3521  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So much lulz in this article.... (5 reasons you should avoid Bitcoin) on: July 06, 2012, 02:36:06 AM
*facepalm*

Someone that hates bitcoin is paying her to write this. Example of above quote. Hmmm.

Quote
Hosting companies Dreamland Metaverse and TalentRaspel specialize in setting up custom virtual currencies for private grids — and the Website infrastructure needed to manage them. And the currency modules are also available, if you have the technical skills to set it up on your own.

The article actually links to these two.

The article actually was paid by those two, who may well be one and the same lol

I am confused, my quote is linked in the article? I don't follow, could someone explain to me in a way I might understand?

No, the 2 companies on that quote below yours are linked from the article, on the last paragraph. Altho it' just links to blog posts about those comanies, it's still advertising.

Nothing more than a sponsored blog post.

3523  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 100% proof pirate runs a ponzi (thought experiment) on: July 05, 2012, 05:18:10 PM
Hey hazek,

I'm not following the situation with pirate, but this seems like a big issue -if true- needs to be addresses.

You obviously came to your findings based on evidence you have found and

*we actually do have some circumstantial evidence based on pirates posts that does tip the scale slightly in favor of a ponzi scam but nothing that could stick in a court of law

In that paste you cited some proof, can you share it ?

EDIT: I'v read some others posts as well on the topic so would be cool to hear your side

-Charlie

Here are some of the things that are alarming:

alarming != proof, LogicMan.
3524  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Buy me .com domain for 2BTC on: July 05, 2012, 04:12:55 PM
I will buy it for you if you open an account at internetbs.net so I can push it to your account(free).
Will not hold a domain in my name that could possibly be used for something illegal.
Also, that way you can manage it yourself. DNS and stuff you know?
Internetbs.net also has Private Whois for free, not just the 1st year.
3525  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Putting your money where Pirate's mouth is. on: July 05, 2012, 03:14:55 PM
One thing though, can I raise the bet later during its run-time? My odds should be worse by then, no? Otherwise it'll take a moment longer because I can't settle on an amount quickly.

Normally sure, but I'm not going to be sitting around watching the bet while you add mining additions day by day.  You sound sure enough now, why wait?  I'm sure you could collect a bunch from all the other doubters.  This is your chance, STICK IT TO THE MAN!

...and get bankrupt on the process... lol
3526  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whitelist Requests (Want out of here?) on: July 05, 2012, 12:58:58 AM
psy why you have in your web  regatu as a scam and a link to it in your signature if its not trustable?

Because they paid for x Days for it to be there. Won't be there much more days.
Despite that, I recall that subject was addressed by Rugatu and the person who complained was somewhat satisfied.
They didn't solve previous erros, but they implemented new rulings. Something along those lines.
Would only be fair to give them the time to fix their mistakes.
The topic is there just to see if someone else complaints. Then we know he have a problem. lol
3527  Economy / Services / Re: 3BTC bounty: convert these youtubes to mp3 TODAY on: July 05, 2012, 12:51:19 AM
set up your bounties correctly next time.

there was no "thank you",
there was no tip

there was nothing

only after i asked, i got a cocky answer that i did "not fully complete" the bounty.

then make the task so, that one can finish it.

typical german!

be careful dealing with this guy. CROOKED!

Clearly, one could finish it. In fact, two finished it. You didn't.
I don't see a reason why you should be so outraged.
3528  Economy / Lending / Re: Btc loan request 4.5btc on: July 05, 2012, 12:26:29 AM
What I found really disrespectful was when nckrazze insisted a lender did the shoe on head thing to get a loan.

If he thought he was a scammer I could understand it, but he filled the loan then posted the photo Undecided

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=88453

I think he also didn't got paid on that loan lol
He didn't lended the 5 BTC, he bought a pic of the guy with the shoe on it's head and paid 5 BTC for it Grin
3529  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whitelist Requests (Want out of here?) on: July 05, 2012, 12:14:22 AM
Could I get a slightly early whitelist, please? They're discussing my site (and a potential bug with it) over in https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=82450 and I'd like to be able to reply.

You should get Jr. Member status in a couple minutes as you already passed 4 hrs online and have more than 5 posts.
It takes some minutes to assume the new permissions.
3530  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whitelist Requests (Want out of here?) on: July 04, 2012, 11:22:53 PM
I would like to request whitelisting.

I have been using for >10 hours and have about 20 PMs but struggle to talk about general dribble on the newbie board.

I have been running a GPU rig for about 3 months as a proof of concept and am now moving into FPGAs - Cairnsmore1 based farm.

As for my technical knowledge, I have a BEng - Elec & MEng - Systems (with subjects in Cryptography, B2B e-commerce & Cybersecurity).

I am active on Linkedin, especially the Bitcoin forums there. Linkedin ref check via http://www.linkedin.com/pub/shayne-wright/13/5ab/956

You are whitelisted.
3531  Economy / Securities / Re: BS&T -- Are you staying or leaving? on: July 04, 2012, 10:39:06 PM
@Vandroiy

Let's say you have 135K USD right now.  I need you to buy Bitcoins without changing the Mt.Gox rate by 2%.  You have 3 days to do it, nah I'll give you 7 days.  GO!!!

