Many are because it was opposite to what most expected.
Then they're silly billies. Most people on this forum are interested in Bitcoin because it might provide them with one thing - more dollars. That's doubly or triply the case for high rollers. Trading to wind up with BTC is going to be niche however you wish to look at it. It's cool that it exists and one day it will be a powerful market factor but it could be a considerable wait. Seconded. |

Yes, but it will not affect bitcoin's price.
Bitcoin will continue to follow its four-year cycle (with a small possibility of a five-year cycle) where there will be one full bull year and one full bear year. The price will follow the log scale.
I dont believe there will be the massive adoption some people expect. Bitcoin will continue as a digital currency and store of value, with speculation driving its price, but it will not be adopted by the masses.
I see a lot of hatred and vitriol against bitcoin outside of this forum, so Im not convinced we will see massive adoption by the average Joe. We will probably see adoption by financial institutions, banks and even governments (as a State investment, not as a official currency) which will drive the price higher, and decrease the influence of the whales.
More intelligent, well-informed people will be buying bitcoin, while the masses will suffocate under a global crysis. This could lead to a dangerous situation for most holders, so keeping a low profile is fundamental if you plan to hold it for a long time.

Plebs dont like the technology behind bitcoin. They want it only for quick profits, and see it as a ponzi scheme. This will only change when governments adopt bitcoin as a second currency, which will probably not happen since it would threat the dollar as the global reserve currency. I dont need to remind anyone about what happened to Lybia when they tried to create a regional reserve currency. Let the plebs be plebs and let the whales accumulate. We cant change human nature. |

Fora deste forum, eu vejo muita hostilidade contra o bitcoin, principalmente entre o público brasileiro.
Eu tenho minhas dúvidas quanto à adoção em massa. Acho que não acontecerá. A inveja é patológica e acredito que possa levar à um comportamento homicida.
Eu só consigo ver adoção em massa se os bancos, as instituições financeiras e o Estado adotarem o bitcoin.
A melhor precaução é não informar quanto você tem à ninguém. Pois fora daqui estamos em terreno muito hostil, e o investing.com é uma prova disso.

Desde pequeno eu sei que o brasileiro sofre da síndrome de caranguejo no balde, e tem uma inveja patológica e destrutiva dos seus melhores, que afeta até mesmo familiares próximos.
Eu tenho lido a sessão de comentários do investing.com, e 90% dos posts são de nocoiners torcendo pela desgraça alheia, e desejando a destruição do bitcoin, tanto no valor quanto no projeto. A inveja fica bem evidente nos posts deles, e não sei em qual limite isso pode chegar.
Como você se sente sabendo que, a qualquer momento, o bitcoin pode iniciar uma corrida de touros que pode levá-lo para 100 mil dólares, e que uma caça às bruxas pode começar lá fora? Você costuma informar quantos bitcoins você tem para outras pessoas, ou para instituições? Costuma comprar muitos produtos usando bitcoin? Nocoiners podem se tornar um problema no futuro, pois a inveja deles pode levar à uma inquisição contra o bitcoin, com toda sorte de teoria de conspiração servindo de combustível.

I don't know this guy but his hardware wallet is yelling "SCAM"! I suppose that his plans are as following, - Release a compromised hardware wallet in a very low price
- Call a random huge target for Bitcoin in order to get people's attention
- People who noticed will google for the name "Bobby Lee" and they'll find out about a new hardware wallet which is very cheap
- Some will buy this wallet and store their coins in
- When he has sold enough and the BTC price goes higher, he uses the private keys he has stored, steals the coins and pulls an "oops, we got hacked"
Technically though, I suppose this wouldn't be a steal... since the private keys were his from the start and people decide to store money on HIS keys!  I need to bookmark this post of mine and lol about it when this comes true in a year or two! You've just summarized how all this "hacking" in exchanges go. But most people prefer that way. They dont want to have responsibility over their own money. Thats why I dont believe bitcoin will destroy the banking system. Banks oppose it only because they are run by boomers. I like to think that if you dont have your own private keys, then you are still a nocoiner. This people who keep all their bitcoin in exchanges, and dont have their own wallets? Nocoiners, all of them. |

