And when a bunch of 250MHs hashers come on line attacking those new coins and dumping them?  How profitable will it be then.  When KNC and GAW vault breakers ship, very likely before Alpah Tech does they are going to squeeze the profits from the multi pools fast.  You'll just be picking up the crumbs.

Oh now that's silly, that's sensible and took a thought process to determine. Stop doing that.. it ruins folks' reality and expectations.

Because difficulty of multicoin pools will never skyrocket with 9-20 petahashes coming online globally within this quarter...

Hey I've got a plan. Let's solicit 30% prepay for a scrypt asic miner that has not been invented yet. The fact that we do not have a fucking clue what we are doing, and no idea how to make a chip doesn't matter. We can talk all fancy-like and swoon people to gives us bitcoin and cash. Our bank accounts will look good and we can buy couscous, iphones, and new cars for ourselves and drive around saying 'hey look at me, I run this cool company'.

You know what's sad, it's actually a good gig they have going for themselves. If they pad and price appropriately, they could take only 30% to pay for all of the equipment, and then leave everyone stranded and end up with a free farm.

KNC's gear was 90% profit.

Don't forget about one thing. To start shipping end of September everything must go perfect from now on. There is no room for any, even tiny problem. If they have started the new tape-out week or 2 weeks ago the chips will be produced middle of September. Until that time they have to arrange chip boards (which is bunch of colored squares right now), PSU boards, PSUs and cases. They have to prepare firmware for their controller boards. WIFI is back in the manual they referred to. Wink And when the chips arrive all these components have to miraculously and flawlessly co-operate together to allow shipment within 2 weeks. That is not gonna happen.

Not to mention this, once again, brings back that ugly stepchild known as, "CE Certification", which requires fully functional units to be evaluated. Unless they wing it with a self-cert. Good luck with customs on the self cert.

To all Alpha Tech customers that have NOT been banned from their forum.  Don't get all cattywoompus over there.  I'm sure that in preparation for posting that announcement they have been polishing their banhammer.  But if you don't mind getting banned I can show you how to use proxies to get around the ban.
Bah! you don't need proxies. Turn your router off for 5 mins, clear your browser history and you're all set. I'm on my fifth ban over there Grin

Well, not everyone has DHCP for WAN. For folks who don't, proxies work great. So would showing up in person, we're all waiting for that. Smiley
385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: July 28, 2014, 11:21:14 PM

are you sure alpha tech asics cant do N coins? flowertech asics can do it

https://www.flowertechnology.com/about/

Alpha-T ASICS can't do anything right now. They don't exist. All we have is a pinout diagram.

I laughed so hard when I read this... haha, thanks.
386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: July 28, 2014, 10:24:04 PM
Oh, I'm sitting on millions of dollars so yes, $50k ain't that much. It's ok. Don't feel pity. I could care less. I have more fun making fun of these assholes that took my money, then actually mining with their supposed "invisible" Vipers to be fairly honest.

Well, considering the net investment and return, so far we're each ahead of you by $50k. So I feel pretty rich about that, and I'll bet retro does as well Wink
387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: July 28, 2014, 10:21:35 PM
One thing is for sure, nothing Alpha-Tech will positive-ROI in the near-term unless the currencies being mined suddenly skyrocket. For someone to pick a random coin and show that it's making 1.2btc/day @ 200+mh is shortsighted and lacking basic analysis. If difficulty for most of the popular coins does anything like it did with BTC last year, which it will, you can kiss returns goodbye.

KNC by itself is shipping 3 times the network hash of litecoin, for its first batch. There are other companies shipping right now, with more closing in.

Best of luck.

It's not my system, I just happened to be on it at the time. Very aware of the issues, thanks though.
389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] "BitBaY" Commission Bonds thread! on: July 28, 2014, 06:53:23 PM

Fully funded no I wish. As you can imagine Legal cost can be costly especially with start ups like this.
I will have that checked out. I am amazed that people still actually use IE ewww. Smiley

For what it's worth, the site won't load on IE8 through a proxy.

Also, crowdfunding? Weren't you guys fully funded?

Yeah, it's not my choice, it's what I'm forced to use where I'm sitting at the moment. I figured it may be beneficial to try it out.

lmfao. can't believe you fell for it. It's a shame you aren't fighting till the end. You shouldn't have given in. no no no sir.

