Hmmmm, The s4+ and the S5 seem to be greyed out AT THE TIME OF THIS POST maybe the S6 and S7 or upgrades are coming out we will see.

Good spot there ....! Yep, S6 cum S:Next-one is definitely due any moment now. Ooops ... squeeky-bum-time .... can't contain the excitement.

Next is S7, not S6.

bitmain i could understand raise in price, but at least give us back free shipping Wink

Its not 'free' shipping, you'd be paying for it in the price. You're also then subsidising shipping costs to the places where it costs 3x more than the US.
1323  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4+ Discussion and Support Thread on: July 12, 2015, 02:04:56 AM
I understand the S4+ has some power mods to make it more power efficient than a S4. I was wondering if anyone can tell me about the freq settings in the S4+

See the S4+ guide in my sig or #2 post in this thread, there is a full frequency, hash rate, power consumption and temperature graph.
1324  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4+ Discussion and Support Thread on: July 12, 2015, 02:04:11 AM
All of bitmain's hardware comes configured with their pool info, mining for them. If your first unit didn't, it was the exception the the rule.

It makes sense, removes a potential variable if something isn't working. I leave my miner details when I send anyone hardware, so 1) I know when the hardware was turned on, 2) that I know it works on arrival and 3) so the customer knows its good.

I do not blame bitmain for customs, but this increase in prices for hardware already exists just to make money, it seems excessive, and do not sit well with me
Its tied to $/btc... Are you going to get annoyed that Bitstamp and Coinbase raised their prices for 1btc?
1326  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: S3+ and S3++ on: July 11, 2015, 11:41:52 AM
I've never seen an S3++ but without the cover it should be obvious from the chip arrangement. There will be a lot less board components than found on an S3+.

There's a bit of a filip in BTC price on, so ya'all looking to get some of these better be quick before bitmain put the price up!

I would be highly surprised if they raise it again.   There is just a point people will not buy, or kills sales.

I think they have reached their "happy place" on price with current BTC price and expect to see it sit around current.  Again all my guess could be wrong.

He's right, the S5 price very roughly tracks the exchange rate so it could be adjusted at any time.
1328  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Manufacturer Trustworthiness Guide [27th Feb] on: July 10, 2015, 03:45:47 AM
Bitmain shouldn't have 8/10 in ehtics. They abuse cgminer's software license,  caused a hardfork by not checking blocks they mine on top on and lied about Antpool beeing a p2pool pool (not related to their hardware but same company).

There are no outstanding open source issues with regards to Bitmain, and they didn't lie about Antpool being p2pool. I've discussed this many times in other threads (before Kano shuts down any attempt at discussion), it was a translation blunder. All of the above is also not applicable to the guide.

Are you sure they're the same controller?
1330  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain Antminer S5 Setup [HD] on: July 08, 2015, 11:12:26 PM
i got my replacement from china for my s5 board.  Smiley

problem now  is.. it only hash around 670 gh/s my other s5 is around 1100th/s
i flash it with new firmware already. Do i need to adjust something to make it same as my other s5?

Can you post a screenshot of the status page please?

Once he post's I have a feeling it's going to be showing 1 blade only.

Chances are he needs to do some of the standard things to see if he can get other blade back up and running.

I was having the same problem when I got my replacement board. I saw a ton of HW errors and found underclocking would actually increase the hash rate and reduce the errors.  I switched to a different PSU and the problem went away.

Sounds reasonable. The S5 is the first mainstream miner [S3++ the very first] that is susceptible to ~12V problems which could be anywhere from 11.4 to 12.6V. Non string miners take ~12V and don't care due to their voltage regulation, where as new gen string miners have to take ~12V and make do with it.

The difference was Spondoolies were selling at a horrific loss, which isn't good for anyone.
... except for your current benefactor, which killed Spondoolies off by undercutting them on price, and then started price-raping customers when they became the only game left in town, amirite ?
So you're saying its Bitmain's fault that Spondoolies got it wrong with the SP20 and chose to sell them off at a significant loss in order to generate cash?
Yes. I believe Bitmain's price manipulation was a contributing factor that resulted in SPTech selling their SP20's at a loss.

... I was in part the one deciding prices for the S5, it tracked the SP20 and didn't lead it. Every price decrease was initiated by Spondoolies as they wanted to sell out fast rather than for a sensible price. They also appeared to have 100s and 100s and 100s in stock at one time which isn't compatible with their no self mining model.

Anything think this company is pushing the price of LTC/BTC to increase sales of this miner?

It's like an air conditioning company polluting to the maximum to increase global warming.

Your example is no where close.  A miner company could push LTC to make a miner look nicer at start.

I doubt anyone is currently doing this as this miner seems to have buyers waiting to buy it.  So they would really be wasting money they currently don't need to.

But if they're self mining as the conspiracy theorists claim, they'd also have to also hoard that LTC and somehow keep the difficulty low.

He is right ! They always raise the price when the value of bitcoin goes up but when it drops they never lower it !!!!!!!!!!!

You got a point there, but you missed the elephant in the room if you intended to buy with bitcoin. They have held the rate of USD to BTC at an older (lower 1 BTC = USD 262.Cool rate despite the additional $18 increase; google currently states a price of 1BTC = 273 BTC . Truth be told, either way its a ripoff, but they are the ONLY game in town, so we'll have to grin and bear it.

The know this that's why they are doing it. come on spoondoolies come out with new chips I am so sick of BITMAIN aka SHITMAIN.

F**K THEM even if they are the only game in town I still wont buy from them. There going broke there just milking the cow but there not going to milk me !

I'm not taking up for bitmain but what makes you all think spoondoolies or any other vendor or supplier won't do the same thing that's how it is, they will .

IN fact they wil be higher in price. again I'm not taking up for bitmian they just will be .

Not that spondoolies is any better, but the fact is spondoolies before running out of hardware they where the ones pushing the prices down, as soon as spondoolies sold out, bitmain raised their prices significantly. If Spondoolies does come back, lets not forget who is the one raising the prices, and who is pushing them down.

The difference was Spondoolies were selling at a horrific loss, which isn't good for anyone.
1336  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4+ Discussion and Support Thread on: July 06, 2015, 03:36:51 AM
emailed Bitmain tech support and gotten the following response:

It contains wrong information unfortunately. Some of the support staff are very good, others it seems don't have much actual mining experience.

Most commercial farms will run between 30 and 35C ambient and I've done very extended tests on all Bitmain equipment at 40-45C. Only the S4+ doesn't like those temps but its still within specifications. 65C is on the cool side for an S4+ and they're specified for 90+.

How much Avalon 4 were sold?

More then 300  is the best I can say.  Back in Dec ehash had 300 available when I purchased it slowly sank down  to 0.

My guess is they had more of them maybe 2000  but that is a guess based on some info on kanos pool last dec.  They were pointing about 2ph at his pool I assume that would be 2000 units.

1000s and 1000s and 1000s in CN.
1338  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Split from: ANTMINER S4+ Discussion and Support Thread on: July 05, 2015, 05:32:23 AM
what quantity one should order from BITMAIN to receive the price of 500$ for this S4+ miner? Is it possible at all?

tldr; no, sounds like a scam.
1339  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4+ Discussion and Support Thread on: July 03, 2015, 06:15:46 PM
i'm sure the chips themselves are, not too worried about those, but what about other components on the board? wiring?

after updating the option to halt units at 80C has been changed to 95C!  i think this is a bit dangerous as i'm concerned about other components in the unit being able to operate safely at this kind of heat level. anyone care to chime in on this?

The limit already was 95C (as it should be, these chips are resilient), the text was incorrect before.

Specified appropriately.
