3221  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where I can check the crypto events calender? on: December 20, 2021, 02:48:05 AM
Crypto events are one thing but since crypto is very correlated with stocks at the moment you should be checking for any important market events which typically are released by the Fed.

Basically go to Forexfactory.com
Click on Calendar
Adjust to your time zone

And pay attention to any RED events with the US currency. Employment numbers don’t have an effect on crypto however FOMC and CPI lately are very closely correlated.
3222  Economy / Speculation / Re: Btc ath february 2022 on: December 20, 2021, 02:44:55 AM
It’s hard to say whether it will hit ATH in Febrarury. Remember 2018? Everybody assumed that in Q1 2022 it would go to a new ATH however what happened was a massive dump led by tax selling.

People had huge gains in 2017 just like in 2021 and in April their taxes are due. They go to an accountant and are presented with a huge tax bill. To prevent being a tax liability they have no choice but to liquidate part of their crypto. When enough people do this, it might cause a big crash.
3223  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Cheapest way to short sell bitcoin on: December 19, 2021, 03:25:35 PM
Your best way is to just short the actual future contract. Not on spot like Kraken and not the derivatives such as the Perpetual swaps which have a funding fee every 8 hours.

For example if you go on FTX the current price of Bitcoin right now is $47200 but the March price is $48500. And in a couple of weeks there will be a June expiry and on other exchanges there is a Dec 2022 expiry that will come up very soon. They will all have a premium over spot.

So you can hedge that way, benefit from the premium.
3224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Identifying Bad PCIE riser cards on: December 19, 2021, 03:20:56 PM
Bad risers are very difficult to find. Especially when you got like 5-6 in a single rig. Sure it would be easily to find a bad one if it blew something on the board such as a capacitor however that was never the case for me.

Since they are very cheap you should just completely replace them and see if the problem goes away. If it does, lately all those “potentially bad” ones and test them one by one. However this is not always easy because it doesn’t always crash right away, can run for a long while before you get issues and hence why diagnosis is so difficult.
3225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is the cryptocurrency market entering a bear month? on: December 19, 2021, 03:17:49 PM
It’s hard to predict when we are in a bear market until it’s too late. Think of 2017-2018 as an example. We were all bullish up until Nov 2018 when $6K finally broke. And then obviously we were in a bear market however that would not be the time to short or sell.

It quickly went to $3.1K and that was eventually the low. Most back then were thinking it would go to $1K and they were all shorting at $3K. And the rest is history. Basically it never returned to that level.

So it’s difficult to tell when we are in a bear market or not.
3226  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: EMA vs. MA(SMA) on: December 19, 2021, 05:57:16 AM
Basically most people use the regular MA without the EMA. However keep in mind that they usually only work well in trending markets. So if you used them when it’s ranging or trading sideways you are just going to run into many losses.

The higher the timeframe the higher the probability that the MA will work. A very popular one in Bitcoin is the 200WMA which is the 200MA for the weekly.

If you plot it you can see that price never closed below this MA. A great area to long Bitcoin.
3227  Economy / Speculation / Re: Some important things about Bitcoin. on: December 19, 2021, 03:50:20 AM
I still think Bitcoin can go up also however I don’t think it will reach $100K that easily. I also think in the current range it will stay for a month or two. Basically how it stayed in the $30-40K range back in the Summer.

This ranging is important. Those that bought Bitcoin for the quick money will most likely get impatient and sell and the smart money will absorb those sales. If you look at the $30-40k range we had in the past, the funding was negative because many retail traders were bearish and expecting $20K and it reversed when they least expected it to.
3228  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Worst exchange you experience for trading on: December 18, 2021, 04:52:42 AM
There are lots of exchanges available in this crypto platform. Binance kucoin coinbase houbi and so many good exchange Where people keep trading daily. But apart from that, sometimes we need to use unknown exchange for trading. Some may good and some may bad. And thats what I'm looking for! Your selected worst exchange, may best for others but it doesn’t matter. Share the name of exchange which gave you worst trading experience, scam your fund or sometime else. Share, so that others can alert from it.
Based up on my own experience then the most bad or sucks big time kind of exchange would be Yobit.net/com! Lets just exclude those totally been taken down by hacks and become scam but this exchange is shady as fuck big time.

