321  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Factors that's why others are hesitant to start in crypto on: June 11, 2023, 07:06:39 PM
Aside from the given list, another reason why others are hesitant to start in crypto is due to the complexity of the technology for the user to understand.  They are confused with technical terms and technical process on creating wallet, sending and receiving transaction and securing their wallet.  Many are afraid that they might commit an error and lost their fund.

Another thing is the uncertain future of cryptocurrency.  Since some government are on neutral stance, investors are hesitant to start because they don't know whether the government will acknowledge cryptocurrency or deny them and worst ban the use of it in the country.  Aside from the lack of government acknowledgement, investors hesitant because they don't know whether cryptocurrency is here to stay.
322  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The Man Who Saw Tomorrow on: June 11, 2023, 06:41:13 PM
After Nostradamus, I would say that Satoshi is another man who saw the future. For instance, he predicted what is currently happening with bitcoin transactions many years ago. This is a quote I found on the forum.

Quote
"I'm sure that in 20 years there will either be very large transaction volume or no volume." -- Satoshi

True to it, bitcoin is not yet 20 years old, and we are already seeing very large transaction volumes that are taking almost forever to get to the recipients. We don't know when this will end or how it will end, but we are sure that whenever it ends, bitcoin will still be standing. What are the other predictions that Satoshi has made that are happening now, have happened, or are yet to happen?

I echo with other reply, Satoshi does not know the future of Bitcoin since if you read through the context of your quoted statement, Satoshi do not know what the future lies for bitcoin reason why he stated a double standard statement since it is either huge volume or no volume at all, saying both simply means he does not know the exact trend of Bitcoin in the future.  It is like saying that you will open this forum on Saturday or you will not.  Grin
323  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Gambling is different from trading on: June 10, 2023, 11:07:03 PM
You also don't have control in trading over what the outcome could be. It's always going to be according to luck, and according to your decision, you will know what would be the best thing. I think you could prepare a lot of things when trading, but in gambling, you just have to play, making it possible to play and not think so much.

I disagree that we don't have any control in trading, about the outcome, we can predict it depending on the information we gather before hand and the analysis as we all know is dependent on the price movement of the market.  We have more information to use in order to predict the outcome of our trade while in gambling, we only rely on the randomness of the result praying that we guess the right one.

So to say, trading result is dependent on our analysis and study of the market while gambling is all about the chance to bet on the right outcome of the game.
324  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can anyone Predict What's going on crypto market? on: June 10, 2023, 10:46:25 PM
We all know that it is impossible to predict the future of the crypto market. However, according to the current world economy, the market is still in a good position. Still, who knows if there is even any news or when this market will turn around again. According to the economy going down a bit too slowly can new investments be made at the moment.

As bitcoin lover, you must have been used to news that always have effect on the market and makes it turn down. This is something that is not avoidable and it happens from time to time. But that can’t still change the stance of bitcoin or making new investors not interested in it. New investors will come in, some only wait for the market to go down a bit so that they can enter the market to buy more. Research is paramount in bitcoin and if one does that, you won’t have any problem investing in bitcoin.

News has an effect to investors like when news about Bitcoin is negative most investors will shy away from investing into Bitcoin thus resulting in lesser adoption activity.  The news affect the sentiment of the market and at the same time the motivation of investors.  Just like in the recent event.  News about the cases filed by SEC to Binance US and Coinbase has negative effect on Bitcoin, we have seen that due to lesser investors coming into the Bitcoin market, there is less demand created thus we see Bitcoin price goes down.  But the moment the news is overturn with positive news, we will see Bitcoin price uptrending because new investors are flocking into the Bitcoin market.
325  Economy / Economics / Re: SEC is in Action After Suing Binance, Here Comes Coinbase Exchange on: June 10, 2023, 10:27:39 PM
I am absolutely disgusted with the SEC. They are always looking for big targets to take down cryptocurrencies. Just look, they are currently successful, even the crypto market is really down. This might be good for those of us doing DCA to buy more Bitcoin or other crypto. However, isn't it annoying to see how the SEC is always looking for targets and taking them down like this? And I'm sure it won't stop. Even this is Binance as well as Coinbase. This will be a very valuable lesson for exchanges or other platforms, learning from this case and also several other cases, starting from the old XRP.
While you are correct there is nothing we can do to stop them or influence their decision, it is obvious the SEC does not move unless it was given an order to do it, so by taking this posture it is becoming painfully clear the US is once again attacking this market with the intention of making it more unstable, it seems to me they are afraid as they can see their economy is not doing as well as they expected and they do not want this market to do well either, as this could bring more attention to it and it could make the next bull run even stronger.