Let me know how that works out for you.

Call bit-pay, private deal done in 10 minutes.

Next question?

How much will bit-pay earn from that private deal?
Also, $135k? In their pocket, regularly? BFL isn't taking pre-orders all the time, remember?
The kind of volume they faced in those days was even press release worthy for them Roll Eyes
3532  Economy / Lending / Re: Btc loan request 4.5btc on: July 04, 2012, 08:09:20 PM
Don't you feel like these bets are a little degrading to those who have the potential to be good borrowers? It seems a little rude.

Exactly. Better do it on PM.
3533  Economy / Lending / Re: Btc loan request 4.5btc on: July 04, 2012, 07:26:24 PM
I bet 1 BTC that he will pay it back  Roll Eyes

I will take that bet.

It's geting every day more usual, to bet on the chances of repayment.
I'm already seeing the Lending section being merged with Gambling lol
3534  Economy / Services / Re: Shades Minoco / Shakaru / Collections / Debt on: July 04, 2012, 06:00:14 PM
Hi everyone, I wasn't updated so much about this situation.

Is that spreadsheet still updated?
Is there any hope there will be further payments?

Thanks

I've received 2x5 btc transactions over the past 2 weeks or so.  I've not updated the spreadsheet in about 2 weeks.  I was planning on doing one at the end of the month.  The 10btc when split up ends up making a bunch of change which then gets hit with fees and eats up what very little of a refund there is.

Use sendmany. 1 fee, multiple payments Wink
3535  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Bitcoin Savings and Trust | Home on: July 04, 2012, 03:50:36 PM
Pirate, do you have a Skype or other VoIP account? Why not hold a conference and assuage your inventors.

I'm pretty sure it's not his investors who are bombarding him with questions Wink
3536  Economy / Securities / Re: BS&T -- Are you staying or leaving? on: July 04, 2012, 03:26:47 PM
Hey, Goat. Stop being an asshole, OK?

Point to me which of my posts was an off-topic troll on Pirate's thread, please.

In fact I have the opposite opinion of Maged and BadBear, but I will not let any of you attack them for stating their own opinions, or else I'm opening the door for people to attack me and/or try and silence me just because there is a title of Staff under my username.

What you said just proves that you didn't even read any of my posts on Pirate's thread, and just assume I'm anti-Pirate because there is Staff written under my name.
Way to be blind, asshole.

Asking me to not be an asshole? oh lol! I thought I was a fussy prick? What a clown you are.

Being anti-pirate does not equal troll. Being anti-pirate is a ninja. Sadly you are just a troll, not a ninja.

I said you were an off topic insulting troll and you should know better but I guess you do not as you are doing it again.

I have respect for Bad Bear and esp Maged. You on the other hand, lol....

I'm pretty sure you have more respect for me than the rest of the forum has respect for you.
Also, the one collecting money from others to invest in Pirate is you. All I have in there are my personal funds.

I'm still waiting for your lawsuit. I sent you my full name and address 6 months ago. Have go at it.
Put up or shut up.
3537  Other / Meta / Re: Mods: Keep your opinions to yourself (split from BS&T Home thread) on: July 04, 2012, 03:01:33 PM
Just wait until the outcome is clear, then demote the mods that were engaged heavily on the wrong side of a flamewar. An operator who fuels up a flamewar to help a scammer is unacceptable, so there will be a reckoning after the show.

The first thing I'll do after the game is demoting psy, probably using just a single quote. Enjoy your remaining time with the staff tag. I hope, though, that you will resign the position on your own and apologize, because it would suck if even an old moderator account were in on this.

Being a moderator does not mean one can get away with anything because "oh, this had nothing to do with my moderation role". There are enough users already who post with their head in offline mode.

What does the fact of me being a moderator has to do with me defending MY OWN beliefs?
I'm not collecting anyone elses money to invest in Pirate, I only have MY OWN money there.

I invite you to search for any post on my posting history where I talked as a Moderator and did a bad job at it.
Most likey you will not find any because I'm conscious enough to just delete spam posts and whitelist new members. Moderating discussions is not for me and wasn't the reason I accepted to be part of the staff and theymos was made well aware of that fact before promoting me, and I'm sure he can confirm it if you ask nicely.

You're as much of an asshole as Goat is.
Go fuck yourself. <<-- You can quote that.

Now I will quote theymos just for your reading pleasure:
I don't require moderators to pledge an oath of neutrality in all forum discussions. Smiley Moderators will not censor themselves. I'll express my opinions freely, and I expect other moderators (and other members) to do the same.

If you're not happy with the way the forum is run you're free to leave, I think. Don't let the door hit you on your way out.

Link to zip file containing the 24 MP3 PM'd.

Hope you do good on your seminar.
Bleh, you're faster then me by 10 minutes!  Damn the ADSL lines here! Grin

Dude, I'm using 3G with a crap bandwidth lol Believe me that uploading a zip file with 150MB isn't easy or fast.
But I uploaded using FTP to one of my servers, so I could resume the upload if it failed.
