341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PoS+PoW] eXocoin [EXO]-gen 2.0- dev. from scratch! Give-Away | Open Beta on: July 29, 2014, 07:30:49 PM
With all the delay, we should have exo on Nxt exchange a couple of months ago when anon was willing to issue the asset for it.  It would have been better for exo.

I think we are still few months off from release, given what exo posted two days ago about what more needs to be done before the launch (like code review, which can take months, and will cost money).

Anyone wants anon to release Exo tokens on Nxt exchange?

+2

Send anon a message and invite to this thread. He will issue an asset and we transfer out stakes to it. We can contribute 1000 Nxt transaction fee
342  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: July 29, 2014, 07:17:35 PM

We should not be promoting it until it's even more simpler to use. Last time I checked user had to unzip it to correct directory or something like that. That's unacceptable user experience.

Now that bter closed the refunds. Please hurry up issuing refunds for overcap.

...anywhere i have read the traffic was too low...

Yes, it was listed once but no one was using it.  Nxt users use Bter and Dgex -- most other exchanges are ignored. Plus Bittrex was brand new at that time. No one even trusted the site.
346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: July 29, 2014, 07:50:23 AM

I know, in that case encryption algorithm in white paper is wrong. Nxt never implemented that version. It was changed to ECDH for key exchange and AES for encryption,

Please supply me with correct information, since I do not have access to the beta code.  I will correct the whitepaper.

It's pretty simple.

The key exchange is done with ECDH ( Elliptic curve Diffie–Hellman)  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elliptic_curve_Diffie%E2%80%93Hellman

This is one of they key property of curve25519. It allows two parties that  both have public–private key pair to agree on a shared secret key.

 byte[] dhSharedSecret = new byte[32];
  Curve25519.curve(dhSharedSecret, myPrivateKey, theirPublicKey);

Messages are compressed (zip?) and then encrypted (after hashing the shared secret)  with AES/CBC http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Block_cipher_mode_of_operation#Cipher-block_chaining_.28CBC.29

It was pretty simple code posted on Nxtforum by Drevil

You are Amateurs.

And this start to smell like a scam. You got your 750BTC and you are breaking the rules of your presale despite ALL the investors who oppose against it.

This is a pathetic move, and should have been working on your project instead of dealing with this shit along with the stupid ticker polls.

It's a shame that this promising project is being manages by kids.

What is the rush I wonder... I would have to advise BTER not to release the funds and not to agree to this non-sense.

Even though I agree it was bad decision, just let it go. They should have waited 12 more days -- no question about it.

You don't have to buy it when it goes on sale (I won't).

It's going to be way overpriced first few month anyway.

349  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Moderated Thread - Logo Voting Has Begun[Updates & Discussion] on: July 29, 2014, 06:45:17 AM

1. i go to NXTblocks.info and open a wallet,,,i set password and i got a wallet identifier: X6L5-F4T7------,
(what is it for ? is it like my account on NXT-AE ? )

Think of identifier as a name of wallet file. Your wallet is on NXTblocks server, but it's encrypted by your password. The identifier downloads the correct wallet so you can decrypt it in your browser.

This has nothing to do with Nxt, but how NXTblocks wallet works (with a wallet file, like bitcoin).

Quote
3. i go to AE,, and find the NEMstake market,, but i cant find the buttons to BUY or SELL...
only see the buying and selling orders..

NXTblocks wallet hasn't yet implemented AE. It's upcoming feature.

Quote
4. so, i need to send 1nxt from my account ID: NXT-KKFH-M4RE-HREC-CK8Z8
and then, i will have the stake token in this account ID,, right ?

There is no such account http://www.nxtreporting.com/?a=NXT-KKFH-M4RE-HREC-CK8Z8&c=USD

Quote
5. after i receive my token, how to sell ? because i cant find any BUY or SELL button in the NEMstake market....

As someone suggested, use https://trade.secureae.com/ wallet. It's totally secure lightweight wallet too, as password never leaves your machine/browser (does local signing in the browser).  You don't need to download/install any software and no blockchain to worry about.

thank you very much Eadeqa !
now, i go to SAE,, and i open an account, info as attached photo.

so, i need send 1nxt to devs nxt acc. from this ID:1435..........
and claim the token,,

and i will receive the token in my ID 1435...... , right ?

Yes, if you click on the ID it will copy it to clipboard. Make sure it's correct. You can send Nxt to this account,, then do one outgoing transaction (maybe buy a stake called "love"  to protect your account with 256 bit public key).

Don't lose your username/password

Before asking for token, you should send some (small amount) nxt to it and then buy something, just to make sure everything is working

When are the overcap refunds are being given? I will dump whatever I get and dump the overcap  into ETH or more into Nxt.  No, I won't be "buying" at overpriced rate any time soon.