In addition to Israel, agonist theorists have new discussion topics, such as Trump and Libra. I think this is a good advertisement for Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. Maybe people who are addicted to conspiracy theories can learn more about Bitcoin and maybe even start using it.
Sorry, but I know the type, they will never adopt bitcoin. They need the evil conspiracies to rule the Earth, so that they can sell books about these groups. Its just business for them. |

Say what you want, but Segwit was a good thing for bitcoin. If it was not for Segwit, we would be paying higher fees today, and the network would be slower. Just imagine the network of 2015-2016 with the adoption of today, it would clog up.
And this is coming from someone who keeps most of his stash in legacy addresses, so no partisanship here.

Se eu compro dólar de um banco ou doleiro, não estou importando dolar tambem. O doleiro que importou ele quando comprou de um estrangeiro. Mas o banco central ainda assim contabiliza da mesma forma. Só estão padronizando a contabilidade da forma que é mais benéfica pra eles.
Mas neste caso é o doleiro que pagou pela importação do dólar. Você só está comprando da mão dele, dentro do país, logo o banco central vai mirar o doleiro, não você. Se o dólar já está dentro do país, não é importação. Mesma coisa com o bitcoin. Só o primeiro comprador que o importou, os demais estão movimentando dinheiro que continuará dentro do país. Outra coisa, dólar só pode ser impresso pelo banco central americano, mas bitcoin pode ser minerado por qualquer um. Como é que o banco central vai saber se aquele bitcoin foi minerado aqui ou na China? Se foi minerado aqui, então nunca houve importação. Agora, se eles também consideram o bitcoin minerado no Brasil como importação, então o bitcoin deveria ter um país para holders. Pelo que entendi, eles consideram todo bitcoin como não existindo dentro do brasil. então sempre que vc compra bitcoin, vc está "importando", e semrpe que vende está "exportando". Seria com ose a internet inteira estivesse fora do brasil. No caso de quem minera, ele está importando bitcoin sem "pagar" por isso. Como se eu viajasse pros EUA, trabalhasse lá uma semana, e voltasse com os dolares que ganhei no bolso. Uma noção totalmente errada, pois se o cidadão minera o bitcoin aqui, ele está gastando energia elétrica do Brasil. E se ele comprou e vendeu dentro do país, logo o bitcoin está sendo transferido entre carteiras armazenadas em computadores ou celulares dentro do país. E se os provedores de internet são nacionais, logo a internet não está fora do país. Se estivesse, então que abrisse o mercado para concorrentes de fora, pois os provedores nacionais estão organizados num cartel, e você só tem duas opções na maioria das cidades brasileiras. Se eles querem tratar a internet como um país à parte, então que levem uma proposta para a ONU de reconhecer o bitcoin como um país e designar terras para este país, além de passaportes para os holders. |

48 hours have passed and we didnt had a "huge drop". Instead the price just touched the four digits area, providing a new buying opportunity. Give it some time. 48 hours was unrealistic to begin with. But the general idea ($8K range) is still possible, even likely. Higher time frames are clearly in a downtrend and we're only hovering a few hundred dollars above the July bottom. A general rule in trading is that if the market keeps hammering the same support (in this case the low $9,000s) over and over, it's likely to break. Certainly, its possible, but the OP said 48 hours, its on the title. Im holding to buy anything right now, because the market is undecided as where to go. |

It's $5 billion worth of BTC we're talking about. Where the hell are you going to find a buyer for such amounts? Even a whole group cannot carry out a transaction in one full year because the amount is too big. True. But, on the other hand, CSW might be lying again. Maybe he have the wallets, but dont have their passwords. |