1. No support/ They dont ever answer
2. Lots of shady coins
3. High House edge of their gambling games
4. Often wallet maintenance

Surprisingly this exchange is still running up to now and im surprised that there are still users who do make use of this
platform.

Yeah I agree with this. Yobit is a russian exchange and been up for years. However you really got to becareful.

I remember when that dice was added to their exchange. I remember I would mine some new alts and decided to give it a try, it was nice because you could roll with any currency not just bitcoin. And I remember never winning. They never posted any hashed seeds so you could never verify the rolls.

And the wallet maintenance is very famous also. They got so many coins however the wallets are offline for months. They never reboot their node. Why even trade those coins, most of those coins are small cap and only have 1 exchange. Basically many get tricked this way.

Contact support yields nothing. Don't know if they have problem finding workers but they really need more support staff for that exchange. Its popular still because its old.
3229  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: This is the Fear and Greed Index Chart on: December 18, 2021, 04:48:16 AM
I used to rely on this chart back in 2018 and it gave me false hope. If I recall price was $6K and it was in the fear range for a long time, and then it broke $6K and went lower and the fear went even longer. Its also not accurate at selling tops either but the greed could stay high while price is going higher and higher. If you sell at the first touch you will sell too early.

Basically like the above guy said. Its a generic measurement to give you an idea of trend , right now its bearish. However you can't use it to enter or exit trades especially since the crypto markets can get pretty overexteneded from time to time.
3230  Economy / Speculation / Re: I know you have all been waiting in anticipation of on update.... on: December 18, 2021, 04:43:11 AM
Well if you really think its going to go to $1K and you think it will happen sometime in 2022 like in June. Then you can go on Deribit and buy the lowest put they got, which is the $15000 strike put for only $400.

So if on June 24 2022 the price of BTC is $1000, this put will have a value of $14000 at least, most likely higher since it has a premium. So your $400 investment will yield at least $14000. And if you buy 100 of these put options, you will be a multi-millionaire.

3231  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Bullish Scenario - Minimum will reach $75000 on: December 18, 2021, 04:37:06 AM
This is a very strange way how you are using the 1.272 fib projection, I don't think most people are looking at that fib level. However if you take the previous cycle high ($20K) and low ($3.1K) you will get a fib projection 4.236 at around $73000. Which is pretty close to your fib.

Will this be the top? Nobody knows because in those areas there is no resistance, so traders are plotting projections where they can. Obviously $100K is an obvious resistance area and the rest people use fib projections. So it might or might not be the top. I think alot depends on if $42K was the low and how long we spend in this trend.
3232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright owes a cool $100 million on: December 17, 2021, 03:25:27 AM
From what I’ve seen, the guy was posing in a Lamborghini and later on after investigation it was released that the car was a rental. He tries his best to pretend he has riches but doesn’t. Unless it’s from his day job.

Either way. He won’t pay the $100 million because he doesn’t have it. He will just get lawyers involved to reopen the case and for the next 10-20 years it will drag on and the only people that will benefit will be the lawyers.
3233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should you sell ethereum and btc to buy Solana/SOL? on: December 17, 2021, 03:21:48 AM
I don’t know if you guys heard but the former First Lady of the USA, president Trumps wife, Melinda Trump is launching some NFTs on the SOL network. However SOL didn’t react to the big news.

When it was released SOL started to sell off. And it’s very strange that it was rallying for the last few days from $150 all the way to $183 and then topped at the news. Basically classic buy the rumor and sell the news only for certain insiders.
3234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Arrow Glacier upgrade / ETH minable till June 2022 / difficulty bomb delaying on: December 17, 2021, 03:15:29 AM
This is not only a difficulty bomb.

Billions of dollars from the supporting mining communities will be removed, and the price of Ethereum could go back to $30-$40. The loosers will be those who lock their funds in the staking pot. Unable to recover their losses in a falling market. With 8% annual return on $30-$40 a coin...

What do you mean billions of dollars will be removed? How do miners contribute to a project exactly? They are usually an expense because they sell their miner rewards to pay for their gear, electricity and income.

Or is there some type of funding that I don’t know about which is being funded by certain pools to continue the development of ETH?

