3081  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [GUIDE][TUTORIAL][XMR,ETH,ETN]How To Mod Bios RX470/570/480/580 VEGA Mining 💰 on: March 02, 2018, 07:06:53 PM
To everyone who is hesitating to BUY the mining BIOS.
If you already invested in your graphics card, this investment is really a NO brainer.
Got my rates up significantly.
This is easily one of my best investments for mining.  Cheesy

Hi, can you say how much of a difference you are noticing?  Bad memory chips I get 27.5 mh while samsungs can get 31mh... if a Great BIOS timing can get me +1mh/s I am happy... if I get 0.5mh then I am not sure its worth the trouble?

Well, if you have 1000 cards, 0.5MH/s per card is still worth as 3 full rigs Smiley
3082  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Expanse (EXP) - 1st Stable fork of Ethereum on: March 02, 2018, 06:13:40 PM

Exchanges will love it...more volume, more fees for them to collect Cheesy

Strange thing though, usually volume like that meant 200% increase, not 20%
3083  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: looking for VRM efficiency tests on: March 02, 2018, 05:53:03 PM
I noticed GPU-Z reports a VRM efficiency of just ~70% for my newest cards (MSI 580), all while my MSI RX 470 report a VRM efficiency of ~90%
it's not something I've paid attention to before, but it seems the reported VRM efficiency drops when you undervolt.

It's possible this is just calculations being skewed by the undervolt and not a real efficiency drop, I've not tested at-the-wall impact.

Interesting...maybe easiest way would be to ask GPU-Z developers how they calculate that value Smiley

Hi Branko. Could you share good timings for such cards, please?

I put it in this thread so other people can google stumble into it Smiley

3085  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Radeon™ RX 560 Gaming OC 4G (rev. 1.0) 16.3MH/s bios on: March 02, 2018, 05:39:45 PM
Someone asked so here it is...this BIOS is for this card only (not v2, which is worse, but you can probably try same strap
with lower hashrate)

https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-RX560GAMING-OC-4GD-rev-10#kf

BIOS link:

https://goo.gl/QikERJ

Your result may vary (silicon lottery, worse cooling - because I replaced thermal paste with Arctic Cooling MX3, as
original one is not good at all, etc)

I played a bit more and managed to get hashrate to flow between 16.5 and 17.1 in Phoenixminer, but with
some memory errors in HWinfo , so I consider this the best I managed to get)

3086  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: March 02, 2018, 12:34:36 PM

80$ for Maidsafe withdrawal from Hitbtc exchange.

Incredible...why people keep coins on that exchange at all if withdrawal fees
are so big? Or is it maidsaefcoin alone with such big fee?

3088  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: March 02, 2018, 11:42:48 AM
i think ripple will go up again in the long term but litecoin has more potential

Litecoin failed to deliver with litepay, hence going down a lot last few days
3089  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Etherium Classic - Callisto airdop 5th of March 2018 on: March 02, 2018, 10:09:45 AM
I think so we wont see any pumps. We are glad to be doing the airdrop. then we have no gain. We are having trouble accessing the wallets, the stock exchanges are closing themselves.
Nobody gives us the earnings we deserve. They are always trying to make a problem

Actually you should never store any coins in exchange-wallets anyway.
You'll always get your airdrops and if the exchange gets hacked or shuts down you won't lose all of your coins if you store your coins in a cold-wallet with access to your own private-key.

Many people lose their keys and wallets because they're lazy, not doing backups etc
Or lose it due to some natural disaster...or someone hacks THEIR computer/mobile phone

So solution is to use your own wallet, but also put much more energy into keeping it safe,
which is hard for not tech savvy people
3090  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining [EXP] Expanse as top on Nvidia and AMD mining...Worth to try? on: March 02, 2018, 08:55:24 AM
Expanse EXP seems to be mining #1 mining altcoin right now on every GPU. Is worth to try move all rigs there? Or can be another Pump and Dump?

If you sell immediately part or all mined coins for BTC or fiat, then of course, its good idea to mine EXP

I also think its good long term project, so one more reason to mine it Smiley

This could be reason for price jump (guy has lots of followers, and EXP is low cap project)

3092  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Merit "trading" - buying and selling Bitcointalk merit on: March 02, 2018, 08:18:26 AM
My only problem with the system is that people who was 1 week away to next rank must gather months worth of Merit, couldn't be more unfair.

I don't see people giving each other merit.

I had proposal that they don't give flat default merit based on your current level but also how CLOSE you're
to next one, but of course, I got bashed hard by people that just leveled...someone with account
3 days older than mine is sr. member now with 250 merit, and I'm full member with 105 (default 100
at day of merit invention) and based on current rate, I need 3 years to get next rank

3094  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX 560 4GB Ethereum on: March 01, 2018, 08:45:10 PM
This card is perfect for Cryptonight! Best profit. I have tested on dagger also, but I was disappointed, 14.9 Mh/s, Powercolor AXRX 560 4GBD5‐DHV2/OC .

Thats still half the hashrate of rx580, and way cheaper, at least here in Croatia...3-4 times cheaper
3095  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PhoenixMiner 2.6: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Windows) on: March 01, 2018, 08:20:26 PM
how does one "steal" something that's opensource? lol. seems contradictory.

By using it in closed source project which is usually against open source license?
3096  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX 560 4GB Ethereum on: March 01, 2018, 08:17:27 PM
what memory and vendor are better in Eth (+ biosmod)?

3098  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: March 01, 2018, 01:04:40 PM

Its never too late to join the party because the price still is $1, I would consider it high if XRP cost more than 10$ each. 10$ each however may seem very ambitious, it sure would take years and years before this will happen but if adoption takes place, it might just happen faster than we thought that we might not be able to buy at $5.

I agree.
Ripple has shown adoption and real life application and thats its main reason for being in the top 5
Adoption wise, I Ripple has a huge upside potential because you can see it already happening at a very small scale.
I am not too fond of their coin circulation set up
but it really would't matter If its something that the big banks need.

They probably made huge number of coins because they're supposed to get burned
after been used by transactions, so once things kick into high gear, supply would
be spent too fast otherwise
3099  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 6x Aorus RX 580 4gb Elpida hashrate problem on: March 01, 2018, 12:57:49 PM

Now is clearly.
but sometimes I'm feel confusing, newest PBE version come s with one click strap copy but many people here still trying to flashing their Polaris cards with downloaded bios from anywhere.

Probably because those straps have their own set of problems sometimes? Smiley

If you read posts here a lot, you'll often find that people sometime get unstable
cards after using one-click bios patch straps
3100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 6x Aorus RX 580 4gb Elpida hashrate problem on: March 01, 2018, 12:32:01 PM
if only for reference it's ok but if you suggest the other for using your modifying bios, is not recommended. because every bios have the different version.

Of course, its always best to modify original BIOS, when I used to sell bios-es I always asked
for original BIOS even if I worked on "same" card before

However, if P/N from bios and one inside your card match, its pretty probable it will work OK
