the best thing to do in your future betting.

As a bettor that has the guts to risk a big amount, I'm sure you already know what's the best thing to do especially when winning but your greeds overcome you and affect your ability to think right. You are always going all in and disregarding the risks. In other words, you are pushing for something that depends on your luck.
.
You are chasing a big dream thru gambling? That might not be a good idea.
315  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which League Makes Sports Betting Easy to Win? on: June 08, 2023, 11:55:55 PM
Can anyone share their experience with betting in these other leagues and make a comparison between betting there and betting in the Champions League, EPL, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie Do not mention match fixing(it has been earlier pointed out), but talk about which is easier to win in and how much you made in comparison.

Simple as it is, if I'm not familiar with other leagues, I have no interest in betting on those. Why should I?

As a sports bettor for a long, I'm not that bettor who considered betting on other leagues that I didn't know about or just because some popular and successful bettors on that field advised me to do so. I do care for my money that's why I will stick only to familiar leagues.

Let's not make this discussion too much technical. If bettors really want to consider placing bets on other leagues that don't know, they should understand all the associated risks and not just by following a certain popular tipster or streamers.
316  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Apple Vision Pro and its Implication in Online Gambling on: June 08, 2023, 11:40:27 PM
I wonder what this means for the gambling industry, the gambling experience, and gambling addiction. I would like us to discuss this topic. Gambling with this device would make it feel like you are in a casino. I am pretty sure the experience would be out of this world - the visuals, the sounds, the overall feel. On the other hand, it seems that it could be easy for a gambler to lose track of time while using the device because the immersive experience might make it difficult to see or be aware of the time, leading to a potential increase in gambling addiction. The odds against the player won't change, only the experience. Please share your thoughts on this matter.

Might be a good innovation but I believed most gamblers aren't interested in that kind of stuff. Why should they need that kind of stuff in the first place? It won't even change the odds of winning as you said. It's like the use of VR technology wherein I can say, doesn't even have any impact on the overall gambling experience.

I'm sure it won't be a game-changer in gambling. Those rich guys might just buy it for recognition or because they are hype.

Gamblers are gamblers and they only care for profits. Maybe for those gamblers who are into physical casinos before, they might want that stuff.
317  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever felt remorse after gambling? on: June 08, 2023, 11:30:00 PM
I saw this online and thought maybe i should bring on to bitcointalk for discussion.

If a person gamble and at the end of the game he starts to feel remorse is that a good thing or should the person be on alert?

It depends on the results, obviously if that person is winning how come he will end up feeling remorse? On the other hand, if the results are unfortunate, it's just common to feel sorry or regret as to who wants to experience losing in the first place.

Anyways, it's not a big deal to start with since that's human nature or should I say, just a common approach.

They can go back to gambling whenever they want but being responsible should always be the priority.
318  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: would you play more on casino when your country plans to ban BTC? on: June 07, 2023, 11:56:40 PM
while your country plans to ban crypto trading but online gambling legal, you'll gonna to decide what to do with coins.  would you go play your coins to accumulate or just withdraw and wait for the government to change stance?  no other option.

There are alternatives if I really want to continue the use of crypto for my gambling although I should understand the risks as it's now illegal.

It's hard to adjust that suddenly I will stop using crypto when our country is crypto-friendly since the inception of bitcoin, especially in my gambling activity. If there's really no way to use crypto or the law is really strict about using it, no choice but to gamble with fiat as what else I can do?

But for now, I don't really know what will be my approach if that's the actual situation here since I never really imagined my country will ban crypto.
319  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bankroll management discussion on: June 07, 2023, 11:42:59 PM
Are using a fixed percentage on your bets or you are just betting random amount? Also do you deposit your total bankroll and just withdraw if you are on target profit or stop loss or you are just depositing exact amount of money for your gambling without extra.

Betting a random amount is a suicide bet to me. Why add other risks over risks?

We are already depending on our luck, therefore, make a way to somehow be responsible for our bankroll. Depending on my bankroll on that specific session, I followed my own betting amount strategy then there's a certain tier before I will consider placing a much higher bet.

Others will surely say, we are just gambling for fun, therefore no need for any bankroll management or something. That's a crap thing for me and maybe they are just casual gamblers. It's more fun if we manage properly our bankroll and in the end, are able to secure good profits without being aggressive for more. On the other hand, if bad luck happened, then just stop and come back next time for another session, for our bankroll not to suffer from too many loses.
320  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 04, 2023, 06:01:33 PM
Maybe if the series shifts to the home court of the Miami Heat, we can see how good the Nuggets team really is. But for now game 2 will still be in their home court, so they are that confident to go up 2-0. But the Heat is not done in this series yet, I mean they have been in this situation before and for sure they will need to come up with another strategy collectively with Jimmy as their leader.

Honestly, I don't consider home-court advantage as a big factor in these playoffs, for most teams, especially if we refer to both Denver Nuggets and Miami Heat. We should clearly see already that the Nuggets are already good regardless of playing at home or away. If they will win again in Game 2, the homecourt advantage just plays a small role as they won purely thru their overall good performance.

Others keep saying too that in order for Miami Heat to at least take over Nuggets, Jimmy Butler needs to turn beast mode. That's something he really should but to tell you guys, that is not enough as we are talking about dealing with the Denver Nuggets here. Miami Heat shouldn't be carried by their key scorer/s most of the time for the entire series. Denver Nuggets is a complete team right now and almost the entire starters are doing well. Miami Heat should also do the same, no matter what.

Remember that it's not just the losing team that is doing some adjustments every other game, the winning team is also doing the same.
