Just because the capitulation already happened, dont means we should be spending rocket memes. Price is still too cheap, too low. We need to be at least on 10k, which is half of last ATH, to start posting rocket memes. For now, its more apropriate to post elevators.

I agree. There are people posting rockets with just a small $300 rise. The more the delusion, the longer will be the bear market. And it seems futile to discuss it, as they might call you a shill or mistake you for a bear.

Its more likely that we will see 3k by January 2019, than a 10k floor being consolidated. We might reach 10k by December, but then the whales will short it again, due to the holidays. Right now, bitcoin is already too cheap.

Thats true. If they dont sell to pay taxes, it would not drop to 3k.

But every end of year there are these drops. Some say its because Christmas, others say its because taxes.

I think we will see 3k in January. Theres always that talk about end of the year profits, where the speculators dump their coins for the holidays. They do it every year.

É caro e restrito porque usam estações terrestres, e aqui no Brasil é tudo muito precário. A demanda é muito maior do que a oferta, por isso é caro e ruim.

O que eu questionei é se seria possível, no futuro, nos conectar diretamente no satélite, sem precisar das estações. Você alugaria seu próprio satélite e se conectaria direto nele.

Estou dando continuação aos posts no tópico sobre a Lightning Network.

Como vocês já sabem, a Blockstream possui satélites para uso da blockchain. Estes satélites, no entanto, só podem ser acessados por meio de um Raspberry Pi.

Eu acreditava que o acesso fosse direto com o satélite, pois a idéia da Blockstream seria levar o bitcoin à locais que não possuem internet. Mas como o usuário wilwxk apontou, ainda é necessário comunicação com a estação. Isso meio que anula o uso do satélite, já que é justamente por termos estações precárias e ineficientes que não temos uma internet de qualidade, seja à rádio ou por meio de cabeamento. Enquanto nos EUA já se fala em 5G, na maior parte do Brasil não temos nem mesmo 4G.

Alguém sabe se seria possível ter comunicação direta com satélites algum dia, sem a dependência de estações?

Quão avançada estaria a tecnologia, no tocante aos satélites?

Eu acredito que satélites serão uma solução para a falta de internet no terceiro mundo. Eu moro em São Paulo e a internet cai de tempos em tempos, geralmente quando chove, e ela é cabeada (da live tim). Seria muito mais prático se eu pudesse me conectar direto com um satélite.

A Blockstream, no entanto, só fornece estes satélites para uso da LN. Mas aí fica a pergunta: de que adianta ter acesso à blockchain, mas não ter acesso aos sites de compra, onde você gastaria seus bitcoins? Se faz necessário ter um acesso qualificado à internet, por meio de satélites, e sem dependência de estações terrestres. O ecosistema dependeria deste acesso. Eu também poderia querer rodar uma blockchain para outros tipos de dados, por exemplo, uma enciclopedia, ou um jogo, pois qualquer coisa pode ser armazenada numa blockchain e distribuída em formato P2P. Uma conexão via satélite seria muito útil, neste caso.

Será que não teria como rodar a internet a partir destes satélites? Linkar um Raspberry Pi no seu desktop ou laptop, usando ele como intermediário com o satélite?

E sobre este cubesat... dependendo do valor do bitcoin em alguns anos, e avanços tecnológicos no campo de transmissão de dados, talvez não seja possível... comprar um satélite destes a cada dois anos? Ou então alugar?

Vamos supor que o bitcoin não seja tão manipulado por Wall Street como se supõe, e que chegue à 100 mil dólares em 2021, 300 mil dólares em 2022 e talvez 1 milhão em 2025... muitos aqui poderão comprar um cubesat e terão acesso direto à internet, sem depender da operadoras horríveis que temos no Brasil. E talvez não seja nem por dois anos, mas cinco, dez anos. Como é bom sonhar...

My opinion, right now, is that this bear market will last three years and a half, and we can see a price of $1000 by the middle of 2019. And yes, I'm exagerating it, because I dont want any surprises here. We need to be psychologically prepared for such values.

There's no point in discussing bitcoin anymore. The blockchain technology could solve a lot of issues, specially concerning both public and private bureaucracy. Unfortunatelly, bitcoin exchanges are getting more and more bureaucratic, with tighter KYC regulations, and most users are simply accepting it, ignoring that bitcoin was created as a way out of such bureaucracy.

Blockchain could also be used to transmit every kind of data, like games, movies and books, or medical records, scientific research, administrative paperwork, etc. However, most altcoins were revealed as scams, hurting the idea of the blockchain.

Blockchain could even be used for decentralized exchanges, but see what are called "decentralized exchanges" nowadays: apps for smartphones which are used to fuel one or another altcoin, which becomes just another scam, since no user is storing the blockchain from such "decentralized exchanges" in a proper computer.

From the feeling I get, bitcoin is headed to $4000. We are getting lower highs on each swing, and soon it will break the 6k bottom. We could also have the price stagnated around 6k for a few months, but I doubt it will happen.

I was hoping for 12k around november, but for a balanced climb, it should be already at 8k now.

So-called "legitimacy" brought us here. Different from what I believed earlier, adoption will bring longer, not shorter, bear markets. This could last until the next halvening, in 2020.

I agree. For the short term, I see a tendency for lower highs. It was near 10k some months ago, then the high dropped to 9, 8, and now 7k. This is standard in bear markets, and the fact that we are still having it, means this will take longer than we think. So, its no use to care for the short term. Bitcoin was tamed by TPTB and the road ahead will be harder than we thought.
