321  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What Makes DIVI Unique and Exceptional? on: February 23, 2021, 10:32:47 PM

Not so exceptional when you look at its price. It's not a very unique protocol, there's been a project like this before and failed to launch. You are not going to also get this token easily as well. Masternode isn't practical as well, not everyone can afford to pay a server for their masternode and this will end up to only the people who can afford who will be staying with DIVI.
Yes, that is true for most masternodes but DIVI is exceptional because it is about to launch a mobile wallet that will allow users to set up any of its 5 tiered masternode without necessarily purchasing a server or requiring 24/7 internet.

That's interesting. ITs a good alternative to those masternode coins so when is this going to happen?

I have not read everything about DIVI, the only thing I know is the basics like the Smart Wallet. For someone who is not a follower, this isn't a big potential.
About the 5 tiered masternodes, how much DIVI should one have if he plans to set up on mobile?
322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: A bug in brave browser that exposes users information on its Tor window on: February 23, 2021, 09:36:42 PM

I don't see a reason why there is the need to use for Brave browser unless you really wanted to earn the BAT tokens if not then forget about it. Earning BAT meant submitting your data as well to the Brave team which is also the hacker team. Not against the team but there will be rotten apple among them and could possibly hack the crypto on your wallet.

324  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A friend of me got hacked and lost 3000waves on: February 22, 2021, 08:20:20 PM

How come the hacker did plushed all your waves, there's still 799.55306958 WAVES inside, your friend needs to login to get that amount back at least.

There are indeed projects in waves that are asking for private keys which is why I don't join on it particularly the waves.exchange where you can stake and earn weekly. If it asked for a private key, you may really be cautious.
325  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the best way to "secure" your coins? on: February 21, 2021, 08:19:12 PM

DAI must be the safest but I think the stablecoins are just as safe as they are, Tether for instance is just so big that it probably will just pay the SEC if they get sued.

The issue with moving it to USD or stablecoin is that the purchasing power of USD is also diminishing and there is no way of seeing how low it can go yet. But if you just want to secure it, then just keep it in a wallet that you have they private key.
326  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it right time to Buy Alt coins now? on: February 21, 2021, 06:59:30 PM
Right now I can say it's the best time to buy altcoins. Most altcoins had actually blown up already especially BNB. Tokens that are not very known to people had also shown signs of pumps.  BTC going up means altcoins are also gonna go up, although it doesn't always work that way, the bull market is just something that makes everything rise.
327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: ETH private key issue (EtherDelta) on: February 21, 2021, 06:18:13 PM
You should try to connect yourself on Forkdelta instead of Etherdelta. On the other hand until and unless you remember the proper keys of your Ac you won't be able to access your account. If only one alpha or numeric key is shuffled you can not access your Ac.

When I made my EtherDelta account back in the days I instantly copied all the info to a notepad file on an USB
so I am just copying the exact private key from there and it's not working on Forkdelta and neither on myetherwallet

but I guess i should just forget about the few beers hehe

If you have already imported to other wallets like Metamask and still don't work, your keys must have been incorrect. There is no other way to access your wallet but the private key and if it's wrong then nothing left to do. You're not the only one who thought of checking back the wallets we have because we have some tokens there left hoping to get at least the $45 worth of ETH is not worth more than $300.

328  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it really a benefit that nobody controls the price? on: February 21, 2021, 05:31:54 PM

I like crypto but, as a merchant and business owner, price volatility keeps me from accepting it. The price is heavily influenced by hype and FUD and I can't afford to lose half my wealth from a random crash. And what would it do to the global economy if everyone blindly jumped in without some sort of protection from a massive loss of wealth?

Solution- price limits!

If even one crypto exchange in the world adopted a policy to limit the prices of buy and sell orders to within a small percentage of the daily opening price, say +/- 1% for example, volatility would disappear. Bitcoin is currently priced around $50k, this would limit Bitcoin volatility to no more or less than $500 a day.

Here's how the market would react.
1. If the price of a coin is lower on other exchanges, traders will buy from them and sell on this, right? That will cause the price on those exchanges to rise.

2. If the price is higher on other exchanges, traders will buy from this exchange to sell on those, right? That will cause the price on those exchanges to fall.

This means the market will keep correcting itself until all prices are closely pegged to the prices on this exchange.

Nobody controlling the price means decentralization which is what everyone desires in the crypto sphere. It provides an opportunity for all. Your problem can easily be solved if you will just accept stablecoin, it's nothing but just pegged to a dollar.

But since you have the desire to accept BTC, that means you are also looking for an opportunity to profit when prices are running up. So why complain?

329  Economy / Economics / Re: Economist predicts demise of global central banks on: February 19, 2021, 05:03:33 PM
Although there are quite a few good points being told/shown in this argument, I just find it quite hard to believe since it is leading to surreal claims. Plus the number of claims as such happened many times before already. Although I got to admit, the thought of this coming true is quite scary in a way. If it ever came true, a lot will he affected and chaos would take over(maybe). But really, things like this shouldn't be taken seriously and just rely more on experience and what you can be sure of and can be confident enough.

And it's already happening right now. The central banks could be the ones stacking Bitcoin already preparing for what is coming. but I think they are already prepared for this fall. They are not going to just give up on what is theirs, they had foreseen this coming as if they are the ones resetting all these.

They could even be the ones planing the covid19 and the timing for the winter, all these will really make the economy fail plus the political instabilty.
330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: will Binance be the next Ethereum? on: February 19, 2021, 04:27:39 PM
Not what many had expected though. There used to be threads like Polkadot the next ETH or Cardano, it's what users could come up with whenever there is a new token that beats the top ones.