Either way, I see ETH crashing also close to 80-90% however I don’t think it will go into double digits this time. Maybe lowest is $300-400 or so. Things are getting out of hand with Pepsi and all this NFT craze. I mean you can always right click and save the NFT…lol
3235  Economy / Economics / Re: Usdt safe heaven on: December 17, 2021, 03:08:42 AM
Basically whether it’s hacked or not technically only becomes an issue if everyone tries to withdraw at the same time, which won’t happen.

There are probably a few millions of lost tether even from people sending to wrong addresses, forgetting their Bitcoin or Ethereum private keys or losing access to their coins somehow.

However if for some reason 100% tried to redeem their tether and then it turns out only 66% or so are out there, what would happen to the 33% of people. Most likely this will never happen so it’s not an issue however you don’t want to find out when it’s too late that there are liquidity issues.
3236  Economy / Economics / Re: Usdt safe heaven on: December 16, 2021, 05:15:34 PM
There are many risks to this. Not that I am against tether or anything but you need to consider this...

1) USDT is actually centralized even though if you keep it on the Bitcoin or Ethernet blockchain. The USDT creator can easily blacklist any coins at any time, and it did so in the past when some USDT was stolen.

2) USDT - This is very controversial but there is debate if USDT is actually backed 1:1.

3) USD in general is highly inflated. Look how expensive everything has gotten in the last year or even 10 years or so.

3237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Arrow Glacier upgrade / ETH minable till June 2022 / difficulty bomb delaying on: December 16, 2021, 05:05:21 AM
This just seems like a difficulty bomb extension. Like we had 3-4 already in the past. The ETH devs as usual are behind schedule and need to extend the bomb because obviously there is no time for POS yet.

They are delaying it 6 months and then most likely some other fork to delay again 6 months, maybe with a larger update. I don’t think it’s the official POS launch date. I could be wrong however. Been years since I listened to their dev meetings.
3238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should you sell ethereum and btc to buy Solana/SOL? on: December 16, 2021, 04:59:36 AM
Sol was a good buy at $3 when Sam Friedman was saying he is buying unlimited quantities. And it almost peaked at $300. Now even at under $200 it still seems expensive. Is it a good buy? Depends

If we get a bear market then you are better off buying lower at like $40 or so. Might revisit its previous ATH. However we have no idea if we are in a bear market or not.

It might go from $175 all the way to $400 and top out there. And if you wait too long you might miss it. Nobody knows what will happen exactly.
3239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright owes a cool $100 million on: December 16, 2021, 04:48:18 AM

No he is not. Many people that know the real satoshi have said that they know  the way he talks is nothing like the original satoshi. The way he portrays himself doesn’t seem how satoshi would act.

Can't argue with that.

Quote
He had many tries to provide some proof but he always made some excuse . It’s very easy to prove. Just sign one of the early blocks and everybody would believe him but he can’t even do that.
He wouldn't even have to do that. He could just post to the forum here under his username. And say he was craig wright. And that would settle that!

No he can’t post in this forum ever because his account is locked. Even if he had his old password and everything. Reason why is because satoshi used some free email host and his address expired due to inactivity after a few years. So someone registered it and claimed to be him.

Since they had access to his email address they could reset his password hence the mods had no choice but to lock that account because it’s too risky keeping it like that. Someone can made a bearish post and cause a lot of panic pretending to be him.
3240  Economy / Speculation / Re: Tesla accepting Bitcoin payments and ..... Doge ? on: December 14, 2021, 05:15:38 PM
Doge had a very strong upwards move today. From 16 cents to 22 cents it is now 20

I think if he announced this earlier, such as when BTC was at ATH, then perhaps Doge might be nearing its ATHs also. However it seems that his tweets are getting less and less relevant. It was every Dogecoin holders dream for Tesla to accept Dogecoin and now that it does (or will soon) the pump seems to be fading.

We will see how the daily closes however not looking so promising so far. I think since this coin has experienced an >80% loss from ATH has alot of bag holders which are very desperate to get out as the biggest loss possible.

Since year is ending... there is going to be lots of tax loss harvesting selling and most likely Dogecoin will be one of those coins that experiences those. People will want to take the loss on Doge to offset their gains on another stocks/cryptos. So heading into the new year might go lower and maybe Q1 might go higher.