Says the guy who gave them how many tens of thousands of dollars?

and oh btw bumface. Stop riding Alpha Technologies dick please. They've shown NOTHING that's of substance. All those bullshit they've spewed I can't believe you're taking in. Are you made of bullshit too? Like are the atoms in your body categorized as BULLSHIT? Because that's all I can think of why you're still riding their dick. The other reason is that you have Down Syndrome which, if you think about it, is actually a pretty plausible scenario.

This is why I was originally asking him why he was so skiddish out of nowhere. For like 40 pages he was pro Alpha Tech and waving the flag of belief, and then his next series of posts were ones completely out of pattern.
392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: July 28, 2014, 06:09:04 PM
What I'm saying is, it doesn't look like you were scammed. You been here since January, ok. cool story bro. You've been sucking Alpha Technologies dick for 7 months already. Great. Thanks for letting me know. If you haven't been scammed, why are you wasting your time here honestly? Don't you have anything better to do? A wife to tend to? (or are you gay?) seriously. GTFO of this forum mate. The reason I'M here is because shipping is suppose to be NOW and I came here and what did I see? People flipping the shit out. I research more into this and wow. yea they are scam. Ever heard of the duck? If it quacks like one ..walks like one...whatever forget it..you know what I'm talking about. It doesn't take a genius (like you say you are) to know that they are a sham. You've wasted months on end only to come to a conclusion that they are a scam when I did in TWO WEEKS with NO UK laws AT HAND? Wow you must be a REAL genius. Anyways, you keep wasting your time here and throwing UK laws around this forum. Until I get my money back and these scumbags get thrown into jail, all your spewing is shit after shit after shit in my books. Keep doing it mate and waste your own time. You wanna know what I think? It's not worth it. Just leave.

See the funny thing is, I called this a long time ago. And didn't give them any money. What's that, you gave them money? That's unfortunate.

Your understandable anger, doesn't justify your outlash at people who are trying to help folks who have been hurt. Your diarrhea of the mouth is no more helpful than folks who are bloating the thread with long quotes or funny quips.

In other words, you're no different than the person you're complaining about.

Actually, there is a difference--you're acting like a jockstrap teenager pounding their chest making claims of death and destruction, while the other person is actually benefitting the public.

So why don't you actually make good on your threats, and head over to the UK and take care of business--or kindly say nothing unless it's helpful to everyone?

Grin

the same as bitcoin grows - noone sees any "delays in production so far and expect to start shipping well before the end of Q3"

im very curios if this Statements are worth a penny when the end of q3 comes

They've never been wrong on production updates, and when they were late they at least stated it. Keep in mind this isn't their first rodeo. This is their... 10th? I wouldn't worry about KNC as much as I would.. AlphaTech.
394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: July 28, 2014, 02:16:21 PM
These folks just don't stop with the smoke do they? And notice how the update is coming from the big cheese, instead of the little squeeze.

Quote
As such we must unfortunately announce that we have had technical issues during tape-out which has caused us to have to do some portion of the ASIC layout one more time thus delaying the chip fabrication.

Another red flag. This is interesting considering their last report regarding tapeout was they had finished tests and were just a few days shy of packaging and shipping. THINK ABOUT THIS FOLKS! They started design in spring of 2013. In spring of 2014 they claimed to have a perfect design, and in May 2014 they claimed tests were perfect. More than likely their acceptance of 'varied quality chips' is what ruined them.

Quote
but also fast tracked it and corrected this issue if we were allowed funds from PayPal which they have decided to hold until delivery. We have had to rely on other sources of funding for this which we have achieved, so we are fully funded and tape-out is mid-way now there can be no more delay. In parallel to the tape-out process we have already started our fabrication of the PCB’s and enclosures, which we will display in our next update.

They're fast-tracking a 2nd tapeout? Didn't they fast-track the first one and it ended up being ruined? So they're fully funded for 20x the original project cost, despite claiming to be a startup with no money, and only having a few of the deposit funds? (10x for the hashrate boost, 10x for redoing it). Think about this!

Quote
In the interest of there being no confusion, July while it was our genuine expectation, is not mentioned in our terms.

False, even in emails up through March/April they were discussing July as the latest promised delivery point, and based on advertisements from day 1 they promised it "or your money back". That is a term.