It is a sad fact that we the citizen can do nothing but watch on the sideline.  The case with Coinbase is a legal matter and I believe SEC has reasons to go after the exchange.  They won't do anything unless they had found flaws and action that the SEC deemed illegal and it was stated by @OP on its first post.

Honestly I don't care what happen to Coinbase and other huge exchanges.  Coinbase had been rumored to be leaking its users information to the authority so I think their situation today suits them.  I also think that these kind of cases is part of the process of adopting cryptocurrency in government terms.  I do not know if it will be beneficial for us or not but  I'd rather have that than let scam and fraud company saturate the cryptocurrency sphere.
326  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can They Find A Way to Do It To Bitcoin? on: June 10, 2023, 10:00:19 PM
Government can control centralize exchanges because centralized exchanges needs license from the government to operate.  It is the term centralized that enable the government to control them because there is a central body that the government can go after.  Unlike in Bitcoin where the very nature is decentralization, the government action of controlling the Bitcoin network is futile.  They cannot control the network because it has no central authority.  Meaning if the government wanted to stop Bitcoin or control Bitcoin, they need to control all the miners, nodes, and community and we all know that it is impossible.
327  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Goal Achievement on: June 10, 2023, 09:36:39 PM
Bitcointalk is a broad community where bitcoin technologies and informations are been discussed, so what I observed in Bitcointalk is that for me to go further I have to read what others has written properly and make my contributions to where I understand a discussion. Another thing I notice that contributes to achieving our goals easily here is by making a good sentence with punctuation marks where necessary and correct spellings because good sentence will make a reader to understand our point of view properly, observation plays a major role in achieving our goals here because when you observe some you feel thats not well explained you can ask question for more explanation or you may even quite the person on the contrary that's if you know it , seriousness is another way of making our goals to be fulfilled, I wish to be like other member who has achieve some goals in this forum.

Aside from the punctuation, grammars and spelling, information must be direct to the point, with explanation if needed.  Replying with the use of different unnecessary words just to make the post looks long will only confuse the reader.  One f the member here that I found replies short but informative is mk4.  His reply is spot on and is easier to comprehend.
328  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how to get over it on: June 09, 2023, 10:44:38 PM
Quote
How do I get over the countless failures? I’ve been chasing the $1,000,000 dream for years.

There is only one answer to that, move on, learn from your experience and accept your losses.  That is the way to get over your countless failures.  I think $1m is too high to aim and get in a short span of time.  One thing I see is that you have a problem with waiting and possibly you fail to apply bankroll management.  It is ok to think where you could have gone wrong and avoid it when you decided start betting  and aim for $1m again. I would not say $1m is unrealistic considering the bankroll of @OP because in gambling due to its randomness everything is possible to happen.
329  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Loan business here how on: June 09, 2023, 10:21:13 PM
Any adivece ?
How much i can earn ?
Should i ask collateral always ?
How can i improve my service ?
WTF do you wanna jump into lending them cash instead of knowing your route around the forum FIRST?? cus it doesn't seem to me like you do..
Do you think anyone would wanna have a good look at your service thread? Even though you intend to provide the best offer? maybe some unserious, theft-minded clodpolls would - since they're always looking for the least possible ways to steal and run away with it....IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT??! I meannn,... Chill buddy. It doesn't even look to me like you've known the measures already... and that wouldn't be a problem if you've surfed the forum yourself. Secondly, ion even think you're serious about this whole idea - the last time I Googled through your post, it didn't say so.

Sandra 🧑‍🦰

This is the reason why @OP is seeking an advice from the knowledgeable member of the forum.  @OP don't want to waste his time lurking around the forum reading unnecessary post to his goal.  He wanted to offer a lending service so obviously he would not read Bitcoin discussion or how to make quality post.  All he need is just the forum rule, lending rule which can be find in this forum board: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=65.0

I also don't think @OP wanted to participate in a signature campaign to earn money.  There is a newbie account that started his lending business and it looks like his service is not ignored until he decided to stop his service.
330  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you guilty of promising not to gamble for specific days but back next day on: June 09, 2023, 09:55:04 PM
How many of us are guilty of this?

It's not being guilty but that was a normal thing for gamblers. Even casual gamblers do have a feeling like that.

Indeed this kind of feeling is normal for a gambler.  The difference is that normal gambler can be able to control by stopping his session while an addicted gambler can do anything but abide by the urge to gamble.

I don't see something wrong with that as long as they stay responsible and not shitting with anyone, anything.

It will become wrong if the gambler keep on losing money and still keep on coming back even after he said for himself that he will stop.  Just like the one member here that keep on creating thread about his gambling activity and was so happy about winnings but then got hit by series of losses and become remorseful saying that he will stop gambling but not a week past we find him creating a topic again about his gambling activities.

