I had found a new better memory strap for Elpida RAM. More than 1kh/s cryptonight xmr ! ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) RX 470 : 1020 h/s , sgminer @1250 core, @2100 mem, 66W (gpu-z) 942 h/s , @1150 core, @2050 mem, 52W (gpu-z) 777000000000000022AA1C00AC615B3CA0550F142C8C1506006004007C041420CA8980A9020004C 01712262B612B3715 I donīt know the eth hash speed. ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) Maybe somebody can check it ? This strap is bad. Both of my cards bsod hard with it. Also its slower and runs with more power. Trfx and ras2ras are too tight. I often see TRFC and ras2ras for elpida straps at that value Its actually default value for 1500MHz strap Make it better My bad, i didnt say that properly. The trfc and ras2ras for xryptonight is nearly useless, you lose about 10h/s when going to 150 for example. But the power cons drops by 5watts. Thats for cryptonight. Also, all trcd values are not properly done, the A value should be the same as the non A one. Make it better ! I test so much straps, and that are the best, I can find. Good idea ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) And shame you have no merit, despite helping people a lot, so let me give you first one

why are you guys purchasing 560 gpus?
they give only 1$ per gpu!!
Because they pay off twice as fast as 570 or 580 because for the price of one rx580, you can buy four 560s? So, after you apply some math to all this, you actually earn twice as much for same money invested

This is what I do - despite what people say on Windows 10 you don't need dummy hmdi plugs, instead if your motherboard supports it force on-board graphics (so no graphics go via the cards you are mining with), and allow Windows 10 to detect the cards in device manager normally. When adding new cards always and I mean always (this has cost me hours) uninstall the AMD drivers with DDU, then install the blockchain drivers fresh. Lastly I've had much better results for AMD cards with OverdriveNTool instead of Afterburner etc. I support this, wattman and OverdriveNTool are only ones that always worked for me, direct OC from miners and AB and Trixx get broken often...only if you don't upgrade drivers, use AB or trixx

When CPU is used for mining, 1 core per 2MB L3 cache is optimal
When GPU is used, do miners use similar "tactic", for example
2mb GDDR5 per shader...so in case of RX580 which has
2304 shaders, that means 8GB card is better than 4GB?
Is intensity parameter in miners somehow correlated to
number of shaders?

Tell me again why you deserve to be ranked up. You shouldn't have even made it to Full Member.
Please stop lying, I never said I deserve it. I just said if purpose is to make it fair, it should treat everyone equal, and current system doesn't do that. I don't see how purposefully cherrypicking some of my posts to make me look bad contributes to the health of forum, either Everyone is not equal. Users in this community earn merit/respect/trust based on value they add to the community over time. I'll be honest, I have no clue what "rank" I am. The users who know me know the value I add to the community. EDIT: Just looked. I got a merit point! yay. Yes, but thats the case only recently, since merit is introduced. And if you didn't know whats your rank, you would not know how to choose DeepOnion signature ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

While I agree with you, I also think default merit should be given in a better way...proportionally to days/posts maybe.... this way someone who just got Full member status and me, few days before reaching Senior member, got same starting merit points, so I'm actually slowed down lot more
I do not think the default merit should have been given in a different way. I'm not saying it's perfect, but "days/posts" would not have been a better way of doing things. It is unfortunate for the people that were about to rank up and deserve to be ranked up, but I'm going to be honest with you; most of the people complaining about this exact scenario are people who do not deserve to be ranked up and may never rank up with the current system. This tells me that merit is working exactly as it is intended to. If you truly are deserving of that rank, you should earn the merit in no time, plus what's the rush? Ranks do not mean much, and won't mean much until the merit system has a chance to settle in and the older high-ranking accounts that don't belong are weeded out. My main point, slowing you down has done no harm to your forum experience, but it has improved the overall health of the forum by stopping spammers in their tracks (in terms of ranking up). What you say doesn't make much sense, because you just told me that if my account was 10 days older, I would deserve to be Senior member, but because I didn't sign up 10 days earlier, I deserve it to be postponed few years? ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Ranks mean a lot if you're into bounty campaigns

The old system had flaws .
Post a few times a week and make rank.
Have multiple accounts create a few threads and in a year. Of posting to yourself and your alts you can have three or four good looking accounts.
In two years you would have hero accounts.
In three or four years you have legendary accounts .
You then can do some nice rip offs. Yeah it would be long but if done correctly a lot could be stolen.
I escrow . I have a legendary account I have escrowed 50k in usd.
I think there is a fear of someone doing a long con with the old system.
All the senior guys now have a long delay to be a hero so maybe they will be stopped from scamming.
If 1 in 20 seniors are looking to reach hero to scam they will be slowed a lot.
While I agree with you, I also think default merit should be given in a better way...proportionally to days/posts maybe.... this way someone who just got Full member status and me, few days before reaching Senior member, got same starting merit points, so I'm actually slowed down lot more

where are you from ? RX cards aren that cheap here.
Croatia...RX560 is about 1100 our money, and 1060s are 3000+
|
|

of course you should take amd rx 570, because this is the optimum card, for example MSI RX570 gaming has hynix memory and speed 30-30.5mh/s for ETH, but cost much less then RX580! why pay more? with RX560 you'll have to spend more for PSU, memory, cpu, mainboard and so on
thank you for advices. I saw rx 570 selling for 420Eur, what you think is it good price? Not sure where you live, but I bought my msi RX580 - 8GB for 300 euro and my sapphire RX580 - 8GB for 350 euro. So I guess you can find them cheaper wow, really nice prices ! In my country these cards are minimum 400Eur... Sapphire RX580 8GB SE is 600 here, lol

Bump.
So far I gave a merit point away. I will give away 24 more.
I'm afraid I don't understand how this works, but good luck anyway ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) And it sucks that merit system came into play like a week before I leveled to Senior member, lol

Anyone deciphered yet whats in those three seq_misc parts of strap?
I think it was already discussed. They are mode registers. MC_SEQ_MISC1 (MR1/MR0) MC_SEQ_MISC3 (MR5/MR4) I'd have to go back through my notes and code to confirm if MISC8 is mode registers as well. I was just curious, as if thats the case, those would hold for example WRITE latency and CAS latency, but it seems people never modify them, just use default value (at least that seems to be the case for all the straps I saw circulating around)

650mh/s with 72 DDR3 memory? Its Simply Nonsense, and I tell u why: So what we know is the RX 580 has 192Gb/s bandwidth and able to perform ~30mh/s Well if we choose the best DDR3 memory with 1866Mhz (1866000000 Hz) then we can calculate 1 ddr3 memo chips's bandwidth. It's has a 64bit lane so 1866000000*64*8/1024/1024/1024=14.9 GB/s this is 1 DDr3 memo chip's bandwidth. 14.9*72=1074 Gb/s this is the total memory bandwidth with 72 ddr3 chip. So 1074/192*30= ~168 Mh/s this could be the maximum eth mining performance with 72 ddr3 chips. Everything else is bullshit. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Maybe difference between GDDR5 and DDR3 affects your formula, too? Ethash algorithm maybe actually favor DDR3?
