341  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Oh that feeling... when the price goes crazy...after you sold! on: January 08, 2021, 12:47:01 PM
So... How do you guys deal with that? (Water under the bridge or buy back in on the dip again?)

Mostly buying back after a few dip. As long as you don't sell 100% of your Bitcoin holdings, you'll not regret it since you are still holding, at least that's what I do. It seems that you are still holding a few coins though so it's okay to buy back, you're at a profit anyway.
342  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What exactly was the idea behind bitcoin? on: January 05, 2021, 03:08:17 AM
Firstly , bitcoin is limited in number (21 million) and the world population is higher than that if not twice , so it can't be mass adopted.

People can always use Satoshi, as most people do, so anyone who is interested can have a share of Bitcoin.

Bitcoin blockchain is free at the moment because everyone is holding theirs to see it next pump , imagine a point where everyone wants to transact , it makes the blockchain accumulated , high miners fees, and  imagine paying for a good with bitcoin and the seller has to wait for hours or days to receive his payment.

It's not like development has stopped or anything. In fact, there's going to be a major update on Bitcoin which is the Taproot and Schnorr (though I don't know when). We also have Lightning Network which has the potential to solve transaction speed and fees. As you can see, we'll have the solution in that with time.
343  Other / Meta / Re: What does it take for someone to get banned? on: January 05, 2021, 02:47:15 AM
I think that any account that does not get one Merit or too many activities is useless, ban would be a waste of time.

But if they don't ban him, he'll still keep doing this shit posting and it will be a waste of time for the moderators to delete his post. In this scenario, I think it's better to just ban him to avoid wasting time and effort.
344  Local / Pilipinas / Re: ❗ Security Reminder on: January 04, 2021, 12:51:30 PM
Actually mas makakatipid nga ang paggamit ng non-custodial wallets compared sa coins.ph. Imagine, coins.ph price on BTc, ETH, BCH, and XRP is around 50 to 500 (or more) bigger eh, while the fee of using non-custodial wallet is actually based lang din sa config ng transaction speed na gusto ng user, but secured wise din..

345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH hits $1000 on: January 04, 2021, 03:26:44 AM
As long as Bitcoin don't stop getting traction, I think all altcoins (in the top 10) will also have a positive move upward. That always has been the trend all this years. Add that if Ethereum 2.0 really does a good job, then I think Ethereum is still a good altcoin to invest to.
346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Any pump & Dump Group on: January 03, 2021, 06:11:35 AM
As far as I know, there's none that you can profit. There were lots of groups in telegram and discord that disguise themselves as pump and dump but most admins of those groups are the only ones who are profiting. Where do they profit? from their members of course.

How does pump and dump group works?

* Admins pick an altcoin.
* Admins buy a bunch of those.
* Admins set a timer their members.
* Admins tell the members the name of the altcoins.
* Admins and their VIP members then dump that altcoin after their other stupid members bought it.

You either make your own pump and dump group or waste your money and time trying to find one that doesn't even guarantee money.

347  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New Nocoiner narrative, "Bitcoin is not scarce". on: December 30, 2020, 08:30:11 AM
She is technically correct though that we can divide Bitcoin into smaller pieces
No, she is technically wrong because first of all dividing something into smaller pieces does not change its supply and secondly the bitcoin's unit is satoshi not bitcoin and 1 satoshi can not be divided to a smaller unit. There isn't even any decimal places defined in the protocol, values are using (U)Int64 and when you send/receive funds you are doing it using satoshis.

I see. That explanation makes sense.

Anyways, my point is even with satoshis or decimals as her point, her explanation on scarcity on Bitcoin is still flawed or wrong. I'm curious on what benefit will she get from spouting this kind of things? I don't get it. I can only see her getting negative feedbacks.
348  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New Nocoiner narrative, "Bitcoin is not scarce". on: December 30, 2020, 07:26:48 AM
She is technically correct though that we can divide Bitcoin into smaller pieces but that also comes with its value decreasing proportional to the current price and the amount of sat. At the end of the day, people will want to get a bigger portion of the pie (21 million Bitcoin) because we will never get more than that. That's when scarcity plays.
349  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bittrex removing XRP on: December 30, 2020, 06:48:46 AM
Bittrex is another big exchange that has to suspend XRP trading pairs in fear of legal terms with SEC. Soon surely bigger exchanges will delist XRP pairs in the next few weeks. I already saw this coming but there is one thing that is bothering me, Why they will wait until next year if they can do it now? Is there any kind of news coming from Ripple team?

It's because they want to give traders enough time to withdraw or sell their XRP. Not everyone has access to their exchange 24/7 so it's pretty reasonable that they wait until next year before they delist. Probably after delist, they'll also remove the XRP wallet from their exchange.
350  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today's info to the World from India - Bitcoin on: December 29, 2020, 09:30:39 AM
18% is actually not that bad as many expected to be more that that. There was a news (https://www.coindesk.com/india-plans-to-tax-income-from-bitcoin-investments-report) just early this December that people are expecting like 30% income tax from cryptocurrency which is completely absurd. At least India's tax level is almost the same with Korea which is 20%.
351  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: XRP TRADING SUSPENDED on: December 29, 2020, 07:47:00 AM
I've heard the news. It's pretty devastating to those who really didn't listen to the news. And not just Coinbase, others like crypto.com are also suspending the trade of XRP to US which will start Jan of next year. I can see more companies delisting XRP in the future.

352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which virtual currency is suitable for long-term investment? on: December 28, 2020, 01:35:15 PM
In terms of long term crypto holding, BTC won't fail you. You can look at the chart and history that investing in Bitcoin would yield you reward in the long run. Especially now when companies and large institutions are pouring their money in the market. This is probably one of the best time to invest in Bitcoin because of the support of the larger whales.