Taking a break from gambling in the meantime is really an advisable thing to do after a big loss. Somehow, the eagerness there to return right away therefore most gamblers can't find the temptation even just resting for several hours lol.

Again, if these gamblers stay their cool, keep their discipline, and overall, always be responsible despite losing big, they are still on the right track.

I agree, we should put a break and control the urges else we will find ourselves in a dire situation if the uncontrollable urge to gamble take over us.
331  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does anyone still stores their crypto in any exchange on: June 09, 2023, 09:14:10 PM
Does anyone here still stores their crypto in exchanges? I think the best choice would be to move a higher value of funds to a hardware wallet while leaving a small amount that's less than 5K in an exchange.

I don't store my crypto in exchanges but I know there are still many people who uses centralized exchanges as stash.

So, why would anyone in their right mind take the risk of storing your crypto on exchange? When it usually means that the exchange retains control (or 'custody') of your assets without giving you access to the private keys. Also, they can disappoint you at any time.

One reason is that they trust the exachange.  Another is that they are lazy setting up a personal wallet, or they are afraid that they will mess up the transfers and lose their crypto.  Or it is possible that they are trading and they use all their exchange crypto balance to trade.
332  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can bitcoin die? on: June 09, 2023, 08:55:56 PM
If all countries make regulations that bitcoin mining is prohibited, is it true that bitcoin will die?

Depends, if there is a single entity that keeps on mining, the Bitcoin network will continue to process its transaction.  That is the beauty of decentralized nature.  Even if the authority banned all kind of mining, there will be someone who will go against the prohibition and keep on mining Bitcoin.  But obviously in reality, not all countries will ban bitcoin mining because bitcoin mining helps in a places where there are small demand of electricity making electricity much more cheaper.

Aside from that Bitcoin mining is helpful to the places where severe cold environment is existing.  These miners can help heating the environment in such cold places.
333  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Established members and newbies on: June 08, 2023, 11:01:43 PM
If it's really thin for newbie to rank up, I think I will not see a new full member user joined a signature campaign because there's should be only an old user who get merit airdropped and someone who's trying hard to rank up. The fact I always see a new full member user actively participating a discussion.

I remember there was a legendary member complaining if he's hard to earn merit when he already reach legendary rank. So @OP you're completely wrong and do you think with your 4 posts you should earn at least 1 merit? there's no relation between how many posts you created and merit you will get.

Why does ranking bother you so much? You can just busy  copper membership and enjoy the forum while hoping someone merits any of your posts on day.
I think he want to get 100 merit and start to join a signature campaign, because if he only want to post an image, he can just buy a copper membership and not complaining about merit.

Absolutely, merits bothers people on this forum so much when they can use the copper membership.

I have been here since 2017, with the copper member I'm able to run my services here. What more could I ask for? Just use the forum without being obsessed about merits and if you happen to get any, then it's fine.

Those who are obsessed of gaining merit are members who wanted to rank up which later on intend to join a signature campaign to earn.  For people who are here to offer their services and sell goods and products won't be aiming to rank up or get more merit because the forum don't limit any users from selling his services and/or products.  Since newbie can create thread to introduce their services and can buy copper membership so that they can publish images to help them with their service presentation, there is no need for these members to be obsessed with merits.
334  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk is not an office on: June 08, 2023, 10:11:04 PM
I read different articles of newbie particular in beginners and help board and I notice that so many of the newbie have in mind that bitcointalk is an office to fetch and earn money. And it's noted that the primary agenda of making bitcointalk is to have a different reasons and suggestions of making the problem of bitcoin to be lesser, I will say some people are not informed of why bitcointalk is been created and its the reason why everytime some newbie make first and second post you know that their plan of registering is to earn a bitcoin.

Why the heck people think about bitcointalk is an office? I think you are the only one thinking about that and not those newbies you mentioned. Also its not bad to think about that you can earn here since there's so many opportunity here. For sure the possibility to earn is maybe the common why people go here. To many learnings we can learn here but also lets not discriminate people want to earn since there are so many things we can do to earn money especially if we are skilled to work with some technical jobs offered around.
Earning is it why forum is being made, do you what to tell me that without Earning forum will not stand, before I made this content

I do not think the reason why this forum made is because of earnings.  The forum is made to establish an information portal where members can discuss and exchange thought about Bitcoin which later got popular and earning potentials is established.

I have seen where a newbie asked a question for how he/ she will earn in bitcointalk,  I'm not against Earning but let it not be a priority

Why not? I don't see any problem if the user is prioritizing earnings especially if the newbie goal is to offer services.  The forum offer earnings why not directly take advantage of it?  It is better than wasting time pretending not to prioritize earnings.
335  Economy / Economics / Re: 3x inflation in my life time (Im 30) does bitcoin fix this? on: June 07, 2023, 11:09:30 PM
Bitcoin fix this in the sense the more money you save (in BTC currency), more pizzas you will be able to acquire on long term, while when saving fiat currency, the less pizzas you are going to be able to buy futurely

This is only applicable if Bitcoin continuously move in an uptrend path.  But once Bitcoin meet its APEX and prize stabilized, it can be affected by inflation in one way or another.

