So the spoof is the .co -vs- the .com domain?

Very complete replica........

I've sent it to Guy, he can contact the domain registrar directly.

Maybe SPTech should be notified, they have more power to get it taken down...........copyright infringement may be a good avenue to work from Wink

They have been.
323  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Email from Avalon on: May 03, 2016, 11:56:58 PM
but don't they need permission to do that stuff in china  i hear it's bitch to tour there all the bs they put you thu for a visa etc and then you just can't go any place you want to, so i wouldn't put past them being controlled by gov .Ive often wonder how much the gov is in control
It doesn't take much to get a visa, and even then you can for the most part go wherever you'd like within reason as long as you adhere to the visa terms, basically the length of stay and number of entries into the country.

To get a visa you usually just need a reason to go, having a ticket or a tour is usually a good enough reason for one to be issued, but there are companies that you can pay and they will arrange all the paperwork for other types of visa's with less restrictions (ie more entries)

Let me tell you, its far, far, far more difficult to get a US visa (for anything other than tourism) than it is for China.
324  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Email from Avalon on: May 03, 2016, 08:42:43 PM
Good point for all we know bitmaintech could be 100% controlled  by Chinese government or investors.

Well... I do and that's not as true. They raised they money day 1 and it was a reasonable amount of money, and then make the majority of their 'resources' from trading.
325  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Email from Avalon on: May 03, 2016, 08:25:04 PM
Basically the asic builders have a lot of leverage over the game.

That's actually an interesting concept - we actually don't know what control they have over their own company. Consider BTCS' string pulling over Spondoolies and that we only know about it in detail because BTCS is a public company. Bitfury similarly has significant VC investment and its likely that that investment comes with control.

We don't know if the V's actually get to decide to release a generation or not and its not unreasonable to consider that the investors may usurp giving away their very expensive chip for little.
326  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Looking for ANTMINER S7 6" to 4" Adapter fan duct heating cooling on: May 03, 2016, 05:29:16 AM
Just go to Home Depot and search for flex duct 12 inches or 10 inches.

He wants something that screws into the fan/mount.

You could probably repurpose one of these, in the worst case cutting them in half to get 2x and then using tape to join the duct to duct ends.

Eh, how did this post end up here?
328  Other / Meta / Re: Why is non-consensual release of personal information allowed? on: May 01, 2016, 01:16:40 AM
Where and who decides the line?

Theymos; as it should be. Badbear could probably act if Theymos doesn't have a strong opinion on the matter, but for now they're both quiet.

Its probably hibernation time.

Just thought I'd weigh in here; hopefully nothing what I posted is too off topic - I didn't read all 12 pages of the thread, but thought I'd throw in my thoughts on in a way "community policing" is "standard policy" until safeguards are developed- which will simply take time.
You did not, your summary pretty much summarised the sentiments in the thread:

But in closing, I do think that the forum, and moderators, should give thought, to more serious offenses of DOXing, such as revenge posts, or those of a malicious nature.
330  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Selling 10k alexa ranked bitcoin faucet sites - $5500 monthly income on: April 30, 2016, 10:03:03 PM
Worth pointing out that this user has a negative trust rating and that DonaldCoin.com has almost exclusively Russian / eastern European traffic. That sort of traffic is worth very little for adsense.
331  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Spondoolies SP50 - Contacted Spondoolies Tech Support on: April 30, 2016, 01:16:11 PM
...which should have left anyone competent with a look of confusion about what they actually did and why it was worth paying for. I wonder at what point Spondoolies started regretting the decision.

I don't know who keeps / kept giving them money initially, but that was likely the attraction for Spondoolies. The main BTCS guy spent his career in raising money in SEC regulated businesses so he knows exactly how this works, and he still seems adamant he can uplist BTCS to a major exchange. I guess Spondoolies thought he could help them raise significant money, which so far he's delivered two smaller portions for them.
332  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Spondoolies SP50 - Contacted Spondoolies Tech Support on: April 29, 2016, 11:43:01 PM
Also they do have some cash they might be able to give a second run at a improved SP-50 that get's closer to bitfury's next gen chip spec's.
What money? BTCS is broke af and Spondoolies is well.... SP50less.

@dogie, Those where my thoughts exactly.  If BTCS keeps going they way they are, I see bankruptcy within 18 months.
They say in their own SEC filings that they need additional money not to go out of business in 6 months I think it was. They say that every filing, raise a few more pennies then burn that fresh money on 'administrative expenses', aka salaries for the only two employees..