I have no idea how many ERC20 tokens are migrating to BEP20 but i have not seen any significant token that tried on BEP. It could be that investors are buying BNB all because they trade on Binance and it's all for low fees than UNI.
331  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How did people buy bitcoin and other cryptos back in the old days? on: February 18, 2021, 06:59:52 PM
I started buying in late 2013 and there were major exchanges then, wasn't any harder than it is today. Was probably harder back in 2011. I think Mt Gox did the majority of the global volume back in 2011 so basically you'd just go use Mt Gox I'm guessing.

I wasn't here yet back in 2011. I'm sure it's harder for someone in a country where there is yet no online banking.
The currency exchange forum is already active during that time, those who have thought of buying BTC could just be using Paypal. It's what brought me here in the forum actually since I heard so much about Bitcoin so I head over here to try it and then learn to join a campaign.
332  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Rise of Bitcoin, Fall of Dollar on: February 18, 2021, 06:16:05 PM
1BTC will always be 1BTC it can't go up or down but its value.
I'm sure it's about the dollar falling in value due to the government printing for stimulus. The finance companies are trying to hedge and the adoption just happens to align itself to lift the price of BTC. Maybe consider the pandemic as well because it's the reason why they printed so many bills that devalues it as well.

333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen if the major holders of bitcoin all decided to sell it all? on: February 18, 2021, 05:36:10 PM
Many holders were selling last 2018, some of them may have bought back at $3000 or maybe $10K. And it's likely the case when major holders also sell this time, they will also buy back after it but the price also will do the same as it always does. When the price is dumped it's also going to dive down. It would only mean the supply is raining.
334  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Nigeria Come Late to the Bitcoin Party? on: February 17, 2021, 09:06:31 PM
With the way the Nigeria government is regulating crypto transaction, will the country be late to the btc exciting and rewarding party?

When the central bank of Nigeria banned bitcoin, did you see any drop of bitcoin price? It is not possible because Nigerians still make use of bitcoin. There are many active p2p market that Nigerians have moved to now which is better than bank transactions. Better thank bank trasacrions because no charges by bank but p2p directly. If you think Nigerians are not buying bitcoin, you are not thinking about it rightly or someone is deceiving.

The price of BTC wasn't affected when their government announced the crypto transaction regulation, looks unstoppable. They will find a way to still keep going when they are used to it for a long time, I guess they can always circumvent the system. Binance p2p is also helping as it still allows the Nigerians to make transactions. It won;t stop them from crashing a party.
335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: A forgotten story of bounty hunter on: February 16, 2021, 10:40:42 PM

2018 is the worse year to be a bounty hunter. I have been joining campaigns as well during that time and have no been paid many times as well. There are projects that you could be tempted to gamble and invest in it because it seems very legit but still end up a scam and you as a bounty hunter experience the nightmare. I was lucky enough to have kept projects that I can receive dividends all the time while doing my day job. But for some who just rely to bounty and signature campaign, it's a struggle really.
336  Economy / Economics / Re: Earning interest on your crypto on: February 16, 2021, 10:19:47 PM

There is always something to lose when investing, lending your coins for interest will always be risky and the ones who put their feet to risk are always the ones going to take profit when things are going good but they are also the ones losing more when things got ugly. The only safer option if you want to make money without taking a high risk is POS.
I don't think POS is possible with Bitcoin Ethereum and some top currencies rest all are pretty volatile so even if you are gaining coins you might not end up gaining anything in dollars.

Yeah its always been the dollar that matters when it comes to profit. That when BTC hit ATH and will try to dump all they have because they think bull market is about to end.  If you have 1BTC before this bull run and then end up having 1BTC still after the dumps, there is no difference as you didn't get richer.

OP didn't say its just BTC, he meant crypto, which means it could be ETH or just about any token that's POS. Having 50K of ADA and then stake it in a wallet and after a week of epoch he gets about 51K of ADA then he is 1000 ADA more richer than before.

337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Potential of an altcoin on: February 16, 2021, 10:05:29 PM

INJ is a popular token, there are many YouTubers who review it to have a good potential I guess thru these videos a person who wants to profit will likely buy the token as early as possible just like OP. I wouldn't be comfortable investing in it still even after the price had spiked. The potential is there for INJeven to Doge but it will remain as pump and dump when there isn't a fair distribution.
338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the most important cryptocurrencies other than bitcoin? on: February 15, 2021, 09:41:19 PM

It's up to you which project you give importance to. I for instance give importance to some tokens that I'm staking because I earn from it like NEO. There are tokens we give importance to, the rest of us treat TRX to be junk but there are also giving importance to TRX particularly those who are earning dividends to projects. The community of the project is often the ones who give importance to the token. We as part of bitcoin community give importance to BTC.
339  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Feb 22 & XRP, what do you think will happen? on: February 15, 2021, 09:19:51 PM
I said that the XRP price will reach the moon after this meeting. There will definitely be a mutually beneficial agreement between the SEC and Ripple.
Positive thinking, you will definitely make big profits after that meeting.

A lawsuit is not good for business, I don't think it's going to the moon. But they will come to an agreement as last resort for RIpple if they really can't make it.

I don't know if my understanding of Howey Test is correct but if SEC uses this test, it's likely that they will win.  We'll never know until things will happen. It's just a video call by the way may be due to Covid.