I am done with Crypti. Won't even download the software and just dump the tiny amount on Bter.

I still think the IPO was "better" than all those "fair distribution" nonsense that encourages sock puppets and lying.

Good luck to those invested.

It sounds like the people that are upset were on the waiting list and not current investors... I thought u were heavy into ETH

I am into Nxt, though I think  ETH investors will make money, regardless of nonsense that is posted about ETH

Also I think crypti broke it's IPO rules. Everyone in the waiting list would have made it as there were refunds every day and we had 2 more weeks to go.

Important update

Following the overwhelming majority of buyers voting positively to start an early trading, we have contacted Bter to provide us with the final data snapshot.
We are now updating the ledger with the final data, and will publish it soon. Once done, we will provide Bter with the final list of ID's, in order to perform the distribution and any remaining refunds.

Pre-Trade Announcement & Ticker chosen!

As an investor, i dont know if this is good or bad   Undecided

It was clearly a a breach of contract. They initially said people who bought CRtokens after the cap was reached would be eligible if there are enough refunds. We already had around 5 BTC refunds and it looked like that would have continued for the next 12 days, but they breached their contract by halting the refunds.

Moreover, the official ticker XCR was chosen by the community, and reserved on Bter!

Pre-Trade Announcement & Ticker chosen!

This was a breach of contract, as people who were waiting to get on the list due to ongoing refunds now have no chance.

Great, I've let Joefox know >>>> https://nxtforum.org/nxt-whitepaper/completely-revamped-nxt-whitepaper-draft/msg72059#msg72059

But I think idea was just to represent Nxt in its current form (i.e. economic clustering isn't in yet IIRC) so gets updated with each new release.

There is no message encryption in the current version.

Coming in next release.....probably Friday.

I came across someone today who thought Nxt didn't have a whitepaper so just wanted to bump that...

Nxt has a whitepaper! And a paper that describes the Math of Forging written by a retired Maths Professor. And others and lots of articles

Check them out below  Grin

Source >>>> https://nxtforum.org/general-discussion/nxt-papers-whitepapers-academic-and-economic/

I looked at the whitepaper, scrolling down to 2.5.1 Encryption Algorithm and it's already wrong/outdated.

Nxt uses ECDH for key exchange and AES for encrypting messages between users. That's how it's done in the upcoming beta version, and messages can be attached to all transactions just like Nem

357  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: **Get you coins on BITTREX by posting here!** on: July 28, 2014, 07:19:12 PM
There was "Nxt" on BITTREX for months. The volume was basically zero, something like $2  worth in 24 hours.

Most people seemed to miss the fact that Nxt was actually on there, and/or Bittrex was not trusted enough at the time. Should be a better result this time, hopefully.

Trust was not the issue. Most nxt users are so used to Bter and Dgex, they really bother going anywhere else for trading.

That's the first "IF".  It took a literal decade plus to get all the bugs in Java and C++ worked out, and to educate a generation of developers to program in that language.  Who is going to program in Ethereum, to bring all the "flexible stuff" you want, if nobody is versed in the language?

"If" Ethereum comes out.. what then?  Maidsafe barely grew any capitalization beyond its' IPO.  Mastercoin, which was the first grand IPO, is now a dying stagnating coin.   Ethereum is stuck being this ponzi scheme ran by a few wealthy investors that will likely just stagnate.  There's no incentive for subsequent investors to come in.

Vitalik and the Ethereum crew get nervous and/or refuse to answer questions when other 2.0 coins are mentioned.  I bet even NODE is better than Ethereum, LOL.

Ethereum being PoW / PoS hybrid (emphasis on the former) technically makes it a generation 1.5 coin in my book, even with the new 'programming language' that probably won't be put to much use until 10 years down the line.

Not a single thing you  posted is based on facts, just pure speculation, envoy, and wishful thinking.
360  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypti | Launch August | 100% POS | New Source | 750 BTC goal is reached! on: July 28, 2014, 06:29:29 AM
ETH is good too but the presale price is quite high.

How can ETH presale price be high when the amount of generated coins in the genesis block depend on the BTC invested? If it was cheaper, you still would have the exact same number of BTC invested but more coins generated in genesis block.

Ok. Take a look at it from this point. In order to get x10 ROI with Crypti its market cap should be ~9000 BTC. To get x10 ROI with Ethereum its market cap should be ~100 000 BTC. What is more possible? One more thing. Investors' part of emission become less and less every day because of miners. All Eth investors are pretty much fucked up.

There is no question that mining will dilute the investment, but that has absolutely nothing to do with it being "expensive" as there is no fixed number. As for who will make more eventually, that totally depends of adoption and popularity.  Bitcoin  inflation rate first 4 year was like 35%? That didn't hurt early adopters becoming rich.