The lesson is: avoid saving fiat. Or you put it in good use, or you invest in BTC, but never hold fiat for too long, otherwise you are going to be overcome by inflation.

I greatly agree don't just hold fiat use them to invest, best if it can be used to create a profitable business than can produce continuous stream of income and not just a one time profit.  Since I believe, to overcome inflation we must earn income that far surpasses the inflation rate in order for our life to be unaffected by this common event.

I just feel unconfortable for those elders who have been saving their wages for their entire lives below the bed, thinking to be doing a good business.

They had successfully  goes through all the problems and troubles financial life had given them and ends up with savings, so I don't think you should feel uncomfortable for them.
336  Economy / Economics / Re: 3x inflation in my life time (Im 30) does bitcoin fix this? on: June 07, 2023, 10:47:41 PM
how does bitcoin fix this?

Bitcoin is not created to fix the inflation. It is created to be a medium for boundless transaction without any intermediary.  Bitcoin is created to address centralization, fraud and censorship.  It is not a fix all pill that solve all problems.

The creation of Bitcoin is a response to the great financial crisis and the financial world’s reliance on banks as intermediaries of all financial transactions[1].  So I think it is not about solving inflation but rather making each person independent from traditional banking system.

337  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Established members and newbies on: June 07, 2023, 10:19:34 PM
Although I haven't spent much time on this forum I observed that when most newbie make a valid and reasonable post they only get nice replies instead of established members assisting in ranking them up The chances of ranking up from a newbie is very thin in most cases  even for those striving to add value to the forum.

One of the possible reason why they don't receive merit is that, the topic is already discussed and it does not add much contributions since as stated the topic already exist.  I do no think that ranking up for a newbie is slim, I even see topic created for inquiries get merit and there are merit drop thread where you can take advantage if your quality post is unnoticed.

I am not imposing anyone to help others rank up but I am saying rank should not be a sole factor to consider when someone deserves a merit

Sending merit is subjective, if they find your merit amusing,  quality or agree to the message you post then merit will come your way.  Just have patience and put more effort to create quality post or thread.
338  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin transaction fees are too high, obstacle for adoption and in general on: June 04, 2023, 10:16:36 PM
Bitcoin is still undergoing development and the two soft forks that happen in Bitcoin development is somehow related to minimizing transaction fee.  If we look at the history, Bitcoin first implemented  segwit.  A bitcoin update that reduces the size of transaction, thus making transaction fee lower.  Then comes taproot that further reduce the transaction fee.  Before the ordinal issue, Bitcoin transaction are cheap, until someone uses BRC 20 token to congest the network and eventually increase the transaction fee exponentially.
339  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Quick Bitcoin questions on: June 04, 2023, 09:55:45 PM
Why does it feels like Bitcoin is a better fit for store of value than a payment solution?

It feels like Bitcoin is a better fit for store of value than the payment solution because of the feature of Bitcoin.  Bitcoin is highly volatile, it is troublesome to use a high volatile medium of exchange since prices varies every now and then.  Aside from that, as one of your given example,  Bitcoin transaction fee is somehow more expensive than other tx fee or gas fee.  Aside from that, Bitcoin technology is still under development to cope up with the demand of people.  Unlike feature which is already existing, the development needs time to be achieved so I understand why Bitcoin feels like a better fit for store of value.

340  Other / Off-topic / Re: A post about telegram scams on: June 04, 2023, 09:39:21 PM
It is all business as usual, they wanted to bait people into signing under their referrals in hopes that they can catch whales gambler.

TBH, I am still not certain about the relationship between  1xbit and 1xbet here in the forum. 1xbet seems to be genuine site unlike scam 1xbit. I could be wrong also.
They are both apparently owned by the same company (1xCorp N.V.), with 1xBet being the parent brand and 1xBit the knock off. If they are related it is safe to assume that 1xBet is a scam as well which operates their scam activities through 1xBit

Could it be that the celebrities are not aware of their scam activities if they really scam.
Outside this forum you rarely hear talk of 1xBit being a scam and the link between them is not amplified, they pay review sites to whitewash their image.
AFAIK 1xBEt have not run a signature campaign here.

- Jay -

I was almost convinced that 1xbet is different from 1xbit but with the help of your post made me understand that 1xbet and 1xbit is related to each other.  Thanks for the information.

Private message in telegram if coming from unknown individual should be ignored.  They will more likely cause losses than profit.