And I could be wrong I just assumed with merger they had some money.
See my post in the main Spondoolies thread that has their financials - terrible.

I was giving a little benefit of doubt that they must have some money or they would have closed down by now.
*Should have. No revenue in over a year, no ability to generate revenue in the foreseeable future.

And how you sued them I assumed there is something there or you would have not taken time to do a lawsuit.
BTCS is not a named defendant yet.

Last I heard, is BTCS still had one more hurdle for the merger to be completed (could be wrong).  I was told directly from Spondoolies that they are not and have not taken pre-orders, which in my view point is a positive.
Yep, they need the Israeli Tax Authority to agree to defer payment for the taxes related to the merger.
333  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Spondoolies SP50 - Contacted Spondoolies Tech Support on: April 29, 2016, 09:19:36 PM
I think SP is different in they did not do huge pre-order of SP-50's.  If they would have promised SP-50's by X date and missed it then would be a problem like BFL.
We actually don't know what they promised to BTCS / BTCS promised to other institutional buyers.

Also they do have some cash they might be able to give a second run at a improved SP-50 that get's closer to bitfury's next gen chip spec's.
What money? BTCS is broke af and Spondoolies is well.... SP50less.
334  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: BW 14nm Miners Update on: April 29, 2016, 01:06:10 PM
Spoondoolies has ... a bad deal on their merger that seems to be well along the way to killing them.

And lawsuits, lets not forget the lawsuits Wink

what is the price of electricity in China...?.. 0.05$ per kw..
As a very broad average, sure. There are higher and lower places although most of the lower places have been entirely filled now.
335  Other / Meta / Re: What is necrobumping and unsubstantial posts? on: April 28, 2016, 10:45:11 PM
I have never ever understood why people get upset about commenting on an old topic.

If a thread has been abandoned for a sufficient amount of time, its probably for a reason. Resurrecting an old thread also brings attention to outdated threads like people selling miners for cheap and making comments on things years back which have no relevance today. No one ever notices its a really old thread and keeps quoting these old posts while arguing with them.

Just... make a new thread if there isn't a recently active one.
336  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain Antminer C1 Setup [HD] on: April 28, 2016, 10:43:15 PM
The power supply I intended to use for this machine has only 6 PCI-E connectors, will that be sufficient?  It's a 1000W.

We'd need to know the brand and model of the PSU to say definitively. If its single rail and 16AWG cabling then very likely yes. You can also pick up two 2xmolex to PCI-E cables for next to nothing if you want to be sure.
337  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Email from Avalon on: April 28, 2016, 08:44:01 PM
But S5 sales broke the back of the SP20, the manufacturing cost of which brought to light a lot of weaknesses in their design philosophy.
It was actually Spondoolies who started the price war, they just wanted to sell them at any cost in order to gain cash for the next gen. That just so happened to be far below what they could possibly have made them for, and above what Bitmain was manufacturing S5s for.

the Ava4.1 would have sold like crazy in North America.
I'm not so sure, its price ceiling was above that of the S5 such that if there was sufficient competition that Bitmain could have squeezed them out. Avalon designs products how they envision they should (think Asian Spodoolies) where as Bitmain has become know for using the absolute 'efficiency' of design. Both are useful and important for a marketplace, both are different.

Hopefully if they do come out with another competitive chip they at least try to make it available to third parties like they did for everyt chip before A3218.
Its highly likely on both counts. Bitmain's [28nm] chip isn't astronomically good and seeing as Bitfury's [16nm] has gone walkies then the bar hasn't been set that high.

Voting of any kind does not work on here when there are people running multiple accounts.
339  Other / Meta / Re: Seriously! Banned my Gleb account. on: April 24, 2016, 06:57:24 PM
Of course its not a rule violation its just a demonstration of how much of a rampart poster you are and why its inevitable you'll get caught up in bans every now and then. I could also reply to every post in this thread and every other thread, continually . Is it double posting - no. Is it against any obvious rule - no. Is it too much - yes.
340  Other / Meta / Re: Seriously! Banned my Gleb account. on: April 24, 2016, 04:34:28 PM
I believe this thread highlights your posting trends. In <24 hours you managed to post 6x in a thread discussing your ban, while banned. If being banned doesn't throttle your posting then you can only imagine your normal posting rates.