353  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When This Scam Will stop?? on: December 28, 2020, 12:44:06 PM
I mean why isn't there any rules for this?

What kinds of rules then? rules about what? rules about not scamming? how do you distinguish between a scammer and a legit project? It's hard right? that's why we can only do our diligence on research about a certain project and raise a flag against them if you found sufficient evidence.

Besides, even if theymos prohibit newbies or copper members from announcing new projects or new bounties, scammers can just try to buy an account so they can bypass this.
354  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Won`t the central bankers still win in the end? on: December 28, 2020, 12:33:12 PM
It will be a central banker with all the bitcoin in the end. They will buy the biggest mining farm and collect all coins through network fees.
Even by holding bitcoin we still lose to the central bankers in the end when we make a transaction they will collect the fees.

Whether it`s 100k USD a coin or 1billion USD a coin, it`s no skin of their back, just pressing a extra few 0`s into the computer when they make fiat.

Bitcoin does not free us from $lavery. It runs off the fumes of fiat.

How we beat them is to make everyone the currency creators, distribute supply 1 hour coin an hour or 1 second coin a second to unique addresses created from a human HWID, iris, fingerprint or heartbeat. That way when the central bankers buy the supply, everyone wins. Sure we don`t beat them, but if you can`t beat them, join them.

How did you come to that conclusion? it's already too late for the banks to control Bitcoin. Look at the current supply right now, it has already been spread into different users and those banks won't be able to do anything about it. Bitcoin has become too big for them to control. They should have started when Bitcoin was just starting.

Sure they can buy a huge amount of Bitcoin but that doesn't give them the control over it. They are just a holder. Sure they can have the largest Bitcoin farm but that doesn't mean they control all of the fees, there will always be someone that will compete with them, most likely China.

At the end of the day banks won't stop Bitcoin, they won't be able to control it.
355  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: According to CoinMarketCap 1 BTC = 0.99997455 BTC (Mod Please move to Off-Topic) on: December 28, 2020, 12:20:16 PM
It's obviously an error on their part. A little advice though - don't take everything in coinmarketcap seriously because they aren't 100% accurate. Always look at it with a grain of salt or you can compare it with other sites like coingecko or something.
356  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New ATH, New ATH, New ATH on: December 26, 2020, 04:41:38 PM
It feels good because I know that every ATH, there's going to be a slight pullback before going up again which means profit. It still sucks though that I've restrained myself from increasing my bag but can't be helped since we can't predict the future.
357  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Bitcoin's fees overpriced? on: December 25, 2020, 09:15:17 AM
It depends on where you use it. if you think transacting for a very amount of money, then Bitcoin's fee is definitely overpriced compared to others but when making larger transactions, Bitcoin is definitely cheaper. That's using the standard wallet of Bitcoin, not custodial or exchange wallets.

For exchanges, they definitely charge absurd amount of fee but that's understandable because they want to get the fastest transaction + probably a little bit of profit.

Will people adopt the Lightning Network more thoroughly as fees soar on the main chain?

This depends on the development of LN. As of now, it's still not viable because there are significant bugs that needed to be fix first.
358  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is headed for the stars, but... on: December 25, 2020, 07:26:02 AM
If possible bitcoin will go $1 million one day, the day is still very far, not 10 years from now because the marketcap needed for that is very high. Did you know that over a trillion marketcap will get bitcoin to just $100000, which means more 10 fold is still required to get it to such price. If more institutions can pump in more money and buy bitcoin, possibly will result to bitcoin getting to such price.

But, what I know is that no matter what, bitcoin price will ever be at increase everytime over long term period.

You actually need more or less $2 trillion for $100,000 each Bitcoin which beats even the largest companies in the world by a lot so $1,000,000 each Bitcoin or $10 trillion is a pipe dream for now because you'll need to make people around the world use Bitcoin as a currency it's as if they are using credit cards or fiat money. USD has $37 trillion worth of money around the world (I don't know if this is accurate but around that or way more) so Bitcoin with $10 trillion marketcap is still nothing compared to USD.
359  Economy / Speculation / Re: How will Bitcoin trend at this time? on: December 25, 2020, 07:11:04 AM
I'm also expecting a kind of pullback, since Holiday season hasn't been great for Bitcoin. Still seeing it hold the $23,000 price shows a glimmer of hope that this bull cycle is not a quick pump and dump. But rather a continuation to the multi year bullrun just like how Plan B has predicted, and right now in a consolidation phase for a next ATH.

There's already a lot of pullback happened so I don't really think Bitcoin would dump below $20,000 again as more institutions keeps withdrawing their Bitcoin from exchanges, meaning, they are holding it for the long run which prevents Bitcoin from dumping any harder.
360  Economy / Economics / Re: Some Company are holding more than 10000 Bitcoin on: December 24, 2020, 09:04:24 AM
I don't know why people are celebrating this? I think this is a pretty bad thing which should stop as soon as possible. In the lure of getting higher prices what we people are not realizing is that these companies are just mine bombs. If a single company like Grayscale decides to sell up all their crypto investments or leave all even if they decide to sell 10% of their total investments together the price would go to ruins? Aren't we hampering the sole purpose of bitcoin that is it's decentralization? We all know that how these corporates have always manipulated the fiat world I don't know why people are happy giving them the key to manipulating the crypto world too.

That's assuming that they actually own 100% of those Bitcoins instead of just holding those Bitcoins for the users. Also, it's not like Bitcoin would die. Bitcoin has been tested countless of times so you should know that Bitcoin is resilient. Well in the future (probably 20 years or so?), we really don't have to worry much because I'm pretty sure that Bitcoin would be spread across different users by that time.