Quote
As a result of this we have decided to announce shipping to be September as per our terms, this is something we have learnt we should have done from the start so we can avoid expectations and hopefully only announce good news. We know this news is unpleasant for all rest assured this includes ourselves, we have always tried to do right by you but may have perhaps over promised when we should have been more conservative all we can do now is learn from this mistake.

In other words, they weren't capable of such business execution to begin with. They had no experience, and now they're eating it, hard. This means for you folks who are paying these people, you'll be waiting at least 60 more days. That won't help your bottom line at all, with KNC and other folks likely shipping in August.

Quote
We also want to remind you we have increased the hash rate of these devices from what we were obligated to deliver by 10 fold at our expense, our terms only state minimum 25 Mh/s. We saw we had the capability do it and made a decision to put customers first in order to gain their loyalty for future batches. We must also remind you of the benefits of being a batch 1 customer, you will receive free shipping for batch 2 and a 10% discount off any future batch of your choice (we hope to avoid pre-orders for future batches).

WARNING: My suggestion is for folks to require this company change the terms to specify the new hashrates as the minimum. They keep flogging you guys over the head saying "it's not in our terms to provide more than 25mhs". Be warned, you could end up with a machine of less than promised hashrate, and then they'll tell you that they don't have to support you because their terms only specify 25mhs. This happened to many batch 1 KNC customers. This is very important! Get them to update the terms!

Another red flag. And they still haven't completed the supplementary boards? For a company who's "greatest hopes" were to ship in July, I find it *really* odd they had NONE of the required support equipment *already built*. How the hell were they supposed to ship thousands of units without PCB's or cases? It's obvious what occurred: They knew about these issues in MAY, which is right about when the development of the supplemental gear seemed to stop--they stopped talking about it, and everything went silent on the development front. If they knew about this in MAY, and are telling you 60 days later .... what were they doing this whole time?

As I've suspected for awhile, I believe their intentions on the outset were genuine, but they lacked the ability to properly accomplish the task at hand. Shipping in September means a likelyhood of October arrivals of your equipment. I don't have to tell you what this means for folks wanting to get money out of this. Your best bet is to immediately resell the equipment online, even at a slight loss if necessary

I have yet to hear anything back from my return email allowing them one more response before involving myself any deeper than I currently am, but it has only been 1 day, so I will see in the next couple of days if they choose to rectify the situation.

Well, best of luck. You're not the first person to do exactly this. The others got no response I believe.
396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: July 28, 2014, 12:23:08 PM
Hey guys,

From the looks of it a lot of you paid via credit card. Did anyone here pay via bitcoin? If so, what the hell do we do!?
To make things worse, I'm living in the UK also.

Hope somebody can help, I've only just come to the conclusion that these people are incompetent scammers.

Regards

Many folks paid via bitcoin. Right now it seems like the best thing folks can do is group together and, as a union, seek legal action. Document everything you can--all communication you've had with them. Retro has posted some good guides and links over the past 10..20? pages.

You could try emailing them about the status of matters, but that doesn't seem to go anywhere.

If you're in the UK, I would advise visiting. Nobody has done that recently, at least that is publicly known.
397  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: July 26, 2014, 09:12:01 PM
You know guys, it is possible that they did receive the chips, and did build the gear... and are mining with the gear, and will mine with it until it's not worth anything to them, and then ship. Which is what BFL did with its first 2 generations of gear, and what KNC did with part of its gear.

Doubtful: They would have released pictures, just to quiet ppl down.

BFL never did ... except to show prototypes and talk about hashrates. Similar pattern. Still, it's just one idea. The more likely is the most simplistic: they simply crumbled under their own project.

Why are you antsy all of a sudden?

I wouldn't be surprised if you were one of many of Fiaz's fake accounts. Either you realize the gravity of the issue at hand NOW or just shut the fuck up. Thank you.

69bulldozers, you should thank VesperWillow. He is one of the people most active in pulling the curtain over Alpha-T activities aside so that alpha-t customers get a better view of the stage.

Thank you good sir. I was wondering what got up dozer's ass, considering I've been trying to blow the whistle on these guys for months.

Then I realized, it's because he's a victim like many others. It's really a shame.

And for bumface to be antsy, you know it's getting serious. Seems like he might be seeing that they're on their 672nd broken promise this year.
